Dr. Gallegos is one of the most caring and compassionate doctors I’ve ever had. She has a wonderful bedside manner and takes the time to sit with you, go over results, medications or any questions you may have. We’re lucky to have her in Southeastern New Mexico.

The doctor is an awesome person and survivor. She is now part of Artesia General Hospital. The billing is terrible. They billed my insurance under the hospital name and then again for the same 15 minute appointment under the doctors name. So my out of pocket was $500 just for taking my weight and telling me to continue my maintenance thyroid meds. Forget about disputing the billing, they’ll withhold your maintenance medicine until you pay or are forced to repeat the lab process with another doctor.It isn’t the first time I’ve had billing issues with Artesia General, but it will be my last time. I will avoid them like the plague to avoid their outsourced billing problems. So much regret for only trying to take care of my health...

I have been a patient of Dr. Marta Gallegos since 2003 and I as well have my entire family with her. She is the most caring physician I have ever dealt with. She takes her time examining, listening, and treating any of our complaints. I have never had a doctor that went the extra mile to make sure that my medical needs were treated immediately. I am appauled that someone would take the time to write a review to slander such a fine physician. We never have to wait more than 15 minutes in the office. The staff has always been curteous and given me appointments if not same day, the very next, as well as have always been very prompt refilling my medications. I cannot believe that this office treated anyone in the manner that was reported in a previous review by Ingram. I take this review to heart as Dr. Gallegos is a very professional physician that takes the time to help all of her patients. If this patient was upset over a hospital bill, they should have done a review on the hospital, not on my doctor. I would recommend this physician to anyone.

I was a patient with Dr. Gallegos for two years. My son sought treatment for ADHD and was prescribed Ritalin. When he was sick with the flu, I took him to Dr. Gallegos for treatment. She prescribed medication as well as ordered a flu test. When the lab results came in, the cost was over $700. I called to inform the Dr. that the flu test was expensive and asked if the test was necessary. The office staff became extremely defensive and accused me of berating the Dr. A month later, I contacted the office to ask Dr. Gallegos to sign a form so my son could receive medication at school. I was informed that I had requested to remove myself and my family from Dr.Gallegos services, even though I had never asked to be removed. When I tried to call and explain my situation to Dr. Gallegos, she refused to speak with me. I have never been treated so poorly by a medical practitioner; Im surprised she has any patients at all.
