Dr Ibrahim, his surgical assistant, and his staff are excellent at what they do. Dr Ibrahim performed 3 level cervical fusion in 2017 and it turned out perfect. No longer suffering from daily headaches and neck pain.I returned to Dr Ibrahim for lower back pain/surgery because I trust his expertise. He, and his staff are very caring, taking the time to listen to my complaints and explain treatment options. I dont feel rushed and feel like he understands the problems. I have been to 5 different surgeons in the past 2 years, but returned to South Denver Spine because I think this is the BEST spine office and the most intelligent surgeon(s) anywhere.

This place is a complete waste of time and money. Filled out the 18 pages questionnaire and all corresponding pages on the website per the receptionists instructions that took over and hour. Then when I went in for first appointment was forced to do 4 X-rays when I already had a MRI but my guess so they could charge me more. Then when it was time to meet the Doctor he had some Neck Brace on and could not give me a definitive answer on a treatment plan. The shot he proposed found out they don’t do that there and I would have to wait a week or more provided my insurance approved it. Instead of offering anything in the interim he wanted to give me publication to read while I suffer in hopes of getting a specialist to do the shot somewhere else. You want to be in agony and out of a copay and have your time wasted, come here?

For 20 years I have been dealing with severe lower back pain! I had several compressed discs and scoliosis. For years I tried many different medication‘s for relief. Finally my primary doctor recommended I see Dr. Zak Ibrahim, of South Denver Spine and robotics. He (my primary Dr) had told me that if he had the back problems that I had he would only see Dr Ibrahim. With a recommendation from my Dr, along with researching others. I was confident with my decision to make an appointment with Dr. Ibrahim. At south Denver Spine. The process of getting to spine fusion surgery was almost a year and a half in the making. My first visit we talked about what the options for me would be. Dr Ibrahim is quite thorough and will not do surgery unless its needed and all other options have been exhausted. The first option for me was a Cortizone shot in my back. It worked wonders for me! It lasted about 6 months. I had my second Cortizone shot and it did not help at all! It was so disappointing! I went back to trying different medication’s and exercise neither of which helped. I had made the decision I was over it! I had enough back pain! I spoke with Dr. Ibrahim about fusion of 5 compressed discs and straightening the scoliosis. I made the scariest decision of my life to have the surgery! In May 2021, I had the 10hr surgery and spent 6 days recovering in the hospital. Five months later I feel it was the best decision I ever made! I still have several months of healing until I am fully fused. But each day I feel better and know that I am going to be pain-free and strong again. I am 59 years old I did not want to spend my retirement in a wheelchair due to back pain and scoliosis. I am now looking forward to traveling, enjoying events with family and doing everything people without back problems can do!! This is the first time that I have ever written a review. It’s only because nobody has impressed me as much as Dr. Abraham has! If you have back problems I wholeheartedly recommend visiting him and his staff at South Denver Spine! He has given me my life back!

Thank you Dr. Ibrahim and staff for your expert care in our players case. For this player, although the injury looked bad, it turns out to everyones surprise that surgery was not necessary. Its intimidating to be referred to see a spine surgeon, but after seeing him and reviewing his films and MRI, you did a great job of reassuring that even if surgery was necessary, minimally invasive techniques would be used. It meant a lot that you wouldnt just do surgery. Thank you again.

After waiting for three weeks I finally got an appointment for a consultation.Took a half day at work, drove an hour across town, filled out 20 pages of paperwork, put on the scrubs and waited for 30 minutes for the doc. They inform me I am out of insurance network. This is after they specifically looked it up while on the phone when making the appointment. What options do they offer to remedy the situation? Nothing. Pay the full out of pocket cost, not even a discount. They have no concept of customer service or patient care here. What a joke.

I was referred to Dr. Ibrahim by my GP and the first appointment went well. I went to schedule an appointment for a follow-up and the office staff had already taken off for the day. I tried to call them the next day, but they put me on hold and I hung up after over an hour. I tried to call back and nobody answered. I called back every day for two weeks with nobody answering and finally gave up.

