I tried to enter from the Moakley Center, but closed for Covid testing, which was fine. I went through the front. I just needed an X-ray of a finger, 5 minutes tops. I was there for over two hours. I just had back surgery a few months back and made a mistake and ask for a wheelchair because there were none to be found at the front info desk. Staff was nice no complaints there. But I waited for almost 30 minutes and still no wheelchair, so I decided to forego the wheelchair and just walk. Get there and waited. I was still there when the office staff left for the day. I got to the hospital between 2 and 2:30. I was taking a nap when the technician finally called my name. Hope they hire more people so the wait time isnt so long next time. 🤔

My husband was brought to this hospital this morning at 11am with shortness of breath, dizziness, and chest pain. We were there waiting to be seen for 8 hours. We would have left and gone to another hospital had they not already drawn blood and done an EKG in the triage room. Once brought into the ER, he received a bag of fluids, while we waited in the hallway for an additional 3 hours. The nurses were not attentive to put it nicely. The doctor even less than the nurses. We received no diagnosis, just told to feel better. I watched a young man be wheeled in with an obvious head wound and in visible pain. He was triaged and put in a corner. He was still waiting by the time we left. I wouldnt send my dog here.

Receptionist were courteous and polite in filling out demographics info but this could have been done on paper and would have saved time interacting with them. Space was clean and distanced but limited as so many people were waiting. Some chose to wait outside the waiting area. Technician could do a better job explaining during the exam and had me waiting again after I undressed. Definitely could use improvement in efficiency.

I’m appalled. 10 hours is a completely unacceptable wait time. Doctor’s offices post delays allowing the arriving patients to prepare for the wait or reschedule. If it had been stated that the wait may exceed 6 hours, I might have gone home to get some sleep and re-assess in the morning. Not a single person was called in from the waiting room between 2:00 am and 4:00am. How is it that no one had time to look at a chest x-ray and either send us home or advise us to wait? The day of surgery I was late for my scheduled arrival time . Apparent these last minute scheduling changes are pretty normal.I arrived, was greeted and checked in. After a brief, less than 10 minute wait, I was taken in and prepped for surgery. I was made to feel very comfortable, especially by the Nursing staff. They explained the process I was about to go thru, what to expect. I then met the surgical team , my surgeon, anesthesiologist and EMT observer. Then I woke up in recovery. I cannot say enough positive things about all of the Sttaff. From the moment they brought me in, until my ride home arrived and I was wheeled out. Unfortunately the elderly are brushed aside and pushed out of the hospital even before they are ready to go home. Everything was such a struggle advocating for my 91yo Mom during her stay at Good Sam. Unfortunately our Mom passed away 4 days after coming home from hospital but thankfully our family was able to be by her side with the help of hospice. It is sickening that our health care system and rehab facilities don’t treat our elderly population with more grace and dignity. DO NOT send your elderly, loved ones here.

First off the waiting room is gross. People leave their trash and it’s never cleaned. Secondly, the staffs communication is awful. I understand they are busy, but to not update family members in anyway after hours of waiting is unprofessional. We were told my grandmother would only be in for an hour, and we tried calling to get any info and received nothing! Because it was during COVID we couldn’t stay so we went home and spent two days without an update! They even had the wrong phone number on her primary contact and never bothered to call any of the other numbers! It took forever to get them to properly update it! My advice? Go somewhere else.

I vomitted four times while I was here on was never checked on by a doctor once. The nurse told me it was vertigo but said I couldn’t leave. When I was fed up with waiting to see a doctor a PA finally came and said they were worried I might be having a small stroke not just vertigo. Then I received some medicine and they decided I needed an MRI.Again fairly quick getting down there. But I’ve been waiting THREE hours to see a doctor for my results. There is no person in charge of my care here and my symptoms have been the same all day.I would never recommend coming here for anything other than a lab.

