After Rayco installed a new outdoor appliance for me, a second appliance started tripping the circuit breaker, so I asked Rayco to return. They diagnosed the problem as a power surge caused by the faulty older appliance under specific circumstances, and demonstrated it to me so that there was no doubt. They also took the time to clean up some stray dangling wires that had been left by a previous worker. Im grateful for their attention to detail and interest in making sure that I understood everything they were doing.

I chose this business because they are a Better Business Council member through the Manatee Chamber of Commerce. As the BBC manager, I know the business and I felt confident they were a business I could trust with my new home. They were wonderful to work with from start to finish. I had a FHA 203k renovation loan which required a lot of moving parts and technical issues. They worked with me to get all the paperwork in that was required and the constantly moving start date, thanks to the electric company. Ray was awesome about taking the time to explain electric terms in person that I could understand. He also never batted an eye when I said I wanted a switch flipped or little extras that werent on the original contract. Once we were a go, they showed up on time and accommodated my other contractors that were also there the week they were getting their things done. Very professional from start to finish. I can highly recommend them as a business that adheres to a higher standard of doing better business in the Manatee County Area.

Rayco Electric personnel - Maryanne - who I spoke with several times to set up the appointments and provide and get a status; Charlie - who came and assessed the problem and run the temporary power from the meter to the house; Russ and Paul - who came to run the new main power line underground from the meter to the house were excellent. The 3rd party company they contract with to dig the ground and run the underground pipe were good once they showed up to do the job. That is my only criticism. The diggers did not show up when they were scheduled and did not notify Rayco. But Rayco personnel themselves were very professional.

Recently had some major electrical work done at my house by Rayco. First I will say out of 8-10 companies I had come out for on site evaluations to get a quote. Barney was the only one who understood and fully comprehended what was going to need to be done. Other contractors (big name companies) didnt even bid me properly for what I asked for and was needing. Rayco came back with a very fair and reasonable bid and I decided to go with them. They scheduled me in, no delays or re-scheduling. Everyone arrived on time day of the work and everything was done and approved by inspectors same day. Overall I am very happy with the quality of work they preformed. I would recommend them to anyone with electrical needs.

Russ and Paul are just finishing the third FPL pole replacement and installation of gang meter boxes for our mobile community, Citrus Grove Estates. Paul installed 2 lights for me. He was friendly and obviously knew what he was doing. I also had a motion detector that didn’t work and it only took him about 1 minute to figure out that it was a setting on the light. Another electrician installed it and set it up incorrectly.

I Worked here myself. Theyve lost quite a few electricians over the Last few months and have replaced them with helpers. They try and promote helpers who have no schooling to electricians to compensate for the loss but Thats Just bad business. They do have a couple really good electricians there that Are highly underpaid. Everyone that has left there for another company has received better compensation for their skill set. I mean i could never see being a Master Electrician and work for a company for a good 15yrs or more and make less then $20/hr. or barely over that. If you use them hopefully you get the real electricians. Good luck

Over the weekend (of course!) we had a problem with the AC system on a rental property. The AC tech got the system temporarily working but we needed a licensed electrician to do the final repairs. I didnt have a regular electrician so I relied on two positive Google reviews to pick Rayco. Great choice! Raycos electrician (Jeremy) got to the job quickly, with excellent communications through the process explaining exactly what needed to be done and finished the job efficiently. Over priced, Lazy, Zero Communication within the company, set appointments and they call you the day of to change the appointment date. Install incorrect products after locations were clearly marked with product type, add change orders because they missed clearly marked circuits on plans. show up late leave early, technicians have no respect for personal property they leave the door open while ac is running, walk through without cleaning or wiping their shoes, leave trash and wire debris all over at the end of the day they dont clean up behind themselves. No regard for other trades or timelines.ABSOLUTELY NEVER WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE EVER!

This company is a joke; way overpriced services that do not get finished, yet the customer is forced to pay for them before completion and without any documentation. After months of trying to get through to them, they refused to finish the paperwork or repair what was necessary. They charged me over $140 to walk through my place for less than hour. Ive also dealt with some of their former employees in the past who are the worst electricians hands down, only to realize they will hire anyone with a pulse. Their manager Barney is a liar and a thief. I recently hired a much better electrical company who did a fantastic job, and also had nothing good to say about Rayco, Barney specifically.

They where very respectful of my needs. And gave me a really good deal pluse the workers are really nice. Im excited about when they get done with the work.

Avoid using if you live within the city limits of Bradenton. They recently took up a partnership with the Bradenton Police Department called The Chain Mobile Watch Program. Rayco Electric employees are trained to report anything suspicious to the police. What do they consider suspicious? Is it a reward based system, where they have an incentive to tattle?Do you use medical marijuana? Water your lawn on the wrong day? Have an expired vehicle tag? You could go to jail or face fines if you hire Rayco Electric and they snitch on you.They may offer great service, but I cannot support snitching to the Police/Govt, especially when YOU ARE PAYING THEM TO SNITCH ON YOU.

Rayco is just leaving our home, and I cannot rave enough about their professionalism. We have not used electricians frequently, my husband is pretty good at some things, but whenever we have used Rayco, my husband says they are the best, hands down.Their prices are fair, you never get gouged.Dee

Called Rayco, Explained exactly what I needed, Two technicians arrive and tell me they do not have the wire to complete the job. They (both of them ) climb back in the truck and disappear for an hour and 10 min and returned from Home Depot (the wire still had the HD Tape) they started on the job , Next they come to me and ask if I have any bolts, they broke one and don’t have one in the truck , I had one and they finished the job They give me a bill for 2 ½ hours. I complained about paying for time for both of them to drive to HD. He explained to me that I could not expect him to carry every kind of wire (or bolts) the job was done fine but you are warned if you do not live next to Home Depot expect your bill to double.

We had another electrician tell us we needed to replace our ENTIRE panel ($$$$) after they changed 2 bad breakers for $200+. They even said it was “dangerous” to continue with it - wanted nearly $2k to replace it. We got a second opinion from RayCo. Turns out the bus bar was damaged ONLY in one area, so easy enough to move the breaker to an undamaged section - no new panel needed. Arcing and minor bus damage is fairly common when a breaker gets loose, so not a big deal. Amazing what some unscrupulous vendors will do to make a buck. We have stuck with RayCo for all our needs on multiple properties. This was an unsolicited testimonial, by the way.