I called to make an appointment after a referral from my doctor. The receptionist told me I could have my recent xrays sent over, so I made the request from my doctor. When I called today to confirm if they received the xrays, the receptionist told me they would have to take xrays again either way, and was quite rude in the conversation. Making it a priority to at least view previous xrays to see if they are the quality you need would be appreciated, rather than causing additional unnecessary cost and exposure to radiation by default.

Dr Ibriham destroyed my mother’s life. After four failed surgeries, she was unable to recover. The first surgery should have never been recommended by this Dr, he had have know that she was too old and was not healthy enough to go through with it. Before the surgery, although some slight pain in her lower back, my mother could drive, go to the store and had a good level of independence. After Ibriham got through with her she was wheelchair bound had 0 independence and spent the last years of her life in pain and misery solely due to Ibriham’s incompetence. I remember after surgery number 3 my father and my sisters realized she will never get better. I was outside the elevator at the hospital crying and telling my husband how bad my mom was. Ibriham got off the elevator and saw me crying and told me there is nothing to cry about, in a deeming and condescending tone. He is a monster. We lost my mom one year ago, she is out of the pain and suffering caused by this Dr. I do not recommend. Do you research and use anyone else.

Since day one my experience with Dr. Zack has been nothing but five-star all the way. His care, concern, and professional skill. as an orthopedic spine surgeon is outstanding. He analyzed my condition in detail and recommended a spinal fusion of my lower lumbar. My back condition was so bad that it could not be completed using robotic surgery. After Dr. Zack completed extensive surgery, using his wealth of experience and surgical skills, my back is now in better condition than it has been in years. I was scheduled to be in the hospital for five days and I went home after three. I have been pain-free beginning immediately after surgery and for the last six months. I would encourage those with chronic back problems to consult with Dr. Zack and use his extensive knowledge and orthopedic skills to help improve their quality of life.

South Denver Spine and Dr Ibrahim are outstanding in their field. I had L5 discectomy surgery performed by Dr Ibrahim and the entire process was seamless. I was in a lot of pain for months, tried chiropractor, personal trainer, physical therapy, all I could and when it was time for surgery, Dr Ibrahim was thorough in explaining the process, getting to know me and my needs, and made me feel at ease by making sure I was informed and question free by the time the scheduled procedure came. I was fully ready and the surgery went very well, my healing was fast and just as expected from conversations with the Dr and his team. He even took a call from me at home when I had a question or was concerned about my healing. I feel like this crew really cares and does a stellar job with patients. I am very thankful to get my life back and free from the sciatic pain that was getting me down. Highly recommend to anyone that needs caring and competent treatment.

Dr. Ibrahim and his team took very good care of me in a timely manner. The operation was successful and I have full range of motion within the limits of the fused vertebrae. The only downside was the long recovery period. I had expected to take two months or so to be back quote online unquote. It took closer to 9 months. This was unanticipated, but, in the long run, more than just acceptable. While I hope I never have to see them again, if I need their help I look forward to visiting them again.

