We were patients of Dr. Champagne and Carrollton West Pet Hospital for 7 years until we moved away. Initially we started using the practice because they had specialist vets for rabbits, but we liked Dr. Champagne so much we started taking all our animals to her. Over the years we saw every vet in the practice at least once and they were all excellent. Many thanks to the support for our animals we received over the years. We are very grateful.

It’s so incredibly difficult to find a rabbit savvy vet and when our 2 vets were completely booked I searched and searched. My bunny was not eating or drinking an I found this vet an they squeezed us in. Wow I can’t say enough great things about them and how they took care of Oliver and sent us home with great advice and meds for her. Ive been taking Sam (my dog) to this place for almost a year now and I never had a bad experience! I highly recommend this place, they have great communication and the staff is always kind and professional and they always try to do whats best for your pet and for what you can afford.

*Rat Owners*I called and spoke to a very sweet receptionist who made sure to get all my questions answered (she was also brand new but was great!) while getting my appointment booked.I was very nervous about going to a new vet, and the fact that it’s curbside due to the pandemic we are currently in, and I can say I was not disappointed.A technician came out with paperwork and also took down information about my rat and the incident she had with her sister rat. She took my sweet baby in, and Dr.Champagne called after checking my girls vitals and giving her an exam. Dr.Champagne was very sweet and informative. I was very pleased with this visit! I will be coming in in a few days with my other rat to be checked out. They definitely put my nerves at ease and made me feel very comfortable. Very professional and friendly! Worth the hour drive! I have been coming to this Vet for a few years. The drs are great but inconsistent service from the staff. Very disappointing. I paid for some pet food and was told to wait in car and they will bring out to the car. Instructed to call when I get there and the lady answers the phone to say she will leave on bench and I was parked maybe 2-3 feet away and she still left on bench.

This was one of the best Vets experiences I have ever had. Our dog has been suffering with severe allergies and I had been treating it homeopathically/naturally and all of the sudden she started having diarrhea. I treated the diarrhea for a few weeks off and on, as it wasnt consistent. But when she did begin to have it consistently, and then started to vomit, they took her in as soon as I called. The concierges staff(Cathy) who answer the phones, are very detailed and so kind and compassionate. Once Stella was examined, the vet(Dr. Garcia) called and was very gracious and took the time to explain everything, including our best options for testing and followed up with a treatment call as well. Dr. Garcia also answered all my questions and showed sincere concern for our fur baby. I was also able to use my Care Credit Card for payment, which was really convenient. Carrollton West will surely remain Stellas VET for life. Thanks again, to Dr. Garcia, and wonderful staff at Carrollton West Pet Hospital for all their help.

The staff here are just the best! They helped me take care of a little black kitten to get checked out and up to date on his shots. He was a stray that I had found and was rehoming that day. The staff was adorable! Their pure love of animals really showed. They took great care of my little guy and were kind enough to answer all of my questions with great detail. Id highly recommend them!

I meant to leave this review a while ago, but I just want to say how grateful I am for this clinic! My little terrier, Kevin, woke up one morning sneezing...non-stop. I tried several things, but when his nose began to bleed, I immediately called my regular vet to see if I could bring him in. They didnt have an opening. I then called all the vets in my area. This was the only pet hospital that, without hesitation, said, Bring him in!They were so kind and caring, and I was able to leave him for the day while I went to work. The vet took care of the issue and kept me posted throughout the day. Such lovely people! I definitely recommend coming here first!

I’ve been taking my dog there for about a year and they’ve been wonderful. The techs love her and give her lots of love, they answer all of my questions and our visits are always efficient and fairly priced. We see the same Dr. each time and she is so kind, professional and helpful. Truly couldn’t recommend this place more highly.

