I dont know why they dont examine you. Im not very confident going forward and I havent even had the procedure yet. I had a woman yell at me is that a colonoscopy is not a one-day prep its a two day prep. Is that supposed to make me feel better? Whoever that one woman is she is rude and snarky and sarcastic. She needs to not comment about peoples family history as if shes using it to scare people because shes not a doctor. Apparently their meetings are more important to them than their patients

Not a great experience. I was referred to this doctor by my general physician and I first read google reviews, so when I made my appointment I asked specifically if I would be seeing a doctor at my initial appointment (and mentioned reviews from patients who said they did not see a doctor) and was told that yes I would be. But when I had the appointment it was a physicians assistant, who ordered a surgical procedure. She seemed knowledgeable, but for me surgery is not routine care and I wanted to make sure it was necessary. I canceled the procedure and Im going somewhere else for a 2nd opinion where I can meet with a doctor.

Trying to work with this office was impossible. I had gotten a new insurance plan and was trying to see Dr. Nakshabendi because he is within my network, I had a urgent referral to see him from my primary care doctor but the office did not seem to care. Below are the events that lead up to me leaving this review all because the office manager Tara said I could not be seen due to seeing a different gastro. I hope others have luck but if you have seen a different gastro prior to them DO NOT let them know or they will not see you.8/11/2021 - appt. with my primary Dr. Edyln Brown. Gave me an urgent referral to Dr. Imad Nakshabendi, called the office to make an appointment in hopes of being able to schedule a colonoscopy at a sooner date, told me can schedule for 8/19/2021. Once they found out I had seen another gastro they told me no, can not see you until September even though I had an urgent referral from my primary. At this point bleeding has been daily for a month.8/12/2021 - Called Dr. Imad Nakshabendi office again , got the same answer. Uploaded my referal onto their online messaging system to set up an appointment. Got a response outside of office hours, Said I could be seen 8/17/2021 at 2pm. I called and left a message to confirm because there was not a response button.8/13/2021 - I called Dr. Imad Nakshabendi office again and they told me the appointment had been filled and I can not be seen until 9/2/2021. I scheduled this appointment. Since this was a later date than my colonoscopy9/1/2021 - colonoscopy performed by previous Dr, because Nakshabendis office would not allow me to start new. said biopsy results will come in 2 -3 weeks9/2/201 - 1:15pm had a new appointment with Dr. Imad Dakshabendi practice, telehealth call with Marie Scott. I explained to her my situation with the different Drs. and she explained to me my colonoscopy finds. She told me to make an appointment for 2 weeks from now or to call back when the biopsy results come in and she will look over them.9/2/2021 3:19pm - Dr. Imad Dakshabendi assistant. Tara, calls me to tell me they will not set up another appointment in 2 weeks, she needs to present my case to Dr. Nakshabendi because It seems I am fishing around I explained that I no longer want to be under the care of the other office as does not take my insurance and you are the practice my primary dr recommend I see. I also explained the multiple times I called to set up an appointment and the office staff refused to make me a sooner appointment and she said that yes the office staff did the right thing by not setting up a sooner appointment. She then asked why I still had the colonoscopy done and I told her because Dr. Dhaduvai was the only Dr. that was willing to make me an appointment sooner than later and I have now been bleeding for 2 months. She requested my files from Dr, Dhaduvai, they will be faxing them with Attention TaraTara said she will talk to Dr. Nakshabendi tomorrow and call me back to let me know if he will continue as a Dr. for me

While scheduling I was told I will be seeing Dr. Nakshabendi but after signing the financial forms and other forms I was told a Nurse Practioner will be seeing me. She did not even examine me and sent me off with very generic information that I could honestly get off of WebMD or Google. When I asked her why I was not examined she said this is their office procedure that they only consult in the first visit. How can they perform a procedure or even recommend anything without a basic examination. Just ways of minting money from patients. Total waste of time and money.

Worst experience of my life. Scheduled for an EDG 08/30/2021 big mistake. I knew I should of gone with my gut feeling that day. My appointment was scheduled for 11:00am I didn’t get called back into a room until 12:50. As the nurses prepared for my I.V I warned them it’s hard to get a good vein and they might have difficulty finding one. It took 4 different nurses and 7 I.V sticks later. I was traumatised as one nurse hit my nerve I felt like my hand was on fire. I’ve never in my life felt pain like that before. After I woke up from the EDG I proceeded to get dressed and went home.later that evening I was in so much pain in my throat and chest I ended up going to the ER. It felt like he damaged my Oesophagus. I’ve had many EDG but never one like this before to leave me in so much pain. I will never return back to this physicians office again.

