I have been going to Modern Acupuncture for my back issues. Ive had a lumbar fusion at L4/L5 and am trying to hold off another. Jenny is absolutely wonderful! Shes more than an acupuncturist to me. Shes a friend and at times since the lost of my mom recently a therapist. ☺️She has helped me also with blood pressure issues. Im so very thankful for Terry who gets me in and is always so sweet. I love all that both do for me. My well being and health is so important to Terry and Jenny and I am ever so thankful!!

My experience has been life changing. My pain derived from a pinched nerve at the base of the neck. The pain gradually progressed to the shoulder, then the arm and eventually to my hand and finger tips. I had multiple visits with a massage therapist and a chiropractor. I was in severe pain. The nerve was so inflamed I had to seek medical treatment. Even after seeing a doctor I was still in incredible pain. Unable to sleep or perform simple daily activities was extremely frustrating. Ive now reached a point of desperation and began looking for alternative therapy which lead me to Modern Acupuncture. I called and spoke to Terry who could feel my pain and was able to squeeze me in for a visit that morning. Upon arrival my pain level was at a 10. My acupunturest Erika, was so kind and empathetic. She knew exactly what I needed and for the first time in over 6 weeks I felt little to no pain. Finally RELIEF! Im so grateful to Terry and Erika for their kindness and genuine concern for my well being. Im following the treatment plan and my progress continues with each visit. Modern Acupuncture has made such a significant impact on my health and my life that I recommend it to everyone I know.

The Brea team is great, very friendly. Erika is very personable and answers all my questions. She shows she really cares and is invested in her clients concerns. I have had four visits with Erika and have seen improvement with my migraines and insomnia

This place is amazing! I don’t have the perfect words to express how happy I am. When I came to this place I was desperate.... I was not able to sleep for almost a month, I had one week that I was not able to sleep for 3 days. I tried all the natural stuff and it was not working for me. Acupuncture was my last hope before going to the doctor and getting meds. This was the best decision I made... the staff is very friendly, understanding and they gave me hope!!! ... today after 3 weeks of going, I am sleeping like a baby. I am so thankful that I found this place. Thank you Modern Acupuncture. I am now a believer of acupuncture!!!

I love this place. I suffer from severe anxiety and I have PTSD, every time I come out to California I get acupuncture here and it helps calm me so much especially with traveling. I highly recommend coming here and the staff is amazing!

I started treatments a while back with Modern Acupuncture before COVID-19 hit. They closed for a while but recently opened back up. I couldn’t wait to go back to my acupuncture treatments. Walking in was a breeze. They ask you to wear mask, ask a series of questions, and check your temperature to offer a safe environment for you, the workers, and other patients. Terry is great and she always makes me feel comfortable and the acupuncturist always give the best care to you. I felt safe the whole time I was here given the circumstances that we all have going around. I have continued to schedule my appointments and always take the necessary precautions when walking in and walking out, as well as being treated.I definitely recommend coming and getting your treatments.Thank you Modern Acupuncture for being open during this time and offering the beat care and concerns for your patients and staff!

I have been a loyal member since Modern Acupuncture first opened. I have always been an advocate of holistic treatment where it’s possible, but even more so to experience the results and overwhelming support from the staff at MA! I’ve been victim to medical treatments in the past where taking a prescription drug was the only solution for every ailment, despite more “natural” options being available. Given all the stressors and unprecedented changes we are dealing with as a society today, individuals like myself who are prone to feeling anxiety, depression, insomnia, digestive issues etc, benefit so much from Acupuncture. A combination of the right vitamins, natural supplements, daily exercise and my acupuncture treatments have made me so much more emotionally and physically balanced. I sleep the BEST I have in years with zero meds! In fact, a restful night of sleep, as many know, is a major defense to warding off anxiety and depression. My acupuncturists (in both Brea and Huntington Beach), as well as the front office staff...including one of the owners Brett, treat me like I’m family EVERY single time I come in. They all genuinely care about my progress and journey to be healthy in every aspect of that word. The emotional support I receive from my MA Family and the feeling of being nurtured contributes to my overall success and positive results. Like anything that’s a more holistic option, you need to be committed because the results aren’t immediate but once you reach that point of “balance” in your body and mind, it’s amazing!!! I tried acupuncture at Modern Acupuncture for the first time in March and have continued going ever since! I felt a lot of repressed anger and my moon cycle flow had been interrupted for the previous 5 months. I read about emotional energy and the relationship between anger and our liver and decided to try acupuncture as part of my holistic healing. I felt the benefits of my first session immediately. The irritability and anger I felt walking in diffused. I felt lighter so I continued with the treatment Jenny, the acupuncturist, recommended. By the time my April cycle came around, I had done 5 acupuncture sessions and my flow showed significant improvements! I even brought both of my parents in! One for joint pain and the other for stress management. I have recently started supporting my leg & feet pain with acupuncture & I am experiencing relief and improvement in mobility. I personally don’t like needles very much and dread getting vaccines or shots, but for some reason the way these micro needles are inserted & removed is hardly noticeable. The acupuncturists have a graceful touch. The team at Brea Modern Acupuncture is so welcoming! I look forward to seeing Terri and Alexa when checking in for my appointments. I am taking a one year position at a boarding school in India & will miss MA & the team greatly! If you’re mildly interested in acupuncture, drop in & give them a visit.

