I was ready to rent a wheelchair for our stay in the area until I was advised they needed my drivers license number and social security number for the rental. When I asked why do you need my social, I was told it was in case I did not return the wheelchair, they need all that information to be able to send me to collections. With identify theft continuing as it is, I would never give my social out to a company like this nor have I ever given my social out to a company for a rental. You are allowed to run your business how you want. However, I believe it is important to let others know of your policies that do not go with todays time.

The way the employees treat the sick and elderly at this place is abuse. Sick people go here to purchase things to help them. They are the rudest group of ladies and so unhelpful. The owner is aware of this and keeps them anyways. They dont deserve our business. Someone should report them to business florida license board.

We purchased a lightweight walker for my husband for travel at HMP today. Stefanie and Frankie were simply wonderful with suggesting a suitable model and loads of helpful tips as well! Its easy to fold and easy to lift. A buckle snaps shut and the walker cannot suddenly open up.We have purchased several items from HMP before, so this was a return visit - highly recommended, impeccable service. And their socks for diabetics are also excellent.

I got my lift chair in 2016 and it felt firm but over a two year period the search in it has sunk and Im not a heavy person I called the store and was told there is nothing they will do about it. So beware that they do not stand behind their product. I paid over $1200 for it and now have to get another chair but you can be assured it wont be from them.

The women that waited on seem to be very abrupt to say the least, the gentleman that brought me made him feel like she was doing us a favor. I spendOver hundred & twenty five dollars and that’s a lot to me. When I got home and put my fell cushions in my recliner it was too short. I unwrapped it thinking it might have to expand none of my body parts touched it. I called to see if I could bring it back & exchange it. She refused, would not budge now I’m stuck with a $55 cushion.

My first visit here everyone was friendly and they had a good amount of supplies. However just after 3 days my $200 purchase from here broke, being on a Sunday and knowing I only had 5 days to return it I decided to go Monday morning. With it being Christmas the receipt got thrown away or misplaced, either way we couldnt find it. My first stop here I was told I couldnt do anything without having a receipt and to wait for the owner to come in. I waited until 12:30 and decided to call, the lady who answered the phone to take my info said to try back later for the owner but couldnt give me a time frame. After a couple more hours and no luck I decided to stop back in, still no owner and the ladies working the front were still no help, the lady who answered the phone didnt even write my name down right much less anything else about it. As they mumbled something under their breath about me the gentleman working reminded them that someone needed to deal with the boot. I was told I would get a call from the owner named Scottie just now received a call -not from the owner-saying their products did have a warranty from the company but I needed to have the plastic and pads and everything that came with it. Unfortunately I did not keep every little thing that came with it. For this being a family owned business they are the rudest group of people with the most careless attitude towards their customers. And being 2014 I dont see how its impossible to look up receipts in a computer system or find a receipt in their own books. I will never use them or recommend them again.

I cant say enough good things about this place. Now, the second time I went there I did have a bad experience. But, since its the only medical supply store/repair store in town. The last 3 experiences I have had over the last 2 months has been nothing but POSITIVE!!!I believe the wonderful mans name is Frankie. I just adore his skills with walkers and the like. He just has mad skills.I was even willing to pay to have the non spinning wheels put on.I didnt have to.

Their prices are on the high side and their return policy is atrocious.. One thing we wanted they didnt have in stock but said they would order it. Weeks passed and they never did get it. Staff tends to be surly and give limited help. If you buy something from them make sure you will keep it. They will not accept items returned after five days. We had bought a number of items from them together with a basket that cost $ 53 which was designed for attachment to a walker. We had been given a walker as a gift . Subsequently we found the basket could not be attached to it. Although it was in its original packaging and had never been used, HMP would not take it back. They first said that a Florida statute prohibited them from accepting returned medical items because they could be contaminated.. When we challenged that (there is no such law) they said it was store policy and pointed out they had a small sign on the wall in back of the counter notifying customers of that. They also refer to it at the bottom of their invoice which they give you after youve bought and paid for something that warns they will charge a 25% restocking fee on any item returned at the proper time. Our experience with other medical supply stores is that it is customary to have a 30 day return policy with a possible 15% restocking fee. Youre better off buying on the internet or at one of the big stores.

Store was a bit cluttered. The staff was a little rude. The biggest gripe I have is to rent a porta potty, they required a DL photo ID, credit card, & wanted full SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER!!! You know the one that says NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION !!! Ridiculous, Ill never shop there or recommend them again. No reason in this world to need a SS number to buy or rent a item like that.

Frankie at HMP medical really went out of the way to be helpful. Needing a part for a wheelchair for my father was becoming difficult, due to sizing and not knowing exactly what was need to fix it, to do over the internet. After stopping in at several other medical shops in town and dealing with rude employees, Frankie knew exactly what was needed for the repair and was exceptionally quick and curtious. Considering this is a mom and pop style store, the fact you get experienced help, and the fact you get to see and experience what you are buying makes it worth going to rather than shopping the internet. This was a positive experience, would recommend to friends and family.

Total ripoff...mom called to tell them that her brake cable came out of the handle and asked how much it would cost to fix the cable....Mom was told it was $9.9 something by the owner and would take about 10 min. to fix so we could wait. We figured about $10 was a nice fair price and drove a total of 20 miles round trip to get there. When I arrived I was told it would be just a few minutes so I waited and then the cashier who is the owners mother rang me up and told me it was $26 and something cents, I said thats not right we were quoted approximately $10 and she said that that did not include labor I stated that we were not told that and let me go see if mom wants to pay that much so when I came back and I said well shes not very happy, and we would never be back But go ahead and fix it, the walker was already done. The cashier (mother) said sorry she feels that way after everything we did for her, so if charging more than double the cost quoted is everything they did for her then no thank you...she even asked if I was on the phone when quoted the price and she said maybe my mom just forgot...at $15.00 for labor for a five min. job this guy is actually charging $180 an hour for labor. TOTAL RIPOFF, LACK OF COMMUICATION, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

I bought a nasal mask for a cpap, $ 99.99 the quality is very bad the air filters through my face, it makes a lot of noise, like a trumpet, it is impossible to use, the seller did not want to return the money, nor let that money on account for exchange for another product. Money thrown away.
