I switched from traditional CF to Iron Tribe CS only because it was a better schedule for me, but its turned out to be a great fit! The workouts are very challenging and the coaches are engaged. Im new and still building my relationships/community, but definitely feel the were all in this together vibe. Ive also found the 45 min class time to be very efficient.

Location. Class structure. The workout is very challenging but because we dont work to complete exhaustion I can manage more training. Hard workouts dont have to mean you cant do other things during your day. Already seeing more muscle definition. The best thing is the coaching. Being part of a fun group without judgements. Working within your own personal capacity. Our coaches at ITF COOL SPRINGS are full of energy, kindness, and best expectations for each athlete.

Love the coaches and love the camaraderie between classmates. The workouts are scheduled, quick and on-time and the app makes it easy. They are also modified based on skill level and there is always something to work for, whether it be an event or new skill, which helps stay engaged and motivated.

Do you feel like physically your best days are behind you? I did. In my mid 40s, I just assumed I was limited and just had to accept being at least somewhat out of shape. Sometimes we dont know what we dont know. That was me, I thought I knew a lot about health and fitness, but I have been pleasantly surprised at how much I didnt know about getting the most out of ourselves physically. I have made big gains and seen significant improvement in my fitness, to a level I didnt think I could see even in my 20s or 30s.It sounds very cliche to say, but Irontribe has significantly improved by health and wellbeing. It is the perfect fit for me. ITF has given me the motivation and accountability to be consistent and push for short and long term goals. Additionally, the access to knowledge related to nutrition and functional fitness from the coaches is huge.I feel like I have 4 coaches (each with their own area of expertise/perspective), a strong support community of fellow members who have become great friends, and convenient access to 5 different gyms in the Nashville area, all for half the cost of 1 personal trainer.The ITF culture and community is awesome!

After more thank two years of working out at Iron Tribe Fitness, Im so grateful for this place. I started out when I was in probably the worst shape of my adult life. The 101 introductory class helped me learn the movements and build community to where I began to enjoy the workouts.Two years later Im stronger than I have ever been and love working out more than I thought possible as an adult. The coaches are not only friends, but people who look out for me and assist me with my nutrition goals and workout goals.I wish I could write a whole story about my experience, but overall, I cant recommend this place enough.

I joined the 6 weeks challenge because I wanted to be challenged to be a better version of myself. Im somewhat active but not coordinated in general and have not spent a lot of time in a gym so picking up on what we were doing was difficult for me sometimes. The coaches were always encouraging, patient and supportive and I appreciated that a lot! They also helped with learning how to eat better with a food template/guide and discussion surrounding it whenever I had questions (which was a lot lol). At the midpoint of the challenge I had lost 2.9% body fat. The goal was 6% by the end of the 6 weeks. I shocked myself when I actually beat the goal by losing 6.6%! I was completely shocked and excited!! Thank you Iron Tribe for your support and guidance 😊

I just finished the 6 week challenge and It was great! These coaches give so much attention during class to make sure you’re safe and working your hardest so you see results. I loved sharing the space with other strong women and enjoyed the always encouraging atmosphere. These workouts can be tailored to your needs so everyone can partake! Highly recommend!!

