This whole experience has been better than I could imagine! Didn’t have much knowledge in the whole area of hair transplant and how things work or what steps to take to minimize damage and now I am up to queue! I was nervous about the procedure and the after care I had to do but since the moment I stepped in the office I’ve felt like I’ve been a first priority patient. The surgery was long but EASY with them, after care was really resting and lots of questions about anything that could come to mind, and every question was answered very quickly. Prior to my procedure:Let me tell you my story. Its a good one.I had tried Minoxidil for a few years, the irestore pro laser hair helmet for a year, DHT blocking shampoos, biotin, and finasteride. Nothing brought back my hairline or density that I hoped and my self-esteem was dropping rapidly (evident by my constant discussion of hair, 1000 daily looks in the mirror and internal tears of desperation). I saw upwards of 15K, and I paid half that for 2000 grafts.Day of the procedure:Arrived at 8am. My first impression was how clean and modern the facility was. My parents drove me because you cant drive after the procedure, and my mom was so nervous (because her baby boy was having his head worked on)! She got to meet Daryl, the Master Tech who performed my procedure. If moms happy, were all happy. I made my way to the room, put on my gown, took some before photos, and we were off! Daryl drew my hairline two different ways and let me pick which one I liked better. Then she drew the whole area that would be worked on. 2000 grafts covered a sizable area. I took my valium, laid in the chair, and it began. I shouldve figured the local anesthesia would require numbing shots, but didnt, so I was caught off guard and nervous because I dont like needles. There are several shots in the left, mid, and right back of your head. It didnt feel good obviously, but if I can do it, trust me- you can too. Youre facing down and never see the needle, which helped me! Plusyou can bring headphones and listen to music if that calms you. You feel nothing once youre numbed! After they removed all the grafts they bought me Jimmy Johns and I got a lunch break. During the 2nd half when theyre placing the grafts, youre sitting upright and can have your laptop, listen to music, or watch their TV. Instead, I spent hours talking to Daryl and her technician Jairo (who was also great). Even while working Daryl calmed me and answered all the questions I was asking. But we talked about so much more. It was a social experience :)Once it was over- they wrapped my head up, and sent me on my merry way around 5pm! If you dont have a driver, then you Uber to a hotel or wherever youre staying for the night!Post Operation:Im on my 9th day after my procedure. I LOVE my hairline and can definitely picture how much fuller my head is going to look. FOLLOW ALL THE RULES OF PRE-OP AND POST OP- there are quite a few things you have to do. I was extra careful and did everything to a tee. My follicle implant process and experience was nothing less than awesome. Jay and Jessica walked me through my whole process. They understood when I started getting uncomfortable at times. My overall experience at Nashville hair doctor was great. Now let’s get to the point. I’m currently at 9 months post op and the results of my HT is fantastic. And it’s only going to improve at this point. Before the procedure I was roughly a Norwood 2/3 with thinning in the crown. I had 2500 graft done to recreate the hairline, adding density to the mid scalp and crown. The growth phase for me kicked in around month 3 and peak through month 7. Now my transplanted hair is in its maturity phase and it really is the best part of the overall aesthetic/results as the hair is starting to be fuller and thicker. You have to be VERY patient when it comes to results everyone is different. That’s why I waited a bit pass 6 months to see if the results had improve and it did and it’s only going to keep improving. Jay was my technician and he did an amazing job. My hairline is filled with many single hairs cause natural hairline are made of single hairs only. My donor area was harvested in the safe zone, and was spread out nicely to avoid over harvesting. All of these details only shows you that Jay KNOWS what he is doing and he is great at it. Do your research before consider a hair transplant. Im also on finasteride to prevent/slow down future hair loss as MPB is a life long progression so invest in your hair and do much as you can. Take lots of photos and videos as I have to compare your before and after. Have real expectations and lay out your goal for having a HT. I’m happy with the results so far, and it’s only going to get better from here ladies and gentlemen. I recommend Nashville hair doctor and Jay.
