I saw Dr. Skidd in December 2015 when I was having an acute case of double vision. He looked at a brain scan that was taken of me and concluded that a small bleed was the culprit and that I would have to wait months for it to clear, there being no treatment. I sought a section opinion from a neuro-opthalmologist at Weill Cornell. He was amused by Dr. Skidds opinion, because the bleed was on the opposite side of the nerve that was not functioning properly. As he told me, that nerve does not cross the midline. From his tone, I gathered that this was elementary knowledge. Having ruled out Skidds incorrect diagnosis, we found the real cause of the problem (nerve demyelination, which is a chronic condition for me and on my chart) and addressed it with a temporary fix (a prism for my glasses) and by increasing the frequency of my treatments for the underlying problem. My vision was back to normal in a couple of weeks, no thanks to Dr. Skidd.
