This the only hair shop I go to and feel comfortable paying hair shop prices any other time Im going to a friends house and paying in house pricing.

If you got short hair definitely do not go here, got my hair done last week and I have to take it out cause it looks like I had it in for a month in a half. She claimed she could do short hair but didn’t even have the decency to just not continue my braiding my hair if she couldn’t fully blend the hair. On top of that didn’t even have my right color braiding hair. I paid 170 to just waste 4 hours of my life. Paid money that I necessarily didn’t have to just look a mess for a week. Horrible service.

I Love going to Oumy Hair Braiding to get my braids done. They are pleasant and I am always happy with the results!!!

Not the tidiest of places, but most braid shops arent. Oumy took me as a walk-in, which was cool since it was the day before Christmas eve. They didnt have my hair color, so Oumy took me to the store to get the hair and discounted the price of the service. I was in and out...no bsing, no long breaks or leaving to do something else...I was pleased. Some of my twist started coming out, which was expected, giving the length of my hair in those areas...I appreciated the effort to still try and braid the areas. I went back to the shop and they re-braided the areas with no problem or charge. I would go back for service.

This was the next place I tried after my old place had closed! I liked it at first, but a week ago I went to get my hair done and was told if I bring my our it would be 140 and I did. However, once they saw my hair which was the African pony hair and they put two people on my hair to go faster the owner changed the price to 150; and she informed me that the hair is hard to use and she is putting 2 people on my hair. As if my future business did not matter and I always give a 20 dollar tip. Im about professionalism and good customer service bc that stuff matters. 1 week later and half of my braids started to come undone, I call thinking that they would be nice about and at 1st it seems that way. But when I got their she was talking about me in her language and was acting as if she is doing my a favor! I pay for a service that was done poorly and instead of apologizing and correcting it she didnt apologize she was being rude while her sister was fixing the mess they made in the 1st place. I will not be going back here bc the, unprofessionalism I received I should not have. If you were unable to do my hair with the African pony hair you should have say so. Since my business is not important to you Ill take it else where and become someone elses repeat costumer.

Oumy Hair Braiding is a hidden treasure in Burlington City. I have been going to Oumy for two years for my Kinky Twists. Oumy is very professional, and consistently provides excellent customer service. My twists always look great, and I get tons of compliments on her (and her teams) work! And they work fast...she always gets me in and out as promised... Oumy rocks!

Coming here was truly a great experience. my appointment was set for 9 today and i was told it would take 5-6 hours to do my micro braids. i arrived at 8:30 and she invited me inside. she began on my hair and soon after someone else came in and assisted. i was fully done by 11:50 ish. (around 3 hours) which was about HALF the time i was told it would take. the shop is very clean and the owner was very kind. bring cash with you because card isn’t accepted. i have 0 complaints and my hair feels amazing. i’ll be back again in the future!

I found this place via Facebook and the owner was extremely professional on the phone with scheduling. I then got Senegalese twists that took nearly half the amount of time of any other braiding shop which was great. I then scheduled for my mom to get tree braids the next day which also turned out great and was a professional experience for her as well. We will both be returning in the future!

Great place to get hair braided. Go with your hair fully washed and conditioned. They have packaged hair on site cheaper if you bring your own, basic prices.

I have been going to Oumy for years. Whenever youre not happy with your hair. She is always willing to redo it to please her customers. She is the owner and is always pleasant. I have been in the shop when customers are rude and she still keeps it together.

This will always be the braiding shop i go to whenever i want braids! Me and my sister have been goin here ever since we were kids and we have always been pleased with our hairstyles. I got fulani braids today and they look exactly as the picture i showed to the women braiding my hair. I deffinately reccomend this braiding shop out of all the shops in this area they are professional and get the job done. Also they hairstyles are REASONABLY priced.

For those that want to wear braids for several months and have to return for redo/touch ups, request to have the same stylist that did it the first time. Otherwise, you will be disappointed and will waste your money.The owner is nice ..sometines,.but most of the braiders are Unprofessional. I had the crochet style done by a very nice braider. HOWEVER. when I took my daughter to get hers done, the service started with no questions or concerns if the braid pattern was good or anything. Which is important for crochet style. My daughter was not happy with her hair. I took.it out 2 weeks later and vowed never to go back.

