Dr Tally is one of the best, most caring doctors. My husband had back surgery yesterday. Thanks to Dr Tally, I always knew what was going on and never had a question after talking with him about the procedure and during recovery. I am very thankful we went to see him.

The best. He was my second back surgeon who had to repair a few issues that werent done correctly from another back surgeon who performed 2 back surgeries on me and made a mess out of back. I couldnt get anywhere with that Dr. to fix the ongoing problems from those surgeries, so I went to Dr. Tally for a second opinion. He was thorough and went over every aspect of my back history including before and after both back surgeries. He determined that another back surgery would be needed to readdress what was wrong. He didnt just jump right at an opportunity to provide surgery. He was thorough in why he felt it was necessary and asked me if i agreed. Integrity. The surgery made a world of difference for me. I would highly recommend him.

My husband and I would highly recommend Dr. Tally. I had been in several car accidents over the years and eventually had to have an inversion corrected in my neck, 3 bone spurs removed, a plate and 8 screws added to my neck. But I had been in chronic pain for the past 6 years. The surgery was a success. My chronic pain is gone. Im no longer using a walker or a cane to get around. Dr. Tally also repaired my Carpal Tunnel with a Zplasty. No more pain! Dr. Tally also repaired the ruptured disc in my husbands back. And hes 100% again.

I was fortunate enough to have Dr. Tally as my Neuro Surgeon! I originally had met with Dr. Tally as a second opinion. Originally I went to a Chiropractor (wont say the name) and they told me after reading my MRI that I had 3 herniated discs. They then tried to sell me their program. I met with Dr. Tally, he was extremely personable and will be as technical or as layman as you need. He was straight forward and advised me that my L-5 was fully ruptured. I was having pain walking or sitting up. He said hes in no hurry to do surgery and to try to give it a few weeks to see if the pain would subside and I could avoid surgery. Think about that...A Surgeon who doesnt just try to force surgery on you..what a concept! Anyhow, it got worse and I could no longer walk or sit up-right. I consulted with Dr. Tally again due to the extreme pain and he said we need to get you in for surgery as quickly as possible. He offered to drop everything and do it then, however it was Wednesday before Thanksgiving and he was honest and said that his A-Team Staff is not there. I voted to wait until the next week. His staff moved around other scheduled surgeries at the River Walk Facility and got me in at 7am Monday morning! Amazing!!! I couldnt walk in, so my wife wheeled me in a wheelchair. They got me in the back right away as it hurt to sit up. I had the discectomy and was home by 10am! I walked out on my own accord. RELIEF!!! Its been two weeks to the day since my surgery and I feel awesome! I am already up to walking 3 miles/day and I have Dr. Tally to thank for it!

Love Dr Tally. They got me in right away after I was in the ER. Got an MRI same day and had my surgery 4 days later.

I thought long and hard when deciding to post this review. After receiving a diagnosis by Dr. Tally of a herniated disk and a recommendation of spinal laminectomy surgery, I agreed to the procedure and scheduled it for December 2017. Immediately after the surgery, I noticed that my back pain was much higher and sharper than before, but thought it could be part of the recovery. Shortly after, as I recovered some mobility, I noticed that my left leg was now not responding properly when I walked and it seemed very weak. This was not a problem I had before the surgery.I consulted Dr. Tally about this and was told that I should wait a few more weeks for everything to go back into place, that mine was an “amperage” problem and not a “voltage” problem.Three months went by and my leg did not recover at all. Actually, the pain was now constant and much stronger than before the surgery. I was sent to have an MRI and X-rays done to take a look at the affected area and it was determined that I needed another surgery. This time it would be a lumbar spine fusion, and it had to be done soon. The surgery was scheduled for the beginning of March 2018. Immediately after the procedure, I woke to excruciating pain and the same (or worse) lack of response on my left leg. Again, I was told that I had to wait for everything to go back to its place and set, for the swelling to go down and possibly physical therapy.I completed 3 months of physical therapy and there was no change to my worsen condition. After consulting Dr. Tally yet again regarding the lack of improvement, I was told that I had to allow at least 6 months to recover from a lumbar fusion. After 7 months, I returned to his office for a follow up with a new MRI, and was told that I might now need a THIRD surgery to see what can be done to repair the new damage. It has now been almost 11 months since the fusion and I never recuperated full control and strength of my left leg.I’ve consulted two other surgeons for second opinions at the BioSpine Institute in Tampa and Coastal Orthopedics in Bradenton, before considering a third surgery. I was told that there was now nerve damage to my left leg and was sent to have a nerve study and a new CT scan done to determine exactly where and how severe the damage is. After reviewing the results, I was advised independently by both surgeons not to undergo a third surgery, as it would not repair the nerve damage done to my left leg.Walking is not smooth or controlled as it was before the first surgery. My left leg is weak and has a sort of hesitation to respond. I have a constant limp now that causes pain when I walk more than 100 yards. Both doctors agree that I most likely have to live with this condition for the rest of my life. This has impacted my quality of life tremendously. After 20 years in my profession, I can no longer work on it, as it is physically demanding and I cannot perform. Running or walk at a fast pace is no longer possible. Sports is not an option any more and exercise is very limited.I wish I could go back in time and not agree to the first surgery. The pain from the herniated disk was definitely preferable to this permanent handicap and limitations. I 100% regret agreeing with Dr. Tally to perform the surgery.

