I’ve been thinking about my experience here for years since I went. But after talking with others in the mental health field I thought it was important that I speak up.I came to Tamara’s office in 2019 very young and going through, in short, a time. I was also seen by the psychiatrist she was partnered with at the time and learned that the medication she prescribed to me (for an illness she diagnosed me with in the span of ten mins) was not only for nerve pain, which i didnt have, but also could not treat any sort of mental illness.Taking that medication was one of the most traumatic things ive ever done in my entire life. My body and brain felt completely fuzzy, I would always sleep and I couldn’t think at all. It was as if I was just a vegetable with limited function. My last session with her was completely rushed, I felt as if she was annoyed about me being there/did not want to be there herself. I couldn’t go back after that. That experience completely made me lose trust in the mental healthcare system that i’m slowly working through. It was a very disheartening experience especially since there are not a lot of black femme therapist in mass that take my insurance.I just had to post this review because I don’t want this to happen to anyone else. Look somewhere else for help.

Absolutely awful. Every secretary that picks up the phone is miserable and unhelpful. They do not care about your wellbeing. I can’t even get an appointment because the paperwork that was sent via email was “never recieved” on their end. I have filled out the paperwork TWICE via email and no call back. Horrible business.

My son was recently diagnosed with autism which was made more evident by the pandemic. We were in a SERIOUS time crunch to find a therapist for him and this so called therapists office was the only place they had someone with time. She called us at 9:00PM!! To go over what we needed and she claimed she was invested in my sons care. She showed up ONCE after complaining she never showed up before to my sons current in home therapists zoom session as she wanted to see him and how he acts before having her own session with him. After this appointment, she never reached back out to us, so we had the current therapist who is due to leave us May 5 reach out to her and she finally revealed that she refuses to take on my sons case due to the size of our care team and the severity of his needs. This is ableism and disrespectful. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!

“Intake referral” team quickly responded when I was interested in therapy. Their responses were quick while I was sending my paperwork. That was since late June 2020. It is now late July 2020 and I have left the office several voicemails and several emails with absolutely no response in literally one entire month. I strongly am against any clients who actually care about their mental health participating in therapy here. The service is beyond terrible and the staff do not care whatsoever about you. Please find another office with staff who care about current and future clients. Steer clear of T Jocelyn by all means. I do NOT recommend this place.

I have been seeing Tamara for a few years. Her professionalism and knowledge help me to continue to have balance in my life. I would recommend her for individual and couples counseling.

I’m so disappointed to have to write a negative review. I wanted this to work so badly but it didn’t. Tamara is a good counselor but being good, isn’t good enough, Especially when you unreliable.First, I feel like she’s more concerned about money than actually helping. Multiple times she chased me down, telling me I didn’t pay for appointments. After I pulled out receipts, which I had to ask for since they don’t automatically give you one, she backed off. But this happened, multiple times. She made sure to find me for money but never to make sure I was doing ok.My first appointment that SHE booked me for, was a disaster. She never actually put me on the schedule and I waited an hour before I could see her. I just assumed this was a mistake and it wouldn’t happen again. Little did I know, this would be my experience. Every single time I went, she was late. After she was late, she would rush through our sessions. I never saw her for more than 20 minutes. After our second session, she tried to push me from weekly sessions to biweekly or monthly. After TWO sessions, she was already trying to cut me out. I pushed back, she agreed that I should still come weekly. One time I went for my appointment and she wasn’t even there. Again, maybe a mistake, even though I confirmed my appointment multiple times. The last time I went for my appointment, the office was completely closed. This was a very important appointment for me, which she knew. Despite her knowing how vulnerable I was, she never rescheduled or even called to check in on me. Thank God it was t life or death because she still doesn’t know if I’m alive or not. That last appointment was over a month ago.As a counselor, you are sometimes someone’s life line. If I depended on her to save my life, I wouldn’t be here. She is not reliable. She is unprofessional. I am so disappointed and will never ever step foot back in that building.