There quite a bit i will say about this place in light of my first experience. I came here for a 2nd opinion and realized quickly it was a waste of time. These people do not care about you or your health. Its just a business, thats it.1. For one, I came to see a Gastroenterologist and instead was assigned his NP. They waited till i arrived and signed all paperwork to tell me that the doctor does surgeries today so he wont be in. Sure enough, I accepted it and let that slide.2. What alarmed me next was the NP was very stand off in addressing my concerns. I literally even had to ask for my blood pressure to be taken and a physical examination of my bowels to be done in light of my medical concerns . Had I not requested it, she wouldnt have even examined to provide a fair opinion on any updates with my bowel sounds.3. I provided the office my lab results that was taken as it related to my symptoms. She explained she didnt get it and while I offered to share it again (I had it on hand) so I could know further what was going on with me, she insisted I just have my primary care review. My medical concerns are very serious and urgent yet while shes a medical professional with access to the ilab work taken for my gastric functioning, she didnt even care to look at it.4. I had pictures of my recent stool which I know is uncomfortable to look at, but would have preferred her review it and at least examine the hemorrhoid to let me know if there is any new concerns I should be aware of. She didnt want to see anything. She showed me a diagram of an internal hemorrhoid that hangs out vs external one. I had no clue which one I really had. She didnt care to look at the pics I had of mine or even evaluate me to let me know.If doing the necessary evaluations to provide a proper consult as a specialist in gastric care is a challenge, why bother offer the service?I dont know if this is how they treat all their patients or if they are just selective but I was not happy with my encounter here. I have a lot more I can share from this experience but Ill just leave it at that.

Very disappointed!I took my father to the Brandon facility today for the first time, to be seen by Dr. Nakshabendi. Our PCP specifically instructed that he needed to be seen by the doctor. Before the appointment, I called their office to ask if I could be allowed inside with my father and they said no, that they are allowing patients only. However, I noticed many couples coming in and out of the office without any restrictions today. When they called my father in, they notified him that Dr. Nakshabendi was not in the office, that he was going to be back on Friday, and also that he doesnt do evaluations, he only does procedures, so they had him scheduled with a nurse. This was not informed to us previously. My dad requested a doctor and they did accommodate him with another provider who did not introduce himself properly, so we do not know if he was a PA a nurse or a MD.The receptionist was rude over the phone, showing no courtesy or phone etiquette at all. After waiting for over an hour, I called to check on his status, she picked up the phone and hung up immediately without saying anything. I called again and she kept me waiting for an unreasonable amount of time. When she finally took the call I asked a specific question and she replied to me with a well, yeeaaaah with an annoyed and sarcastic tone. We waited from 2:30 to 5:10 pm. Besides the receptionist rudeness, I also noticed that she made a few mistakes on the studys order, which by the way she scheduled without asking my dad his availability. She omitted the arrival time and wrote a wrong date. To me, this is the type of staff that will ruin a doctors practice. Please, pay attention to the majority of reviews here, they are mainly about the same issue front desk/staff service.

Beware and ask questions. This place seems to have little to no respect for patients. Before making an appointment with Dr Nakshabendi, I researched his background, which is impressive. During my visit, a nurse practitioner came in the room. She did not introduce herself and began asking a series of questions to determine my need. I erroneously assumed she was gathering information for Dr. She immediately wanted to schedule me for an exam. At this point, I asked if I would see the Dr. She politely informed that I would not. She informed that she and others were the gatekeepers for Dr. and that he would perform the procedure. I then firmly requested to meet with the Dr., so they rescheduled me for another appointment. Needless to say, I had to pay for the second visit. When I arrived for 2nd visit, Dr. came out to greet me. Immediately I commented on the fact that he seemed young to have such extensive credentials. During this consultation, I was scheduled for a different exam. On date of this exam, I was prepped and in Exam Room with 4 medical personnel in place. I asked if the Dr had arrived, and was informed that Dr was indeed present and in the room. When Dr introduced himself, I was shocked, as I had not met this Dr. My surprise was noted by all present. I explained to the real Dr that one of his staff had passed himself office as the Dr. Im sure my puzzlement was noted by all personnel in exam room. I did not like my entire experience and will not recommend this Dr. While I dont doubt hes most likely knowledgeable and extensively experienced in his field, I think this is not a respectful way to treat patients.

