My grandmother who is 84 was a resident here for over 4 years. She is bed ridden and can not walk. About a year ago she fell out of the bed and broke her hip. Then just a few weeks ago she broke her femur. When I questioned the staff and DON no one could give me answers. My grandmother laid in her bed with a broken femur for weeks before she was finally given the proper medical treatment. I was highly upset that my loved one has been n horrible pain and nothing was being done about it.This is the MOST unprofessional uncaring place I have ever seen. The director Tara even laughed when I questioned her about my grandmother.I would not recommend this place to anyone! They are understaffed and just dont care. She was removed from this facility as soon as I discovered how bad things really were.

My initial impression was was good because I did not detect any bad odors in the office area and on front halls that would lead to the units. The residents that were in the front of the building were friendly, clean and well groomed. The employees that were in the dining area and front halls were friendly and smiled. The front office employees were nice and professional. The DON was friendly and professional and very busy. Very patient and accommodating to the residents who interrupted our conversation numerous times. As for the care I can not say. Due to not detecting any odors and the behaviors and attitudes of those I did come incontact with, I would say it is definitely a good sign of great care and management. I have alot of experience in longterm care and I can tell It is worth a second look or further assessment whether you would want to work or bring a loved one to live there.

My mother has been here for little over two months. Ive give it time to settle, reported things to D.O.N and talked to a man that is over complaints I believe. It has gotten a little better . But there is still no team work with the cna and there is one nurse that is ALWAYS attitude and her answer for everything has been cna are allowed breaks. Their allowed lunch. Umm yes I know this ,that is where team work is suppose to come into play. My mother has gotten a gash on her hand it was handle very professional by the upper management. BUT she is still afraid of certain cna and she say they say mean things . I know to take what mom says with a grain a salt, but when she tells me yhe same thing everytime ,there is a problem. Gonna try one more time to get it straight. But if you can afford it place your loved ones elsewhere.

I have been very happy here. I had a sister write about how good it has been here as well in the local paper. I’ve been very pleased...some of the CNA’s could use some more training at times. 2/3 UPDATE: Upon admission back into the hospital, my grandpa has been diagnosed with severe dehydration, malnutrition, KIDNEY FAILURE, and COVID-19 (none of which he came with) all due to the negligence of this facility. He also lost 22 pounds in the 10 days he was at this facility. Absolutely disgraceful. My grandpa has been in this rehab facility since January 21st. My poor grandma has been trying to get in contact with someone regarding her husband every single day, multiple times per day with NO response back. He now has tested positive for Covid-19... which for a place that doesn’t allow a single visitor is a whole other issue. Please tell me how visitors aren’t allowed BUT 2 strangers can be roommates with no barrier between them and no mask? Please tell me how visitors aren’t allowed BUT this facility can hold a job fair inside for strangers to come to.My grandma has called daily where they transfer her call and no one answers. She calls back over and over and over again. My grandpa has dementia and is confused to begin with. After an entire week of not being able to speak to ANYONE, my grandma decided to show up and demand for my grandpa to be discharged this weekend. Obviously he was not able to go; but, miraculously 10 minutes later my grandma receives a call that he’s having to be transferred by EMS to the ER due to severe dehydration.I truly would not ever choose to send a single family member to this facility. It has been nothing but neglect from Day 1. Then adding on absolutely zero communication or regards to family members is pathetic and inexcusable. During this time that family members can’t speak or see the patient on the inside, you better believe the bare minimum should be to call these poor families back. The facility should be ashamed of itself. All my grandpa got out of this “rehabilitation” center is no progress to his broken hip, more confusion than he started with, and now, COVID-19, which with all of his previous medical conditions could kill him.Word of Advice: DO NOT SEND YOUR FAMILY MEMBER TO THIS FACILITY.

Because of COVID I am not able to visit my family member. I think that they are receiving decent care, but since I can’t go there I have no way of knowing. What I do know is that since my family member has been diagnosed with COVID I have been treated like I don’t matter. I have left over 7 messages over the past 5 days asking for a doctor or a nurse to return my call and provide me with an update. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME. Imagine if your loved one was potentially dying of COVID and no one cared enough to pick up the phone and update you. Further, they won’t even put a call through so that I can talk to her. I don’t live near the facility, so I had to have a cell phone delivered to her room so that I could talk to her. This level of apathy is appalling.

