To add to my posting below, I have moved from 2 stars to 1 star. Why? I received another bill for this visit from CU Medicine for an additional $396 for Doctor Sweeney charges ($304.00) and a Doctor Mong, whom we never met ($92.00). Doctor charges on top of facility charges on top of visit on top of radiology charges. This is nuts. It is not the insurance fault. 15 minute doctors visit and an xray shouldnt cost $1289.80. I am so tired of the figure pointing about medical costs. The provider, in this case the doctors and this CU Med Center, think it is RIGHT to charge me or anyone this amount is nuts.Staff was friendly and so was Dr. Sweeney. My son clearly had a muscle strain in his back and we shared what the Physical Therapist had diagnosed and the treatment plan. Dr Sweeney still wanted a X-Ray, which seemed odd to me but she is the doctor. Nothing found on the X-Ray. When I got the bill I understood why the X-Ray. They charged over $750 for it and my insurance covered $250. Almost $900 for the 15 minute visit to find out we should follow the PT instructions. According to Aetna website, X-Rays for back range from $51 to $450. That is a huge range but no one is listed above $500. We will not be coming back with the exorbitant pricing. Wow.

I would not go back to this place. The lady behind the front desk, Doctor and her assistant were all wonderful and pleasant to work with - however, the male nurse, Larry who set us up in our room and put the casts on my son is another story. He was rude, acted strange, made weird statements and apparently is quite skilled in putting casts on but is unable to answer a single question about casts. When we walked into the room, I was unsure of where he wanted us to sit so I looked back at him to ask and then noticed he was standing out in the hallway and not entering the room-I asked him if everything was okay? He’s responds “I am waiting for you to sit down”. We sit down in the chairs and he then looks me in the eye and slowly says “ma’am, I am not going to hurt your child”. (I’m like okay, I hope not..??) Seriously??Doctor comes in and she was amazing. She took the time to explain the x-rays, throughly discussed what our options were and addressed any concerns I had.We decided cast on one side, brace for the other and she informs me Larry will come back to put the cast & brace on and go through all the information I needed to know about each one. During the whole time the Doctor was with us I was up on the table with my son (I did attempt to move to my chair when she entered the room but she insisted I stay if I wanted to, so I did).Doctor leaves and Larry walks back in as I am stepping down to move to the chair and immediately says I need to go sit down in my chair because I’ll upset my son during the procedure and he’s been doing this for 37 plus years so he knows what he’s doing. At this point I’m already sitting in my chair, I just say okay and right now all I care about is getting the cast put on my son, learn what I needed to know and get out of there. This is my first experience dealing with broken bones/casts. I will say I am pleased with how he put the cast on and how it turned out. I thought he did somewhat of an okay job with how he interacted with my son. It’s apparent he doesn’t quite possess the personality you’d think one would have with a career involving the care of young children.I can deal with him being weird, rude and what not but I draw the line at his unwillingness to answer any of my questions appropriately. Every question I asked about the cast or brace his answer was to “read the brochure”. Finally after several attempts to obtain information only to be told- “ma’am, read the brochure”, I gave up. He did not answer ANY QUESTIONS!What baffles me is his response to all of my questions was to read the brochure- and the brochure only had information about the brace? In all my years of dealing with doctors and nurses - I honestly cannot think of another situation where I had a medical professional unable or refuse to answer questions. He was able to properly put the cast & brace on and has been apparently doing this for 37 years ... so I think it’s fair to say he is quite knowledgeable and could’ve answered my questions and yet he chose not to.

Ive been there several times with both kids and have had good experiences. The staff has always been kind to us. Sometimes we have to wait a bit and other times we get in and out. Luck of the draw on timing, no one controls how many people show up at once.

I don’t normally post about my experiences, but when I saw the low number of stars I felt obligated to share my very positive experiences. I have been to this office several times with two of my children. We have seen Dr Dahab and Dr Wilson. They are truly fantastic and are great with sports injuries. We have had casts, a boot and X-rays done at this facility. The doctors and physical therapists (who you see before the doctor) are all exceptional. I seriously don’t understand any of the negative reviews. The only issue I have ever had is waiting on the Children’s Hospital main ortho line to schedule and appointment - that’s 45 minutes of my life I’ll never get back! Make sure to get the direct phone number for this location to make it easier to schedule your appointments!

Brought my son in for a knee injury. He needed to get an mri and decided to get it at a hospital other than Childrens. Staff has been horrible in submitting the referral! Its going on a week and a half and the proper referral info has not been sent, no attempt at an authorization, and staff has yet to return my calls. There is no reason an mri referral should take this long! This branch is more than accommodating if you go through Childrens hospital however the service is dreadful if you go elsewhere. This staff does not have their patients best interest at heart. Absolutely awful!!
