Neat place. Wife likes wineries... me eh. I like the architecture amd thr grounds. This one scored on both counts. She was happy and the view was spectacular. Nice place and would he a good idea for a small gathering, not positive with Covid what the limitations are but a phone call will let you know.

The place was beautiful and the people were nice. The amount of wine you get for the amount you pay for is almost not worth it. This was one of the first wineries that I went to, had a flight and other experienced people in my group were pretty disappointed with the wine pours. The wines were pretty good! However, we didnt get much story behind any of them which is one of the reasons to go to a winery out of state and learn about what makes their wines great.

My husband and I recently got married at the vineyard two weeks ago. It was such a beautiful experience. So magical! The events and wedding coordinator, Annie, is such a rockstar to work with. She makes sure the bride and groom have nothing to worry about on their special night all while making sure everything runs smoothly. The staff is super friendly and we always felt welcomed. Highly highly recommend even if it’s not a wedding, the wine tasting experience is extraordinary sitting on the confluence of the two rivers.

Alcantara makes a very worthwhile day trip. Their grapes are cultivated and picked by hand, and their wine making process is done skillfully, the old-fashioned way. The property is beautiful, the location is picturesque, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they usually have live music on the premises, provided by professional local musicians. There is so much to do at Alcantara, you could keep going back and always have a new and different experience.

Very quaint, very scenic, staff very nice and helpful. Wine qualities were very delicious although we couldnt try every one. We will be ordering from their website soon!! To me the best thing about it is the how a small vineyard like this that is family owned puts in so much hard work to provide good quality wine. Good to know its money well spent. Enjoy and drink up!!!

Went to visit this place on the advice of a friend and must say we did not get disappointed at all. This boutique vineyard is hidden out of sight and is way off the main road but it is worth the trip. When we arrived there we encountered a very lovely and well-run property. They offer wine tasting, tours, weddings in a chapel, light fare to pair up with the wine, live music, and more. If you are into wines or are just looking for a new experience, I highly recommend Alcantara Vineyards.

Im reviewing this more on the wedding aspect rather than the vineyard aspect because we didnt hang out long for the wine. We showed up without an appointment to view the place for a possible venue because I hadnt been able to get in touch with anyone. Right away Annie apologized for that and you could tell she is a very busy lady. She took us off to the side and gave us details and info, along with a free glass of wine. She had a private event to attend so she couldnt walk the grounds with us but let us explore ourselves. It was a beautiful place. Cant wait to see it again when everything is in bloom. A great aspect for a venue and Annie is fantastic. She helped even when we showed up unannounced and she was kind when I could tell she had so much to do. The glass of wine we did have was fantastic. Thanks for your help Annie.

My best friend and I got the 9am horse back riding package. It was great with the heat because it was the beginning of the day! We both wear jeans, tennis shoes, a tank or short sleeve shirt, sunscreen is a must, and a normal bottle of water. Tomas was our guide and was truly amazing! I do equestrian riding regularly where I live in Oklahoma and my friend is an experienced rider as well. The ride was a little longer than an hour but we explored new areas, got to walk through the river. And he allowed us to open up and really gallop on the horses. It was such a fun and unique experience! We both would highly recommend this for anyone in the area looking for adventure ☺️

Pretty disappointing. We stopped here because of the route we were taking and we wanted to see what the scenery of an Arizona desert vineyard looked like. And we got that, but that was the only good thing about it.(1) We tried to sit outside, but the majority of the chairs seemed dangerously wobbly/compromised. I was honestly worried they were going to break (some had screws nearly completely out)(2) My wife remarked that even the interior was dirty.(3) Service was not exactly friendly.(4) Most importantly: the wine simply isn’t good. We tried both the whites and the reds, and every varietal was both hot (biting alcohol flavor) and thin (weak mouthfeel, even ones that are normally bold reds.)And they think they can sell these for $35-45 per bottle?! That’s crazy. This was our first time trying wine in the area, and we almost made the conclusion that all Arizona wine is terrible. But fortunately, that isn’t the case (we later went to the Burning Tree tasting room in Cottonwood, and their wines were great.)

