I wish that I could give negative stars!!!!! This man took care of my elderly mother for about the last 20 years of her life in St Louis (until she moved in with me in 2006). For the last several years of her life, he saw her & ran her blood work at LEAST every 3 months. After she moved in with me, she saw MY family doctor. In the initial appointment at my doctors office he found 5-8 lbs of fluid in each leg as a side effect of the Norvasc that Dr. Razzaque had her on. He listened to her caroitid arteries & immediately set her up for an ultrasound which revealed that one was just over 70% blocked, the other almost 80% blocked. After he ran a urinalysis, he called me out into the hall & asked me if I knew that my mom was in RENAL FAILURE? I was floored, while my sister, her best friend or I had taken my mom to many many of her appointments, this had NEVER EVER BEEN MENTIONED!!!!!!!!! He got her blood work back & it showed that her thyroid was not functioning & that she should have been in a thyroid comma (I never even knew there was such a thing). Because of the renal failure, she was sent to a specialist who found that she only had one functioning kidney & it was only functioning at about 33% AND SHE ALSO HAD A RENAL ANURYSIM! I was in a major state of shock. This doctor had seen my mom every three months for YEARS & YEARS yet hadnt caught any of this! By this time Moms health had deteriorated & was not a good candidate for even the testing for surgery to try to repair the aneurysm, let alone a transplant! The pulmonologist said that the dye could shut down the only functioning kidney giving her the option of dialysis or death and the surgery if it was even possible could kill her also. So the main objective was to try to keep her stress free as much as possible that I made the decision not to tell her, since there was nothing she could do about it other than worry. Had this so called doctor, found the kidney condition years ago like he should have (since my doctor found it with a simple urinalysis in the office), things might have been different. If you or a loved one, especially an elderly one, have questions about something this doctor has told you, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get a second opinion!!!!!!! This man took years with my mom away from my son and I. How could he have missed so many things that my doctor found in one visit, one urinalysis, one round of blood work plus one visit to unhurt pulmonologist at the heart center?????? Her life and quality of life was ruined by this so called doctor.