I’ve been participating in a fitness challenge at Iron Tribe Fitness. Y’all, it has been so great for me. I think I’d gotten to the point where I wasn’t sure I could get fit. I am feeling so strong now, extremely motivated and I have lost weight, which is very hard for me to do. I look forward to every workout and can’t wait to be challenged. Each workout is succinct- they really know how to get you worked out quickly, but still wear you out! My personal favorites are anything involving sprinting and pull-ups (throwback to my gymnastics days), but they change it up so much, I’ll never get comfortable. The workouts appeal to everyone- I’ve met some people who are a bit intimidated by hard workouts, but they can modify and feel encouraged. And then there’s those, like me, who love a hard workout and don’t feel the need to hold back and actually still have a lot of growing room to get stronger and faster. I love the community atmosphere: they do periodic events like nutrition workshops, parties and fun tournaments to encourage community building. Everyone seems to care about everyone and the coaches are energetic and enthusiastic and always having a good day- even though you know they can’t always have a good day. Iron Tribe is fantastic and I highly recommend it. If you are ready to get off the couch or if you are already fit, Iron Tribe is the perfect challenge. I desperately needed a kick-start after several years of no exercise, so I signed up for the 6 Week Challenge. I finished it today. I dont know my final results yet, but I do know I have lost a significant amount of weight, I feel better (both physically and mentally) and I look forward to the next workout. If youre looking for motivated, disciplined coaching in an upbeat atmosphere, you have found your place! I have joined other gyms in the past but was always lost as to what machines or weights I should use and how many reps I should do to maximize my fitness. Iron Tribe is like having your own personal coach devise a plan that works for YOU. The coaches are informative, knowledgeable and encouraging. If you want to go somewhere where everythings figured out for you, come here. They figure out your meal plan, walk you through the workouts—making sure youre doing them right so you dont hurt yourself—and help you scale down any of the movements to fit your needs. The classes are fun and will push you no matter where you are on your fitness journey, and the coaches are personal and willing to help you along. I just completed a 6 week challenge here, and I lost 6.6% body fat and gained 3.7lbs of muscle. I would highly recommend it this gym to anyone.

About 6 weeks ago, Renee Box sent me a message regarding an Iron Tribe 6-week challenge. You will be taught how to train and eat for maximum results and at no charge. And you can bring along some co-workers. How could I say no that? This challenge has been a pivot decision in my life. I am making better choices all around – fitness, sleep, nutrition and well-being. With my busy working mom schedule its sometime difficult to find the time to fit a class in, but making my well-being a priority makes it worthwhile. The team at the gym is phenomenal!!! I have now been at Iron Tribe for a little over four weeks, and I cannot say enough good things about this place. I love that as soon as I walk in, I hear from a coach or another participant, “Hey Rachel, what’s up?” The coaches here have a variety of ways they help individuals grow and it is great to hear from all of them as I continue to learn the movements well. Zach is such a great encourager, Renee is so great at the detail of movements that it makes it easier to understand. Seth does a fabulous job educating on health and wellness. They truly make a great team.

Iron Tribe Fitness Cool Springs is a special place. The trainers genuinely care about your progress and fitness journey. They were so gracious and willing to work with me when a surgery/recovery took longer than expected - they made it easy for me to jump back into the Challenge when I was able. During my recovery, they took the time to check in on me and follow up.The coaches are top notch - and take the time to train, encourage and inspire you to be better and challenge yourself. I love the small group atmosphere and the fact they say hello, know your name, how to challenge and insure you will succeed. Why Iron Tribe? Why NOT is the real question...Warm up, workout and cool down is 45 minutes! Most efficient use of time ever. I havent experienced results like this since college basketball. Ive always worn a size 10/12 pants and just bought a size 8!! Iron Tribe makes it EASY to be consistent with with working out and changing your diet, which changes your life. They plan the workout for you!! You just gotta show up. The coaches are fun, challenging and very knowledgeable. The music is loud and the workout always makes you feel like youre part of a team. Plus the Iron Tribe app is pretty cool too - you sign up for class, check your scores, etc.Last year I had a gym membership below my apartment - literally 10 seconds away - and I went twice in 6 months. Now I drive over 30 minutes to Iron Tribe three times a week. That is how much I am addicted to it! If youre happy with where you are physically, dont change anything. But if youre one of those who keeps thinking, Ive got to start doing something, I just dont know how or what, maybe you should Try the Tribe!

Iron Tribe has been a fantastic place to workout with good people. I passed my 1 year anniversary here and can feel and see results. I used to throw out my back picking up kids (I’m only 34, yikes!) and haven’t experienced that since working out here. Coaches are awesome. People push you to go harder than you could on your own. I had been looking for a gym that would help me build strength without me having to work out my own programing. What I ended up finding in Iron Tribe was just that and so much more. The workouts are well planned out, the atmosphere of doing the same workout with others is awesome, and the coaches are very knowledgeable and, even more important, helpful and available! I have found that Iron Tribe has been a fantastic conditioning compliment to my triathlon training which is my overarching fitness goal. Iron Tribe has been a huge component in my physical change over the last 2 years from 205 lbs. to 160 lbs. as well as being stronger at 32 than Ive ever been before.