Going to the emergency clinic at this hospital was the worst decision of my life. I went in with such a terrible stomach pain I could barely walk. After two hours the rude, oblivious nurses took me in. They took my temperature and asked my symptoms which the lady at the front desk had already done, completely useless. Another hour later, my blood work was taken, I wasn’t told the tests they were completing or anything. After over 6 hours of waiting I still hadn’t received my results from the blood work and was still waiting in the freezing cold, dirty lobby. After asking for my results and receiving new information I left this hospital and went to another close by hospital where they figured out the cause of my pain only 2 hours after being at the new one. Good Samaritan is not a good choice of emergency hospitals, terrible nurses, dirty facilities and dangerously long wait times.

Extremely slow, took a while to even do triage, I came in with shortness of breath and other issues, kept sending you back to the waiting room where there were NO medical staff immediately available to alert if your condition worsened, which mine did. After 7 hours I was called in to see the doctor from the waiting room in a triage room off of the waiting room (not in the back where there are beds). I was given no oxygen or any type of actual treatment while I was there. Over the course of 7 hours I received bloodwork (just regular workup despite asking for other testing due to my shortness of breathe and extreme fatigue and other conditions as well as suggestions by my PCP) and a chest x-ray and a brief triage examination.Upon meeting with the doctor, he suggested I do further blood tests (that I already asked for), one of which would require me to get my blood taken AGAIN. So after 7 hours, he decided I required more testing, that I would have to stay later for. I then decided to leave early, and do the blood tests ordered by my PCP at a local BWH site the following day.It was very hard to be in a hospital with those symptoms getting no treatment, the people around you are in the same situation. Even people who arrived in an ambulance were dumped in the waiting room and received no emergency treatment. Im sure there were other factors causing the slowness and lack of care but from a patients point of view it was awful. I will not be going to that hospital again. I will travel further to a Boston hospital because I know I will get seen faster and receive care faster. Even if I took an ambulance to this hospital I know I would not receive emergency care and am not confident that my child would receive it either.

I learned a lesson from this experience…..I need a med card to alert hospital staff that I take meds that need to be taken on schedule even if I am unconscious. Also as I was kept in an ER hall on a stretcher overnight, yet was admitted, I was no longer under the care of the ER nurses and was the responsibility of the hospitality. This contributed to a flaw in the communication chain that resulted in a delay in finally getting my meds.As a former EMT this is of concern. Had my lack of medication had more severe side effects, this could have contributed to a bigger problem. In conclusion the staff was professional, understanding and overwhelmed, which seems to be the norm at this time. I was transferred by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital ER on may 24 at 2:30pm after being hit by an 18 wheeler truck, it was a piled up accident. Four vehicles was involved. I was hurting all over my body. My right hip knee and ankle was so painful. I had a severe headache very dizzy. They sat me in a chair against a wall in the hallway at the ER. Admission came to get my insurance information at 2:30pm. My vital signs was obtained at 2:50pm. I sat in that chair for hours before I saw the MD almost 4:00pm he offered some Tylenol. 1/2hour later I got the Tylenol. 5:30pm I begged my nurse for some ice to put on my My knee because it was throbbing. Almost 6pm Finally I went for X-ray.However my experience was horrible. I am a nurse for 20 years. I know what it is like to be busy. The staff was great but the hospital needs to treat their patients better. I shouldn’t have to begged for Tylenol or ice. I hope I never get transfer to Good Samaritan ever again. I give it one star ⭐️ for good nurses.

Very hit or miss. Sometimes you get clear and timely communication, other times you get hung up on, no return call, and staff can be rude. I work in healthcare, so I understand that it can be stressful, but its stressful when you or your family member are sick.

I had a mammogram during the pandemic and every part of it was handled perfectly. The outer office was clean and had a minimum of people present...plenty of social distancing. The person with whom you checked in did it kindly, professionally, and safely. The person who performed the mammogram was excellent in every way. She was personable and professional. I was very pleased with the entire process.
