Thanks to US Canine, Bubby is a different dog. He knows how to relax into his canineness now and looks to us for leadership. We ended up at US Canine after rescuing a yellow lab who’s generally great, but has some intolerable quirks that could be harmful. He was probably a backyard breeder dog who wasn’t properly socialized. We went through the immersion program together (Bubby stayed on-site, and we attended training sessions on-site with other dog owners and their dogs). These training sessions are especially helpful, as we get to see other dogs, their owners, problems and the behaviors that caused and can correct them. Bubby has been home for about a week now, and we’ve already progressed to hiking outside without a leash. The two pics here show him doing liberty line training and then roaming around part of our property, unleashed. He’s happy, gets along with our other dog, we have a harmonious household and now we’re slowly working towards getting him out into the world more. Thank you US Canine 🙏🏼💜

Like many, we adopted a puppy in 2020 during quarantine. We got our baby, Tucker, from a rescue organization in Hall County and quickly realized that our previous experience with a very outgoing and confident labrador retriever was not any help at all. Tucker was a super chill, happy, and playful dog inside our house where he felt safe, but literally shut down with fear anywhere outside of our house or back yard. He was terrified of EVERYTHING: unusual noises, leaves blowing in the trees, cars, people, bicycles. We could not take him for walks in our intown Atlanta neighborhood at all. Our veterinarian recommended that we medicate him for his crippling anxiety. We are so thankful that our petsitters suggested a consultation with Angie at US Canine. Angie immediately diagnosed Tucker as an introverted super weenie and recommended their immersion program. The results were nothing short of miraculous. Tucker learned how to relax and be a dog. We learned how to take charge in a way that allows him to do that, no medication necessary. Tucker is still a super weenie, but now hes a happy and balanced super weenie that enjoys multiple walks per day and is no longer paralyzed by fear and anxiety. Angie is the REAL DEAL and her crew at US Canine is amazing.

We adopted a Husky who has a number of neuroses about six months ago. Though we should have educated ourselves better before bringing him home, Angie, Josh, and the rest of the superb US Canine team showed us he could learn, grow, and change -- if WE as his human leaders were willing to do so as well. As several other reviews have mentioned, the US Canine behaviorists generously share their extensive knowledge of canine psychology (which is crucial) to help people understand and approach their relationships with their dogs, but they are focused on developing the human side of the equation in improving those relationships. This can be a bit of a process, and everyone on the US Canine team is extremely patient and willing to go far above and beyond to empower dogs and their humans to live happier, more balanced lives.

Angie Woods is truly amazing. I first used her services 15 years ago when I needed help introducing two new dogs to our other two dogs. Now, 15 years later she is helping me with our miniature poodle that has aggressive behavior and difficult to walk (pulling, barking, snapping). Already, after our first appointment (only one week into the program) I have seen a huge improvement with our poodle. Her behavior now allows me to enjoy walking with her.The training philosophy has more to do with the owners than with the dog. We are taught to be the pack leader instead of our pet feeling like the leader. I am loving the new relationship we have with our dog. I believe our dog is happier, too.In addition to helping us with our poodle that is in the Immersion program my other dog is being helped, too, mainly by training me to be more in charge of my dog. My other dog is very anxious. Already I see a huge improvement with him as far as him feeling more secure and safe.I cannot praise US Canine enough. A truly amazing program and philosophy.Angie is a true Dog Whisperer.Thank you US Canine for creating a happier home and better relationship with our dogs.