Ive gotten to meet some great people and the coaches have ended up being a big part of my life. 6 weeks ago I started a challenge put on by this gym. I went to the classes, followed the meal plan, and attempted to like protein shakes 😂 This gym is awesome. Plain and simple. I had just had a baby, in the worst shape of my life. My body could barely keep up with what the coaches were asking me to do. But I kept at it and even through slight injuries I kept pushing. After three weeks I had gained 3lbs of muscle, lost 3.6% body fat, and a total of 7lbs! Their program works and the coaches are great! I would highly recommend this gym!

Iron tribe has been an awesome experience for me since starting back in June of 2015. The coaching staff, atmosphere, and camaraderie is something that cannot be replicated with other fitness franchises. Overall, I have gained strength, lost weight, and learned about healthy eating alternatives. Most importantly, I have stayed healthy through the process. The coaches understand each members needs and address those specifically making sure each individual is reaching their true potential. The team at Cool Spring Iron Tribe are amazing! I started working out at Iron Tribe 5 weeks ago during a 101 Class where you learn the right way to perform a movement, i.e. the right way to do a squat and the wrong way which can hurt your knees, thank you Seth. I appreciate all of the time and dedication this team has put in to our classes. You can tell they are all passionate about what they do and care about your overall health. Even when I couldn’t do a movement and needed a scaled back version they still encouraged me to try the movement first, just because you couldn’t do it a couple of weeks ago doesn’t mean you can’t do it now. I can tell you this has been true for me, I wasn’t able to do a double under and with some encouragement and coaching from Zach and Shane I was able to accomplish a double under and continue to work towards several. Renee Box, the manager, is amazing she is such a bright spot and helped me with my food intake and pinpoint areas to work on. Iron Tribe Cool Springs rocks!

I was very skeptical at first.. but my wife convinced me that I would love it, she is right. I love iron tribe it’s clean, safe and most importantly fun. I also was an athlete and love the competitive side of sports. I worked out at all sorts of gyms and felt like I wasn’t getting the outcome that I wanted. Since the competition I’ve been pushed harder each time. With great coaches and friendly teammates I’ve fallen in love with this place. Since the 6 week challenge began, I’ve lost almost 12 pounds in just the first half. I look forward to going every single day, can’t wait to see how much stronger my body will continue to grow. Hi, Im writing an on-line review for the first time in my life. Why, because seldom have I been consistently confident enough about a product/experience/service to recommend it to others. Without any hesitation I strongly recommend you explore Iron Tribe Fitness of Cool Springs if you are interested in improving your health and fitness.Im 64 years of age and never would I have guessed that I would love rigorous, demanding and challenging work outs at my age. Growing up, I had gym memberships, ran some 5 and 10 k races, trained at the YMCA with friends and guess what? Im in better health and feel more fit now, than at any stage of my life. Dont get me wrong, dont have the strength I did when I was in my 30s, not as flexible as I was in my twenties, but thats because of age. What is better is my blood work, my stamina, my cardio fitness, and my personal knowledge of what my nutritional needs are. Since joining Iron Tribe Ive lost 5.5 off my waist, 5 off my hips, my cholesterol was 256, now its 194, glucose is within normal limits and my the rest of my blood work is significantly better. My strength and conditioning is much, much better than 6 months ago. None of that happens without the coaches and my tribe mates. I evaluate teachers for a living (school principal) and the coaches at Iron Tribe of Cool Springs are some of the best educators,coaches, trainers, and people Ive ever been associated with. These last several weeks at Iron Tribe have been exactly what I needed. I have been doing home workouts for a long time, and I knew I needed a jump-start to my fitness. So fun and addictive yet brutal and painful all rolled up into a special little close knit team-like package. Guess that’s why they call it IRON TRIBE. I’ve never “enjoyed” nor looked forward to working out in all my 40+ years like this. Growing up, I played team sports and regularly worked on improving my fitness. We always did the same lifts and I was never really coached on proper form. I quickly hit a ceiling in high school with the weight I could lift. I have been a part of a few crossfit boxes in my mid twenties and although I enjoyed the results, I still did not feel as if I was coming close to reaching full potential.After being at Iron Tribe for a year, I am in the absolute best shape of my life. At any point where I have reached my ceiling in any movement, the coaching helps take me to the next level. The culture of Iron Tribe is unified and celebratory. So, when my best friend, Dawn, asked me if I wanted to be on her team for a 6-week challenge at Iron Tribe, I thought “Heck, yeah! Working out with my girlfriends...they could use a few laughs, and I could use a change of pace!” The reality is, I was in a downhill spiral. Approaching 50 in the next few years, I had resigned myself to thinking that my body was no longer capable of certain things, and that I didn’t have the desire to “work that hard” anymore. I had allowed myself to believe the lies that my body could not change, there was little I could to do make changes in my diet (I’m a super healthy eater), and I had to accept that “it is what it is”. Well...I. Was. Wrong! One of the things that I learned is that, my body is capable of doing things at this age that I couldn’t have imagined! Iron Tribe has taught me that fear can be overcome, that there is ALWAYS more to learn, and that what you believe to be impossible, with enough work, can become possible. Their never-ending creativity in workouts is astonishing, and their education on nutrition is inspiring. The team at Iron Tribe make sense out of what looks like madness, and empower people to find strength in themselves and the energy in those around them. Great job, guys!!! 👊 Tribe on 1! 3-2-1!!!