I hurt my back (tear/pull) pretty bad doing a dead lift in the gym. The next morning, I knew something was more significantly wrong as I couldnt even get out of bed and after calling 10+ orthopedics, spine doctors, etc...I couldnt get anyone to take me same day or even next day! I was extremely disappointed with the sense of urgency from other providers (even well known heath care providers such as Swedish Hospital). Finally, I got a hold of Stephanie (Dr. Larrys super kind Assistant) and she was a breath of fresh air after speaking to many people on the phone that morning trying to get an appointment. She found a spot same day for me to see Dr. Larry V. Lee from South Denver Spine. They got me in right away, Dr. Larry Lee was direct, took time to answer all my questions, broke things down in a very simple way (and used awesome sports analogies) and directed me to quality Physical Therapists top select from. This is true health care. People that care about your health and for someone as physical and active to me, thats what matters most! Go to them for your spine/back issues! They know their stuff and really care.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ibrahims since 2013. Between early 2016 and 2018, I did not need to see him. However, since February 2018, I have been to the office a number of times. For the past month and a half, I have been in the most insane pain I have ever experienced. Dr. Ibrahim and his former staff had always been responsive and professional, but what I have experienced in the last month and a half has been unbelievable. I called the office mid March to make an appointment and the staff had not rolled the phones over after lunch. I tried all afternoon and did not get through. I called the next day and did get through and left a voice message for Dr. Ibrahims scheduler. It took her 2 1/2 days to return my call. In fact, she called me on a weekend day saying she is so busy it is the only time she has to return phone calls. Seriously??? Fast forward to this week. I am suffering with insane pain. I did not get professional responses from the staff when attempting to get scheduled for my second injection in a series of 4. Dr. Ibrahim had given me his cell phone number years ago so I text him. He did text back that he would send the order first thing the next morning. My husband took over. He called the surgery center and was told the order had not been received. He also left 2 messages on Dr. Ibrahims cell phone number after speaking with staff. My husband tried calling Dr. Ibrahims office just after lunch. The staff did not roll the phones over until just before 2pm. Last evening, the scheduler called my husband and told him she could not get the order to go through via fax (this had been going on for 2 days now) and that he would need to come pick it up in the morning and take it to the pain center. So, early this morning, my husband drives from Denver to Centennial to get the order and is told that the order was emailed last night, but here is a copy of your wifes medical record. No one called my husband last night to tell him he did not have to drive to Dr. Ibrahims office. Really??? My husband drives to the pain center and a very caring and kind woman confirms she received the order and my medical record all via email last night. I am getting an injection today. I text Dr. Ibrahim to say thank you not mentioning this mornings wasted trip to his office by my husband. Within seconds, Dr. Ibrahim calls me and basically lets me know that boundaries need to be established and I have to go through proper channels and do things professionally. He also said he did not know how I got his cell number. I told him he gave it to me and if his staff was professional and responsive I would not have ever text him. I told him the 2 different times his staff failed to roll the phones back over from the answering service and he told me he could not believe that. I told him my husband experienced it yesterday. He told me I was the only patient saying these things. He basically reamed me for trying to get help. A patient in pain and her husband should not have to go through this much effort over 2+ days just to get scheduled. Dr. Ibrahim had always been kind and caring and his former staff were all great. His staff now is unprofessional and incompetent and Dr. Ibrahim has lost my respect, my husbands respect and me as a patient.

During the period that I was in terrible pain and contemplating back surgery (the very idea that someone needed to slice into my back scared the heck out of me) Dr. Ibrahim used to call me every once in a while on a Sunday evening just to see how I was doing. Most difficult time was sleeping and just getting into bed at night. The only way I could actually get into bed was fall face first into my pillow and then just sort of roll. There has not been a day since the surgery (Sept. 2011) that I have experienced pain in my back or hip. There was a little stiffness at first but started swimming at local rec center and now its all good. If I know someone with back problems I tell them immediately go to Dr Ibrahim! Thanks Doc!!

