Went to this facility for a consult for high eye pressure after my yearly checkup at my other eye doctor. Waited about 10 mins until was seen and taken on several eye tests by the medical assistant. The Doctor came in after 30 minutes of testing with the medical assistant. The doctor made a diagnosis and was thorough in explaining what problems I had and the solutions to correct or slow them down. After presenting two solutions she asked quite quickly about which solution I would prefer. I was a little taken back as I didnt have much time to think about this.Either drops or laser eye surgery she said, well given little time to think and the success rate of the laser surgery being only three years until another surgery. I said the drops would suffice. Now they did have to dilate my eyes rather heavily for this appointment which caused quite a nuisance when I went to leave the office as I have a sensitivity to bright light. Especially after spending an hour in an office of lower ambient light. I stepped out of the office and was blinded by the sun, so much so that I looked like a drunkard crawling down the street. I eventually got back to my car but obviously could still not see well and had to wait approximately 1 hour before I could even contend driving back to my apartment. Originally I was supposed to go in to work but obviously based on circumstance had to divert an otherwise different course. If I had known the level of dilating they were going to do a little advanced notice would have been great so I could have arranged alternate transportation or even taken a day off work.

Jerome was very helpful in obtaining the specialized eyeglasses I needed. I am also quite happy with Dr. Meallet--I still may end up changing to another doctor due to the fact that reception/staff are not always friendly or helpful. On more than one occasion, I have received incorrect bills and they have not asked the doctor for a prescription renewal (to the point of my having given up on getting the prescription). The phone tree is difficult to get through and I have been terribly frustrated at waiting over 20 minutes, getting disconnected and having to try again. It is faster for me to drive there (also 20 minutes), rather than wait a second time. Which is what I did and the message about my prescription still has not reached Dr. Meallet.

This place is great! Jerry McCall is awesome and takes the time to let you go through all of the frames and ask as many questions as you would like!

Dr. Tannenbaum removed my cataracts and implanted tri-focal lenses. The surgery was literally (LITERALLY) pain free. The recovery was pain free. For the first time in thirty years I am not wearing glasses of any kind. After 8 weeks, my vision is between 20/20 and 20/25. I am astonished at the improvement in my vision and comfort. You would be hard pressed to find a more competent and caring staff than at A Center for Vision Care or a more meticulous and skilled surgeon than Dr. Tannenbaum. I rate my experience as Off the Scale.

Already diagnosed with glaucoma 15 years ago, I was referred to Dr. Tannenbaum by my primary physician. She has successfully conducted surgeries such as cataracts and trabeculectomies to salvage my vision (which was already compromised before I became her patient). Her office is clean, with staff following strict standards especially during these Covid times, making me feel safe. Dr. Tannenbaum thoroughly reviews your history, present condition and future options. I recommend her without reservation.

The staff and are thorough, helpful, and very nice (most recent exam visit I had I saw Dr. Liem). Their technology looks to be state of the art. Always lots of people coming and going every time I visit, and everyone always seem very pleased. Their frame selection is bigger and better than most other optometry offices that Ive visited. Last, but not least, in all my years of wearing glasses, Jerome in their Optometry dept has been a tremendous help, from advice, helping select, ordering, and adjustments. Best in the business.

Young girls answering phones gave me one rate for exam, next call they gave me lower rate, assuring me the lower rate. Went in, they asked for higher rate, I gave them the info I was given, so they complied.Purchased frames and lenses, took 3 weeks to receive, the peripheral seemed not helpful, was retested, and reordered, they came back with wrong curve salesperson specifically wrote it down.As I ride public transit, received a call after 2 weeks saying glasses were ready, I show up and the salesman tells me nothing came in and their computer system had alerted me by mistake. He said the office was aware it was doing that with others as well and he told them to adjust the misinfo, but they never would. Minor (?)inconvenience as I had lost 2 hours of my time getting there and returning to workday.Almost ANOTHER 3 weeks received reorder, eyes would not adjust,I asked for refund of exam, lenses, kept the frames at least. The office phones went out making it hard to contact once at Christmas, then again about 2 months later. What can one do?!I left that circus.,

Costco has nice staff and adequate glasses but ... I felt rushed through my tests. On Costcos behalf, they noticed a serious eye issue. I was referred to A Center for Vision Care. Ive had an EXCELLENT experience here, from the call to arrange my appointment, to selecting my glasses with Cassie (a joy!). The receptionists were professional and courteous. The optometrist was personable, took her time, and was very precise. Dr. Mandelberg was also professional, precise, and warm. The equipment is state of the art. Most importantly, I was made aware of important eye issues that may have been overlooked ... in a rush. You can get where youre going in a Smart Car or luxury car. Everyone deserves this level of quality.