When its time to get my hair braided I come here . The owner is friendly and I have been coming hear for years and always receive compliments on my hair whether its twist or micros and usually I am out in about 4 to 5 hrs.They are quick and the braids are neatly done.

Do not waste your money. I had micros done here. The girl put glue in me natural hair and of course it broke off terribly upon taking them out, because she was oo stupid not to braid past my hair and then out the glue on. The owner was very unprofessional. When discussing the matter, she repeatedly hung up in my face. None of the girls in the salon are licensed to braid, and the ladies are very rude. I will be filing a complaint with the NJ board of cosmetology.

My hair style ended up looking fine, but it took a while to get it there. First, I made a reservations, but they did not have it. When I sat down, I noticed several cobwebs. Then it took me a few tries to tell the braider how thick I wanted my hair. She said she didnt speak English well. After a while, I just gave up. It also hurt terribly. If it werent for my wedding happening in a few days, I would have walked out of the shop with part of my hair in braids. Half way through braiding, she got a phone call from another customer that was waiting for her. Thats when it really got bad as she was trying to rush. When she went to dip my hair in hot water, she put a smelly towel over me and that still didnt stop me from getting burnt. I have had my hair done many time before and this is the worse experience I have had at a professional establishment. I will never go back to this place.

Hoping to get my hair braided soon. Trying to grow my hair back out :-) Called the shop and the young lady was very nice and listened to my situation. I hope all goes well...post reviews after visit. Gave 4 stars for customer service.

Horrible, I had to explain 3 times how I wanted my hair.

Where do I start on this horrible experience. First let me start with the good, they were willing to box braid my hair at 5:30 at night great! But is goes down hill from there, I get to the salon I tell the girl I need my hair washed, she said OK never told me there was a cost to wash my hair or anything. She starts to wash my hair and I smell a very familiar smell but its not what the bottle says, I know that much for sure but I couldnt pin point the smell at the time she goes to condition my hair and pulls out a small hotel brand conditioner to do my hair WHAT ARE YOU CRAZY, i just so happened to look and see she washed my hair with AJAX dish detergent. I am pissed off at this point. she then tells me they dont have my hair color, the standard hair color 1B and wants to put a color in that like 3 shades darker than my hair color. Then wanted to charge me a extra $20 for the length I wanted which was mid back again hell no. I will not be getting my hair done here. Then had the nerve to tell me it would be $10 since she washed my hair ARE YOU CRAZY you washed my hair with AJAX. I am so pissed right now.

The owner hung up on me after I expressed my displeasure with the services provided. She refused to understand where I was coming from, nor fully understand my complaint. She told me I dont have the right to complain after one week Honestly I didnt like my hair but the young lady that did my hair was extremely nice so I just said ok Ill let it go, now one week into these braids 8, yes 8 have fallen out!!! she said your hair is short, I let her know the short ones are not the ones falling out! not to mention the braids are not the size I asked for anyway.She insisted on redoing my hair with an attitude, I dont think I trust someone with 0 customer service to fix my hair. I am hesitant to even return to the salon because of the attitude I received over the phone. all I can say is WOW!I paid $180 for my braids and they are worth about $50. I do not recommend this salon, nor do I feel remorseful for these comments. The Better Business Bureau will know about this.I apologize for anyone who feels this review is too harsh, I am just being completely honest.$180 down the drain pipe smh, money back guarantee? I would love to see that! I even gave my braider a tip!

This place is a dump! Let me start by saying if you own a business keep your kids at home. The owner had one of her kids in the shop and he was having a temperature tantrums and hit me. The owner didnt even apologize! My micros were all different sizes and the way she spoke to the other girls she had helping her was very unprofessional. If you cant control your kids dont bring them to your place of business and dont be rude to people who are working for you because you cant handle your own kids.

I went here to get crochet braids done and the experience was mediocre. The first braider comes in and complains of her hand hurting, so i had to wait for another to come in. The next one who comes in brings her baby. I then have to wait while she gets her baby situated. She does my braids and she has another woman fill in the back of my head. This woman seemed very unexperienced; she sprayed mousse on me twice. After leaving i realized there were a lot of loops because the hair wasnt pulled all the way through, the back had a lot of empty spots, and they kept stopping to do something for the baby.

Always rude. Never days thank you