4 years ago, I rescued my dog Ladybug, a 50 lb American Bulldog, from a shelter. We assume she didnt have the best past based on her physical state at the time and her lack of confidence / mistrust of other people and animals. Once youre a friend of hers, she is loyal and loving and perfect. However, her first time interactions with people werent pretty. She would bark aggressively and she even snapped at people a couple times. Most people who met her and experienced this behavior became terrified of her (her breed doesnt help). Therefore, I started living a very isolated lifestyle... never inviting people over but always going out and leaving Ladybug at home. Many of my close friends were never allowed to even meet Ladybug. I avoided negative interactions by avoiding interactions as a whole.Ladybug also wasnt good with other dogs. Walking her in public caused extreme stress, so I would try to find remote places where I knew other dogs wouldnt be. And I knew my time fostering dogs was over as soon as I adopted her.Well about 6 months ago, I put Ladybug through U.S. Canines immersion program. And to say that its been life-changing doesnt do it justice. Now I can have friends over. People who knew Ladybug before the program say that shes a different dog. She has all the same sweet personality quirks, but her confidence level is so much greater, and she trusts ME as the pack leader to handle situations and tell her when to stop barking.Im no longer terrified to take her on walks, and I even brought home a foster dog about a month ago... something I NEVER thought would be possible with Ladybug in the home. And theyre doing so well together!!I recommend this program to anyone and everyone. I feel like it gave me my life back. The entire team at U.S. Canine understands dogs in a way that I didnt know existed. It is worth every penny.Even though I live over an hour away, I still take Ladybug to U.S. Canine when I need boarding. She LOVES it there and is so happy to hang with their pack -- something I never thought shed be able to do.Thanks, U.S. Canine!

There are not enough wonderful words to describe U.S. Canine. We rescued our 3 year old Rex from a shelter ... he was absolutely terrible on walks and wanted to attack every single dog he encountered. I adopted an adult shepherd from a puppy mill/hoarding situation and knew I was dealing with some issues that I was unfamiliar with (separation anxiety, bullying, etc). Fortunately, I enlisted Luke into the 2-week immersion program at U.S. Canine to establish a good base from the start before things escalated.I have learned so much more about dog behavior than I thought possible. Josh was able to really read Luke and give us some individual guidance on how best to teach and correct him. The change in him since returning home has been amazing! He is more relaxed and receptive to me and my other dogs. I feel much more confident in helping him to integrate into his new life now. This has been an invaluable experience!

U.S. Canine was a complete life changer for us and our dog, Damascus. Prior to enrolling him in their Immersion Program, he was barking, chewing up things around the house, difficult to walk, barked and growled at strangers, etc. It was a big stressor for my family. We decided to put him in U.S. Canines Immersion Program after a consult with the owners, Angie and Josh. During Damascuss 2-Week stay there, our family attended 2 training sessions with Angie and Josh, where they taught us how to act and work with Damascus the correct way. Finally, Josh brought Damascus to our house and worked with us in our home environment, where we practice putting the dog in the same situations that were previously troublesome. It was immediately apparent that the previous issues were no longer a problem.Since Damascus has been back home, its been absolutely wonderful. He is now the best behaved dog weve ever owned. I can take him off-leash on hikes with confidence that he will stop and come to me when called. He no longer barks, is great with other people and other dogs, and still has the loving demeanor with us that we grew to love about him.I cant stress enough how highly I recommend U.S. Canine and their trainers and staff. If you are having any issues with your dog that have become unmanageable, or if you just want to give your dog additional training to improve his or her capabilities, I would them in for a free consult. You wont be disappointed.

When we adopted our dog she was a perfect dog at the park, friendly, fun, and easy to walk. But her anxieties started to manifest in aggression towards strangers that, despite our research and effort, only seemed to get worse day by day. We could no longer take her to the park and our friends couldnt come near her. We started to fear that it was only a matter of time until she bit someone. Our vet had recommended US Canine and we decided to make an appointment for a free consult. Seeing the way Angie was able to take our dog and turn her from barking and snapping to calm and quiet gave us hope. We enrolled her in the two week immersion camp right there.Working with Josh was really wonderful, he listened to all of our concerns and talked us through their training and methodology, as well as trained us to be the dog parents our girl needed.A year from her training and a year and a half since we last took her to a dog park, we finally brought her back and let her play. We got our happy girl back and Reese is doing better than ever.I really cannot recommend US Canine enough. Its pricey and we were fortunate enough to be able to afford it, but the results have been more than worth it. They really do wonderful work here.