I am currently a resident of Alamance Health Care , when I got first got here everyone was very nice , food was good and had plenty of CNA’s to do the job and they not be stressed out , recently they put the CNA’s on 12 hour shifts and things went south really fast . Management told them there would not be anymore staff shortage they would be fully staffed , turned out not to be the case . They asked to be put back on 8 hours and they were told you either work 12 hours or get you another job . Most days and nights they are down to 2 aids 3 or 4 on a good day or night , CNA’s have found other jobs and left , some nights we have no aids , slow response time on call button response , wait 3 to 5 hours before someone comes in your room to see what you need . Food at times you cannot tell what it is , sometimes food comes out half cooked , one time potatoes came out on my dinner tray hard not cooked done , little sweet garden peas some in the bowl are done and some are hard as a rock , no salt , food comes out cold , my bottom sheets sometimes go for months without getting changed , I have called my ombudsman several times to file a complaint and have called the state and filed a complaint , not heard anything , mentally ill patients and demontia patients are on the same floor as normal patients and all the time wondering in my room , they have men and women on the same floor , don’t like that at all , one man rolled into my room telling me I need to get up we got to go , he must have thought I was his wife I certainly did not know who he was , one day a lady working in the office come in here asking what I liked about Alamance health care I honestly could not think about anything positive . There is a nurse on day shift I think the world of her name is Carole and she cares so much about her patients and a nurse Vynthis on night shift I likeThanks so muchIf you are reading this review and are considering this place for a loved one I could not recommend it at all but don’t take my word for it read other reviews

I recently had a stay here after being in the hospital... if you need rehab AHCC is the place to go. They have compassionate and caring nurses and CNAs (like Tiffany and Carol) and they came when I called for them. All of the OT and PT staff treat you as a person and listen to your concerns. They push you to do more than you think you can, but you always feel safe and comfortable. They listen and are readily accessible to the patients. They explained things and listened to me a whole lot better than another facility I went to. I strongly recommend this place for short term rehab!

My wife had a bad stroke. She spent 3 weeks in Moses Cone hospital. My wife could not walk or talk while there. On the last day there l was Informed she was being discharged today and I had no choice. Peak Resources and Liberty Commons which I visited said they had room and took her insurance. I thought either of these would be perfect. Well I was informed they both declined her why I still do not know-- I guess they play God with peoples lifes. Sarah at Moses Cone told me it is there or nothing. Never had opportunity to check it out and people at work told me not a good place. Well that may have been true years ago but let me tell you tottaly different now!! Place was clean and beautiful dining area.No odors in the place some rooms are dated but they seem to be working on that. The 1st day my wife was there she was in a wheel chair sitting by nurses station. The 2nd day she was standing at nurses station!! I CRIED!!! AND THE REASON THIS PLACE IS SO WONDERFUL IT IS BECAUSE OF ALL THE STAFF THERE! By far nurses and assistants to all managers especially head nurse Catherine are the reason why this place beats all those other places who think they are GOD

Im absolutely shocked that this facility has 4 stars. We have personally dealt with so many unprofessional, non compassionate workers here in every single department. Our elderly family member has dementia and UNC hospital sent her to this horrible facility for physical therapy. We were not sure how helpful this move would be but chose to trust the doctors that this was a positive move. It was not. From day one it was clear that the staff here has zero training or understanding of dementia & other memory care illnesses. By day 3 we had a nurse meeting us on our visit to ask, nearly begging are you taking her home today? Is she leaving now? And it happened again the next day. We explained that we were having assessments from long term care facilities in the area and hoped to have an opening to move her asap.I felt completely insecure about leaving our family member in the care of these people who very obviously wanted her gone. One day, we ce to visit and there was a yellow liquid on the floor along with some dark green pieces. My spouse began cleaning the area and another nurse saw her and poked her head into the room loudly shouting, whats wrong? Whats wrong with it? We explained that there was a substance and were told its just greens. She dropped her plate this morning. After my spouse continued to clean we found 2 broken pieces of the plate on the floor as well. So the staff basically let us know that its perfectly acceptable for an old woman to walk around in a room with pools of liquid and food on the floor. Let alone the plate which certainly could have been used to injure herself. Any time we spoke up, we were treated like pariahs by the staff. And we visit nearly every day. Just imagine the people who have no visitors, no family and no one to advocate for them. The fee to stay here is far higher than we were told initially. Upon her arrival at this place, we were told $150 per day. Received a call today demanding a payment for the 12 days in total amount of over $3,100. The communication is non existent.... until they want their money. Which we gladly paid of course. Do not allow these vampires to feed on your loved ones.