Iron Tribe has help me to build muscle and lose body fat. The staff is great because they are always motivating you. I joined the Tribe last fall 2017 after my mom forwarded me a link to the four week challenge. As a former collegiate athlete who swam for 12+ years I have been underwhelmed with “regular” gyms and have constantly been searching for that extra something. At IronTribe there is a place for everyone, beginners, experts, those of us who fall somewhere in between. The coaches are fantastic, they each make you feel like you have their full attention during every workout. I have had two back surgeries so far and each coach makes a point of correcting my movements and making any small adjustments I need in order to protect my back. I have seen spectacular results physically, I lost almost 5% of my body fat in those first 4 weeks alone, but more importantly I have discovered a new and improved lifestyle, with a group of people, that I love.

I’m already a member of another gym here in Franklin and while I don’t necessarily have anything negative to say in regards to the other gym, it genuinely pales in comparison to Iron Tribe!! I am almost 40, and before last year I had never exercised. No yoga, swimming or running...nothing. And I had great excuses for not exercising. I have had severe back pain for most of my adult life and woke up in pain every morning for 8 years. But all of that changed last year. I decided to try an intro class at Iron Tribe. The first 30 days were hard if not impossible. I took Aleve daily. I cried weekly. But I didn’t quit. After 6 months, I realized that I was getting up in the mornings pain free. And now, a year later, I am in the best shape of my life and loving it. My chronic back pain is gone, I have more energy, and I am getting stronger everyday. Thank you to the great coaches who helped me strengthen my core so that I could break free from chronic pain. I wish I had tried this when I was 30.

For almost 6 weeks now, Ive been taken to the edge of what I thought I could do in the gym. Whats even better is Ive gone much further. The biggest reason Ive had the confidence to push myself in these workouts are the instructors. Theyre watching & correcting my form to make sure I get the most out of each exercise and not injure myself. Dont get me wrong...these workouts are tough. However, every workout is doable if you give it your all. You dont have to have graduated from X-Men school to do these workouts. They have modifications for everyone at every fitness level. I am in love with Iron Tribe Fitness Cool Springs. It has completely changed my life. I havwe lost 35+ lbs since starting my workouts. The coaches are phenomenal. The small class sizes make the coach to athlete ratio strong enough to where they are able to give hands on training for the entire class. The coaches truly care about each athlete and want to see you accomplish your goals as safely as possible. Working out in high school and college, I dont think I have ever had a trainer who would suggest that I lift lower weight until I get the form correct, but it happens all the time at Iron Tribe. The comradery that you build with your class and the coaches makes coming to class enjoyable and fun. I have not been this excited about working out since I played team sports when I was younger.

