I have been a loyal customer of Americas Best Contacts & Eyeglasses for over 20 years at the location in Kansas City where they always took excellent care of me. They knew me by my first name. Every time I walked in for any reasons, they greeted me with a warm smile and immediately ask me what they could do to help. Every time I needed a trial pair of contacts, they accommodated without question. I just moved to Minnesota about a year ago. And unfortunately, there is only one store close to me and they are the WORST. They are RUDE and so unprofessional. Its horrible. And their store reflects that. No one is in there when I go there. Its DEAD, just like there personalities. And now with the masks not being mandated, they have become the mask Natzi. I am a CUSTOMER. I PAY YOUR BILLS. When I walk into your store, I want you to treat me as such, no matter what. I see your reviews on Google and they are AWFUL. They are so bad, I would move back to Kansas City just because of them. I have been in management for 35 years, and I can tell you one thing, it all comes down to the manager. Keep in mind, youre making the rest of the stores look bad. Step down.

I was a little nervous to go in because the reviews where so bad but I can happily say my experience was 💯. I dont know if the changed out the old staff but everyone I talked to was very sweet and helpful. Not to mention the price cant be beat. Felt like I had to leave a review so no one is scared off about going in like I almost was.

Im going to review just like most people on this companys Google reviews - the customer service here is just awful. They are very unprofessional, short and rude. I just got a followup call from one of the staff people there and she answered the phone by saying oh hi is this.....ummm oh gosh....oh is this Monika? Oh wait no thats not right...wait yes it is, is this Monika? I almost burst out laughing from the unprofessionalism. I really hope this changes soon!This review gets 2 stars for the doctor who I had my appointment with - he was very pleasant and informative. Really enjoyed working with him. I also am giving stars for the price because it is very low. If you are looking for a place that you will have a pleasant experience, look elsewhere!

If it was possible to give negative stars this store deserves them. Avoid the Burnsville location at all costs. I purchased their no line progressive bifocal lenses and they refuse to warranty them within the first year. They will convince you to purchase overpriced glasses and tell you they have automatic lens warranty because they are the most expensive lenses they offer but then plead ignorance and claim they do not. Do yourself a favor and go with a reputable eyeglass company.

We recently visited this Burnsville American Best, we came from out of town about an hour away looking to get some pair of glasses with an outside subscription and they rejected us. There was only one customer there and we were told that they were busy all day long, but there was only one customer there. We left and decided to go to another place.

The “owner” of this place is a KAREN. I got my first contact exam back in September of 2019 and was given a trial pair. I didn’t return from my travels early in 2020. In February of 2020 they ordered another pair of trials but I couldn’t come back in to get the doctor to sign off on my prescription due to Covid. I was finally able to make an appointment on 4/24 and he said I had to pay for a new contact exam. This place is trash and their customer service is atrocious. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. Why does the doctor have to sign off for you to get your prescription? Do they not do their job right the first time? I will make sure all my social media followers spread the word about not stepping foot here.

Very rude receptionist!! Yelled at me in a loud snotty voice asking what my last name was. I spelled it out...nicely.She yelled again in a very rude, snotty voice asking if it was a D or K !!!!I just hung up. I WILL NOT be talked to that way. I WILL NOT do business there!!

I returned to America’s best after 4 years and was amazed by my recent experience! I was in an emergency situation where I needed an updated prescription and new contacts (last pair ripped) and my other eye doctor had a two week waiting period and the staff was less than helpful, which is why I call America’s best. After explaining the situation - the kind receptionist told me she could get me an appointment within 40 min. At my appointment the dr was super helpful - getting updated on my eyes and answering all my questions. I left the appointment with a backup pair of contacts and new prescription! The biggest surprise was the quick shipping for my contacts. I ordered on Friday and received them Monday - the quickest turnaround I’ve experienced! I will definitely be coming back!!

The people that work here are really helpful. I got my first pair of bifocals and the first pair were hard to get use to. They reordered different lenses at no cost that helped me see my computer screen better. The eye examine was free and the glasses were not that expensive. You can also get really cheap glasses if you need them.