Im updating my review and giving 5 stars because I came in for my fertily journey with no luck after 6 months i decided to try domething new, Jenny was great and she wanted me to see her every 3 days for the first month along with vitamins, well im so happy to say Im expecting and the only difference in the month of August were my visits to Modern Acupuncture :)

I’ve had a great experience at Modern Acupuncture in Brea. It’s really easy to make appointments both online and on the phone. There’s plenty of parking with easy access to the location. Terri is a warm, call you by name, caring person and my family loves her. The acupuncturists James and Jenny are really good and know their stuff. Overall a pretty good experience

Im usually early and on time to appointments. Today I was late. Terri welcomed myself and my guest and help get us checked in. Jenny was great. I hardly felt her placing the needles. I felt great after my appointment.

I had great experience getting an acupuncture treatment here. It was really clean and had a great feel about the place. The Zen Den was really relaxing and modern looking. I have had a few acupuncture treatments before, but have not been comparable to one like this. The massage chairs where they give the treatments are so comfortable with the heat and massage features. They only had curtains between the chairs, but I really dont mind it. They had nice TVs with soothing pictures and relaxing music that you are looking at while reclined back in the chair. I got a treatment from Alyssa, who was very nice! I fell asleep during the treatment and felt great afterwards. My shoulder pain went away and I slept amazingly well. Overall, had a very good experience with acupuncture here and would recommend it to anyone interested!

The staff is very professional and makes you feel comfortable. If you are afraid of needles there is no need to worry as you can barely feel anything. I have definitely felt a difference mentally and physically since I have started going here.

Very effective. This surprised me, points used in the treatment do not require disproving. Very calming and relaxing. I just started glow treatment, too soon to comment on that.

I suffer from PTSD and a general fear of needles. Always unable to give blood for RedCross due to my anxiety not allowing me to be calm enough to be poked. The receptionist and acupuncturist are a DREAM TEAM for their calming effect. I left my first appointment with a new outlook on a lot of things, but acupuncture being #1. Seriously, everybody should consider this at least once in life. Im legitimately going back tomorrow for a 3:30pm appointment.

I have been to this place many times and every time has been a great experience. Everyone there is very helpful and respectful. The front office person Terie is so friendly and welcoming and knows me by name. When I come here I don’t feel like just another number but I actually feel that they all truly care about my needs and treatments. Terie always has my tea ready when I am done with my session and is very helpful in setting up my additional appointments. Jen and James the acupuncturists are certified and very knowledgeable in their field and know exactly what I need when I come in. I always leave the zen den feeling refreshed, relaxed, and invigorated. I highly recommend this place for all your acupuncture needs, pain management, and relaxation station. Terie will be able to help you and explain everything to you to get started, the initial process is easy and you will be glad you went!!!

My rating experience is based on previous Acupunture services I sought in the 1990s to battle Bell’s palsy. Bell’s palsy usually freezes half of your face and prevents you from: closing your eye(s), smiling, clearly speaking, etc. I also experienced drooling from the corner of my mouth. Horrible memories and freightening to know Belsy palsy may return. After seeing many doctors, taking steroids, and suffering depression, a doctor I worked with at the Dept. Of Health, specializing in HIV/AIDS, told me to stop the medications and seek the services his patients found successful, Acupuncture. My illness disappeared after receiving acupuncture and today I’m fine. Those 1990 needles were inserted on a cold thin bed, in a dark and dreary room. That’s then this is now...A few years ago I began to suffer arthritis pain in my knees. My doctors recommended knee replacement. Thankfully Modern Acupunture was there and provided exactly what I needed. The atmosphere, talented staff, available hours and relaxation techniques are stellar!! I highly recommend Modern Acupuncture to everyone who suffers from pain and is willing to keep an open mind.Unfortunately, for some unknown reason, Acupuncture is mostly promoted as glamorous, athletic, cosmetic, and very vogue. Acupuncture accomplishes much, much more pertaining to your well being, pain relief and spiritually. For this reason I rate Modern Acupuncture four stars instead of five. Targeting a diverse population is important.To all women experiencing difficulties getting pregnant, you may do as well as my niece by seeking a medical professional who uses Acupuncture. It works!
