I am absolutely in love with my hair! Alaina did an amazing job on my color (blonde highlights and low lights). I am clueless when it comes to what color and she got it spot on. Price is similar to other salons in the area. It was $147 for full highlights/low lights and a cut and style. Very impressed!

I just wanted to say that Gregg is the best hair stylist I ever had. He is also one of the coolest and nicest person you will ever meet. Gregg is very professional and has tremendous skill and excellent technique. He constantly keeps up to date on the newest hair styles trends. I highly recommend Gregg and his staff.

Mikayla’s been doing my hair since around 2015. She is the ONLY person I trust with my hair - especially color. She always takes into consideration what’s possible with your hair type and texture when showing her inspiration pictures and explains the process very thoroughly. The whole time you’re with her feels just like “girl time”. I did have to take away at least one star because the owner does make some very inappropriate and unacceptable political comments that are simply biased and not factual. It’s basically all he talks about. If it weren’t for Mikayla specifically, I would have left a one star review and would never come back.

I had the opportunity to have my hair taken care of by Amanda, she completed a Relaxer treatment and a cut on my hair that has not been to a Salon in over a year, and it turned out AMAZING. I have very frizzy, curly hair naturally, and I got so sick of using a straight iron at home, and I am so glad I gave the treatment a try, I am far from disappointed!!Not only that, the place has some other really great Stylists, from being a fly on the wall for 4 hours, lol, I noticed the very positive, and actually very loving atmosphere, of what they do, who they do it for, and I am certainly coming back, Amanda, for a coloring!!

I need to start this by saying that I have had some awful haircuts in my life so it took me a long time to get the nerve to try someone new. But I am so very very glad that I did. Greg was fantastic! My color was a disaster and is now beautiful! And I believe that my cut is the best I have ever had, no kidding. I absolutely mean that. Greg took the time to combine my face shape, my age and the fact that I am not good at styling my hair and came up with a cut and color that truly compliments me! He is amazing. First of all I will say I gave this place one star because you cannot give no stars and still right a review so here goes. I made an appointment and the stylist I was given was a so called “Master stylist” yeah maybe 30 years ago she may have been a master stylist. I could have gone to Great Clips or Cost Cutters and gotten a better hair cut. I went in for a trim on a super simple haircut and left horrified. I have an A Line bob and so it was just in need of a trim and a little uplift. I stressed how I wanted it to look and that I did not want to lose any of the length in the front 3 times before she started to cut. The back is shorter which is fine but she not only took all the point and length off the front it now is a straight across cut almost as a bowl was placed on my head and I look like an Amish boy!!! Her hands shook as if she had Parkinson’s and that scared me a bit. Also the front is so uneven and one side is longer than the other. I will now need to wear my hair up until it grows out more in order to have someone fix the damage! I traveled 2 hours there and 2 hours back with my husband as we were in town for a getaway to shop and pamper ourselves. Big mistake for sure. I highly recommend that anyone looking for a nice style do not go there. Don’t let all the 5 star reviews fool you because by far it is the worst salon I’ve ever been to! I think maybe the owner should re-evaluate who he keeps on in his salon if he wants to continue keeping business. Again save your money and go somewhere else!!

Came in after reading some reviews with a pretty rough hair situation with a diy bleaching gone wrong and couldnt be happier I choose here. The staff are all very friendly and well qualified. The shop is clean and inviting, even if it doesnt look like much from the outside def dont judge by the outside alone. I got set up with Mikayla right away and wow is she a miracle worker! She not only salvaged the spotty bleach job but worked with me to get my hair to first a gorgeous blonde and then a stunning silver grey which Id been wanting to do for ages. I really appreciated how conscious she was of my hair health and wanting to keep it looking and feeling great through what is a pretty intensive process for getting to the silver grey. She was very up front with the costs of everything and talking me through the process so there were no surprises. Shes super friendly and easy to talk to making it a highlight of my day when Id go in. Everything turned out amazing! Definitely my new go to hair gal and place!

Took my wife there for a haircut, 4 hour drive round trip and looked absolutely NOTHING like the picture she showed the so called stylist! WAY uneven beyond words, not to mention Her haircut looked like the so called stylist cut her hair blindfolded! A person should feel great and beautiful leaving a salon, NOT upset and in Tears! This review should be a ZERO star review! Do yourself a favor and DONT GO THERE!! Especially to so called stylist Carolann! SAVE YOUR MONEY! Even a 2 year old could cut hair better! WORST haircut experience EVER!! I would Advise ALL to do yourselves a favor and STAY AWAY!!!!!! FAR, FAR AWAY!!!!!

Alaina is the best!! Before coming to The Look salon I was indifferent to past haircuts at other salons, they were just fine but nothing great. Every time I see Alaina I LOVE my hair! She always does exactly what I want, she’s super friendly and affordable! Now I wouldn’t go to anyone else!

I have had nothing but great experiences at this salon. One particular instance was when my original hair stylist was out sick and I needed a color done for a competition that weekend. I had extremely limited availability, but the salon worked with me to make sure I could be seen. Gregg, the owner, was the stylist that took on my appointment. During it, he not only colored my hair, but he went through some recommendations on cuts that would benefit my facial structure and how I could do certain make-up as well. He definitely did not have to spend the time teaching me, but it was very much appreciated!!! You can tell he cares about his business and goes the extra mile for his clients.

I showed The stylist the hairstyle i wanted, which was the classic comb over, & what I got was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like the video of the hairstyle i showed her . After I urged her two or three times after she kept redoing it that it was not what I wanted she just urged me that it was my hairtype that wouldnt let me have the style i wanted, ALTHOUGH I WOULDVE LOVED TO HEAR THAT FROM THE BEGINNING BEFORE SHE CUT MY HAIR SHORTER TO TRY TO ACHIEVE THE LOOK I WANTED THAT SHE KNEW FROM THE START I COULDNT ACHIEVE WITH MY HAIR TYPE. Ultimately, I paid nearly 100 dollars (including products to get it into that style) to look like I have a Damn rat on my head, not to mention that the right side of my hair looked like she wore a blindfold & snipped away at everything that couldve been there. Bottom line, DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON! Their stylists are friendly & I liked the atmosphere but the haircut & styling itself was just absolutely dreadful, Stevie wonder can style my hair better than that salon ever could by ten fold.

This is how I found Gregg Bakken, Owner and Master Stylist at, THE LOOK SALON, in Burnsville.When, I scheduled my appointment, I mentioned that I was a first time client. Unbeknownst to me, Gregg had set aside an hour and a half for my appointment which provided an opportunity to talk about what was working with my current style, the shape of my face and head, my profile and the features he wanted to accentuate. I have NEVER had a better cut and style NEVER!!I, of course as we all are when going to a new stylist, was feeling a little nervous and anxious but knew within minutes of having met Gregg that he is passionate about hair, style and products.
