I met with Stacy Costopoulos Smith with 2 years of experience. Stacy, refused to disclose if she was married or not and for how long. Seems important thing to know if you are going for pre-marital counseling. During the session, Stacy interrupted me 15 times and validated my fiances feelings of feeling unsafe without investigating her negative emotions. Stacy, made multiple attempts to try to label my thoughts and feelings rather than ask. I found out later that Stacy met with my fiance prior to our counseling session without my knowledge and refused to disclose any information as to what they spoke about. Stacy is less than helpful and I would not see her at all. This is not EFT or IFS counseling.

I highly recommend New Growth Counseling Center. Jussi providesa safe environment, a place to freely express and explore without fear of rejection or judgment. Jussi was quick to identify problems and then offered tools to help navigate through and resolve the problems.Therapy is hard work but Jussi is a skilled healer who will walk through it with you every step of the way.

Jussi is a great counselor. He helped me understand lots about myself and guided me through some really tough times. I highly recommend his services and will return if I need to.

I think that Jussi has a unique position to offer with a very warm, comforting environment. Jussi was enlightening and supportive but not overt in opinion. He was very easy to talk to and able to provide guidance in a very human way. I really enjoyed my time with him and would strongly recommend him to my friends and clients.

Jussi Light at New Growth has been a terrific help for me in dealing with some of lifes difficult issues. I think we all have these at times and it is very helpful to work through them with someone as effective as Jussi. I have found him to be an outstanding listener, very patient and extremely insightful. Jussi is very quick to identify ones issues, help you to understand them and then provides tangible solutions. Hes just great and collecting all the pieces of ones life and putting the puzzle together for you to see. All with a calm, professional demeanor that would make both children and adults comfortable in working with him. If you want to work on some things I strongly recommend meeting with him to explore the possibilities. Ill bet youll be as comfortable and confident in him as I am.

Jussi was very knowledgeable and immediately makes you feel comfortable to work with him. I was very impressed with his approach to understanding and working with the family.

Jussi Lights intuitiveness, intelligence, and excellent listening and communication skills are just a few of the traits that make him an effective counselor. In the time that I met with Jussi, he challenged my thought patterns and ways of being in the world that were no longer working for me, and he supported me as I stretched outside my comfort zone. Without exception, at the end of every session, I left feeling heard, understood and empowered to make choices that were more in line with my true self. Jussis goal is to basically work himself out of job, not to keep someone in a dependent state. I highly recommend his counseling services. The skills you will learn from him will last a lifetime!

I personally, have used the services of New Growth Counseling in Carlsbad. I specifically visited with counselor, Jussi Light. I find Jussi to be compassionate with a good sense of humor and a great ability to help me find direction in my life when things get a tad out of control. He has great knowledge and personally for me the aspect of his Biblical training helps when I seek to find a perspective from a Biblical Worldview; which is important to me. I wouldnt call him a Christian Counselor per se, but for me, his background in that area is helpful. In general I recommend seeking counseling whenever needed, I find it to be an important aspect of trying to navigate in this very confusing, convoluted world in which we live, and New Growth is a great choice!

My two teenage daughters and I employed the services of Jussi Light during 2012 following the death of my husband/their father. Jussi was always wonderful and understanding and patient with my girls (and me!). Even when my older daughter stubbornly refused to talk about certain things, Jussi was patient with her. He is very family/relationship-oriented in his approach, and that showed in his interactions with us. He was wonderful at helping us think about things in a new way, and always stressed the importance of the relationships between the girls and me and between the two girls themselves. Jussi is a warm and engaging and kind man, has children and a wife himself, and I really liked working with him. I highly recommend him as a therapist for individuals, kids/adolescents, families, and couples.

My daughter and I began seeing Jussi when her dad left our marriage and we subsequently endured several deaths in our family. She had just turned 13 and though she felt her world was falling apart, she was unable to express it and was unable to accept the empathy and the deep love I felt for her. I was feeling helpless and hopeless when a counselor from her school suggested I call Jussi. Making this step was one of the most important things I have ever done.. Jussis warmth and kindness and his ability to communicate on every age level, made my daughter feel as though there truly was someone who got it...and her. He explained to her unequivocally, that, unless he considered her condition life threatening, that their conversations were completely confidential. After a few months of sessions, she and I both felt equipped to try it on our own. Because of the faith I I have in Jussi, I always feel completely confident when I recommend him to a friend.

Jussi has been such a help to me and my family that is actually hard to put it into words. I feel he is a blessing from God. He has such great insight and a way of getting right to it that speaks to me. I feel I can talk to him about anything and he can relate and help me. He is lighthearted and has a great sense of humor and at the same time, very compassionate. I have recommended him over and over again and continue to do so. I have had two friends who have gone with their children to see Bryson (in his office) and benefited from his counseling style as well. Because of Jussi, I am different, better. My family is healthier. My marriage is stronger. I thank God for Jussi. Go see him!
