DO NOT hire this company. If I could leave zero stars, I would.I am a young adult with a physical disability and used this company for my personal care attendant needs -- I was a client of theirs for a long 2 years, unfortunately, out of desperation because I could not find any other personal care attendants myself. When I originally signed up with Golden Age, they told me they had a bountiful staff of attendants, as well as several on-call attendants at all time to cover when regularly scheduled staff called out sick. That was actually the case MAYBE 8 times in the time I was a client. When the new owners took over about a year ago, the backup coverage got even worse -- it got to the point where they would call me to inform me that no one would be coming for my shift. They essentially blamed their inability to find backup on me and the way my shifts were arranged, saying that my shifts were too short. I was constantly arguing with them about how it wasnt my job to change my shifts, but theirs to change how they were hiring and scheduling people.They told me that they interviewed and background checked all new staff. I was told by several attendants they sent to my house that they had never been interviewed in person, let alone background checked.Although I had a few attendants who were reliable and professional, the majority were constantly late, rude, and unprofessional. Theoretically, they have a no cell phone policy, but I cant tell you the number of times the attendants would be on their phones in my house. And when I said something to them about it, I would receive nothing but attitude and irritation. The office would not hold them accountable in any way.When I was finally able to put in my notice that I was hiring a new agency, they made all these promises about sending better people. If they had better people, why werent they sending them already? Especially after I explicitly asked them to replace my current attendant! On my last shift, the attendant never showed up and when I called the office to notify them, they never called me back.I can advocate for myself and this is how they treated me. Please, please, please, if you are hiring care for a loved one who cant advocate for themselves, dont trust these people! All they care about is your money.