4.5 overall review scores brought us here. Per the Alcantara website, we expected the tasting room/wine club manager with “outstanding customer service skills and a basic Sommelier certification” to “wow” us with pride in the Arizona wines they produce. Here’s our quick take after spending $52 on 2 tastings & an antipasto platter:1)plastic cups for the tasting(you’d expect that serving Boones Farm…not a $45 bottle of wine!)2)you go to the counter for pours…walk away with just the name of the wine, no explanation at all.3)manager showed no interest in the wine she was serving. If you asked a question, you got a stare and then a cursory answer. It was comical4)catered to the kayak tour guests who received $40 wine/food voucher, rather than those who come in as potential wine club members.5)tip the musician! She was talented, friendly, and engaging.6)head to another winery where hopefully the people are proud of their wines, love what they do and act like it.

Wine was fine but the service left a lot to be desired. Expect to get up and go to the bar for each wine in the flight. When we got up to take photos around the vineyard, they cleared our table and threw away our belongings, along with half a bottle of wine. I guess they wanted us to leave. Point taken, we won’t be back.

Sat at the bar and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience with Mike the bartender who was hilarious, personable, and, though his menu recommendations initially seemed a bit hyperbolic, we quickly learned he was NOT wrong about the food being absolutely amazing. The wine list was impressive as well. We had the Caesar salad with a pizza, adding Mikes Hot Honey to the pizza which, not to pull a Mike, may actually change your life. The grumpypants GM could use a lesson in keeping his frustrations to himself - patrons should not hear you dress down the staff nor should you roll your eyes to us about anyone, especially Mike to whom wed already grown very loyal. We are only in town for about 36 hours but are seriously considering making a second stop here even in the face of dozens of options here in Sedona. Congrats to the proprietor. Im currently writing this review from Butterfly Burger, another in her impressive portfolio.

Beautiful setting, and well maintained. The wines were ok. I enjoyed a glass of merlot on a breezy, very comfortable 87 degree afternoon. There seemed to be quite a number of staff, but most were preoccupied doing something other than helping the one hostess behind the indoor bar. At one point, I waited in line to pay, and at least three other employees stopped behind the bar, never offering to help. To make it worse, a young bridesmaid(?) stepped past me and asked for another drink, and then her friend came in and did the same while I stood there waiting. I feel like if I was a pushy young woman I might have received better service, but I also feel like one of the other employees could have made this situation a non-factor.

Zero stars. Yes, zero. We made a huge mistake spending money here today. If you believe in leadership by example, this place should horrify you. Zero COVID protocols or compliance with public heath mandates. By employees. Of a business open to, and interacting with the public. Serving food. Serving drinks. No masks. Not passive aggressive, but aggressively aggressive mask deniers. We did the tour, which was outstanding, but it led us to buy based on the winemakers recommendations. But after seeing the tasting room and patio operation, we have massive regrets. Any business that would reply to a google review criticizing their COVID protocols with: Response from the owner:Our employees make their own decisions as to wearing a mask as all Americans do. should be shut down.

To the previous reviewer “Chris.” Stay in your safe space and don’t venture out with the world. I have ZERO problem with this winery being maskless since I’m freaking vaccinated. Chris-stay home & away from people. It’s called vaccination & I’ve had Covid-it’s like the flu because I enjoy working out, eating healthy, and living my best life. Thank you to Alcantara & Arizona for affording adults to choose how to live their own life!! People scared of Covid should stay in their own homes & avoid the rest of us living life! 🤙🏻

We searched for a winery that had a vineyard, and we were elated to find this close location with good reviews. Although there is a sign that states mask must be worn at all times, apparently this rule does not apply to those who work here. Upon entering and looking at the menu, we were immediately annoyed by the presence of a family not wearing masks as well as the person serving them food. Clearly, this violation corresponds to one who does not care about science and health regulations. As she was gleefully laughing and breathing over their food while serving them with a smile. We will never return and strongly suggest before you go to please reconsider.