The staff is friendly (but tough) and extremely knowledgable in both fitness and nutrition plus youll get the same one on one attention youd get from a personal trainer. “Do you exercise a lot?...” (Not a bad question to get during a checkup) “…because your heart rate is really good.” Ill take it.For years, Ive gone in fits and starts with exercise, always avoiding anything organized. My wife, who I should note is always right, started at a new gym called Iron Tribe and kept saying that it was perfect for me. Nah. Ill stick to my irregular runs, random trips to the gym, and occasional power bars. Yeah, thatll do the trick. Riiiight.My confidence in my ability to be my own personal coach eroded, though, as Kristen’s transformation was more visible and more impressive. What are they doing at that place anyway? I had to find out, and the opportunity to try it for 6 weeks – with a competitive element to it – was too good an offer to pass up.What I found is nothing like I expected. It was intense, fun, educational, competitive and focused on the long-term. Sure, you push hard to see results but in a way that is sustainable – not a quick fix.I’m just about at the end of the 6 weeks and I have to admit that Im hooked on the concept, but more importantly, Im healthy. (Remember that whole heart rate thing?)Im not going to say that Ive become a physical specimen in 6 weeks - not by a long shot - but I will say that I feel better in every way. Im more fit, more energetic, and focused on building a healthy lifestyle - from how I exercise to how I eat.At risk of turning this into an infomercial, Ill end by saying that Im grateful that Kristen introduced me to Iron Tribe - and the coaches and athletes who go there. Motivating, Inspirational and Caring Team of trainers who make a tough workout count and pay off! In a compact time frame, this groups runs you through a varied workout that combines aerobic and strength training, all under their watchful eyes. Their trainers monitor your moves closely, making sure your form is optimal for safety and for maximizing the benefit. Fun music is blasting but even more importantly, you get inspiration from the people you are training with--everyone is encouraging each other, high fiving as we run, etc.Its the toughest workout you will ever love...especially when you see the results. I started with absolutely no upper body / arm strength, and now I have muscle definition and cant go anywhere without someone commenting on how I look...not bad for an old lady! Speaking of which...you dont have to be muscle bound to do this...there are people at all stages of fitness and we are each doing our best to improve where we are. So, while I deadlift my 130 lbs, there is a beefy guy behind me doing double that...but we are each doing the same workout.If you need a quick workout with great results in a fun, encouraging atmosphere, this is the place. Hitting the gym has never been my thing. (hitting a patio with friends or hitting the couch, maybe. But thats how we got in this mess to begin with, right?!) The timing was right when my friend mentioned the ITF Challenge and told me about her amazing experience in just 4 short weeks of going herself. I was intrigued enough to sign up. On that first day, to say I was terrified and intimidated would be an understatement. But it only took a few minutes in the door for those feelings to be erased and replaced with confidence and excitement. The coaches are great about working with every fitness level and goal. In addition to being not-in-my-best-shape, I also have a foot full of metal that prevents me from doing some things. No worries though - everything has a scalable. These guys are all super knowledgeable and encouraging - no judgements or funny looks - just atta girl and fist bumps. They have definitely put me to the test and I have been challenged for sure - but each class ends with a well earned sense of accomplishment and a lot of sweat! I highly recommend trying out Iron Tribe Fitness even if for only a month - if you dont like it, you can always just head back to the couch (but I doubt that will happen!)

