Weve moved around a lot my daughters first few years of life. We saw Dr. Karunasiri and she is the best pediatrician we have had! She listened to all of our concerns and talked through them with us, she was there for most of the appointment where other offices has had most of the appointment done by the nurses and the doctor only came in for a few minutes. She also respected our preferences for our daughter (calling it a vagina) and made a point to say to my daughter that she is a doctor and I was right here and thats why she can look at her vagina and her butt but no one else can. Highly recommend!!!

People in the back are absolutely wonderful. Some of the best nurses and doctors. They know how to take care of your kid.People at the front desk, some of the worst crowd at times. You can call ahead, say you’re running late, make it in the 15 minute window in the building and they will turn you away while waiting in line. They honesty turned us away for 2 mins difference. Don’t forget the fact that they will shame you over the phone for whatever they see fit and don’t consider COVID and the fear it can cause for parents.Honestly the worst experience dealing with the people up front. If you want to feel like a burden then just go to the front desk.

I gave birth January 2020. Bonnie Bouchard was my midwife. Although she seemed friendly, I did not feel comfortable. I wasnt listened to. I wasnt treated equally to two other women I knew who were giving birth just a few months apart from me. I was rushed at every appointment. I wanted no one in the room with me when I was giving birth and I ended up with medical students. Pines has been prasied for being the best hospital to give birth in in Northern Maine. Which is why I chose them. However, I think its getting to their head. I ended up needing an emergency c-section (done by Dr. Kurall) which ended up infected (due to dirty instuments), and I had to return a few days later. So, its 9 months later and I am still very, very disappointed. I do not recommend Pines.

The ladies at reception are wonderful and Bonnie and her nurse Sharon were fantastic! I felt like I received plenty of support during my pregnancy. Bonnie was very patient with answering my questions and calming my worries, she also made Labor as smooth as possible.