They say there trying to do prevention measures for covid. But I just got packed into a small area with 5 other people. No direction then just yell for you to wait. Ok fin . But then she stops has us all wait so she can just shoot the stuff with an employee. Now they say Im not due for an exam. Something I had to schedule a week ago. But I can get glasses. Watch as 5 people where helped before me

I had a eye exam They sent home with the wrong strength contact, said they would have to order me the correct ones, told me that I have to bring the incorrect ones back to the store. Yes the package is open and 2 of the contacts are missing. Its a 30 minute drive one way to get there. To drop off the incorrect ones and they mail me the correct ones. Update I sent an email to the person that did respond to this and so far have not heard anything

Truly wonderful experience at Americas Best in Burnsville! This was my first time here and the service was prompt, friendly and very welcoming. Their selection of frame styles is great and everyone should be able to find a pair or two that they love. They had initially quoted me 2 weeks for my glasses to be ready to be picked up, but it only ended up taking 5 days, which was a great little surprise! I would highly recommend Americas Best to anyone looking for an eye exam and new glasses.

I’ve been wearing one a day contacts from here for about a year now. Today I had to rush to an eye specialist because my eye was so irritated and watering uncontrollably, I could barley open it. Turns out this doctor at this location wrongly fitted me for contacts and it has been causing little microscopic cuts on my cornea. Needless to say I will not be a returning customer here.

Having been a member of AM Best for many years but my last experience with them was TERRIBLE. My wife was trying to get a contact prescription and tried on 2 pairs of contacts and the second pair looked good when in their store so I ordered 10 contacts for $279.00 and once I walked outside I knew these contacts would not work out and I could not see out of them when driving. So I called AM Best one hour after ordering the contacts and told them to cancel the order and they refused to cancel the order. I even talked to the Manager and she even refused to cancel the order. So I called my credit card and explained the problem and also filed a fraud claim with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the BBB resolved the issue and got my funds returned and the order canceled. Be careful when dealing with this office you may get ripped off if your not careful.

Make sure if you go in to get contacts for the first time you tell the doctor the exact brand you want without knowing because the prescription is only good for 1 brand and they will pick the most expensive brand. All they ask is daily, weekly, or monthly wear and dont ask about the brand or tell you its only good for the brand they pick. I am stuck suffering now because my last contact tore before the 2 weeks was up and they waited a week after I placed my order to tell me I cant get the cheaper brand I wanted. Now I have no glasses or contacts with no time to go to the store to get anything due to working long hours and only having Sundays off and them being closed on Sundays

We needed a new eyeglass provider after Sears Optical closed. Google reviews of the Burnsville location of Americas Best made us a little leery of trying this option, but Im very happy to report we had a great experience. We were greeted warmly on a dreary rainy Saturday morning, right when they opened at 9, and we were competently served by Cassie. She was very pleasant to work with. Great price, also, for two pair of glasses for my husband after cataract surgery. Looking forward to seeing the final product and hoping that goes as well too. Great experience. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I was there for my eye exam as well as my 11 year old daughter. The eye exam went really well and the staff were very patient. When selecting glasses there was no pressure to purchase any of the higher priced items. It was great and I will definitely go there again.

Appointments are very easy to make on website. Build out for office was pleasant, clean, and convenient location. Selection of glasses seems more than adequate. I went for contacts however. I am a doctor, and although I am not an ophthalmologist, the optometrists seemed very well trained and their equipment sufficiently modern. They took their time, and were thorough with the exam, which is important when you are trying to get the most correct prescription. The pricing for contacts was very competitive with most online contacts sites (i joined their membership), which was surprising because most online sites do not have a the costs of many store fronts this company has. The fees for the membership are very reasonable and allow you to come in for a follow up exam twice a year without additional charge. I joined for 5 years. It was really a nominal fee. I traveled from out of state because i felt confident and comfortable with their service and prices. Overall, very happy.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Its been the biggest hassle to try to simply have my prescription validated. The icing on the cake was when the manager spoke poorly of the other company I was purchasing my contacts from. This is not remotely professional. I am now regretful I will receive free eye exams for the next 2 years.