Please never send a loved one here. Dad was dumped here by ARMC because Im an only child &had no family to help me care for him at home. When he 1st got here they just left him lying there with no pillow under his head nor a blanket on his cold body. He had been there 2 hrs when I arrived, &had laid there with no pillow or blanket the whole 2 hrs til I finally tracked some down. He was in so much pain, not having pillows caused him discomfort. The next day when I came in he had dried up red jello all over his face, the aide had fed him jello &never wiped his face (which led to a huge painful boil on his chin). After being there 12 hrs he began to change, he began shaking uncontrollably &his eyes were rolling into his head. He was unresponsive.. Dr. Beth came in around 2pm, felt his bladder &said he feels really full, &told the nurse to catheterize him so he can be drained. He couldnt urinate on his own. Well every hour that went by I kept asking the nurse Are you gonna catheterize him like Dr. Beth said? Somethings wrong. The nurse would say Yea, Im gonna get to him.. yet shed go right back to her chair to lazily sit behind her computer. More hours went by &she STILL hadnt put the catheter in! He was having seizure like activity at this point &was comatose! I told the nurse &aide something is badly wrong! He wasnt like this the day before he got there! The aide nonchalantly said Hes ok.. he spoke this morning, so he is a little bit responsive.. &she just walked out! By spoke to her she meant grunted, because all he was able to do was grunt. I complained to the nurse &her response was Maybe hes having anxiety, Ill give him another lorazepam to see if he calms down.. I said omg you cant do that... He looks over drugged, as if his body isnt capable of processing all the meds hes on, he looks like hes going into a coma! Well she didnt listen & tried forcing a Lorazepam in his mouth. Like I said he was unresponsive so she couldnt get him to take it. I told her if she didnt call 911 I was going to. Its ridiculous he had laid there like that ALL day long! I reminded her again she still hadnt catheterized him. So she then checked his diaper &had nerve to say to me Well his diaper does have a bit of wetness in there. So he IS able to void some on his own. And she still wouldnt catheterize him like the Dr. had ordered 6 hours earlier! So I kept on til they called 911 &when he got to the emergency room the nurse there said to me Omg, he was SLAP full of urine, I cant understand why they didnt have this poor guy catheterized. He was obviously in extreme pain. When the ER nurse catheterized him he filled up not one bag, but he slap filled up 2 and 1/2 bags!! He was soooo backed up with urine it was causing his kidneys to shut down! He nearly died that night due to the negligence of this home! The Dr. said all the meds they had given him had backed up in his system b/c his kidneys werent able to filter them &thats why he was comatose. The ER nurse kept saying my dad is a very sick man &how she just couldnt believe that the nurse at the nursing home didnt listen to the Dr. &how she never catheterized him &how dehydrated he was too. My dad was so neglected at Alamance health care. The ER nurse even asked me what nursing home he come from &told me I needed to go write an online review. So I am! Needless to say, after spending all night in the ER getting treatment, my dad returned to his old self again the very next day. It was crazy how he was talking & completely normal the day he went into the nursing home, but within 12 hours of being there he was comatose & unresponsive. And within 12 hours of leaving the home he was back to normal! So glad I got him outta there when i did. Imagine if I hadnt of been there! He wouldve died at that nursing home. &They rarely come in to check on patients. I saw an old lady in the hallway w/her head hanging halfway down to the floor for HOURS &nurses just walking by ignoring it. I complained to a nurse about it &she had said Oh shes ok. Just unbelievable!