I have been asked to write a review of my experience at #ITFCoolSprings so here it is- I participated in what is referred to as a challenge thanks to a friend posting about the challenge on Facebook. I enjoy trying new workouts and since this was new to me and completely free I figured, what would I have to loose. It was intimidating not knowing what I was walking into and I will admit I called my husband from the parking lot the first day hesitant to even walk in the door. But I put my big girl pants on and pushed through. The 101 classes were fun and the trainers did a good job of showing options and encouraging us. Overall the first 3 weeks were good and I met some great girls going through the challenge as well. As with all gyms/trainers it really is about the connections you make.

I have had the best experience at Iron Tribe Coolsprings. The trainers are always in a great and positive moods. They help you every step of the way with the movements and your breathing. I started The Iron Tribe Fitness Challenge about five weeks ago. Before I started working out there I hadn’t worked out in about 10 years. The first few weeks were very rough for me. I kept going hard and pushed through the pain and soreness every day. I have really surprised myself. They make you do things you DO NOT want to do and I love it. I surprise myself every time I go to a workout. I keep getting stronger and faster every time. I am so happy and proud of myself. Thank you so much Iron Tribe Team. You tha bomb! 😆💪🏼

Great group of trainers, and they are very supportive during class, but my personal coach never followed through on the program for which I signed up. Also, it is ridiculously expensive, especially if you dont get the meal plans and encouragement outside of class that is promised.

I started working out at Iron Tribe Cool Springs about 5 weeks ago and it has been an awesome experience! Especially since I just moved here, I was having a hard time finding a a workout that I enjoyed that also felt like a community. ITF has a 3 week 101 class that starts at the basics of typical movements for the Push and Power classes. That class was so helpful for me to feel more comfortable for future workouts. I love this community and all it has to offer. AND the coaches are the best! They really care and make an effort to know you. I highly recommend the gym for any fitness level. #itfcoolsprings

So back several weeks ago my friend asked me to join her team for the team challenge at Irontribe Fitness!! So of course I said sure! We have completed our challenge and I have to say the coaches at Irontribe Cool Springs have been awesome! I learned a ton in the 101 classes and have enjoyed the workouts. The sense of community that they create is incredible. They have been encouraging every step of the way and celebrating the little things as we get stronger. I did my final InBody assessment today and I have gained some lean muscle! Thanks guys!

Great group of coaches and people with a true tribe mentality. There are several class times a day to choose from and I like that I can schedule/cancel through their app. Also, a big plus is that classes are capped at 20 people. I hate an overcrowded exercise class. Class WODs can be modified to any level--beginner thru experienced. Overall, a warm and inviting place to get your butt kicked. #itfcoolsprings

I’ve had more than a few people ask me why a Pilates instructor would want to do Iron Tribe. The simple answer is one form of exercise cannot “do” everything. Pilates gave me flexibility and core strength to name just a few benefits but I was not as functionally fit as I wanted to be. I couldn’t lift much weight over my head nor could I squat down and pick up much weight at all. I wanted to be stronger so that I wouldn’t have to wait for my husband or son to be home to help me move or lift something. After 1.5 years of Iron Tribe, I am so much stronger than I ever thought possible. It is such a freeing feeling to know that I have the physical strength to handle almost anything I want. At 47, thanks to Pilates and Iron Tribe I am in the best physical condition of my life. I never thought I would ever say something like that and that is why I Tribe. #itfcoolsprings