This morning my miniature Yorkie, Pip, fell down a steep flight of 16 stairs and landed on the tile floor. He was yelping in pain, could not walk, and was in shock for quite a few minutes. I called 6 pet hospitals and not one of them could get him in to be checked out and they showed very little concern even though I told them it was an emergency.Finally, I called Carrollton West Pet Hospital and not only were they the only place that accommodated us immediately, the staff were also kind, compassionate, and very thorough. They asked plenty of questions to understand the nature of our emergency and had me bring Pip in immediately. The vet called me about 30 minutes after I dropped him off to give me an update and explained everything very thoroughly and made sure I understood everything that they were doing to take care of him.She patiently answered every single one of my questions and showed a great level of compassion and service. I was so worried about my dog but they made me feel confident that he was in good hands and getting the best care possible. This hands down, was the best veterinary care our dog has ever received. This will absolutely be the first place I call next time there is an emergency.

My puppy had to have emergency surgery at an overnight pet hospital and had to be monitored by a vet during the day. Even though we’ve never been a patient with them, they happily took Max in and the care he received was exceptional. When he had to go back, he got so excited at the sight of the technician, which showed me what great care and compassion they have for animals. I was afraid Max would be fearful of the vet after all he’s gone through but because of their kindness he is happy to go for a visit. Thank you Dr. Paa and all of the staff! You are so appreciated!

Dr. O and Dr. Champagne are so good with guinea pigs. Our Luna, Fifi, and Rosie have received the best care. Dr. O even helped me over a phone call today to go over a guinea pigs progress and offered to consult with a vet that is closer to us, since Carrolton West is over two hours away from us.

Dr. Osofsky is our main vet but we love her and Dr. Champagne both. They are both super helpful for us in answering questions about our rescue birds.

Not the cheapest vet. But excellent care and advice always. Take great care of our pets and work with us on high expense items, like surgeries. Bulldog experts. Dr V is amazing.

My ratties only go see Dr. Osofsky, shes so sweet to them, and really care about my babies. But the lobby is not very small animal friendly, its scary for my babies when there are loud barking dogs also waiting in the lobby to see the doctor.

They showed GENUINE concern and remorse about my friend having to make a difficult decision about her 15 year old dog. The Dr. took the time to explain everything that was going on STEP by STEP in a HUMANE process. I cant rave enough about the service there and I am a 26 year fine dining server. Five stars isnt high enough and to top it off they were also the LEAST expensive. God Bless them .

Would definitely come again, very experienced and caring vets and techs!!! My bunny was suffering from severe signs of GI stasis and despite our best efforts to help her through it at home we were unable to after 2 days of not eating or pooping. We called every bunny vet within Collin county and no one seemed to have an opening until we decided to make the drive out to Carollton. The vet saw us very last minute (scheduled appointment 3 hours before appointment time) and was very helpful. When we took our bunny into see Dr. Champagne and Lindsey she was very dehydrated, lethargic, and bloated. We knew there would be little they would be able to do but we wanted to try anyways. Dr. C told us our options as well as told us the costs of the care plans and that our bunny would only have a 40% chance of surviving but we took the risk anyways. After inserting the tube and IV we were told that she was much better. We were given frequent updates daily and they would update us every time we called (every few hours) or they would call us every 4-5 hours with an update. Our bunny ended up surviving her battle and is now back to normal. She gave Lindsey kisses to thank her showing how really great their care was. We will be going back for her teeth trimming and her recheck soon. Very grateful Dr. Champagne and Lindsey saved my bunny!!

Dr. Osofsky is a world-class avian specialist who gives common-sense advice. Ive taken my behaviorally challenged rescue parrot to her for 15 years, and shes helped me every step of the way. If you are a bird owner in North Texas, go out of your way to get an appointment with Dr. O! Avian health is a complicated field thats in its infancy, and Dr. Os work is innovative and intuitive - she has birds of her own, I trust her with my fragile elderly parrots health

Great vet! My 13 year old Mastiff has cancer and they boarded her in her delicate condition while I had to travel. They took such great care of her, highly recommend!