I would absolutely NOT recommend this clinic to anyone. I came in with severe back pain, no ability to bend at all and had blown out my knee as well. It was immediately clear to me that the doctor wasnt taking me seriously and had not reviewed my chart and history. I requested x-rays and he said the machine was down or being replaced or something so I couldnt have them done. He wanted me to come back in 3 WEEKS for x-rays after finishing a 6 day course of steroids. I thought this was strange because in the amount of pain I was telling them I was in, x-rays is the first thing to do.. even if I needed to be sent to an imaging center, I would have been fine with that so I didnt have to wait 3 weeks to figure out what was wrong. Against my better judgement, I made another appointment and filled the steroids. I called and asked the receptionist to please call me as soon as the X-ray machine was up and running because I was in severe pain, he said ok. Fast forward to day 7 and the steroid is gone and I am literally in tears because the pain had returned 110%. I told them I needed something called in, not necessarily the steroid (because its not always a great idea to continue those) I just said I needed an anti-inflammatory so I can get through til the x-rays. I also mentioned that I wasnt looking for pain medicine because I dont take stuff like that. I was told Id get a call back to discuss the options. No call. I called the next day again begging them to please do something for me. I was out of work at this point because I couldnt move. I was again told I would get a call back.. no call. The next day I wrote a email to them detailing what had happened and why I wouldnt be returning. I immediately got a call which I couldnt get to fast enough to answer followed up by an email saying my voicemail didnt work (I tested it, it works) and giving some half assed excuse that they need 2-3 business days for Rx refills. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I am in tears in so much pain and you tell me i need to wait 2-3 days before anyone will even call me back to talk about it?? I was so monumentally pissed off and upset that THIS was their response. No apology for leaving me hanging. Just said, sorry you feel like you cant come back. Absolutely asinine. I told her to stop communicating with me because I would no longer be able to control my temper. The doctor should have had a plan in place for me in the event that these meds didnt work or I needed additional help afterwards. Instead, I was ignored. I ended up at another doctor yesterday and the first thing they did was take X-rays and I HAVE A FRACTURED SPINE. And this place wanted me to wait 3 WEEKS without knowing at all what was happening with me. I am being fitted for a brace and will likely be headed into surgery for this fracture. I am so disgusted by the lack of empathy and compassion Dr. Ibrahim and his staff have shown to me. I should have left the second I realized he hadnt even reviewed my chart because Ive had back problems for 11 years and when I told him at the end of the appointment he was very surprised. He brushed me off from the very beginning and I imagine thats how he treats all of his patients. I would avoid this place at all costs. Im very happy with the doctor I switched to and glad Im actually going to be treated for my problem rather than ignored.

Dr. Ibrahim indicated that he would go in through my rib cage and repair the broken area (roughly T5-6) and I thought that this was a good plan so we scheduled surgery. When I arrived for my pre-operation appointment the consent paperwork stated that I was having surgery on T10-11 which is not even remotely where Im having pain. I obviously needed to see Dr. Ibrahim again to get this straightened out, so I set an appointment with his assistant to see him the following Monday. His assistant let me know that he would like me to bring in my CT imaging again. The following Monday when I arrived Dr. Ibrahim acted like he had never seen me before. He was asking me where my pain was again and looking through my images as if I was a brand new patient. This was very alarming considering that he had me booked for surgery at that point. He was also extremely condescending and rude to me. When he asked me where my pain was I stated that it was around the T5-7 area to which he replied Dont say that. I hate it when people say T whatever. There is no way for you to know for sure that is where your pain is. I found this to be extremely rude considering that I have had scoliosis since I was three and had my first spinal fusion surgery when I was eleven. Even though I am still in my late 20s I have been dealing with scoliosis for so long that I know a lot more than the average person who comes in to see a doctor for new back pain that they havent ever dealt with before. I should mention that this was also going to be my 4th back surgery, so its not exactly my first rodeo. After this meeting I decided I was definitely not going to continue with the surgery and called the office to cancel. I was told that the surgery scheduler I had been dealing with had quit (not surprising considering how this office runs) and I would need to speak with someone else. I talked to the back-up person and got my surgery cancelled. Several weeks after this the hospital that I was originally supposed to have had surgery at called me to talk with me about my surgery. I let them know that I had cancelled several weeks ago and they responded that they had just received the surgery order that day. I called back to Dr. Ibrahims office only to talk to a different person than the previous time and she had absolutely no idea my surgery had been cancelled. Hopefully now this is all taken care of, but it has been a complete nightmare. Everyone in the office is very nice (except the doctor), but I think they must be losing people because of the work environment. You can never talk to the same person and nobody seems to know what is going on. I would suggest staying as far away from this office as possible!

I was completely down with Stonosis and suffering so severely that I wanted to just die! I found out that one of the best Doctors for the lower back procedure called the Laminectomy was just down Jordan Road a little way from my home, Zaki Ibrahim. His office took good care of me and emedietly after surgery my nerve pain was finally completely gone and has never returned. Dr. Ibrahim is a fine Surgon, gifted and a fine person as well. I would highly recommend this gifted young man to anyone suffering from Stonosis as I was. He saved my life, now I have moved to Hawaii on the big island and living a normal life for a man of 65 years of age!Steven Allen SandersOcean View, Hawaii

Zero stars First he would see me just his assistant who didnt find anything really wrong. I went a few months later to see HIM, and not his assistant, and he again didnt find anything majorly wrong (strictly by the MRI). I was still having major back problems so I went to another back Dr. who recommended doing a discectomy, and found out that I need a 3 level back fusion. All this time was wasted and more damage b/c Dr Ibrahim went strictly by the MRI and really didnt do much work or diagnosis. Lazy and inaccurate, Ive got nothing good to say about Dr Ibrahim. He caused me more lost time, damage, and months of severe pain.

