This is the worst place to try to get information from. Either they dont answer at ANY extension or they dont know the answer to a question & just transfer you until you get tired of repeating your question. The website is worse but no one can answer me why its missing info & Im in dying need for information on programs for my children time is of the essence but apparently they have all the time in the world😩

My two children have loved taking part in the swimming lessons during COVID-19. It is very well organised and all safety procedures are enforced. We highly recommend the programs at Camarillo YMCA.

I have been taking group excessive classes at the YMCA for a long time now and have never been disappointed. I love that they have a great variety and that the instructors are super friendly and knowledgeable. They help you get to where you want to be, and give you modifications so that any level of fitness can take their class. I highly recommend this place. It is so welcoming, it feels like home.

Wanted to share my experience with the YMCA in the time of COVID-19. Saturday was my first day back at the physical site. I had been doing some classes virtually, but wanted to try their new system out. I took Deannas Core class. I had to register for it ahead of time, but the process was easy. The class itself was great. A small group met outside on the blacktop, 6 ft away from each other. We did not have to wear masks while exercising, but they have a thorough check-in procedure with a temp check, waiver, and sanitizer. I felt very safe and comfortable there. They moved the gym equipment to two rooms now, and you dont even need to use your hands to open the restroom door anymore! So if anyone was thinking of going to the Y again, I can highly recommend it!

Both my babies have gone here for both summer camp (since before they started K) and after school camp (since K). Now theyre going into 3rd grade and we are always thankful for the amazing staff and the high level of care they receive.Over the past few years, my kids have been in everything from horseback riding camp to robotics camp, and cooking camp to sports camp. If they have ever not fully loved the camp, the staff was more than accommodating and let them switch (even though we signed a contract and they had 0 obligation to let us do so).My kids ASK to go to camp and ask us to pick them up late so they can spend more time at the Y. They are in an environment that is not only fun for them, but has kept them safe and helped them grow.Paige is the best and has hired the best staff - its your best choice in Camarillo for child care!

We absolutely love the YMCA Summer Camps. My son has been a camper for over 5 years now. I am constantly amazed at the friendships has developed over these summers. The counselors are always amazing and open to parent input or questions. The variety of camps are wonderful. We can really customize his summer activities - the stem and science camps are personal favs. I highly recommend the Y summer camps! I am going to be sad when my son aged out. :(

Horrible summer camp programs. For the amount of money we paid for our kids is really not worth it. There is no structure at all. The descriptions of each program on the websites were not Implemented. My kids went home everyday complaining how bored they were. It should be a fun experience where kids want to return everyday but it was definitely not the case. A miserable 3 weeks. They even changed the field trip schedule without any email notification. When I asked the lead supervisor all she said was it’s always been the same since June but we registered in April. A simple email would have been acceptable. I would NOT recommend their programs to anyone.

This review is specifically for the summer camp. There are legitimate safety issues with this facility. I would strongly recommend any family think twice about bringing their children here. Below is a list of things to be concerned about.1. There is more than one instance of a child being misplaced that we are aware of (including our own).2. The counselors were telling the children to drink non-potable water from the hand wash stations near the port-o-potties (non-potable means not safe for drinking). Luckily the children read the sign and figured it out themselves.3. The children in this overcrowded facility share 4 disgusting port-o-potties. Many children were holding in their bathroom breaks because of this.4. Our child got legitimately injured during a field trip and they did not inform us.5. There is almost no indoor space for the campers so they cook all day in the sun.6. Some of the counselors speak to the children in a not so nice way to keep them in line. I know children can be difficult to handle, but I have not seen this in any other facility Ive taken my children to. The counselors need to be more mature and probably need better training.

I would highly recommend being a part of the Camarillo Family YMCA. I just moved to the area from NY and joined this Y as a way to make friends and have an overall sense of community. Plus the workout classes are fantastic! They are accepting of all levels of fitness, and push you to be the best version of yourself. I love their cycle and Body Breakthrough class. Two thumbs up!

Our family loves the Y. We have been members since 2007 and have used many of the programs for ourselves and our kids. Our kids loved the going to summer camp and we loved that they were well taken care of and especially appreciated their camper to counselor ratio. I have taken several of the classes such as yoga, cycle, Body Pump and Zumba. The instructors are great and very helpful. Our kids are now able to use the Wellness Room and enjoy working out as well. The facility is clean and everyone is very friendly.