My review is specifically about the optician section of ACVCI. I can always count on Jerry (Mr. Jerome McCall) on to help me with selecting frames, explaining charges, adjusting frames when needed, and just answering all the questions I have. I could go to other opticians, once I have my prescription, but I love that I can depend on Jerry to give me great service, every single time.

I went to A Center for Vision Care initially for a Pterygium (AKA surfers eye) and Dr. Meallet treated me. The medical office is new, exceedingly clean, and the staff is great! The doctor was kind and very easy to talk to; he explained everything clearly. Surgery was suggested as a way to ease the irritation and possible further growth over the iris. Dr. Meallet very successfully surgically removed it in a quick procedure at his surgery center. Everything went amazingly well, with little discomfort and a short return to normal. The post-op care visits were easy and well-organized. There is little to no scar tissue on the eye - that is how amazing this surgeon is! Of course, I was hesitant to go through any operation, let alone on my eyes! However, Dr. Meallet put me at ease, and I was willing to allow for the same surgery on the other eye, just recently. The results have been just as good as the previous experience. I highly recommend Dr. Meallet, and A Center for Vision Care. My husband and I also go there for regular vision checks, and they have a nice in-house optometry shop.

Terrible. The worst actually. I was referred by my sister to Dr. Meallet. I called to make an appointment with him. I was very specific in telling them I was a new patient that needed an eye exam and a fitting for contact lenses. They booked me for their next available. They called me days before to ask if I could come in earlier. I agreed. I left work early to be there on time yet they didn’t take me until AFTER my original appointment time. Then, they had me see Ray. He asked me for my current rx strength. I told him I was there for a new fitting and exam. He told me he is not licensed for that so I would have to book a new appointment with Dr. Liem. But I was referred to Dr. Meallet. He laughed and said Dr. Meallet is a surgeon who does laser eye surgery. As if he’s too good to do eye exams. Ray apologized and said they would take care of me next time with contact lenses and cleaning supplies.I made another appointment. Dr. Liem was very nice. I mentioned what happened at my first appointment and she told me Dr. Meallet doesn’t do contact lenses. That’s funny because my sister who referred me has been his patient for many years and she wears contact lenses. Dr. Liem did my exam and fitting. She pushed me to try a particular brand of lenses. I agreed but told her I wanted to price lenses on my own. I told her I needed my prescription. She said she couldn’t give it to me until she knew if I like the lenses because the brand is part of the prescription. I’ve never heard such a thing. I didn’t want to argue so I agreed to try the lenses. When I mentioned Ray said they would have something for me due to my bad first experience she said she would notify the front. I went to heck out and the front desk had no idea what I was talking about. They told me I could sit and wait for Dr. Liem to be finished with her next patient if I wanted the free goods. It was SO insulting so I left.I don’t like the lenses and I’m down to my last pair. I emailed Dr. Liem through the patient web portal asking for my prescription and telling her I didn’t like the lenses. Crickets. I tried calling multiple times today but their phone is not working (possibly due to the wind but I don’t know). I just emailed a second time through the portal. I’ve never had such a terrible experience. I’ll never go back.

I think Dr. Meallet is amazing. He corrected my husbands vision from 20/400 to 20/20 as well as dealt with another more complicated vision problem. Dr. Meallet removed a foreign body from my cornea this past week and it was quick and painless. Highly recommended.

Today I had an eye exam by Dr Alan Mandelberg. I told him how very happy I am with the lens he placed in my eyes after cataract surgery three years ago. The lens is a Tecnis Multifocal IOL and I can see perfectly reading or driving without glasses. I wore glasses about 50 years and it’s wonderful to no longer need them. Also I’ve had no eye problems since the cataract surgery. Many thanks to Dr Mandelberg for his expertise and excellent care.