Honestly 5 stars isnt enough. The staff at Carrollton West are all so amazing. Back in December I took my pup to the emergency vet with a stomach obstruction. They recommended Carrollton West Pet Hospital since she seemed stable and I was worried about the cost. I literally showed up the next morning when Carrollton West opened and they saved her life. I hadnt even made an appointment! They diagnosed my kitty boy with cancer and helped me know what he needed for palliative care (hes still with us thanks to them!). My other cat had a severe degloving injury and Dr. Paa and Dr. Champagne were able to save her leg. Ive seen Dr. Garcia, Dr. Paa, Dr. Champagne, and Dr. V. The office staff, the techs, and the doctors are great, you wont regret bringing your pet here.

Overall the staff was nice. I have been here a couple of times. My only concern was the lack of giving guidance on how to administer medication or share their knowledge on questions I had regarding my pets. Lastly even following up with a courtesy call to check in on my pets. A little disappointed.

Caring, efficient and empathetic. We took our 13-ish year old dog to Carrollton West, believing she had toxicity from flea drops. Despite being 30 minutes from closing time, the staff encouraged us to get there immediately and took Siggy in right away. Unfortunately, she was suffering from kidney failure and ultimately was let go. After some quick blood tests, the veterinarian gave us a thorough diagnosis, presented our options and guided us toward the right, but difficult, decision. We appreciate the vet and staff at Carrollton West and will be taking our other dog there from now on.

They have taken care of my puppy ginger through a light bulb eating incident and stick encounter gone wrong.... they got her in on emergency basis both times and helped ease the difficulty of raising a Labrador puppy... super knowledgeable and really care about the dogs (and family).

Dr. Champagne and staff are amazing! Over the years weve had the normal cats and dogs which are easy to find care for. The snakes, lizards and other exotics have been a bit more challenging but Dr. Champagne has never let us down.From routine check ups to end of life care they have always taken great care of our furry and scaly kids. Were sad to be leaving the state as I have complete trust in the hospital and staff and it isnt always easy to find a place like this.You and your animals will be in good hands here!

I did not see the Vet however the staff is rude. I had called over the phone explaining my dogs EMERGENCY and they said to bring him in. Brought him in and stood in front of the counter for 20 minutes where no one helped me until I bent down to clean the blood off the floor Then I was told he could not be seen because he would need surgery and they were booked out till May. The front receptionist got a attitude and was very rude. I will not be taking ANY of my animals to this facility because of the staff attitude.

The staff here is beyond amazing. My small pet unfortunately passed this year, and the staff in Carrollton West Pet Hospital really went above and beyond with sending me condolences and giving me support. The love and care the staff here shows is real and just great.

I have been taking my pup here for years. Even when I was a kid my parents took are family dog here. I would recommend this place to anyone. Dr. Pau is amazing.

The location is cute and there are a lot of rooms available, also the staff was very friendly and nice to our pet. They are very well educated on even the most exotic animals. They knew exactly what was wrong and helped us out at a reasonable price. Only downside was that it was a little busy and we had a bit of a wait, but it was worth it. They even call every day for the week after to check in on our pet and make sure she is doing okay.

It was my first time coming to this clinic, and it happened to be under very grim and stressful circumstances. From the receptionist on the phone to Dr. O herself, they not only showed us so much kindness and understanding. They made a difficult decision and time as easy as one could. I will definitely be considering swapping to this vet if we get another pet in future.

Took my dog here today for an infection. They worked with me and helped me out so much! I was so nervous! The ladies I spoke to this morning were so helpful! Not pushy, made me and my baby feel very welcome here! I was greeted and made to feel at home. Im going to see if they offer wellness plans, if so they just earned a lifetime customer!

My eldest dog had an emergency last November. We came to the emergency vet clinic on a weekday at about 5 am. We were transferred here at 8am when the ER Vet closed because they were concerned our current vet wouldnt be able to handle her care. Weve been patients here ever since. Dr. Paa is amazing - both of my dogs love him and the quality of care we receive here is outstanding. The front office staff are very kind, understanding, and helpful.My eldest dog looks for Dr. Paa when she hears his voice when were in the lobby.