I have been a member at many, many, many gyms over the years. They each had their benefits however none of them begin to compare with the Camarillo YMCA. The staff are SUPERB, they offer a huge amount of classes that are all EXCELLENT, the members are DIVERSE, ENTHUSIASTIC and FRIENDLY, the facility is CLEAN, they seek and respond to MEMBER FEEDBACK and suggestions, they contribute in countless ways to the COMMUNITY and they GET TO KNOW YOU and call you by your name. It is a wonderful place to get and stay health and get uplifted!

Join the Camarillo Y if you are looking for a supportive environment to work out and - or unique programs for the entire family. The Y team and staff makes it happen day after day – thank you to Megan, Paige, Erica, Brian, Deanna, the staff and instructors. They are there through the wonderful and difficult days – ready with a smile, encouragement, or just a quick hello. The classes keep me going – spin, CX, and body breakthrough are my current favorites. Still body bump, body combat, and yoga are also on my wish list. The personal training sessions I completed helped with strength and form.Lastly, but not least, I had various teenage kids in the family join the CIT – Counselor in Training – Y Summer Camp program. They had an excellent time and I could trust that they were in good hands. In a nutshell, I have been a member since 2006 and highly recommend the Camarillo Y …

The daycare is far and away the best thing about this facility and the best gym daycare in Camarillo. If you have spent anytime researching this, you have to agree! Other gyms just sit your kids in a dark room with a giant TV. Not at the Camarillo Y!! There’s a great playground outside for exercise, and indoors there’s great toysβ€”and staff is hands-on with crafts and games and puzzles. Is the gym facility small? Yes. But does it get the job done? Yes, and really a great workout is up to YOU. The HIIT classes with Shannon and Paula are killer. The Zumba gals have a swinging time. Body Pump, Yoga, Kickboxing and other classes are always a great workout and fun time. All other staff is friendly and they really try to honor any comment cards or feedback that members suggest. The kids programs and sports are laid back and I love that the goal is good sportsmanship, skills development, and team work (instead of other intense league sports where kids are pressured into thinking winning is the only thing that matters). As you can tell our little family has been happy here at the Y over the last few years, and while we’ve been tempted to join more sophisticated high-end gyms many times, we’ve chosen to stay at the ymca because of the daycare and the comfortable cozy homey vibe. :)

I have been a member of the Camarillo YMCA for several years. It absolutely feels like home. When I started my membership, my son would attend the babysitting club and loved it, he has now moved on to camps and before and afterschool care. He is excited to start his day with the YMCA. The staff has always been professional and they genuinely care for their members and children. A few years ago, we had my nieces in the home with us and we were not able to afford 3 children in summer camp. I applied for Open Doors and received scholarship for my nieces to attempt summer camp. They were able to create memories that will last a lifetime and for that I am forever grateful. When time and schedule has allowed, I have volunteered to help raise money for campaign. The monies that are raised goes to assist families in need. Having been that family a few years ago, campaigning is very close to my heart. Other children in need are able to create lifetime memories. We have also participated in several sports, basketball, swim, soccer and flag football. Our son has enjoyed each sport and when one ends, he asks to join another. I would also like to point out, the before and after school care staff are amazing, professional and caring. The pricing for the programs and camps at the YMCA is comparable to other places with such quality. Yes, Boys & Girls Club very inexpensive, but it is a free for all there and field trips cost extra. My nieces attended Boys & Girls club for one week and there was very little supervision. You get what you pay for. Thank you to all the YMCA staff who have helped not only me, but my family. Thank you for loving my son and keeping him safe while I am at work. I am forever grateful for all you have done.

This Ymca has been such a blessing to my family. We moved here from out of state and quickly joined the Ymca. Little did i know i was joining more than a gym. My 3 boys love going to the daycare which in my opinion is what sets this gym apart from others i could have chosen. One of my sons impartially loves a worker in the daycare named Dana and we come in Thursday’s just to see her. It’s like one big family with the staff. Everyone is friendly and willing to help. As a stay at home mom, sometimes my only adult conversation is when i pass in the halls some of the sweet staff members there who have become great friends and they will ask you about your kids and your life. They really genuinely care about you as an individual. Erika over sports is amazing and very well organized and it’s been a much improvement from years past. Sweet Paige has candy at her desk my kids love to stop by and say hi for a treat. She is always planning such fun events my kids attend that is open to the public. Paula is one of the instructors and she is very good at what she does as well as a happy smile to see every time i go in. Then there’s Meghan she is the director at this location and she is the best. I can’t say enough good things about her. She knows all my kids names, she is friendly, and a listening ear. My kids love going in and saying hi to her. I know she is super busy but she always takes the time to say hi and for these reasons and many more is why i just couldn’t ever see myself picking a gym over this Ymca.
