About 5 years ago I was fortunate to begin as a patient with Dr. Don Henderson in Functional Medicine. These 5 years have been very rewarding. I started out with my diabetes in bad shape (32 units insulin and 4 Metformin tabs per day). I have gradually lost 50 lbs and decreased my meds to presently only one tab per day and will be off it in the coming months.Dr. Henderson approached my multiple problems with the attitude of getting to the cause of the problems rather than just alleviating the outward symptoms. The process is not quickly accomplished as many factors are involved and vary as much as individuals do. The results are gratifying and pleasing to me, to the Diabetes Clinic, the heart Dr. and of course, rightly, to Dr. Henderson. He has patience, up to date knowledge, and may someday get me to exercise like he wants me to. (I hope he is not holding his breath, but who knows!)Lucy W.Brentwood, TN
