My family member in the area needed skilled nursing and rehab recently and we found Peninsula Post-Acute online. When we called to ask about the facility we were so lucky to have spoken with Michelle and Chello in the admissions department. They took the time to answer all our questions and made us feel comfortable having our loved one go there. The rehab team was great! We appreciated the nurses patience with us as this was all new to us and understand that the transition from the hospital is not always easy. Our family member really enjoyed their stay at Peninsula Post-Acute and they have the best therapist! I would recommend anyone who needs skilled nursing and rehab to go to Peninsula Post-Acute.

I am so grateful for this facility and the hard-working staff there. My uncle recently stayed at PPA & he had such a great experience, I had to leave a review on his behalf! Staff communication went very well and they updated a few times a week. I really felt they cared about him. There was also a meeting with the rehab team, where they really explained what his goals should be and it was aligned with ours. The nursing staff was very compassionate and attentive to his needs. Would def recommend this facility to any family/friends in the area!

My gandma suffered a stroke and was sent here from the hospital to help her learn to speak and eat again. I was worried I’d never be able to hear her say “Hi chula” ever again. Thanks to this facility, the whole team, helped my grandma regain that ability. (Things like being able to speak and walk we often take for granted) I’m so thankful. Thank you peninsula post acute! You are our heros!

I’m grateful for the treatment this place has provided. My auntie recently got hip replacement surgery and even though it was a difficult recovery, the staff was very caring and helpful towards my auntie! I appreciate how everyone was so accommodating to her and I wanted to thank the staff workers again for being so professional and kind.

I had a great recovery and rehab experience with all the staff here after getting a knee replacement. The environment of the facility is very uplifting even at my weakest moments it’s like everyone cares. The atmosphere is very positive and I will be returning in August for rehab for my other knee too! Shout out to the therapists especially Johnny the Libra, Kristina from the Babylonian empire, and Arnel, Bella!

The staff at Peninsula Post Acute are caring and attentive. The rehab team is excellent. If you need rehab this is the place to go. The kitchen prepares yummy food. Catering to all different diets. The nursing staff are kind and take care of all your needs. The administrator, Shane McCormack, is hands on with everything needed for all the residents and staff. He will be there for you 24/7. Trust me he will. Highly recommend from rehab to wound care.

The team is focused on each individuals care and making sure they stay safe while on their road to recovery. The MDs, the nurses and the entire team are great and make sure to address all needs. I now know why the Rehab team was named best in the area, they really are wonderful! All the staff are in house and no one is contracted which helps for the care as everyone is familiar with each other and the same rehab team works with the same patient each day. Really feels like a family. The facility is really clean. Its a really positive environment and has everything someone needs to get better! Thanks PPA team

Very disappointing. They admitted my mother-in-law knowing there were people with COVID. Or that’s what it seems like since I couldn’t get a straight answer from any of the elusive staff and lack of retuned calls. They left her in bed for 4 days after she had knee surgery. No PT and barely walked around. They failed to let anyone of us know this except for day 3 that we needed to come get her due to the Covid outbreak. Now we are stuck trying to figure out what to do without any support from this facility. They have subjected her to so many risks and complications. I’m in healthcare and using the excuse of not knowing or we weren’t prepared is bs. Oh and now it will be hard to get in-home care now that my mother-in-law was exposed. Thanks a lot. It’s your job to be prepared and communicate. Remember: DO NO HARM?

Peninsula Post-Acute is an excellent rehab facility. Their team is warm, knowledgable, and responsive to familys needs. I have been privileged to work with many members of their team, including Kim, Raey, and Cello-- all excellent professionals that take their patients lives and needs seriously. I would absolutely trust this team with my family members.

I’ve had the opportunity to visit several friends that have been forced to go to this facility. I do not recommend it. My friend that stayed there for almost a month and it was her third trip. The staff, I could tell just does the very basics. Numerous times I asked that they make sure that she has eaten some quality food and each time she’s had a couple nibbles and theyd take it away. She begs me to go out and get her some decent food. I asked the staff to journal her PT, pill schedule and her guest schedule. It was never done. On several occasions she was supposed to have PT which was walking out of her room down the hallway and back. That is not physical therapy. What part of this place is rehab? One other friend I’ve visited could only make it two days and demanded to get out of it because it was so filthy and there was no PT arranged. Some of the people are very sweet and they try their best. There is no joy in this place.

Ok,After 32 days at Mills- Peninsula Hospital, I transitioned here for 7 days. Feb 14-23. I was very weak. I was transported here at 12:30 pm on Friday. It was the lunch hour. I repeatedly asked for lunch. I had nothing at hospital. Finally, they brought a meal at 2:30. Then, the first dinner night- no meal tray. I barely could walk asking for dinner. No one knew what to do.8:30, someone found scrambled eggs. The second day of 8 -Saturday, my lunch was my roommates lunch and she had to wait an extra hour while they hunted for it. Saturday night Day 2. No dinner tray again. I barely could walk trying to find out what happened. Night shift ignored. Then Day 3, Sunday morning- no breakfast tray. 3 missed meals never replaced. I asked for the manager ( Sunday) because I was so hungry. I had lost so much weight a month in hospital until dialysis was started 4 days before POST. I found manager, barely could walk end hallway and said unacceptable 3 missed meals. I was crying. My family lives 2,000 miles away and had only me to advocate. They act different when family members are there. At night, the CNA do not come when called by call button. My sheets / gown were drenched w night swears/ medical. I froze because of this. I was alert, and a couple of times, I pointed they were giving me the wrong dose that renal doctor had put in computer and other meds. Because I was alert, but weak, advocating for my health without family. there, some young staff members, so called nurses, and people sitting at desks, very sassy when I asked questions concerning contact w renal doc and dialysis, meds that needed to be on time. There is miscommunication when they were scheduling my first outpatient dialysis 3x a week. Compared to the hospital of 32 days, I slept better. I really think the food is great... when it came. Facility is nice. Terrible (no) care at night. Garden is super. Daytime CNA Zach the most caring person. The PT was great. Contracted 3rd party. In all they skipped 3 meals first 3 days.

