Dr. Witherington has accompanied me the last couple of years - anytime friendly, remembering all my personal details and answering questions precisely. The best part on top is that he takes his time with his patients apart from doing a really good job.

Showed up for our appt. Found we had the time wrong by an hour so we missed our appts. We told the girl we were very sorry and we can reschedule and she was RUDE!!! Told us well well just have to make due and walked away. That was it for us walked right out the door. I know it was our mistake for missing the appt but that doesnt constitute her being rude. Get another job if you cant deal with the people. Needless to say Ill go to a different doctor. Sorry doc you may want to re-evaluate your employees and how they interact with ppl.

Dr. J. Michael Witherington, OD is the best Optometrist Ive ever seen. He addressed + diagnosed a long-time vision issue I was born with and did not even realize I had been living with and fighting without even knowing. I had double-vision, headaches and constant exhaustion I had to fight thru. He treated me in a way I can only describe as holistic, because having that issue addressed also addressed all of these other issues. He is brilliant. His staff is wonderful. Theyre helpful, friendly manner made me feel at ease, which is a difficult feat for anyone. Excellent optometrist. Excellent staff. 💯🤓

Went to Dr Worthington , I couldn’t see out of my contact lens that I was fitted for 2 years ago . He spent a lot of time with me and he figured out that I was wearing way too strong of lens and said I was over prescribed and had been wearing too strong lens . Can see great now and I even see better at night and my contacts are so much more comfortable. This doctor is serious about your eyes . He is great

I knew that my eyes were a mess when the road signs were not readable and finally found someone that made me finally see really good. After sixty years of wearing glasses I had the best and complete exam I ever had. I can now read the best I have ever done. Driving at night is excellent and distance is great. The bifocals also make any close reading easy. My sister followed going there and there will be definite improvement. She is tough to take care of.

I was suffering from terrible headaches on a near daily basis, and could not figure out the cause. My wife had an eye appointment so I decided to join her for an exam. Erica was incredibly disrespectful and had very poor customer service skills even though she was working the front desk and dealing with all of the customers. I was appalled at how poorly we were treated considering we were paying customers. However, the doctor was absolutely phenomenal and sweet. I definitely appreciated it very much and it saved the experience.

Horrible experience here. Between the rude staff girl and younger guy... Went in for eye exam, that was completed by the Doctor only to go pick out my two frames, waited weeks for glasses to be done, never called to tell me they were in either...got them and struggled to even see out of them. Finally got in to explain it and get them fixed only to have a partial eye exam again and now my prescription was different only 9 weeks later?! And to boot it was a less strong of a prescription so my eyes improved in that time frame?! Ugh. Didnt know that was possible unless you have surgery! They offered to remake one pair which again I waited weeks for, no call letting me know they were in...again. Went to pick up my new glasses today, seemed a bit better in that moment...went to work (computer stuff) only had them for a few hours so still was working with them to see if they truly were, still was struggling with the area on the glasses that offered me to see the computer, like the area on the lenses was very small and took many head adjustments to find the perfect tiny spot...ironically I had an appointment for the glaucoma signs that were noticed during the exam with Doctor here, went to my appointment at a real eye doctor this afternoon and before my exam with the doctor they needed to read the prescription that was on the new glasses, her machine couldnt even detect it! She remarked how these were the cheapest most poorly made glasses she has seen in her 20 years! Everything I complained about to the original doctor that was denied by the rude staff was confirmed by the new real eye doctor! I was correct and not losing my mind. Also found out that the guy there, staff member is the one who makes the glasses (he told me) interesting considering he said he could make new lenses in a day or so yet it takes weeks to get them? I highly doubt he has the correct training to even make lenses!! Needless to say I ended up throwing the glasses on the counter and walked out because he would not also remake the second pair I paid for with the new prescription because I already had a pair made twice, yes I did but it was due to their screw up. So I ended up with one incorrectly made pair that cost over $300! Never again! Stay far far away from this place if you truly want to see and get the proper prescription! Guess them not wanting to make the second pair over was a blessing in disguise considering they are junk anyways and now I have to start all over with an eye exam and then buy glasses again! To bad its past the time frame that my credit card allows disputes. Live and learn I guess!

