Today was a bittersweet day. The last day of summer camp for my daughter, who also attended Pre-K here. She did many projects, learned lots and always had a good day. Drop off for a busy dad was super convenient with the help of Heather and Ms. Shannon. Couldnt recommend this place enough. Thank you everyone at Discovery Point for a great year.

Finding a daycare that you can trust to care for your child can be a difficult task. Discovery Point Hickory Flat is the best of the best. They love my child like their own and give him the love and attention that he needs. He has learned so much from his teachers and always has fun. He looks forward to going and he doesn’t leave without running to staff for hugs. They have been a blessing to our family.

My daughters have been going here since my oldest was 3 (she is now 6). We love the owner/director, the teachers, and their pre-k program.

We absolutely love having our boys here!!! Mandy is super flexible and answers all our questions. The teachers are preparing our children for elementary school!! I would recommend this facility to any parent looking for daycare/ pre school / pre k or needing some before after school care!!!

My son loves his class at Discovery Point. His teachers are excellent and he enjoys every day at school. He has learned many new skills since attending. We are very happy with this school.

Our family moved up here about 4 years ago and all 3 of our children have attended DPHF, the youngest from the infant room to graduating pre-K recently. We have been very happy with our choice of daycare... Mandy and her team run a tight ship. We had 2 kids go through the pre-K program and the teachers were top top class.... 10/10.

My daughter has absolutely loved her time here and we are very sad to have to say goodbye to everyone at the end of the year. I would highly recommend Discovery Point #51!!

I have deep and heavy concerns about this facilities evening staff member in the infant room where my child currently attends to perform her duties. Monday Feb. 13th 2017 I picked up my son to find that he had a full sippy cup, full of his juice I prepared for him the morning I dropped him off. Meaning, he was NOT given his juice or water or anything to drink (besides a 7 oz. bottle of formula) the ENTIRE day(nearly 10 hours). Getting home that evening my son was crying and fussy and somewhat screaming at me. I gave him his sippy cup which he chugged nearly 5 oz. of and he ate 2 jars of food that he STILL had left in his daycare/diaper bag. I picked my son up THIRSTY and STARVING. I voiced my concern to the morning teacher about making sure he got his juice during the day. She was very polite, looked me in the eyes as I spoke and seemed to WANT to understand my request. Wednesday Feb. 15th 2017 I picked up my son, same teacher working in the infant room. I went in there to yet again get the bottles and sippy cup she did not pack in his bag for me to take home. When I entered the room she was cleaning and didnt even address my presence. As I was voicing my requests to PLEASE pack all of his things and that the pacifier he has was meant to stay there; she turned her back to me, kept cleaning, and muttered mmhm, k . As I was highly offended by her lack of respect to even look at me, I asked excuse me, would you please look at me while Im speaking to you? Immediately she turned around and said no, you are always so rude to me! Me and (teacher whom shall remain nameless) talk about it all the time! I stated in fact that, yes, she has to listen to me, as I am the parent to a child who attends this room She then put up her and as to gesture talk to the hand and told me, I DONT HAVE TO LISTEN TO THIS OR YOU My concern here is her sense of entitlement that she truly believes it is not her job to listen to any advice, requests, or needs concerning my child. When in fact it is 1 out of 2 of her sole duties. First and foremost to listen to any and all requests needs demands etc., any parent may have. And second, out outsource those requests and needs to the child when needed. If she so truly feels it is not her job to listen, what other childrens parents is she ignoring. Seeing as I have twice picked up my son under her care with a full juice cup and empty belly is not only negligent, but in my opinion borderline criminal. The only child she seems to care about is her own who is also an infant and in the same classroom. Not parent with a child should EVER be working in the same room that child attends. As this is a common rule in ALL daycares to avoid favoritism. Apparently these rules DO NOT apply to Discovery Point @ E. Cherokee Dr. Canton, nor do the requests of a parent.
