We have been going to Straka for years (for speech and OT) and are so thankful for this resource and early intervention for our son. He has made huge strides in speech and major and fine motor skills and we were able to continue therapy during covid. The only downside is it can sometimes be hard to get in - but that is because they do such a great job and are in demand. What an amazing resource - we are so lucky to have them in Castle Rock!

We have been going to Straka now for a few years. The therapists are all amazing. We have worked with most of them at one time or another. They are all very knowledgeable and so respectful. I wouldnt take my kiddos anywhere else. These ladies are just wonderful. I trust them to help my kiddos make the strides they need to help them be successful.

I love Straka Speech! My son has been going there for about two or so years for Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. He loves Ms. Devon and Ms. Christine! They always keep me posted of how his sessions go and how he’s improving. He has come a long way since he started at Straka! Everybody that works there is wonderful!

My son Samson has been going to see Amber for about a month now, and is doing so well!! Not only does Sam absolutely love everyone there, especially Amber, but his speech has improved tremendously in such a short amount of time. We recently moved to Colorado and Sam wasn’t saying much at all, only signing. Since we have been at straka, Amber has definitely brought out all sorts of new sounds and word attempts, which Is so exciting! I couldn’t be happier with the awesome people here and the progress has made so far.

I am blown away by the ladies at Straka Speech! We just finished our first official week of Speech and OT (we did evals over the last two weeks), and the verbal progress I’ve seen in my daughter has been outstanding! Amber has made such a huge difference; after my daughter’s first session, she asked me if she was special. My daughter has never asked me a question that wasn’t about getting food, a toy, or going somewhere, so this was monumental. Today on our way to the session, she asked if I could see the mountains and said they were beautiful. This wasn’t happening a week ago, and I can’t wait to see the strides she makes in the months to come! The lobby is inviting, everyone there is always smiling, and my daughter loves going to see Amber, Margaret, and Stephanie. I can’t say enough good things about Straka! I almost wish they’d slow down a bit, we love coming in so much!

Straka Speech has helped my son beyond words I can express. My son started here at 18 months old and is now 3. He has Childhood Apraxia of Speech. The therapists and environment are welcoming and warm. They helped him to feel comfortable and ready to learn. We saw Melissa and Emilie for speech and he has made major improvements, going from one to two words to being able to speak in sentences. We saw Devon for OT and she helped my son become age appropriate for all OT things related. We absolutely love Straka Speech and recommend them to everyone. My son has being working with Straka speech for about a year and a half now. He started in September 2019, when Covid hit we switched to virtual therapy and have continued virtual throughout this year. He has been working with Sarah since the beginning of the summer and he adores her. We have seen such progress in his verbal skills and communication. For over a year, both Straka’s speech and occupational therapists have worked with our children to help them meet and exceed their goals. My son started speech therapy recently with Emilie for suspected apraxia. We’ve been so impressed so far! My son loves Emilie and cheers when it’s time to go to speech. Our son needed speech therapy since he was 4 years old. Hannah the speech teacher noticed that he was having some trouble with some other skills. She recommended him for Physical Therapy. They found out that he has Nastagmus. He graduated PT and now has the skills to self soothe when he feels the need. While we were sitting in the waiting room with our 3 year old daughter waiting for our son to finish his class. Ms. Amber was wallking through the waitning room and asked if she could test her. Turns out she needed a little speech help as well. She has been through and graduated.We love Straka Speech!!

I took my son for 4 months, and did not see much of an improvement. I feel like I wasted my money, and would not take him back. I feel like the sessions were not long enough, and the staff is unexperienced.

Straka Speech is a great place for Pediatric therapy. Not only do they provide Speech/Language therapy services, but also Occupational therapy (OT) and specialized group therapy to meet a variety of needs.One of my children has Autism and utilizes speech, OT and a social skills group for his age. He has been in therapy there for 5 years. They have always been so great with him and accomodating his therapy for his disabilities.The therapists are always so kind and understanding with all of the kids. Even if a child is hesitant to go back with them, they have creative ways to encourage their cooperation. They are also great with parents by taking the time to make sure they understand what was worked on with their child and what they need to work on at home.Their waiting room is large and has a great play area for young children, while having another area for older patients and their families to sit away from the play area. There is even a table for parents with laptops or siblings with homework to have a place to work.Their schedule is convenient with after school appointments for school-age kids and earlier in the day appointments for younger children. They also do their best to try to get back-to-back appointment slots or same-time appointment (with different therapists) slots for siblings who are both in therapy or are in a group therapy.They even have an annual Halloween celebration with activity stations and all kinds of treats. All patients and their siblings can participate.Overall, this is the best therapy practice I have been to. I give it 5-stars!

Really talented speech therapists! My 4 year old twins love their sessions. Even on days when they were tricky to work with upon arrival, they would step out smiling and wanting to go back for more. Emilie and Amber works with parents as well to help these kids at home. I have learnt a lot from them. They show genuine compassion, empathy and love for kids. Thank you for your dedication!

My son works with Margaret at Straka Speech. She is an occupational therapist and is amazing. Weve been seeing her 1-2 times per week for seven months. We have worked with many therapists over the years, and she is fantastic. She works with him the entire session. There is no wasted time. She pushes him and we see the results. When we began working with her, my son would only bear wait on his hands and knees for 30 seconds. Now he can bear his weight for over 13 minutes. He also has started pushing him up to sitting and lowering himself to the floor from a seated position. Margaret has an amazing personality. We all love working with her and are so lucky to have found her.

I found the team at Straka to be excellent for my son. Amber was professional and caring, and watching her work with my son it was easy to see that her level of skill is top shelf. Speech can be a difficult area in which to find talented therapists, so I would encourage parents looking for excellence in speech therapy to check out Straka. We love Straka Speech! They are personable, attentive, thoughtful and intentional about working with kids. They always welcome with a smile, follow up with specifics, and are very present when working with kids.

We have used Straka Speech over the summer twice a week to prepare our child for kindergarten. Our therapists are Melissa and Amanda, who are both very kind and knowledgable. We have had ideal results with Straka. Melissa and Amanda have corrected all of our areas of concern (along with consistent parental support at home). Our child is now in a much better condition to begin school having greatly reduced the stress (and frequency) of being misunderstood. Our experience at Straka has been exactly what we had hoped for. It gave us the tools we lacked to help our child correct speech, and eliminated the frustration of trying to figure out how to do it ourselves.Our sessions have involved much play based learning and that has made the experience painless, and even fun for our child. My son was diagnosed with Autism. Many people thought he had apraxia because he didn’t talk. He now talks, but he has a bad stutter. We came to Straka for a special event and Amber noticed this right away and suggested we see her for some private sessions. The change was amazing. My son now uses the techniques he learned from Amber to minimize the stutter. She does a great job educating the parents on how to communicate and even takes her students on special field trips to encourage their progress. Amber is great and Straka is great. I highly suggest!