I was brought here after femur surgery and will be here for probably another week. I will update reviews as I go. I am going to try to give you a very fair and honest review. They are extremely shortstaffed. The Care Take nurses have about 30 seconds to come in and do what has to be done. Last night the nurse completely forgot to bring my pain meds. I asked for Tylenol a few minutes ago and a very sweet nurse just came in and asked whether she could see me after awhile because there are no nurses on the other side. If you do not have family support, I would highly recommend you not come here. If however you do have someone to stay with you from outside of the facility, you may be O K. The staff here barely does what has to be done and they give you not one second more than absolutely necessary. You will not have an advocate here making sure that you are well taken care of, or even taken care of. That is an understatement. I have had physical therapy twice and it was very good both times, but that is only one hour out of the day. The food is better than average. More to come in a few days. After 12 days in this rehab, I can unequivocally say that I do not recommend it and would not send anybody I care about here. They are completely understaffed and have no time for quality patient care.

I strongly recommend Peninsula Post Acute Facility to anyone who is looking for professional management and excellent clinical service. The administrator, Shane, director of marketing, Brooke, and case managers, Kim and Sami, are always going above and beyond for their patients and family members. Also, the facility is always maintained as a clean environment for nurses, doctors, and most importantly patients and family members. Regaining health takes time and patience, and I believe Peninsula Post Acute has the qualifications in every clinical and service aspects to help patients regain the control of their health and confidence to rejoin the community.

My mother received appallingly terrible care at Peninsula Post-Acute. She rang for assistance in getting to the bedside commode during the night; the call was not answered and she fell trying to get to the commode by herself. Another time she was left sitting on the commode for over an hour. On more than one occasion, the commode was not emptied for several hours. She often did not receive her medications in a timely manner. She was not offered a shower or bed bath until she had been in the facility for several days, and then not on a regular basis after that. She was not treated with courtesy and respect by more than one employee of the facility. I have no idea how this facility gained the rating they claim to have achieved from Medicare. I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone. If I could give a negative star rating I would.Addendum in response to Shane McCormacks answer to my review: It is kind of late to say you wish to address my concerns now, since my mother passed away about 3 weeks ago. While I do not blame Peninsula Post-Acute for her demise, I cannot in all honesty say your facility did much to prevent it. Your response the first time I left a message for you was welcome and gave me hope that my mothers care would improve. I was very disappointed when that did not prove to be the case. I left other messages for you that were never returned. As a matter of fact, I did not hear from you again until the loss of some valuable personal belongings could have possibly been traced to your facility. That leads me to believe the expressed concern is nothing more than a sham. I certainly wish I had had the chance to check out Peninsula Post-Acute before my mother was transferred there. It is not a facility in which I would place anyone, with the possible exception of the people who feel it merits a positive rating.

My 90 years old mom recently had hip surgery at Mills hospital and was then transferred to Peninsula Post-Acute Rehab. She stayed there for about 5 weeks. I am truly impressed with the staff. Their concerns and cares were excellent! My mom told me that they took care of her as if she were their own parent. The nursing staff, CNAs, and the PT/OT staff are highly professional and helpful. They are so sweet and try their best to help. Id like to recognize Annie and Janet for their extra kindness and gentleness as well as CNA Nancy, JOJO, Shannon, Elisabeth, Marta and Zack. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a 5-star care!Administrator of PPA, Shane McCormack is a great leader! He provides me his personal cell phone number which allows us to ask any questions and express any concerns and even after my mom was discharged. He responded quickly and nicely. And his team members such as Maria, Gabby, Amanda and Nursing Director, Aurora have been absolutely wonderful! I believe with Shane’s leadership, Peninsula Post-Acute has the qualifications in every clinical and service aspects to help patients regain their health.

I have been to Peninsula Post-Acute 3 times now, and of all facilities I have been in, they are simply the best. The facility is very clean and they recently re-painted accent walls to all the rooms. When I was at hospital, I even called them to request room 1051 and they saved it for me.Most nearly all of the CNAs here and nurses are wonderful and I have a few favorites: Sandra, Angela, Nancy, JoJo, Zack, and Maria. On top of that, I always see people in the hallways helping who I know arent nurses and I appreciate them to. Especially Hildy!I would encourage all people to come here and meet with the team to tour the facility to see what I am talking about. I know I dont have to because I trust them with all my care needs. I highly recommend all people needing Skilled Nursing Care coming here to stay with them. Plus all the wound care nurses and other doctors from Mills come straight here and see me several times a week.I couldnt be happier!

My mom entered Peninsula Post Acute after being at Peninsula Hospital . All of it was sudden and brought a lot of uncertainty . What has impressed me the most about the facility is from the moment I stepped into the building, I was treated with professionalism, friendliness and care . Someone said to me the building may be old but the staff is excellent ! They have lived up to that testimony by going above and beyond my expectations . They not only care for my mom as if she were their own parent, they care for me as the family member too . I have been in the Bay Area from Southern California since my mom became ill in January . Having he PPA staff come alongside me like a family member has helped me more than any words I can write . My mom has made such an amazing recovery due to the excellent care of nurses, doctors, staff, CNA’s, therapists etc. i have stayed at the facility all day with my mom and see the consistency of every staff member. Everyone there loves their job and cares from their heart . I am forever thankful for the impact the people of Peninsula Post Acute have had on my family . I highly recommend anyone to this amazing and excellent facility . Eydie Miskel