It’s been an interesting ride at Irontribe. I joined Irontribe a little over three years ago in Chattanooga. I transferred up to Nashville, due to a career change, 6 months after I started at ITF Chattanooga. But during those three years, I’ve taken a couple of sabbaticals for various reasons. One reason is that I was looking for the next level. The funny thing is, Irontribe has always been the next level. The coaching, facilities and management are top notch, no matter what ITF gym your at! #itfcoolspringsSo I came to Iron Tribe Fitness 5 weeks ago on a challenge from a friend. I was lamenting how I had this beer belly and I want to look better in my clothes and just feel better. I had a million reasons why I wasn’t going. Most of them (like 999,999) were bogus and I was just comfortable to complain how I was chubby and the girls don’t like me. I’m only 36 but I was definitely working on my crochety - seriously I think I’m onto old man level 3, my next step was to start yelling at kids to get off my lawn.Well thank goodness she pushed me to go when there was this 6 weeks challenge. And I’m so glad I did. I don’t think I have ever sweated this much on a regular basis. But seriously it felt good. At the end at each class I really felt that I had accomplished something.It’s really helped me. On a personal note - since my divorce a few years back I sometimes have struggled with just being sad or not having good self esteem and I tell you, going to this fitness program has really helped with this tremendously. I’m not saying I’m super buff now or anything like that. But I just feel better about myself and life in general after going. It’s definitely got me a bit out of the rut. If you are like me - maybe struggling with something - while this won’t cure all your ills it will definitely push you in a very positive direction. I kept hearing that from people and was like , whatever, right... but it’s true. The physical activity really does help.And for anyone that is hesitant - let me say the coaches are fantastic and friendly and really know the balance of pushing you to achieve your best but also knowing how to scale or give options on the exercises to match your fitness level. And I will say I never felt like I was embarrassed being there and knowing I was waaaaay out of shape. Everyone there in the tribe is at their own level - and you have everyone like myself that is a beginner and having an office job where I sit on my butt and probably the last time I ran before this was for the buffet line up to folks that have been there for a while and can accomplish more and run a mile and lift heavy weights. But those people give you high fives and fist bumps at the end just like everyone else on the team. It’s encouraging because I know some of them started just like me - you can only begin where you are.And let me say this - in 5 weeks I went from seeing purple stars on the first day trying to WALK 200m at the end of the workout to being able to jog 1200m - and it’s hard but I am definitely not going to pass out.So ... I’m not sure if I’ll win the 6 weeks challenge, but I’m really glad I signed up and walked through the door of the Iron Tribe.In the words of Lao Tzu:“The longest journey begins with a single step”Thanks Iron Tribe. I really enjoy being a part of the Iron Tribe Cool Springs Community. I am about to turn 41, and I have worked out consistently (3-4 times a week) for the past 10 years. Whether training for a half marathon or lifting at the YMCA, consistent exercise has been an important part of maintaining my overall physical and emotional well-being. Physical aesthetics are pretty low on my priorities for working out, which is pretty obvious if you take a look at this old man :). Simply put, if I dont exercise, I feel like crap and have super low energy. I need to work out to keep up with my three elementary age kiddos.So a good buddy of mine, Steve Lange, talked me into giving Iron Tribe a go back in Feb. 2016. Admittedly, I was a bit intimidated. Im a regular guy with a notoriously low metabolism, and I was at the heaviest I have ever been... 245. Iron Tribe is for super hard core, trendy, athletic types, right? Still, I decided to give the 101 class a shot as my current workout regime of treadmill and traditional weight lifting had gotten stale and relatively ineffective.I am not one to try the latest dietary fad, but I listened to the coaches and gave Paleo a shot. This combined with three workouts a week at ITF Cool Springs led to me losing 22 lbs. and 7% body fat in the first month. Plus, I gained a pound of skeletal muscle mass. Not to mention, I had a super fun time doing this in a team format. I had never done any sort of fitness class before and was surprised to discover how much I enjoyed working out with people of all different ages and fitness levels... really cool!Heres the deal, Iron Tribe probably isnt for everyone. But, I do think it would be great for a whole lot of people. We dont have a meat-head, macho, bigger, stronger, faster culture. Its primarily encouraging and fun. It can be competitive if you want it to be. You can get super strong and ripped if you want to. However, the coaches have continually emphasized that the primary purpose of ITF is to cultivate balanced, healthy athletes who have a wide variety of goals. Every movement is scalable. Its super fun to try and get better at pull-ups, but if you cant do them right away or ever, then there is scaled movement. I am never made to feel like a punk if I cant pull off a movement. Im just encouraged to work harder and get better, with health and physical mobility as my primary goal. Still, I feel the motivation to push myself to work harder and become the best version of myself all while having tons of fun. You may not like ITF like I do, but I dare you to give it a shot.