Wow, I have never heard such poor customer service in my life. I left without getting the eye exam just due to what I overheard while waiting. First, my appointment time apparently meant nothing, as I came in early to fill out paperwork, as advised when I made the appointment. As of 20 minutes AFTER the scheduled appointment time, I was still waiting. While I was waiting, I could hear the staff working with other customers and answering the phones and unless you like being treated as though you are bothering them, I dont recommend coming here. One of the staff members answered the phone and I presume the caller said they were returning a call because the response from the staff was, You called me. Did you check your messages? After the caller was reprimanded for not checking his/her messages, she did look something up to determine the callers glasses were in and could be picked up. After ending the call, the staff member complained about the caller to the customer she was helping!!! What? Who does that? The commentary while working with the customer wasnt much better, at which time I decided after sitting there listening to this for a total of 30 minutes (the 10 minutes before my appointment, which I used to complete my paperwork, and the 20 minutes of waiting that followed), to just leave. There was no one at the front desk to tell and the only person on the floor was the rude staff member referenced above. Sorry, but the service is not worth saving a few bucks, especially since both Walmart and Target also offer lower-cost optical services for those of us without vision insurance.

We were looking for glasses for our 2 year old son. The lady helping us was super helpful! Very friendly and not pushy at all. She recommended that we go elsewhere because they didnt​ have glasses small enough. They did have glasses for kids though. She also gave us advise on things to look for when we do get glasses. She did mention how we could get frames elsewhere and they could put lenses in we wanted. I see they have a lot of bad reviews but we had a great experience here. Right when we walked in we were greeted right away and they helped us find an associate who could help.

We came late for my daughters contact class. She was frazzled from a day long volleyball tournament. The woman who helped her was amazingly patient and kind. It took my daughter a long time to get the contacts in. She never felt rushed or discouraged. Switching to contacts is a big transition for teens. The woman who helped definitely understood what an important moment it was for her.

Very poor Management!! I witnessed a manager drinking on the job constantly everyday. The District manager and store manager is RACIST!! I was told not to carpool with the assistant manager because I was told that others at the company would feel like it was favoritism. I know its because Im a brown skinned person. But its ok for all the white employees to carpool and hang out outside of work together. But not the brown people. The pay was total garbage. The contact len manager would always give a different prescription of contacts to patients if the correct trials were not in stock and without the doctors knowledge or approval . Then they decided to fire the assistant manager because he had became friends with another employee at the company. The assistant manager was told by the not district manager and the store manager not to communicate with the employee outside of work. Which I dont understand because people meet and become friends and even get married to people the have met on the job!! So the FACTS ARE the assistant manager or the employee was never written up about this issue. Oh yeah I forgot the are both BROWN!!! BUT needless to say the employees were both suspended for be friends. Sounds like a RACIST COMPANY to me. So if you are a person of color DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY. ESPECIALLY THE BURNSVILLE LOCATION!! Its so much more I could say. But I going to see a attorney because I feel discriminated against.

Dr. is always great! he’s amazing!BUTTT. My last follow up appointment, never have i been treated so rudely. The workers name was Leslie, she spoke to me so rudely and literally rolled her eyes at me multiple times while talking to me. Everything she said to me and to others was so snotty. Quality and customer service is horrible!!! My son was so excited to get his Monster Jam glasses and we have had nothing but problems! The lady helping him get them adjusted the 1st time complained the whole time saying she couldnt get them to fit because they were to big for his face. Then they have fallen apart twice in 2 months! We have gone YEARS with out a problem with his previous glasses so i dont feel like it is from miss use. I called to get them replaced a 2nd time and they told me the warranty I purchased is only good for one replacement! The glasses are less than 2 months old and now I have to buy a new pair!! CRAZY! we will not be back!!

Customer service was awful. Called to tell me my first pair of glasses was in but never left me a voicemail so when I called back they were very rude. Showed up to get my second pair which are very different from the first pair I purchased and they turned out to be the same exact thing. Lady who suggested the glasses clearly didn’t enter things right so now I’m stuck with 2 pairs of the same frames.

Unprofessional customer service. I ordered lenses with expedited shipping, was told theyll be shipped in a couple days. Five days later i called theyre not here yet. Then they make it sounds like its your fault no apology. The lady on the phone pretty much told me that Im so blind that it would take at least three weeks to produce lenses for me. Been a customer for 7 years never again!!!

Terrible my perception for contacts changed and they refused to give me samples as those are only for diagnostics. What is an eye exam then?Update when I tried to use another company for contacts they told that company the contacts wouldn’t work and my order got canceled. I paid for a service and got none in return. Avoid this store at all cost.