If you have an anxious dog, a highly reactive dog, or a dog who keeps you from being able to have people or other animals over, do not wait one more minute and call US Canine to set up an evaluation. My dog was highly reactive towards new men, I couldn’t have friends over because of it. She was also highly reactive on the leash, lunging or freaking out when bikes or skateboards or loud cars passed us. We had to stop going on walks because it became too difficult, she was terrified of the trashcans on the street. My mom and I were somewhat skeptical as we drove up to Buford, but when Josh, a tall guy (even more of a trigger for my dog), came around the counter and Nellie started barking and freaking out, he miraculously and calmly got her got to *immediately* calm down. He then approached Nellie and pet her. My mom and I were stunned. That has never ever ever happened before. We committed right then and there. They don’t claim to “fix” or “cure” your dog, but to train them (and YOU) to handle reactive situations. Now I know how to position my body, control my body language, and handle situations appropriately. My friend’s 6’7 black boyfriend came to stay at my place for a weekend (I mention that he’s African American because that was another huge trigger for Nellie), and we didn’t have one single problem. Not one. It’s not like she was his best friend, but she allowed him to pet her in multiple occasions, she sat next to him, she didn’t run around out of my control barking and scaring him. I cried when he left because I was so happy. It’s such a relief to know that I’m in control, to know that Nellie will not deter future relationships or friendships, that Nellie is happier and healthier and less far less anxious. Now, like I said, Nellie isn’t cured. She still gets nervous, but I’m far better equipped to help her thanks to US Canine. Previously I would get to the point where I would yell or force her to be pet or just leave. But the people at US Canine understand dogs like “regular” humans do not.Lastly, there is no other place I will ever board Nellie other than US Canine. I’ll admit I’m a bit of a helicopter dog mom, but I was never ever worried while Nellie was at camp. I know they will not let anything happen to her while she’s in their care, it’s so comforting. Whenever I go on a trip or need to board Nellie for whatever reason, I only send her to US Canine, even though it’s an hour out of my way. They give me such peace of mind.Give these guys a call. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate Josh, Angie, Joey, and all the wonderful trainers and caretakers at US Canine. They gave me my dog back, and for that, I’m forever grateful.

Compassionate. If we had to pick just one word to describe Josh, Angie and all of the US Canine staff, that would be it. Their ultimate goal is understanding your dogs sensitivities, energy, fears (the list goes on) and then finding ways to help them reach balance. Their techniques are not about dominance for the sake of being the boss but rather true leadership that dogs and humans alike can not only sense, but are drawn to and eager to follow. The effort that Josh put in to build trust and a special bond with our fearful dog Rusty is unlike anything we have ever seen. Many years ago, we had a terrible experience with a person we now know was abusive to Rusty in his care. We never thought we could leave Rusty with someone else besides family until we met Josh and Angie. US Canine is the ONLY place we can feel comfortable leaving Rusty. Its hard to put into words the feeling of inner peace that came with knowing Rusty was in good hands when we dropped him off for his two week program. For the past 8 years, nobody but family could put a leash on Rusty. No male stranger could pet him. The very first day we met Josh, he had Rusty on a leash by his side within 20 minutes. A week into his stay, Josh even gave Rusty a bath and held him in his arms like a baby. When we saw the picture of Rusty looking so content in Joshs arms, we were overcome with pure joy and relief. If there is any place that can help both you and your dog move closer to a balanced, harmonious relationship and life overall, its US Canine.

Angie Woods is an amazing woman! I rescued a Siberian Husky who was found roaming the streets. After working with my dog on my own for several months, it became apparent that I needed professional intervention. My Husky was extremely mouthy, to the point that my arms from hand to elbow were completely bruised. Although I was running with my Husky several miles per day, she was never able to rest and calm down. On the verge of giving up on this animal completely, a friend of mine suggested I call Angie Woods at U.S. Canine. After 1 day of working with Angie, there was a total transformation. Angie showed me that I was indeed the problem. She explained to me the psychology of a dog’s thinking and taught me new ways of interacting with my dog. It was such a relief to know that I was the problem because I realized changing myself and how I interact with my dog was completely within my control. Angie’s methods are completely holistic and humane. She is a true professional and her skills and expertise are invaluable. It has been many years since I first met Angie and I continue to bring my dogs to her facility for boarding and social interaction with the pack. After trying to work through multiple outlets we finally took the step of doing the two week program at US Canine. We felt like we were lost, but with US Canine we finally found our solution. One of the best qualities was the individual care and understanding that the staff takes with your dog. They made us feel very comfortable in how to fully understand the unique needs of our dog. After feeling like we were at a place where we didnt know what to do, their program finally produced a lasting and meaningful result. They have seen it all. It has improved our overall quality of life knowing that we now have control of our pup and the knowledge to handle any situations that come our way. I cant state how much it has helped.Id also add that it was quickly apparent that the staff truly wants to help you and your dog, not just churn through high volume in their training program. They werent pushy to oversell anything, and honestly worked to provide a custom program specifically for our dog. They truly want to understand what youre dealing with and provide a solution that best fits you, your family, and your dog. In addition they provide a commitment to your dog long after the program is complete providing a partner for the life of your dog. We happily board him here now when needed, and the individual attention and training is still applied. Cant say enough good things about Angie, Josh, and the rest of the staff. Thank you for giving us the freedom to enjoy an awesome experience for the rest of our pups life.