Review №70

Let me preface this review by saying it is not my nature to cast unfounded unfavorable remarks on anyone without facts. But I felt compelled after my experience with Dr. Imad and his staff to write this review as a warning to others.First, when you book an appointment with a specialist that implies something potentially serious is going on with you health wise. So you want to see people who have dedicated their lives to your area of concern. When I booked my appointment with Dr. Imad I never saw him. You instead will see his assistant, at least I did. She didnt seem sure about how to approach my issue, even after I shared with her how this exact same issue was addressed with a previous GI specialist. That was the first red flag, you expect to see the specialist and you end up seeing the PA. Thats fine if the office will tell you before hand he is booked doing procedures so you will have to see the PA, but that wasnt shared with me.Second, the office staff booked me to an outpatient facility that didnt even take my insurance. Mine you I didnt find this out until a day before I was about to show up for the procedure. And when its a colonoscopy it demands serious prep before, that I had already started. Okay fine, they rescheduled me to another surgery center for 4 days later that does take my insurance and Dr. Imad is at. Oh and the previous surgery center had me down for the wrong procedure, scary!I start my prep over again for the new procedure date, I was told the total time for this would be no more than 2 to 2.5 hrs total. I showed up to the surgery center and had to wait 2.5hrs just in the waiting room! And then I spent another hour (1hr) waiting in the back. Finally get rolled into the OR area, Dr. Imad comes in briefly, first time Ive met him by the way. Ask me why Im here, I tell him colonoscopy and the reason is that Im trying to determine if I have a stomach ulcer, because I had one 5yrs earlier with the same symptoms. He says okay and Im sedated.Procedure happens. Afterwards during recovery he comes around briefly, tells me the results are good, colon looks fine. I asked what about the stomach ulcer, do I have one? He says, Stomach Ulcer? You cant find that out unless you do the Endo procedure! I said okay did you do it as well because the notes the PA wrote were for him to also do a Endo if the colonoscopy was good. He says no call my office sir to work that out as he is backing away because he is backed up with patients. Really!! Did you even read the notes?? NO! So I go through all of that still not knowing whats wrong with me and he wants me to go through his office again for what? To see his assistant, to come back and have another procedure that could have been done at the same time. Here is where it gets sketchy, when you do your sign in paper work at this outpatient facility there is a statement you have to initial saying this doctor has a financial interest in the his facility. Translation, he is a partner owner so he is receiving compensation from these procedures above what insurance pays. And when the nurses was baffled why he didnt just do the Endo with colonoscopy, they tell me he is the only doctor there that wont do both at the same time. Now why do you think that is? Because why do both in one appointment when you can have your office book patients for two and he is benefiting for additional procedures as a partner at this facility! He had no concern about my health condition and was eager to end our conversation to continue his colonoscopy factory of overbooking and making people wait all day while he is not seeing patients back at his office.Total time spent for this day at this facility for the procedure was 5hrs! I share all this as a warning, this isnt patient care, this is financial gain. His office staff is not detailed because they probably have too many coming in to this scam of a practice. And the PA and Dr. Imad are clearly not communicating about patients because his actions clearly displayed he had not talked to or read anything in detail! Beware!

If you value your life or your loved ones DON’T GO TO THIS OFFICE. My husband had a basic imaging procedure on his stomach on a Friday. By Friday night he began feeling sick so I called them on Saturday. After going back and fourth letting them know he was experiencing complications over a couple of days they left him for nearly a week without following up when I kept calling to let them know this was serious. My husband had to go to his primary care doctor and the emergency room to get help because nothing was being done other than a prescription over the phone for gaviscon and some anti nausea meds. Additionally, after the procedure I never saw the doctor and to this day I still don’t know the results of his imaging procedure. They waited a WEEK before asking to follow up knowing all this was going on. I ended up taking him to an emergency room where they were able to make him feel better WITHIN THE HOUR. He spent five days unable to hold food and liquids down and this office did NOTHING because they didn’t care. I wouldn’t trust this office with anything serious because in good faith I don’t know if they would take proper after care of their patients. The ER doctor and Primary care doctor were both shocked that this office was aware that my husband had been vomiting since the day after his procedure when he was perfectly healthy before but Dr. Nakshabendi didn’t ask to follow up. Beware and Stay away from this office. Dr. Nakshabendi and his staff were grossly negligent with my husbands health and wrote us off multiple times so I hope I can spare someone else a week of stress.Edited to add for full disclosure: they are justifying their reasoning for letting my husband vomit for a week straight because he had a sip of alcohol on accident and some spaghetti on Friday and I made the doctor aware that both were in small quantity and should not cause A WEEK OF VOMITTING WITH NO ACTION OR ATTEMPTING TO CHECK ON HIM. We were so angry at the way they have been responding to us that we will no longer go to this office so we left his office because the EMERGENCY ROOM DID HIS JOB FOR HIM. We were ten minutes late because we went to the wrong plaza I walked in and checked him in and disclosed that we were behind and received an annoyed “ok” when my husband walks in they tell him they were going to reschedule him because he walked in after me and it was an appointment for my husband so it didn’t count that I signed him in so he was 15 minutes late. She didn’t bother to tell me this while I’m standing there she chose to wait until my husband had to come in to tell us. We followed EVERYTHING they were asking of us- we are human and so because he made a small error they wrote him off until he was in serious condition and had to be rushed to a hospital. Nice. Don’t be a doctor if you don’t want to deal with people. They only made the consultation because I called them to tell them we took him to the hospital. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

Checked in over a month ago and never met doctor. Two days prior to my procedure I call to fund out I was never schedule - the surgery center worked to make that happen. The evening before my procedure I was contacted to provide additional documentation - something that cannot happen when your PCM is the VA and Tricare.Showed up as directed only to sit an hour before someone decided to check in with me. Finally check in to be told the procedure is at noon.Highly recommend you choose a different doctor. I am sitting here hoping like hell his treatment skills are not as piss poor as his staff/time management skills.