Machines & equipments are old and outdated. Had my eyes checked at a real doctors office throughout the years so I know what machines/equipments should look like. Something about the store doesnt make it appealing. Worst of all this is service. Staff is unprofessional. A lot of goofing around. Looks like they hired anyone who applied for the job/fit their schedule. You get what you pay for.

I have to be honest about my experience here, because it was pretty terrible.First of all, the store is dirty and has one of those cheap, unpleasant atmospheres.You have to be careful to read the fine print and factor in additional costs because you really wont be saving much with these glasses. I ended up paying paying over $200 for one pair, and the prescription was wrong.While the female workers were decent enough to me, theres this male worker who was rude and unpleasant to deal with. Unfortunately he seems to be there all the time.I would never do business with this place again.

I have been a member and customer since I moved to the area 2009 and even had my husband switch to where he was going. I usually get great service, however last time I went into get my contacts updated I had to wear a trial pair and was told that I just needed to come in and make sure they felt okay and had no issues. I was told I just needed to walk in and it would take about 10-15 minutes. I have two jobs and two young kids so coming in during the week is not really an option without taking time off work. Of course I show up this morning and they are too busy to get me in. Before I left a few weeks ago I made it every clear that what they were telling me was correct, come to find out today that In fact is not the case. I looked to make an appointment for next Saturday but the DR isnt in and seeing a different dr I guess is not an option. I guess all the other reviews are true and something happend with their customer service at this location and it has gone down hill. After 7 years looking for a new eye clinic that stands behind what they tell their clients.

It is so unfortunate that I decided to go to horrible establishment. The reason people make appointments is so you know when youre going to see the doctor. I have never been seen between 20 and 35 minutes of my actual appointment time. This is my third time having to come back in to do with contact issues and all I needed was my prescription and I sat and waited for 25 minutes while the receptionist answered phone calls and took walkins and was never actually given my prescription. After my terrible experience I will be paying yet again to get my contact prescription from another facility so that I never have to return.

I went in for my appt & Ive been going there for over 5 years since 2012 & they couldnt find my file?! So they had to do a new one & didnt have my correct prescription on hand. WTH, normally they get my glasses within 7-10 business days, now its 14 days!!! OMGsh headaches & cant see for 2 weeks and I work on computers!!! seriously. On the phone the lady kept cutting me off and saying that its always been that way etc. Love the eye Dr. but some of the staff, WTH! sorry to say I agree with previous ratings of this location.

Worst experience ever at the Burnsville location!!!! After I got done with my exam, I wanted to pay for it and they had a copy of someone elses insurance in my file. So I asked the receptionist Ginny to give my insurance card back. She said that she already did which is not true. She was so convinced that she kept repeating herself and didnt even want to consider that she could have been wrong. Finally, the manager, Paul jumped in and went through the files to find my card. Long story short, Ginny gave my insurance card to another patient and she didnt even acknowledge she messed up by giving my personal information to someone else, that was really unprofessional and could have been an easy identity theft issue.Her reaction was: Oopsy daisy, Paul. I will be demoted now? , she said that jokingly. Seriously!!!!! Thats just ridiculous. I get mistakes happen but I would have been content if she actually acknowledged what she did and just asked for an apology. I would like to thank Paul and Ilhan (another staff member) who were professional about it.

Very dissappointed. In a word, sloppy!This is the first time Ive gone for an eye exam, I can still see well but have noticed I have hard time focusing on things up close and its getting worse. I got a recommendtion from a friend to go here and I regret not looking around more first.When I got there the staff ws friendly and helpful, and the pre-exam went well. But when I got to the doctor it felt like he had better things to do and he spent only fifteen minutes on the exam. No explanation of what he was testing or why. Then concluded with Lets talk about your prescription. I wasnt even sure I needed one going in but the way he approached it seemed like a foregone conclusion.Their selection of frames was mediocre. I settled on two different frames, one that felt comfortable, one that looked sharp. The price was good, altogether under $300 for not the cheapest frames. It took about a week for them to arrive, which is what I expected.Since then its been really unpleasant. Whoever does the manufacturing botched the job. One pair arrived with bifocals! Right frame, wrong lenses. Now Ive got to wait another week. The other ones looked right but I dont think my prescription is right. Im experiencing severe distortion and nausea and the right lense isnt actually working very well, stuff is still blurry and hard to see and I know thats a result of the sloppy exam.Not sure what to do at this point, but I wont be going back.
