I am an mtf trans girl who moved to VT on 6/2/19. I had been staying at the c.o.t.s. homeless shelter at 187 church st until the nightt of 6/26/19 when a man staying at the shelter assaulted me. I went to the pride center asking tjem for help dealing with the shelter staff explaining I had no place to stay and they said they would advocate on my behalf. Its now friday eveningbat 630pm and the pride center never contacted me nack! Ill have to sleep in battery park all weekend! If you are thinking of donating $ to this organization please flush it down the toilet instead. When a trans girl needed help they.literally did nothing for me!
Safe Space is a wonderful program that provides support for LGBTQA community and the general community. I had questions about how to respectfully speak to someone who is transgender. I didnt feel judged for my ignorance on the topic and they gave me words and concepts that helped me be more informed and respectful. The Pride Center is who you should call if you have questions about any LGBTQA topic.
Great people. I follow the Pride Center on Facebook in order to keep up with events.
If youre lgbtq, gender fluid, or just making it up as you go along the rainbow trail and youre visiting Vermont, stop by the Pride Center in downtown Burlington. News, events, support, computer access, a free library and great #gay #lesbian #lgbt connections of where to go and what to see. Amazingly friendly peeps and safe warm meet up space.
Beautiful people and amazingly friendlyAttended the IFA class and had tons of fun
The Pride Center is a small nonprofit doing big things to serve the lgbtqia community in vt. They have services, events, and social opportunities for everyone; do great social justice work; and put one helluva pride celebration.
