This place is a circus. You’ll have to wait for your doctor possibly for hours after your scheduled time, or they’ll cancel your appointment without telling you why and when you ask why, they won’t know. The billing department sucks too! Good luck dealing with them. Trust me, don’t waste your time. Go somewhere else

I called someone to set up a neurology appointment. They said theyd call me back and never did. I dont even think the guy made a note of it, he just hung up and left. He was very rude because I did not have an insurance card. I am a military dependent. I was also told by my nurse at my primary care hospital to direct any insurance questions to her, which I did. Now it has been weeks and still no call. So I will be calling back today. I hope I dont get that guy on the line again though, that was a -1/10 experience. Even my family was shocked at his attitude.Update: I was contacted by someone much kinder. She helped me set up an appointment with the appropriate doctor and put me on the waitlist for cancellations. The issues I was having seem to be a result of poor phone connectivity, and simply that one guy that picked up my call a few weeks ago. Please note, I do not have any clue who I spoke to in either phone call, and my experience during this time is also likely a result of COVID-19 causing high call volumes. I understand that everyone has bad days, however treating patients poorly over the phone is never acceptable.

Dr. Lawler when I spoke to her was proactive in helping with my debilitating migranes and booking a further MRI. She referred me to Dr. Pham who was also very helpful. However I was called by an apologetic assistant who said she was not in my insurance network and rebooked me two weeks out. She said someone would call me about my MRI results and I was told that my Brain Damage at 30 years old was not serious enough to be seen. When looking online for sooner appointments I saw ample openings with other doctors. I will keep my appointment with the Nurse Assistant, but I do not appreciate the staffs treatment, especially when there are openings sooner, which I did ask if there were any closer to when my original appointment was. Being lied to by staff is not a good look for the office. I hope come time my next appointment I can at least get the information I need to move forward with my life and address my very serious, life altering health concern appropriately.

Dr. Lawler is by far the best neurologist & one of the best MDs I have ever taken my family member to. Aside from her superlative clinical skills, she is also truly compassionate & cares for her patients overall wellbeing; offering advice and assistance beyond her scope of practice. I would rate Dr. Lawler ten stars if I could!Unfortunately, however, the insurance referral staff at this office do not seem to always understand doctors orders and have been slow to respond. Thus the 4-star review for the medical office in general.

This Nuerology Center does not deserve any stars! First of all, it is very hard to get an appointment with the doctors within reasonable time. They say they are extremely booked all the time and don’t have flexibility in their schedules. Ok, you would think they are good doctors with that being the case. Well to my surprise, the neurologists that work here are very rude, inconsiderate, & unprofessional! I’ve had very unpleasant experiences with Dr. Modhav! Dr. Modhav does not have any bedside manners and is awefully rude! I do not recommend her to anyone! She may seem nice at first but she is quick to talk over her patients, interrupt them when they are talking or asking questions, and makes it a point to scold them without taking any consideration of the patient! Dr. Madhav is an awful doctor, do not waste your time! She doesn’t provide appropriate care! My grandma had set an appointment with her and I told her to cancel! She is a terrible doctor! I’m not one to talk bad or post a negative review but I just couldn’t hold back! I felt it was important to share with others and warn against this terrible doctor!

Dr. Abigail Lawler is an angel. She has so much love and compassion for her patients. My mother has been getting more and more stable under her care. She listens to the family and wants them involved. She is kind and considerate and willing to try different treatments to help achieve optimal results. Anyone would be extremely lucky to have her as their Neurologist. I think she is probably just about the best there is. If I could give her 10 stars I would, but 5 is the highest we are allowed to give.

My experience at the Neurology Center was one of the worst medical experiences I have had. I was treated with zero compassion, and like me and my family were nothing more than a waste of the doctors time. Just because he could not figure out what was wrong with me, it became my fault. During one appointment, I waited for an hour and a half to see the doctor (we arrived on time) and then the doctor had to rush out to get to a conference. He also was completely dismissive of my pain. While performing his examination, what he was doing was painful. He didnt tell me what he was going to do, and when I exclaimed in pain, he told me several times that what he was doing shouldnt hurt. It was impossible to speak to this doctor if he did not agree with you. He did not care about controlling my symptoms or my pain. Please, save your time, money, and energy, and find another place for neurological care.

I sat on hold for around 15 minutes only to have someone provide me with little to no information as to how I can get my prescription refilled. If I don’t take my meds, I end up having severe withdrawals, so its urgent to me, but apparently it is NOT urgent to any of the “Healthcare Professionals” that work at this facility.Save yourself the time and hassle and take your business elsewhere. This place is a joke.

When I first saw Frishberg for my daughter I thought he was thoughtful caring and first rate. When I later saw him for my own reasons he was an arrogant jerk. it was a complete waste of time and I cannot imagine how he could be the same person. I am writing this after having been referred to his group again since other doctors think they are good. This opinion is probably because they have never been there themselves. Oh, and their website does not even work today. It is only says service is unavailable While people may be grateful for help with their problems getting a painkiller is just not enough in the long haul, and the meds go sour and then you get referred to a pain management specialist who only handles pain meds. Talk about getting help? This is not my idea of solving a problem. Every drug that can be used should be tried over time to find all available remedies for episodes. . If a surgery can be performed to eliminate a problem it should be evaluated. Getting pain meds and a food journal just begins to scratch the surface. They can do a lot more but instead run us through like cattle with revenue attached to the visits. A glorified bandaid solution is not what a real migraine course of treatment should stop at.

I had problems with the neurology center from the beginning. The doctor visit was sufficiently exploratory thanks to the P.A., but the administrative and clerical department is the worst Ive ever dealt with from a medical group. It says in their policy to call and make sure your paperwork from the recommending Dr. has been received, I called twice about this and was on hold for 20 minutes only be told they couldnt tell me because the person who processes paper work went home, this was before their closing hours. Needless to say, it wasnt there when I went in.Sometimes when you walk into a business you can tell right away that the people there to assist you are miserable and therefore have ZERO desire to interact with you let alone help and be friendly, this was the case when I got to the office in La Jolla for my appt. Further more, after my appt. when I was checking out, Im not exaggerating or trying to be dramatic when I say it seemed like the receptionist I was checking out with was high. I would say things to her and ask her questions and all I got was awkward and jumbled half answers. If not high, demeanor was quite bizarre/ off putting. Then, Unfortunately, I made an appt. for a follow up visit, which led to more nonsense.I had to reschedule the appt. and when I had trouble getting someone on the phone I tried to do it through their portal, which was a bad idea. Through the portal it cancelled the appt. and didnt process the new time and date that I picked. When I wrote them a message about this, I got more nonsensical and jumbled half answers from someone named Nayelli. Not sure if she was the receptionist I dealt with before, but same deal, once again. Eventually it just got to a point where I said I was just going to go somewhere else. Now, I get a bill in the mail for the appt. I went to. Fine, I will reluctantly give these people my money because technically services were rendered. So I call the number on the bill and I get a message that says you have called outside business hours. Our business hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 to 4:00.I CALLED AT 8:40AM. THESE PEOPLE CANT EVEN TAKE MONEY RIGHT.The irony is that the Neurology (Headache) Center has produced 5 times the amount of headache than they attempted at my visit. This was my experience with the Neurology Center.
