My family and I recommend for folks to go elsewhere. We received the impression our counselor was not invested in us as a couple, a family, or as individuals during many various therapy sessions. We did not feel we were truly being listed to. There were even times we did not feel we had the full attention of our counselor. It was as though we were talking to someone who had no clue what they were doing and I apologize if that seems like an exaggeration or if its offensive but thats how we were made to feel. Many sessions were left seeming like it was a waste of time and money from lack of structure, pace, treatment...etc. We did not feel progress was made from too many issues not being addressed even when we explicitly asked. We did not feel we were ever on the same page, like our therapists approaches was a not a good fit for us amd made things worse. Our counselor often stared at us blankly while we wait for help, and talked so slowly we felt we were being taken advantage of time/money-wise. We were given advice or guidance that later, other counseling sessions agreed with us, did not make sense at the time and was actually not helping us as individuals, and was not helping us as a couple. Sometimes we felt we were being coddled instead of helped. Sometimes we felt our counselor would not mediate, more often than anything, we felt we werent being heard. We did not feel we had a good relationship with our therapist. It felt as though there was more coddling to draw out sessions than to help overcome issues. Billing/paying was not convenient and months after we broke our sessions off to attend sessions elsewhere we were suddenly billed for more money from previous sessions that were incorrectly figured.