My husband Tom and I as newlyweds adopted our dog Cooper from the Fulton County Animal shelter. At home he was the sweetest dog, but we quickly realized he was a very difficult first dog. He wasnt well socialized and it was impossible to walk him without him getting so worked up and working up the other dogs. It got to the point where it was embarrassing to walk him because of how he was reacting and we had to go out of the way to avoid other dogs. It became so stressful wanted to give up. We even considered giving him back after a year of dealing with his leash frustration. We decided to try one last thing. We read about US canine and brought him in. Just at the assessment we knew these people were going to change our lives. We enrolled Cooper in the immersion program and it was the best decision and investment we made. Right from the start, Josh, Joey, Angie, and the rest of the staff showed they really cared about Cooper and knew exactly what they were doing. They took extra time with us at our lessons. They spent several hours helping us transition home. We still needed some extra help, and through free follow ups they really have shown their dedication in helping Cooper be the best he can be. We had no idea that Cooper can be so well socialized and they provided us with confidence and tools so that Cooper has manners meeting other dogs and people. We are so grateful to US Canine and how they have impacted our lives and our relationship with Cooper!

I have been taking my dogs to U.S. Canine for over a year now and they ABSOLUTELY love it there. Its funny how they act normal at home but when I say we are going they get super excited. Im surprised they are ready to leave when I pick them up. I love the pack and its all set up. They helped me with my male dog with training to the point we were able to find him a friend. With our male dog being a rescue we werent sure we would ever be able to find him a friend. They gave us pointers and direction how to find a suitable friend and we within a few months we found him a friend that is also a rescue. They are always there to answer your questions no matter the situation. Id refer anyone to them.

So sad story, me and my family are having some tough times with our dogs getting along. And we about ready to just say, we have to seperate them, one of them would be safer in a different home. Then we found this place and its been like a miracle. First time I went in, there had already been some great progress. For the first tine I can say in full confidence, that by the time were done, we will have peace among the animals again. So thank you for that U.S. Canine.

Weeks after we adopted our dog, we were having trouble with her to the point that we were going to have to return her - an action that would certainly have her put down. But Angie trained us on how to master our dog, and shes been a real sweetie ever since. After learning from Angie how to own a dog and be its master, I cant help but see all the mistakes that most dog owners make and never realize it.Angies training isnt for the one dog you bring in, its for YOU and every dog you own or will ever own after that. Add in the opportunity for our dog to day care or kennel with a group of other well trained dogs, you get a great deal on your initial investment. Our dogs always excited to return to U.S. Canine whenever we board her, which allows us to enjoy our vacation knowing shes in safe hands and having fun with a pack while she stays there.

Angie and Josh are the best. We took our dog there because she does not like people and becomes real aggressive, little did we know that most of her problems were actually things we were doing wrong!!! They have a great facility and great staff and we feel comfortable taking our dog there under any circumstances. Pack training helped her so much and we can not thank them enough for the great work they have done with our dog!

