I had such high anxiety about going to the dentist due to a terrible past experience. Recently my husband had a toothache and needed to be seen immediately. I decided to try Hargis after hearing multiple raving reviews. I thought it was an exaggeration. Who could actually like going to the dentist?When I brought my husband in the entire staff was very friendly and personable. They explained everything in detail and made us feel at ease.When he was finished they convinced me to get a check-up. I sat in the chair, trying to hold back my anxiety and tears. The dental assistants and Dr Hargis made me feel very comfortable while they did my x-rays and checked my teeth.I ended up having to come back for a filling. They explained the billing in detail and helped me to understand my insurance.Today I had to get the cavity filled.I was extremely anxious that I would feel everything like I did at my previous dentist. They made sure that did not happen. I didnt feel a any pain.Add Im sitting here writing this review, my mouth is still numb but my anxiety is gone. Because of their wonderful professionalism and care I am no longer afraid to go to future appointments. Leslie and Gerald Hargis are really excellent. Both are very warm and approachable, and seem to genuinely enjoy what they do. Gerald has a quiet confidence that I get the sense comes from a vast wealth of experience, while Leslie has an unparalleled bedside manner and does some really excellent work. They are not overly interventionist (which I greatly appreciate), but when work has needed to be performed (on two occasions in my case), Leslie has been meticulous, efficient, and deeply compassionate. The staff are also really fantastic and friendly, and all seem to know me by name. My wife has had similar experiences. In our travels up and down the east coast over the past 10 years, these are hands down the best dentists weve been to.

I love this dental practice. I love going to see Dr Hargis and her staff. I have always been very anxious and nervous about going to the dentist but now I actually look forward to going to my appointments.! Something I never thought I would say. The environment is wonderful! The staff is excellent and very caring. They make you feel at home. I feel so lucky to be a patient there!

The care given here is beyond goes above and beyond the normal standard of customer service. The staff is all very warm and welcoming, and both Dr.’s are very knowledgeable and thorough. This is truly fantastic dentist to have, and with being one of the only true family dentist practices out here it makes dental care a breeze.

I called for an emergency “out of the norm” visit, was a new patient, and they took me in the same day anyway. From the moment I walked in, they were AMAZING!After I cried for a minute, Casey understood my absolute fear of the dentist.Dr. G. Hargis came in and I spoke with him briefly before his daughter, Dr. Hargis came in. She took my mouth and started working and looking and talking about what we could do. I have been going to Dr Hargis for the past 12 years and have always had a great “painless” experience.Today his daughter, Dr. Leslie treated me and reconstructed a couple teeth that had cavities. She’s a chip off the old block and really cares about her patients.The whole practice along with the assisting staff are just too funny when it comes to ACC sports.UNC, Duke, and NC St. are well represented and there’s no shortage of smack talk going on.I can’t imagine going anywhere else for my dental health.

Been going here for a few years now. Dr Hargis was great and has now handed the practice off to his amazing and accomplished daughter! I do 6 months cleanings and recently finished my Invisalign program .Now I have my last Invisalign retainer and am doing a teeth whitening program. Thanks Dr Leslie!
