My mother is currently there for rehab and has fared well except for some unkindness from some shift nurses. I know mom had a lot of brain fog after surgery and was pretty helpless, but she should not be treated rudely when staff does not respond to her call light in an hour and she goes for help because they didn’t close her medical drain correctly and it was issuing blood on floor. This is what she told me.. I live out of state, so I don’t know first hand as to how she is being treated, but it sounded rude and unprofessional to me. Very bullying.Overall, I know this is an excellent facility, but there are some issues. I know all nurses everywhere are overworked and underpaid and in stressful jobs this year, so my heart goes out to them.

Both my grandparents stayed here. My grandmother seemed as happy as she could be. The staff all greeted her in the hallways and her health improved under their care. My grandfather past while there. Staff was very helpful to the family. While staff seemed nice, the facility itself could use some work. I wish they had more of a garden to wheel grandma around in. They could also use a better family dining or meeting area. Sofas/ chairs are a bit sad.

My mom had emergency surgery 2 years ago. When she was finally discharged from Blake hospital...every day was a nightmare there....she thrived at this rehab facility!!! She was treated with respect, dignity and well cared for. It is also clean!!! 2 years later (now) my mom is there due to a broken hip. Once again they are unbelievably accommodating!!! Our family can’t begin to express our gratitude to Brenda and staff! God bless you all!!!!

Both of my grandparents have been in Surrey Place Rehab. My grandmother had a hip replacement last year and my grandpa is there currently. The staff is wonderful and provide phenomenal care to all of their patients. This is my grandpas second trip to SP and I have every confidence that his journey this time will be just as great as the last.

My 93 year old mother stayed at Surrey Place to rehab from a back injury. She was there a total of 90 days. The staff was generally concerned over patients well being and recovery. After about 60days there my mothers condition inexplicably started to deteriorate. She became less mobil and fearful of moving. As her condition worsened the staff seemed to lose interest in working with her. At the end of her stay she suffered three skin wounds and needed to be hospitalized to surgically address the wounds. It was never made clear to us how these wounds had occurred. They all happened within three days and we were told she was “injured while transferring”During her hospitalization to address the wounds Surrey Place discharged her essentially wash8ng their hands. Toward the end of her stay there was lots of discussion about discharge planning but after she was sent to the hospital the administrative staff no longer provided any guidance. We were very disappointed and it felt like they just didn’t care.

My mother was there for about 6 weeks and believe me they are not worthy of 3 stars or 5 stars. One nurse taking blood got the needle stuck in my moms arm bone and nearly caused her to pass out from intense pain. They had maybe 2 employees that really care. Overnight people and weekend people were terrible. My advice is keep looking. Dont go here.

My mother resided at Surrey Place for several years. First in assisted living then moved to nursing care. The staff is by far the most dedicated and helpful people anywhere! The staff made sure all meds were given on time, she had exercise and activities to do, meals were nutritious and snacks were given if needed. The nurses and Aids treated my Mom with respect and friendship. It was so heartwarming to me to see how very much they all loved her!The office staff made sure all paperwork was up to date. They held care meetings so the families could be updated on all involved with her care and answered all my questions honestly. They listened when I had a concern and relayed my concern to the proper person. Always keeping Mom in mind with everything they did!As her health declined the nurses kept me informed 24 hours a day. When she needed to be in the hospital they made sure I got to Surrey before the ambulance. As her time came close the nurses and Aids would sit and hold her hand and talk to her. One nurse even came to work early just to fix moms hair so she would feel pretty! When mom passed, everyone from housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, food service, office, nurses, even the van driver let me know how much she was loved there. I think this speaks volumes about this facility! Excellent nursing care and well trained and loving staff! I have told my family this is where I want to go if I need long term nursing care.I LOVE Surrey Place...again..thank you Surrey for the loving care you gave my Mom, Idella Jackson. She was happy there.