I saw Dr Karim today for my consultation he addressed all my concerns about the procedure; was very thorough about going over everything even got the meds I needed right there and then, a coupon for the otc med, and all the instructions as well; couldn’t have been any simpler. The office staff Lizzette and Sophia were incredibly nice, professional, and have a great personality when it comes to interacting with patients; so please promote them if possible I will be sending more patients their way.

Scheduled an appointment as a new patient about 6 months ago. On the first visit I was told that something came up and I would be seen by the nurse practitioner. She was nice but as a new patient I expect to see the doctor. I understood that things happen so I scheduled a follow up appointment with the doctor. The day of that follow up appointment they called to tell me the doctor would not be in. I rescheduled the appointment again with the instructions that I have not seen the Dr and I want to be seen by the Dr. The day of my appointment they call me to tell me the Dr. will not be available but I can be seen by the nurse practitioner. I informed them that this is the third time I have been switched and would not be rescheduling. Very disappointed in this office.

I am still waiting for anything to be done. I am in pain constantly as soon as I finish with the meds, which I had to take a 2nd round of. They will not schedule my colonoscopy until after 6 weeks have passed after a flare up. So I will suffer for another 6 weeks in pain. There has to be another option. Feeling concerned and in pain.

I have been a patient of Dr. Nakshabendi for a little over three years now. I Have been in and out of the ER and misdiagnosed by many other GI doctors. When I came to this practice in desperate need of life threatening help, they listen to every word I said, followed up on every symptom and procedure possible to figure out what the issue was. They did not stop until we found the proper problems and current treatment options! Which could not be said with many other physicians offices. Dr. Nakshabendi, his medical assistants and entire staff are absolutely wonderful! Including my favorite, Lisette, Nora & Brittany in the front office! I could not do it or have done it without you guys. From making numerous emergency  appointments to accommodate me, you all staying late to assist me in obtaining orders, and much more! You literally saved my life and I am forever grateful to you all personally and your professional practice!

I have been going here for at least 5 years.I had put off my colonoscopy for years due to a bad experience with my first one. My primary Dr. booked me with Dr. Nash saying he was her Dr. and how good he was.I went to my procedure having never met Dr Nash. When I was all prepped and ready he came in and talked to me a long time. answered all my questions and fears. Then Dr Syracuse as we call him- knocked me out. Next thing I knew it was over I was awake and felt great. I wanted to go to work but Dr. Nash said NO- home and rest.Everyone in this offices is special. Tara makes sure you get your appointments, and if you need help Nutrition wise Dr. Nashs wife is the best. She helped me lose 40 pounds just by eating different foods and watching what I was eating.I highly recommend them!!! Laura Jean Goodsell

I am posting from Tampa General. I had colonoscopy on Thursday. Had previous initial appointment at the office with nurse practitioner and just met the doctor day of procedure which is not uncommon. My initial procedure date was rescheduled, I suspect due to an office error, not sure. However the evening of the procedure I awoke with increasing pain in the abdomen and I was burning up. By early morning, as temperature spiked, headed to ER and was subsequently admitted. (Called physicians office and recording states call emergency number if emergency or wait for normal business hours) So now it is Sunday, the hospital has yet to get a response from doctor, (other than a terse callback after a STAT page, from Dr Naks that he was not doctor on call this weekend.) Thank God no perforation, just apparent infection, but there was NO follow up or response by a physician from this practice 3 days into this complication. So, Id say consider another practice for surgery.

My wife needed to have an urgent appointment setup with a Gastroenterologist. After making numerous calls to various Gastroenterologist offices, we were unsuccessful in finding someone who would see her on short notice. However, upon contacting Dr. Nakshabendi’s office, we were pleasantly surprised and very impressed with the Clinical Coordinator - Lizzette Garcia who answered the phone. After explaining the urgency of our request for an immediate appointment, Lizzette showed compassion and within a couple of hours she worked very diligently to have an appointment setup for the morning of the very next day. She is a true professional who is very kind and compassionate. My wife’s procedure was then setup and performed within three (3) days of the initial appointment.I spoke with Dr. Nakshabendi immediately after the completion of the procedure. He is a very kind and gentle individual. He discussed his observations with us and advised on precautions that should be taken after the procedure.