First, let me say I was never actually seen by a vet at this facility. I called to see about having my parakeets wings trimmed. The woman who answered the phone told me I would be required to FIRST have a full physical exam in order to establish a relationship with your baby. This would be $95 not including the clipping. The bird is not ill and I just needed the wings clipped—I didnt want them to clip me for a full exam that I did not want or need. Perhaps she did not realize that I am a surgeon (for humans) and have an idea what a full exam for a parakeet actually consists of (not much). I told her I was only interested in just the clipping and she pretty much mocked and laughed at me.It is a shame the front desk ruined a chance for a new customer with her attitude.UPDATE: For the benefit of anyone else looking for the same services I was, I found a nice little independent pet shop in Denton called Fish n Chirps. They performed the clipping in about 3 minutes and their fee was $5. That is not a typo. Outstanding. Thats all I wanted.

(27/female) Was a first time ever bird owner last year when I took my adult Congo African Grey here. I thought the place was neat and organized, friendly, clean, and spacious. My avian vet was knowledgeable, friendly, caring, and gentle, and explained everything clearly for me. Though I had to run lab tests on my bird to confirm the health of my bird because its poop was not normal, I was guided in the right direction about necessary checks versus random checks. I live out of town and have been to another avian vet since then. I plan on going back to this avian vet when Im visiting Dallas again. I had a great experience here and trust them.

I have been fairly happy with Carrollton West Pet Hospital for the first two years that my three dogs were patients there. They did not go above and beyond but maintained a standard of care that I would expect from a professional business. It was my dogs most recent vet appointment that I was troubled by the team and prompted me to switch to another location.During a visit in Fall of 2012, two of my dogs were seen, one was scheduled for its rabies vaccine and the other was a couple of other routine shots and was not yet due for his rabies vaccine. The doctor stated that both dogs were due for rabies shots, so I listened and proceeded to let him administer them to both dogs. When checking out with the receptionist, she alluded to the fact that I should not have had a rabies vaccine for my second dog. She was quickly quieted by another receptionist that said he in fact was due. Being suspicious, when I arrived home, I checked my dogs vaccination records to find out that he was not in fact due for a rabies vaccine until the following year and was given the shot by mistake.The part about this incident that makes me the most angry is not that they made a mistake, I understand that it can sometimes happen. What troubles me the most and has caused me to leave this facility as a client is the fact that when the mistake was discovered, they lied to me about it being a mistake. I probably could have forgiven the mistake of the extra shot, I cannot however forgive dishonesty.

CWPH has taken care of our furbaby for 12 years. She’s 14 and looks and acts like she’s less about 10! They have been wonderful in caring for her, from routine physicals to an emergency surgery to remove a 6-pound tumor on her spleen. We wouldn’t even think of taking her anywhere else.

Saw Dr Champagne and I was there from 1:45 to 4 o’clock in her office waiting, to get resoluteAnd when I am ready to check out all the front desk looking at each other to see who want to check me out, that was turned off to me.On top off it the bill was around 600$ it’s crazyAnd The front desk never told me that I am not going to see my regular Dr, if you ask me it was bad experience to me last visit

I have two older rescued Guinea Pigs. It can be difficult to board them because they cannot be treated like a cat or dog. The doctors and staff treat my girls so well! Last time I boarded them their bottle broke while they were there. The staff went to the store and replaced it with the exact same bottle! I was shocked and amazed! I am so very grateful to them for all their care! I never worry when I am out of town.