I have always had excellent care from the physicians and staff at a Center for Vision Care. Their eye glass office is terrific as well. Everybody has been wonderful, friendly and always willing to help when it comes to how to get your insurance to pay. They are a very busy office only because they do such great work. I had to have one minor surgery in 2013 and they were wonderful with preparation andfollow through. I am going to have my cataracts removed this summer and would only consider having Dr. Mandelburg do my surgery. I spoke to a doctor at Jules Stein Eye Institute by chance a few years ago and he told me that the only office that the doctors go to in the San Fernando Valley from Jules Stein Eye Institute was A Center for Vision Care. I may grumble sometimes when I have to wait but I never feel I have to question their medical decisions. I think I have been going there for at least 15 years.

Update: I am happy to say that shortly after this incident I was contact by the office manager and Dr Tannenbaum and they were very apologetic and helpful. I have continued to go there and have had no further issues. After some time all considered I would recommend this business to anyone looking for an ophthalmologist.Original post below:I have been going to this center for a few years and always got the sense that they are trying to move as many people through as possible but I do like Dr. Tannenbaum. I recently had issues getting an important (so I don’t go blind) prescription refilled and was unable to get through to anyone. The prescription line goes to voicemail and the ones I left over multiple weeks were not returned. I tried calling the front desk and spoke with Monica who placed me on hold (hung up on me) once. Then transferred me to the voicemail line after I told her the messages weren’t being returned. When I called back again I told Monica that if I couldn’t get my prescription filled I might need to look for a new ophthalmologist and she said “maybe you should” and hung up on me.So that’s exactly what I’ll do and what I would recommend to anyone considering A Center for Vision Care.

Today, my calendar reminded me to look for a new eye care provider, having been a patient at A Center for Visioncare for over ten years. I have always been very specific with the offices and said I would come any time in order to have my appointment kept in a timely manner. This usually means coming in at 7:30 and getting first refraction appointment. When my previous doctor retired, I was given Dr. Meallet which was fine, but this time, after arriving at 7:30, I waited for over two hours. I didnt wait passively. After a half hour I went to the front desk to ask what the problem was; I subsequently went to the Drs. Assistant outside of an exam room to let them know I had been waiting an hour. After 90 minutes I went back to the assistant and told them that I had scheduled and arrived with consideration for their time and seemingly none for mine. When I went into the Dr, he asked how I was doing and I told him I was irked because Id been there since 7:30, to which he replied I couldnt have been there that early. I told him I had and his response: oh. (It was on the sign-in sheet as 7:30 and Id done the pre-exam with them right on time). Never apologized, never acknowledged beyond oh. He said, your eyes are fine, Ill see you in a year. I told him that would not be the case. Im far from a diva, but I feel the mark of a leader is to own a problem so as to be able to solve it. I wrote the story to the offices and never heard from them. Be advised. You have a right to ask for a doctor to treat you with respect and the only way to make your point if you dont receive it is take your business someplace that will.

I made an appointment gor my 92 years old mother with Dr. Maellet at 1:45 pm today September 25, 2018. On Friday Center for Vision left a msg reminding us of tge appointment on Tuesday at 1:45pm. On my calendar. I wrote that the appointment eas at 1:45pm and made planes accordingly. When we showed up at the front desk, the receptionist told me that the appointment was at 1:15pm so therefore moms appointment was canceled cause she was half hour late. I argued the contrary and told her about the appointment being at 1:45 and that even the voicemail msg said the same thing but anyway she was reluctant to let my mother go in anyways and she have to place her in a different time at 3:15pm on the same day just to punish her for being late. I argued that what was the big deal cause another times they always maker her wait an hour or an hour and a half and tgat their excuse always is that the Dr. is running behind and we have to be patient. Why we accomodate them and they cannot accomodate us?Why their front office staff suck so much and are so out of touch of people needs?Im sure they have complaints but until now they have not made any changes cause they still suck at giving good customer service. This front desk person or a wall person name Lindsey is rude and has no manners, she doesnt even try, is like hitting the wall and not being able to go nowhere! If you have any complaints you end up with the same people youre complaining about. It sucks!!!This will be my last time bringing my mother here! We have a choice and I ll make sure she doesnt have to comeback to see their dog faces!