Ive been a customer for over 10 years. Staff is always friendly and eager to help in any way possible. They have a great selection of frames and contacts that you can choose from in a package with the eye exam.

When I came to Dr. Witherton I was having difficulties seeing far away. I had been having those issues nervous about finding out just how bad my vision was. When I was seen by Dr. W. he was able to determine that I had a lot of swelling in my eyes and my retinas were damage sue to diabetes. I didnt know I had diabetes. I was able to make an appointment with my general dr. and he did blood work to find out I had severe diabetes. Dr. Witherinton referred me to a retina specialist and here we are a year and a half later, my visions has been saved. It also has improved. Thank you so much for your dedication and the extra care you give.

I am only going to issue out two stars for them. While the doctor was incredible kind, this place is ridiculously over priced, the staff was horrible and even worse, when you try to call in with a question - they were rude and condescending. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

PUNISHED FOR USING THE RESTROOMWorst experience of my life. I had a 10 o’clock appointment and got punished because I had to use the restroom. After I was skipped the first time I understood. Then a gentlemen who had his eyes dilated needed to go back in. That was fine. I was told twice “ I will get to you in five minutes”. At 1040 another patient who had an appointment after me was then called in. At 1045 I walked out and will never go back or recommend that place or doctor to anyone. If there was less then 1 star they would have gotten it.

I always have a great experience when I see the doctor. He is efficient and thorough with his exams and explains each step of the process as he goes along. It had been awhile since I had seen him and had a newer prescription for contacts from a doctor in Jacksonville. After the exam he asked me to tell him what prescription contacts I was wearing. After I told him he showed me the paper he was just writing on and it matched what I told him exactly. He then informed me I had astigmatism and this is why my vision would go blurry even though my prescription was correct. The doctor also shows general concern for my well-being and is always genuinely pleasant in his interactions. I would recommend Opti Express to everyone!

I have worn gas perm (RPG) contacts for 50 years. My first pair in 1969 were great fitting. Then the following forty years, new RPGs come and went. They become more and more uncomfortable. For the first time, since 1969, I am wearing the most comfortable RPGs every from Opti Express and the wonderful exam and fitting by Dr. Witherington, Thanks you!

Ordered glasses for my son and myself, My two pair as I have always ordered through them were to be transition lenses, my sons two pair were to be one transition and one non, because one pair is only worn in the house and the other for school. Called the office today to explain that my glasses came out wrong one pair has no tint at all, but both of my sons do. I was told by the girl in the office that is not how I placed the order and if I wanted it fixed it would be another charge. I believe I know how I placed the order seeing as one pair of my sons is strictly used for at home and never worn outside. So after spending a pretty good sum of money with them on my family over the past few years they choose to lose a customer by trying to charge me to fix their mistake. The Dr. is always very professional and thorough but the office is apparently more interested in making a few more dollars then doing the right thing. I work for Publix, maybe you should take some pointers from them on how to deal with your customers. Sincerely, John Lohan. I have been living in Canada for a few years and have seen three different eye doctors there hoping to get the right prescription for my contact lenses. And the doctors were not able to prescribe a good fit for keratoconus lenses, Dr. Witherington was and had been able to get a perfect fit for my lenses.

I love coming to OptiExpress and Dr. Witherington really cares about whether I can see. I have vision insurance which isnt accepted in his office, but I would rather pay out of pocket and keep coming here than to use my insurance and not have the same experience. I have mono vision which was never addressed until I started seeing Dr. Witherington.

My first visit Dr. Witherington told me I now needed glasses for distance as well. I wear progressives and got one pair transitional. The progressive line was a little to high. I went back and they were corrected without any hassle. Dr. Witherington, Josh and Erica are wonderful!!! I highly recommend them!!!