This is cautionary information about Dr Zaki G. Ibrahim of South Denver Spine. When needing surgery, research your doctor’s background thoroughly because you may learn they are not the doctor for you. Get a 2nd and even 3rd opinion early on.Dr. Ibrahim is hands down the worst doctor I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Initially, he came across as a compassionate Dr but it time it became apparent that this was not the case. Rather than reviewing my file before entering the office, he asked me every time where my pain was even after performing surgery on me, a surgery that was most likely not the correct surgery for my condition. It clearly states on his site that he performs discectomies for patients with leg pain and back pain caused by a herniated disc. I questioned him as to why he was choosing to do a fusion surgery as most of my pain was in my leg and he stated it was because I had back pain. A family member in the healthcare field and her co-worker believed fusion was not the correct surgery. He unfortunately did not come to the conclusion that my back pain was in my sacrum, unrelated to the L4 disc herniation. He performed a fusion surgery in Feb of 2014 and by May of 2014 I was in unbelievable pain in my sacrum, a complaint I had been making since shortly after surgery. Additionally (although I did not know it by May 2014) the bone graft he used was beginning to grow outside of the fused area and was beginning to press on my L4 nerve. Once again he was not able to diagnose my sacrum pain and wanted me to see a primary care physician because I had lost so much weight. Weight that I had, in fact, lost due to pain and nothing else. The pain in my sacrum had become so severe; I was forced to do just about everything on my knees because I could not bend over. Dr Ibrahim performed surgery on me and then hung me out to dry. The bottom line is that when the Dr. was unable to determine the source of my pain, he behaved as it was all in my head.It only took 5 minutes for a doctor from CU to determine that my back pain was coming from my sacrum. Since then I have had CT scans showing arthritis on both sides of my sacrum. It was determined by a physical therapist that I had absolutely no movement in my sacrum. As the months went by and I continued intense PT for my sacrum, the bone graft used during the fusion surgery continued growing into my L4 nerve, causing excruciating pain. I was now in a situation that was worse than prior to surgery. My leg felt as if the nerve was being strangled. It was incredibly tight and truly unbearable. In Dec of 2014 I had a complicated revision fusion surgery performed by an excellent CU DR. The bone growth from the original surgery caused nerve damage which takes anywhere from 6 months to two years to heal. At 7 months I suffer daily from leg pain.

I was referred to this office from a dr at Parker Adventist. I have some herniated disks, and have been having some problems with my leg....I.e. Sciatica most likely.....I mean I wouldnt know.... Because this dr basically told me that the MRI looked clean....despite other doctors noting the herniated disks, hypertrophic changes, bone spurs etc. in the MRI and said with confidence that my back isnt the problem here. A different dr referred me out for therapy before imaging because shes pretty sure its the sciatic nerve being pinched. Are you kidding me? Im having classic sciatic pain, have degeneration in my spine and yet my back isnt the problem?Arrogance at its finest. Find a different dr.

Worst office, they had no help to my back problems, even though I already had an MRI telling them what my problem was. And to top it off they have you do some unnecessary drug test that your insurance wont cover but dont tell you. AND then bill you. I wish I would have done more reviews.

Received a bill for $3.600 for laboratory services. All patients have to undergo a drug screening test - which I dont object to. They say their services are in-network. What they didnt inform us about was that they decided to send the urine sample to a separate lab thats not in network for additional testing. A month later we get a bill for $3.600 from an out-of network lab (specialized in Genetics!) that the insurance doesnt want to pay. Dishonest and deceptive. These tests can be had for less than $100 at regular labs.