Overall the staff is friendly and I like the exotic vet. However! I no longer trust this clinic to safely board my (exotic) animals.I needed to go out of town, but knew no one who could take care of my chinchilla while I was gone. Thus he was boarded here. As soon as I got back in town I drove straight here to pick up my baby, but he was extremely lethargic and not himself. I just shook it off as some stress from the move from this clinic to home. Except he didn’t get better. I ended up having to take him to a overnight emergency vet! They werent exactly helpful either, as they just informed me he was dehydrated, told me they gave him fluids, and if he’s not fine by morning to take him to his normal vet. He didn’t make it till morning.He barley moved as I held him later that night and hid in a corner when I let him down. I don’t remember why I had woken up, but by 2am he was dead with rig-mortis already setting in. I was so confused as when I originally left him at this clinic he was fine; happy, active, my little fluffy spaz! But when I picked him up something was wrong and it didn’t get better. As soon as this clinic opened I took his corpse to them and asked them to do a necropsy which yielded no answers.I later learned that the exotic vet specialist and I were out during the same week. Since there was no specialist, I fear he wasn’t properly taken care of while boarded. Nothing I’d seen gave me confidence that the nurses knew how to handle exotics, thus leading me to suspect he was placed in a too hot room and eventually overheated. Chinchillas are very delicate and he was used to being in a house around 65-70 degrees which was certainly not the temperature when I picked him up. It was muggy and humid inside; no place for a chinchilla.I do, however, still like the staff. Everyone I’ve met has been kind and understanding. Honestly, I feel like a mistake was made or something was overlooked when caring for my baby. I don’t fully blame the staff as I too should have made sure he would be safe. But it’s still really painful not knowing and I can’t help but wonder if I had done things differently would he would still be here.

I love Dr. Champagne, however the staff has grown consistently rude and incompetent. Cant even give a price of an exam over the phone and bumbles around. I was trying to move a dog over here, I have one dog I have been taking here for years, that has diabetes and has been established by a vet right down the road from them. I was told in addition to the Glucose curve we need which they could not give a price for (incompetence), there would be an additional exam fee to make sure the dog has diabetes. What a crock and just a way to get more money from an already expensive vet. While Vetsavers has some challenges with staff as well, at least they are very polite and can give prices and do not try to gouge your for more. Good job CWPH, you just lost my dogs business and another dogs as well.

Absolutely phenomenal service. Dr, Putnam and the rest of the team gave our little Pompom (and ourselves) some of the BEST customer service and care ever! We were shocked! I am very happy with the veterinarians at CWPH! We have 2 parrots (and previously 2 guinea pigs). Dr Osofsky & Dr Champagne are wonderful, caring vets. We see Dr O for our birds, although when she was out, Dr C was just as knowledgeable and helpful. Dr C also treated our guinea pigs as they aged (they were rescue pigs and one came to us with pre-existing health conditions); Dr C was straight-forward with us but still very sympathetic when it was time to end their suffering. She did not push any heroic measures or unnecessary tests. Im stunned at people who view price as their top concern. Price is no object for me when it comes to our pet family members. Highly recommend for avian and exotic vet needs.

Although the vets are generally nice and professional, they do try their best to push unnecessary treatment and examinations on my pets every time I call/come in for an appointment. I had a blood test scheduled for my elderly dog to figure out what kind of pain medication he needed to be on that would be safe for him and the first dr I saw said it would be $115. When I finally scheduled the appointment, I was put with another dr that charged me $186 claiming that I dont know why he told you that price, your dog needs a general blood test that checks everything..., the previous dr that told me the lower price said it was a general blood test...my point is, they try and charge you up the wall. The minute I find a better pet hospital to take my babies to, Im out of there.

Carrollton West is a very special place. I have been taking my little buddies there since I moved to Carrollton over 20 years ago. What I noticed is that all of my dogs like going to the vet since I found CWPH. From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel like you belong there, often coming out from behind the desk to greet my pets. The technicians are gentle, and the doctors give exams with care and compassion. I wish my personal doctor treated me as well as CWPH treats my pets. If you care about your pets, you should try CWPH. Dr. VanAntwerp and Dr. Champagne are the best.

This is by far the worst clinic I have ever had to deal with! I worked for them and I was a client and got treated poorly in both positions! Recently I asked for my dogs radiographs to be e-mailed over on an emergency basis and I ended up having to go pick them up because it was taking days!!!!!!! That is uncalled for!!!!!! The owner was very unprofessional to my request! Ridiculous!!!!!