We were moving from Atlanta to Ft. Myers & I was having increasing vision issues but I waited until I got here & saw my sons optometrist, Dr. Witherington. He detected MACULAR DEGENERATION & called the Ophthalmologist immediately right from his desk & I had an appointment the next day. With his and the Ophthalmologist care, my vision 2 years later is at 600% improved. Unbelievable! Im so blessed to have walked in his office.

Don’t ever call to ask a simple question because the man that answers the phone will be very rude and belittling to you. Oh and the kicker to this horrible experience is that they don’t take insurance. Not even Medicare for those of us that are on meds that require a yearly exam. This place is near my home but I will drive to Ft. Myers before EVER going here.

Opti Express is by far the best optical in Cape Coral. Dr. Witherington is hands down, the best eye doctor Ive ever had. He found a prism correction in my vision thats really helped change how I view the world! I highly recommend Dr. Witherington and Opti Express for all your vision needs.

My husband had extensive Detached Retinal SX and was having huge issues seeing correctly after. Even after cataract SX with lens implants, the vision was still not correct. My husband finally came to OptiExpress - where the Dr. did several tests + before leaving tried one more that was the answer to his vision issues - He had Double Vision which he corrected + brought Peace back to our home.

My first two visits were great but this last visit to pick up my contacts was one of the worst customer service experiences Ive ever had. The two staff members (male and female) up front were very unprofessional. They did not order the 8 boxes of contacts I was supposed to get with my insurance and acted like they never knew about my order. The girl lied to the doctor about my file, saying I wanted glasses (LIE) and talked as if I wasnt there denying what we had discussed several times in the last month. She was rude, talking about me in front of other customers and to the guy that works up front with her. I never raised my voice or anything. She would cut me off and give me attitude and walked away from me several times. I could not believe how these two people conducted themselves at a place of business. The doctor came out and tried to make everything right but even he was talking to them like I wasnt standing right there. The staff members never apologized. Even when I called today about the status of my order the same guy at the front was bland, short and unprofessional. I will never return here or refer anyone and that makes me sad. I am contacting Optis corporate office about it.. It was that bad.

We visited Dr. Witherington for a regular eye check up. He spotted that my wife had narrow angle glocoma. He said that if not dealt with in 6 months than potentially she could be blind. He also explained that once the pain starts theres only 6 hours before the optic nerve is severed. He sent us immediately to a doctor who lasered new holes into her eyes who resolved the problem permanently. We of course were very grateful to Dr. Witherington. About 2 years after that day, my wife started to have all the symptoms Dr. Witherington has spoken of. We went to the hospital where within 6 hours nobody checked for narrow angle glocoma. We were referred to the original specialist and he confirmed that she was just experiencing her first migraine. The moral of the story is without Dr. Witherington that once the pain had started my wife would have gone blind because nobody would have known at the hospital what to check for. We believe that day was a divine intervention.

I have visited Dr. Witherington for myself and my son. He has a very good manner with his patients. He is always courteous, professional and genuinely cares about his patients needs. I have a nystagmus with astigmatism, and my son has astigmatism. He has corrected my vision better than any other eye doctor I have seen. He also corrected my sons vision from 20:100 with his old glasses to 20:20 with his new ones.For any people saying their prices are to expensive. The prices are not that bad. What they advertise as buy one get one free applies to a wide variety of frames. The lenses are free for low power prescriptions with no coatings or special materials. When you have a higher prescription, they have to use polycarbinate, medium to high index plastics, you can get scratch coatings, glare coatings, or multivision lenses. That is the main thing that drives up prices. They can do some in-house lenses, but for lot of the specialty or high-power lenses they must send out to a lab.If you buy your glasses in house, the eye exam is free, and you get Dr Witheringtons expert professional service, priceless! Dr Witherington is THE BEST optometrist I have ever been to and is currently the only person I would trust with my eyes.

It is dirty and disgusting. The doctor is a total weirdo. They had me wait 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment just to tell me they couldnt see me. They wasted my time and i will never be going there again.