Our dog Major, a doberman pincher who I bought as a puppy, was completely an undisciplined dog who I wanted to put down, or put in a box and given away on the side of the street. My wife and kids begged me not to, and we enrolled our dog into US canine’s immersion program. I must admit I was very skeptical, especially for the astronomical price and MAJ’s historical behavior. As family we read Angie’s book, and met with the Josh, Angie and the trainers, I realized I was the problem. I should have been put down or put in a box and given away on the side of the street.Since MAJ’s post immersion training there has been a 180° turn around. The amount of time the staff of US canine spent with my wife, myself and our children is phenomenal. The staff at US canine are very professional, courteous and THE SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS when it comes to dog training, and dog psychology. Angie was able to meet with us and even come to our home to see how he interacts, and gave us a tutorial on home dog behavior and intervention. I also love the fact that he is part of US canine‘s family, and we can have still ongoing training if we have any questions for life. This whole experience has been wonderful. It has made me more aware of how to be a better dog owner, and it has made me realize what a wonderful Dog I have.I will definitely continue to do business with US canine, and I will say that the immersion program is 100% worth it. The entire facility, staff, location, and overall ambience is truly amazing.THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!

My daughter discovered US Canine after extensive research. She enrolled her recent rescue which was having some assimilation problems into our home. Although I wasnt the client I was still included in the meetings and training. The experience has completely transformed how I interact and manage all our pets. I have always loved my dogs and would have told you things were as good as they were going to be, but now our relationships are so much better. My advice to anyone that isnt 100percent happy with their pets is to do this for you, it starts there and Josh and Angie will equip you to succeed and be happier together.

We were at our wits end with our German Shepherd Finn because he was so dog aggressive. He was great around people , but around other dogs he would instantly go into fight mode. Our son brought his dog home from college and we had to keep the dogs separated 24/7 which was a total nightmare. We had to coordinate with the neighbors on when we would let our dog out to exercise so we could make sure their dogs were in. We couldnt walk him on a leash for fear we would pass another dog and there would be a fight. We hired multiple trainers, including a dog psychologist, who all quickly gave up on him. Thats when we learned about US Canine. They were truly our last hope. We scheduled and appointment with Angie and she evaluated our dog and suggested immersion therapy for him. We dropped him off a week or two later and they began the program with him. Within the first week, they had integrated him into their well balanced pack of dogs with very heavy supervision. Over the next four weeks they performed miracles. Josh was Finns case manager and he frequently updated us on the progress as well as having us come by to train us on how to eradicate Finns bad behavior. When Josh brought Finn home, he worked with us there for several hours as well. Now Finn gets along with our sons dog so well they are inseparable when he comes home from college for visits. We are also able to lets ours out back without coordinating with the neighbors. No more incessant barking and no more fence fighting. We take him on walks at several area parks and he behaves like a model citizen. We can not recommend US Canine highly enough!!!!!They have brought the joy of having a dog back to us and eliminated the horrible stress our dog was causing us. So to Angie, Josh, and all the hard working folks at US Canine, THANK YOU so much.

Angie and Josh (and the rest of the staff) have been so helpful with assisting me in how to take charge and treat my dog, Molly. Molly has a lot of anxiety towards other dogs and territorial issues. Angie and Josh both assure me that her behaviors arent bad, but I need to step up and show her that I am her master and get her to trust me. My dog is not a completely different dog overnight like some of the reviews say, it is a process and continues to be a process. Molly will always need my assistance to be a more well balanced dog. Angie and Josh are always prompt to respond when I send questions via email or call and always provide helpful tips to how I should approach all the situations.

We took our dogs to US Canine after our Australian Shepard mix started attacking our Georgia Brown dogThey lived together for a year and a half before any issues. We knew Cassie had some anxiety but did not realize it would or could turn into aggression. We had an evaluation with Angie, our dogs and her pack. We were hopeful when she told us she thought she could help. Cassie stayed with them for a week and then we reunited her and Maddie. Both stayed for another week at US Canine. Upon first reuniting it did not go well. We were thankful that Angie and her son Josh were handling our dogs at this point. The confidence they had in doing so kept us hopeful for reuniting them into our home one day.My husband and I had 2 visits to their facility for our training. And when they were ready to come home Josh brought them to our house and stayed with us almost 2 hours. He made sure we were comfortable and that all of our questions were answered. It was quite the transition for us in our new roll as pack leaders. It was an adjustment in our attitude and energy. It required work and training on our part to make this a success story. Angie and Josh gave us the tools and encouragement to become loving benevolent dictators! Our dogs have been doing great and actually play together again. I never thought this would be possible with their violent fights.Cassie is so much calmer and Maddie is more mindful of our instructions. Our friends, family and cat have also noticed the positive difference. It has been a real to pleasure to have such well disciplined dogs that can play together and enjoy their home and yard.Thank you Angie, Josh and the whole team at US Canine.

