I had a procedure done today, Thank God everything went well. Unfortunately I had such a bad experience at this hospital. Ive been to different hospitals in different occasions but Ive never been treated the way I was treated today. I give it 2 stars just because the Doctor was great and did an amazing job and because the people that were with me at the surgery room were very comforting and kind. Other then that my first nurse was decent but the last one was very pushy, unsensitive, and rude. I was having a hard time waking up because I got more anesthesia then intended. My nurse came in sat me up told me I had to wake up gave me water walked out and came back told me I had to get dressed and I could leave now. I was so drowsy that I almost fell while trying to change then she came in read my discharge instructions so fast that I dont remember any of it. I also mentioned I was in pain. Her answer was you only got a tiny cut not realizing my pain didnt come from the cut it was my whole leg but she spoke like she knew what I was feeling. By the way she was acting it seemed like she wanted me out asap not caring that I was still very drowsy and in pain. I will have a second procedure done at this hospital I really hope and pray next time will be better or honestly I will rather travel hours to a different hospital then be kicked out the way I was.

I have been abused, neglected, slandered, and now fraud on records and prescriptions and so called treatment they never administered. Lied to so many times. Forget the excuse of Covid this hospital is for profit and they don’t care for the most part who they hurt and cause their death. They continued to keep bad Apples in the Corruption scheme of things. There are a few exceptions of honest, kind and good employees. But they get away with horrible things and cover it up simply because very few people can afford to tackle Big Corporate Medical Centers and they know it. They never keep record of my health conditions or allergies and have poisoned me in the past by giving me medicine that contained contents that i had previously told them multiple times i was allergic to. On my last visit i was treated like garbage by MD Patrick Booth because he didnt like how i came in with the same condition i previously had and couldnt medicate due to it being so ignorantly expensive. Im sort of over it but this hospital is so trashy and got such a bad reputation i wanted to add my 2 cents. So here it is.

GO TO ROSWELL OR ARTESIA FOR MEDICAL EMERGENCIES!!!!!!! place is a joke that would be laughable if it wasnt so pathetic!!! 12 yr old son, anemic and has issues with clotting, had a 1 1/4 in. wide and 1 1/2 in. deep laceration to his forearm. we were told that a rn would be out to see him. after an hour we asked about the rn and were told they were trying to find someone. after 2 hours we finally got called back but only to check vitals and were seated back in the waiting room. I watched at least 4 potential patients leave, still in pain, without being seen due to the horrendous wait time. after another hour we had enough and decided to go to Roswell. 3 hours and all we had done were vitals. the drive, wait time, checking for any damage to tendons and arteries, and getting way more than 1 stitch, like the nurse doing vitals suggested, was still faster than that place.

When alcoholics, or actual drug users take priority to someone who comes in for worry of Appendicitis, that is when you know youre at a bad hospital. The disrespect towards my brother here, was outrageous. He was in the waiting room from 10pm-4am before being taken back, when he asked the front desk when he was going to be seen as he was in horrible pain, and worried his appendix was rupturing; the front lady smirked at him. Once taken back, they found gallbladder issues, and he was kept until 9am, after two doctors said yes to surgery and the day doctor says no go home, youre constipated after the cat scan shown a different story. If he has to come back in, for thr same issues; I will be there to ensure he is not treated badly. He is a hard working man, with insurance and no medical knowledge. Yet the drunks were taken care of with better attitudes and staff.

2 years ago my husband became deathly ill from a UTI. He had a fever of 107.2 and was placed on a breathing tube. We were told to call family in because they were not sure if he was going to make it or not. We ended up in ICU for about four days before we were airlifted to Lubbock. The doctors, nurses and staff at Carlsbad Medical Center were top notch! They made my family and I feel so taken care of during what was one of the worst times in my life. Dr. Cardona, Rj Berry, Dr. Sharay and all of our wonderful nurses were amazing. I could not have asked for better care.

If I could give this hospital zero stars I totally would. Avoid the ER center at all cost, going to the ER Artesia is WORTH the drive. All staff is inconsiderate and the doctors are even worse. After 50 minutes of sitting in my ER cubby, I finally asked what was the hold up because I was beginning to feel pain. I had fat hanging out of my toe and the ER doctor was applying EXTENSIVE pressure to my laceration while apologizing for the wait. It felt very passive agreeable. She then proceeded to tell me there was nothing they could do, and had me sitting with my foot in a bowl of saline for another 30 minutes. I’ve never felt so helpless in a hospital. My injury didn’t make me cry, but the poor care I received at Carlsbad ER did. And let me tell you, this is not my first horrible experience with this hospital. I am currently at the Pecos Valley urgent care, Were they immediately gave me a tetanus shot and are prepping me to have stitches. Please take my advice and avoid this hospital at all costs.

