As a former instructor at Colorado HorsePower I have to recommend you look elsewhere for lessons. HorsePower had a long history of poor horse care such as overcrowding, malnutrition, withholding vet care, and putting donors/donations over the needs of the horses and therefore the safety of students. They are currently under investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff’s office for neglect.
I would highly recommend Colorado HorsePower! Tricia is great! I have tried many different activities for my high-functioning autistic son and this is the only thing that he truly LOVES! Even though the classes are group classes, each individual is treated at their own level of need and comfort level. My son also has Reactive Attachment Disorder and he actually bonds very well with the horses and says that since he respects them, they respect him too!
A wonderful organization that truly cares for each and every student, parent and volunteer that is involved. A happy place to be. You must come see.