I cant say enough good things about Angie and her team at US Canine. Our adolescent female German Shepherd is there now for Angies Immersion program. She is there to get help with a few developing behavioral issues, most related to her moderately high drive and her budding independence plus her need to be socialized to other dogs by knowledgeable handlers. She has blossomed in their care, has become more confident and ready to be part of our pack at home, rather than the dominant, independent girl she was beginning to be. We get pack photos every day and are thrilled to see how her interaction with the pack has changed in positive ways. These folks know what they are doing, and the intensive training they provide for you on techniques and management are invaluable for your long-term relationship with your dog. Dont hesitate to check them out if you need help with your dog. They wont make you feel guilty about whatever your situation is, will do solid, foundational work with you and your dog, plus youll have a training consultant for life!

These people are a nightmare. US Canine uses shock and pinch collars to terrify your dog into submission and will do so without your permission. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO U.S. CANINE!!!! Greedy unprofessional rednecks posing as dog trainers for aggressive dogs and raking in the bucks. Do not subject yourself or your dog to these people. They will do everything in their power to shove their 2 week immersion program down your throat without even meeting your dog. If you have issues with your dog and want to work with professionals go to Frogs to Dogs in Decatur. Gave U.S. Canine one star because I couldnt post this warning without a star. I have an extensive background as a dog sitter and rescuer. Steer clear of U.S. Canine!!!

I had to kennel my dog due to my having surgery. I thought that rather than just putting him in a kennel I would enroll him in dog training. He is a 73 pound 10 month old Doberman Pinscher. I chose US Canines total immersion program. Boy am I glad I made that decision. Not only is my dog very well behaved now, but he had loads of fun playing while being trained. He no longer jumps on people, no longer jumps on my little dog who is almost 13 and weighs only about 12 pounds, no longer pulls on the leash wile we are out walking... I could go on and on. Also the people are just incredible. They love animals and are experts at what they do. Probably most important of all is they trained me in order that I better understand my communication with my dog in order to have him always mind his manners. I think I needed to be trained more than him. These are the reasons for the 5 star rating. They can resolve any behavior issue. You wont be disappointed with US Canine.Oh and by the way, their training continues even after the total immersion program. They are always there if you need them.

Angie/Josh and the entire team at U.S. Canine was fantastic with training our dog Murphy. He was labeled as damaged by a competitor to U.S. Canine and not only did they prove that he wasnt damaged, but he is now a great pet and behaves and lovingly fits in with us. U.S. Canine was very flexible with us as Murphy needed to take a break from training and are always there when we need them as the training is for life and not just when he was there. If we ever have issues, we can send the team videos, call or drop him off for a few days to board and they address any issues were having. Id highly recommend their services as they are very knowledgable and truly care and love on all of the dogs they work with. Were about to take Murphy up for more training on a treadmill so he can start getting out more energy on nasty days when we cant walk him.

We were at a crossroads with our one year old doberman about a year and a half ago. He had severe anxiety issues and was uncontrollable when he got too excited, which was often. We had had enough incidents that we were considering rehoming him even after working with another local dog trainer. We had heard good things about Angie, so we decided to give it a shot with her 2-week immersion program. What a difference! Angie and Josh did such a great job with him and teaching us the best techniques to reinforce pack leadership at home. Hes still the same high energy fun dog as he always was, but he now knows his place in our pack at home, which means we are the ones in control and he respects that and is so much happier for it.One of the other great perks of being a U.S. Canine client is their ultra affordable overnight boarding once your dog goes thru their program. Its easily half the price of your regular boarding places which dont do anything to reinforce training. So make sure and factor that in if you are considering whether it is worth the investment. My guess is youll find out that it is.And to anyone apprehensive about the use of shock collars, Josh and Angie only do it with the owners permission and do so in a safe and non harmful way. Theres definitely a right and wrong way to do it, and they taught us the best ways to use it - not as a tool to cause pain, but as a tool to redirect their attention. This can typically be done on the lowest settings. We rarely use ours anymore because its no longer needed, but when we did it was set to 3 or 4 out of 100 and only used if he didnt respond to initial verbal commands.
