The appointment with Dr. Pannunzio exceeded my expectations in every way. He diagnosed the issue with my thumb, took the time to explain the details and answered all of my questions. It was unlike the typical doctor office visit....he was not rushed and took a genuine interest in my case. I left with a clear understanding of my diagnosis and alternatives treatments. Highly recommend him!!!

Dr. Pannunzio and his team are fantastic. We have a large family and have had a number of reasons to work with him over the years. Once I was traveling and had a horribly infected bursa sac on my elbow and Dr. Pannunzio was able to work with me towards a full recovery. Many of my children have been to him after various accidents on skateboards and roller blades. His bedside manner made everyone comfortable, the technology leveraged is top-notch, and they are all doing well today.

I would highly recommend Dr. Panunncio for hand finger problems. He knew exactly how to treat my trigger finger and after 3 days, my finger was working like it was new! Both professional and affable, Dr. P answered my questions and explained what was going on with my hand and finger. I will return when I might need to.

Dr Pannunzio is fantastic! He helped me get back on track with a severe case of tennis elbow, helped my kids with various arm fractures from sports, and treated my father for arthritis with his thumbs. Every time he explained what is causing the pain, how to properly recover, and how to prevent future injuries. Outside of my family, Dr Pannunzio has worked with numerous lacrosse players I’ve coached. Every single player has come back stronger after being treated.

The arrogance and disregard for his patientsExcuse the rant but Ive never been treated so poorly than I was a Dr. Pannunizos today. Appt 11:45 arrived 11:35 taken to the room 11:40. At 12:10 I walked out to the his assistant and said I had another appointment at 1:00, 20 minutes away. She said shed let the doctor know. I passed his little cubby on the way tom and from telling her it was across from my room and he was hanging up from one phone call and making another I understand doctors times are very scheduled but I tried to get there so I didnt keep him waitin g.I waited until 12:30 and said her I was leaving he was making more phone calls when I left didnt even bother to look up. His assistant just said sorry but it wasnt sincere. Ive got a feeling it happens more often than not. Seeing him 6 wks ago & pleased with the results of the cortisone injections was due again today, even if he came in @12:30 there would not have been enough time to do the injections and get me to my next appointment. I left there in pain as I entered. I will not return to his office. He should be ashamedthinking his time is more valuable than mine.

Dr Pannunzio took care of my gamekeepers thumb which was a very complex surgery, and he did an excellent job. With hand therapy, I have regained full use of my thumb and hand and have had no problems since. My only problem was with the resident whom I saw in followup before Dr Pannunzio came in the room, who pulled the pin out by quickly yanking on it. That was one of the most painful things I’ve ever experienced. I screamed. But as far as Dr Pannunzio is concerned, he is excellent.

Dr. Pannunzio is a great doctor and surgeon. He performed Carpal Tunnel Release surgery on both hands. Both hands went back to 100% function and I cant even see the incision sites. He is very calm and professional during his examinations. I have also seen him several times since 2006. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM.

Horrible doctor. Literally examined me for 1 minute or less after sitting in the exam room reading what he chose to pick out of reports from testing I had done. On top of that my appointment was supposed to be at 1pm, I did not get taken into the exam room until 1:30pm and did not see him until 2pm. He then stated that he was reviewing my records for 20 minutes, but he reviewed them in the exam room while I was sitting there for maybe 3 minutes. I see why he is the number one choice of work comp insurance companies

Both my wife and I have seen Dr. Pannunzio for a variety of hand and wrist issues over the years and each time we both have found him to be spot on in his diagnosis and treatment. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr Pannunzio was not aggressive in the treatment of my 7 year old son’s fracture. His retroactive approach not only prolonged the healing process, it created an unnecessary emotional strain on my son. In short, my sons fracture became worse under dr Pannunzio’s care, growing more displaced after the first AND second visits.I attribute this to Dr Pannunzio’s failure to properly immobilize the arm during the first week, which was likely due to his hastened examination of the at that time. Our first visit was on the day after the injury and Dr Pannunzio looked briefly at only one X-ray with us, but was soon called away by a phone call. He did not look at any more xrays when he returned. He also did not remove, for examination, my sons arm from the temporary splint he received in the ER the previous night. . Dr Pannunzio’s seemed more frustrated that we were there, just one day after the injury. He implied that ER shouldnt gave recommended us to come see him since it was customary to wait at least 7 days for the swelling to go down before applying a cast. As such Dr. Pannunzio sent my son home for 7 days in the same open splint with the expectation that we would return in a week for the cast. What pannunzio didn’t notice was that the bump that he thought was typical “swelling” around the fracture site was actually a deformity produced by the fracture beneath. This became obvious when we returned and this “swelling” was more marked, in other words, more deformed. He used a fluoroscope and it revealed that the fracture had displaced significantly during the week. It’s important to note that this new view of the fracture was not one that he looked at in the initial office visit (although this view was available at that time). Had he looked at a similar view then, he may have caught the beginning of what was now a significant angular displacement and possibly taken more time to examine his arm, and might have sent him home in a more suitable splint. As it was, however, we arrived at the end of week 1 expecting a cast and instead, found ourselves viewing a more serious brake and hearing the unexpected news that he would now need surgery.Dr. Pannunzio manually reset the fracture the following day. He was satisfied that the fractured ends were in a position to heal. My son was sent home in a sandwich splint this time and we would return, once again, in a week for the cast. When we returned this time, were seen by one of dr Pannunzio’s colleagues. At this visit, the fluoroscope showed that Pannunzio’s manual resetting had failed to stay in place and the bone had displaced in an entirely different direction. More invasive surgery was now required and my son was put under for a second time in 8 days. The new surgeon opened my son’s arm and immediately saw that one end of the bone had also rotated and was not in any position where manual reduction would have worked. Furthermore, had it healed this way, my son would not have had any pronation or supination ability. We were very pleased with how the new surgeon aligned the bones and used a plate and screws to finally set us on a healing path (albeit a late start). In summary, i feel like dr pannunzio was not as observant or aggressive as was necessary. As such my 7 year became more anxious and emotionally distressed each of those first weeks. He not only had to go through the pain of a fresh fracture 2 more times (bc of each surgery), but also the emotional strain. He could not sleep before each follow up apt because he feared what bad news would await him - even after the plate and screws were placed in. It’s a tough situation for a 7 year old to have to wait for a bone to heal. It is even harder when the child’s experience leads him to have more “what if” worries each day than confidence that it would heal. He finally received his cast (3 weeks after we expected it). However it took another 3-4 weeks for him to fully stop worrying about what else might go wrong.
