The WORST DOCTOR in my ENTIRE life...was a consultant ordered by my hospital staff doctor while in hospital after car accident....my Daughter was in my room at the time he appeared and she said I DO NOT LIKE HIM...my feelings EXACTLY...RUDE and ARROGANT to the max...spent about 5 seconds there with no real diagnosis...and the bill for those brief moments was $375.00...????? was told by hospital to set up an appointment with him...I did so...he was even WORSE at clinic meeting...said my primary was wrong in his diagnosis and said he does not treat what I was there for...??? Had no problem consulting at hospital on my case and billing $375.00. I have never seen a doctor be more RUDE and his staff is EXACTLY the same...SERIOUSLY RUDE!!! Worst experience EVER

Dr. Monserrate is a great doctor/surgeon. Sometimes you have to wait, just like with any other doctor. He answers all of your questions and doesnt hesitate to provide adequate treatment as necessary.

In waiting room for 2 hours before they put me in exam room, where I waited another 40 mins to see him for 10 mins.

Excellent care and attention provided by the entire staff. This Doc knows his stuff, thank you Dr. Monserrate! I walked in thinking the worst but walked out with great news and my pains minimized. I highly recommend this Dr. and appreciate all you have done for me so far.

Great Dr. but he needs to resolve his inability to see patients in a timely manner. To sit and wait 2 hours past the appt time is only acceptable if there is an emergency. After two patients were called before my dad was (when they clearly had arrived far later) I was given the x-ray excuse other reviews mentioned. Then the staff admitted it happens all of the time and they have no idea how long any given patient will need so this is normal for them. Other doctor offices are capable of managing patient appts without causing this type of significant wait times. Imagine if patients just showed up an hour or two late randomly because they were unable to manage their time efficiently. If I were the only reviewer having this difficulty, or if there was an emergency and the doc was called away it would be understandable. This situation indicates a lack of time management skills on the part of the entire staff and doctor and a clear disregard for the patient bordering on apathy. If you can choose a different doctor, you might want to do so until this has been addressed and change achieved.

Dr. Monserrate helped my 90 year old Mom from day one. Diagnosed correctly...did what needed to be done. Made no empty promises. AND it was done wth the utmost professionalism and compassion. He is truly a gem.

Both times that I saw this Dr. I was kept waiting 2 hrs. the 1st time and 1 1/2 hrs.the 2nd time. There were 3 ppl in the waiting room for my 2nd appt. at 10:00 am. They filled and cleared the waiting room twice while I sat there waiting. When I finally questioned about why I was still waiting I was told I needed an xray while 1/2 dozen ppl needing xrays that came in after me were taken in before me. When I finally got into xray the young man Eric apologized and said it was his 1st day there. When i was taken to the exam room Dr. Monserrat came in and asked how i was I expressed mt displeasure for having kept me waiting for 1 1/2 hrs. He asked me if I had ever been to a Dr. before? Both times I saw him once in Ft.Myers and once in the Cape Coral the entire time he sat with his back to me and never once looked at me or examined my broken shoulder. His sub-par lack of communication and and disrespect interaction was unlike anything I have ever encountered. My animals get better patient care from the Veterinarian than I received from Dr. Monserrat. His computer froze up on both occasions and he had to have his techs come in and show him how to use the system. He was unapologetic, indifferent and plain old rude. After his blonde assistant, unfroze the computer which I sat patiently waiting for her to do I was immediately escorted out of the room and lambasted by the office manager and told that I could request a one time change of Dr.s. she was extremely rude, combative, disrespectful and angry towards me and my patient care concerns. Dr. Kagans group of surgeons have always had a wonderful reputation but this Dr. Monserrate is sub-par and interacts with the the Spanish people in a much friendlier way than this white American woman. BTW Im married to Spanish man so there is no prejudice in my observation. I was given my walking papers and a good riddance attitude as I walked out the door.

An order was put in for my husband to see this Dr. when he was admitted to Cape Coral hospital. He never came to see him because it was July 3rd a holiday. Told the nurse to tell me to follow up in his office next week. My husband ended up having an emergency faciotomy to save his leg on Monday.

My wife suffered a very bad fall which resulted in her shoulder rotator cuff completely torn in two places. This same shoulder was repaired in 2011, making another repair difficult. After seeing other Doctors, some of which said they could not repair the rotator cuff, she saw Dr. Monserrate. After 4 weeks of Physical Therapy, Doctor Monserrate conducted surgery, and had my wife start PT again right away. I would highly recommend Doctor Monserrate. He and his team work well together, he is an excellent surgeon with the focus, knowledge, and dedication to his patients needed. We look forward to a complete recovery.

A very rude doctor. We are going to change doctors.

I have been a patient of Dr. Monserates for 20 years now. He has always provided excellent advise & service for shoulder (inflamed bursa), elbow (tennis) & hand ailments (arthritis).

The Doctor may be a very good doctor,but the staff around him it is terrible.