They werent even going to cancel my procedure even though the doctor worked more with the nurse than anybody! Now I sit in the ER waiting to get tested and at least 5 people have come through the doors, sat down in chairs coughing everywhere. All the while the nurse at the door verifying if you have covid symptoms chats on her phone! Nobodys sanitizing the chairs the saniter dispenser is out and no wipes in site... Gave her some Tylenol and told her to go home and rest. That was apparently worth $4000.Recently went in when my daughter broke her collar bone. Didn’t have to wait long this time. She was balling and in pain. I asked the admissions lady if they could give her something for the pain as we were filling out the paperwork. She told us they would give her something later. We were seen briefly by a doctor, who asked one or two questions. Then they scanned her. We waited a few minutes. Dr. Came back and said. It’s broken. Keep that arm immobile and take ibuprofen. They never gave her anything. We were in and out in less than an hour. That hour was worth $3300.

This is by far the worst hospital I have ever been to. The ER receptionist had a very unconcerning demeanor, cold, calloused and snide. Making sure to take as much time with then check in as possible. She had put that I had come to the hospital for leg pains, when I clearly stated numerous times that I was having difficulties breathing and was having chest pains. Even being the only patient in the ER, I was forced to wait upwards of an hour to even be acknowledged. I was treated as an inconvenience to the ER staff. None of the staff let me explain my symptoms and concerned. Then I was asked to walk down the hall for urine sample prior to any treatment. When the nurse came in she had tried to give me injectable pain medicine, but i refused and asked for Advil, which was never retrieved nor administered. My husbanded demanded they conduct the X-Ray. After a long wait finally the X-Ray tech arrived and proceeded to try and make me walk to the X-Ray room. I was unable to walk on my own. The Tech seemed irritated with having to get a wheelchair. When doing the X-Rays I was told to straighten my back, and lower my shoulders, and extend my neck. I explained that i could not do so and the reason i was at the hospital was because of that. The Tech told me I was just fine and then began to try himself to straighten my back and neck. I began crying and begged him to stop that it was hurting me. I was then told that I was perfectly able and I could do everything he was asking of me I just didnt want to.. I walked out without receiving ANY treatment. I called the supervisor on duty and expressed my complaints. I was told someone would be in touch with me and they would pass the message on. I never got contacted by anyone from the hospital regarding the incident. I was also informed how it is illegal to video tape in the hospital while they administered any form of treated. Which goes to show that the standard of treatment is extremely poor. The hospital is corporate owned and clearly doesnt abide by any state regulations. I discovered later I was suffering from spinal cord compression, when in received an MRI and X-Ray from a difference facility.

Basically crying on my way back home because they made me feel as if i wasted their time and didn’t give time to actually check me out other than doing the basic blood pressure, listening go breathing and “does it hurt when I touch there”routine! 2+ hours to get seen for less than 5 minutes and an ibuprofen! worst ER experience ever! My mother was injured this weekend and we had to go to the E.R. When we arrived (she arrived via ambulance), we told the receptionist who we were there for and she said she would let us know. After an hour of waiting, we approached her again and she said oh, weve been waiting for you all to arrive, come on back. We are finally able to go to the back and see her. That was only the beginning of horrible customer service and medical care. The only three bright spots on the night were a great E.M.T. crew, a really sweet nurse, and a nice X-Ray tech. Apart from that, we had the following experiences:- Long wait times (no one spoke to her until shed been there for 2 hours)-Rude, Lazy Employees (assistant? nurse? said shed ask the doctor a question and when asked if she had, said shed forgotten to...she didnt even move from her spot at the nurses station for the better part of the 5 hours we were there)-Lack of Care for Patients (my mom was put in an awkward, uncomfortable position and no one came to fix her bed; after 2 hours, she was given a pain pill, then a nurse tried to send her home with the same one and threw something close to a childs fit when he was told the pain pill did nothing for her)-Cleanliness (there was some blood on the floor of her E.R. room)Im not sure if being the only hospital in Carlsbad has made them lazy or what else could be happening, but Ill just say Im glad we dont live in the area and this was just a one time thing. For a company that states on their website that you will have a 30 minute or less wait time until the staff come in to help you, they obviously havent informed their staff of this. Theres a difference between being busy and being lazy and when you hear the conversations of staff sitting and gossiping at the nurses station while your family member is in pain, you know that they obviously arent that busy.To the E.M.T. crew, nurse, and x-ray tech who helped out, Im sorry if this review effects you.