I was very hopeful after other good reviews and my intake appointment. Recommended kyphoplasty. Scheduled the procedure without an appointment first to go over exactly what would be done. I kept calling and women on the phone kept saying I would have time to talk to him before the procedure. Not true, he didn’t talk to me at all. The nurse put my blood pressure cuff on the wrong arm and then they questioned every move she made after that which was quite unsettling for me. My first broken bones my first procedure and you’re questioning the nurse if my IV is going to fall out & why the cuff is on the wrong arm? Billing was a major mess they changed the price on me THREE times. I had to do a go fund me to come up with enough funds and I was over quoted by over $1000. Which I was not informed of until just 3 days before the procedure. No one called me for blood work I called in on my own with questions and they realized I hadn’t gotten any (2days before procedure...what if something was wrong..2days?). Then instead of reading my chart they just kept freaking out over me being diabetic. Read my chart ladies the medication is for another disease. To top all of this unorganization Dr. Tally left the ambulatory building before I even came to. Didn’t get to talk to him or ask any questions. He told my mother I could “whatever I feel like doing”. Nurses said absolutely not. My scheduled surgery time was at 8:30 and changed to 12 again no phone call about that I called to verify time. I even said “great now he’ll be in hurry to get off for the weekend”. Was i actually right? He didn’t even wait to make sure i was ok. I’m not ok if anyone cares. I was prescribed no pain meds and I’ve been laying in excruciating pain for 3 days. Dr. King “on-call” simply said, “there’s usually not that much pain involved you can stay home or go to the ER.” That was the advice we got. I am in my early 30s and my life has been miserable for 2 years already from my injury. Did I just pay every dime I have to hurt worse? I don’t even know what to do or who to talk to. This has been an awful experience. If they redeem themselves this week I will update, but so far I’m at a loss. Update: held on through the weekend and went to tally’s office Monday morning. He finally prescribed something for pain but was incredibly dismissive of my pain. Said he had to force the cement more than in an older patient and my steroid wore off and that’s why it’s so incredibly awful right now. He also kept saying things like “I doubt YOU hurt yourself over the weekend” I am aware that I haven’t done anything I’m more interested in what happened during my procedure. Well 11:00pm rolls around and I’ve taken the new prescription and it hasn’t touched my pain. I’d rather be dead than feel this anymore. My mom called Dr. tally and his answering service confirmed he got her message. Never called. I was hoping the patient care at this office would get better after seeing the pain I’ve been caused from this procedure. My family wants me in the hospital and I’m afraid to even get out of bed. & dr tally can’t even call back. He should have also briefed us on what to expect, I was never even told about a steroid and it wearing off. Tally said “i was hard to control and begged not be put under”. I asked not to be intubated i was told either way I’d be asleep. I’m pretty sure i paid an anesthesiologist a pretty penny to keep me under, not my fault, And my mother and I also told them of our high tolerance to lidocane and how it does not work for us. I feel like I was a rushed procedure and I am cared for very little at this office. I very much regret going here for my procedure and I recommend finding someone in Sarasota.

Im a 28 y/o male thats had multiple traumas to the spine and had caused bone spurs in my C3/4 area in the neck. After reviewing my MRI Doctor Tally recommended I get a couple other scans (nuclear spect & CT) done to get a good picture of what exactly was causing my discomfort. After reviewing those scans and examination of my symptoms, Dr.Tally said a discectomy and fusion of C3/4 with allograft would be the best solution. I had the surgery next door to his office at the Riverwalk Ambulatory Surgery Center and when I woke up from this procedure I knew immediately that the pressure I had felt for so long in my neck had been taken away. I would highly recommend Dr. Tally and his staff if you have spinal issues because they took very good care of me and feel like Dr. Tallys bedside manor is awesome, especially compared to many other doctors Ive seen in the past who dont give you the individual care you want and need in these situations. Thanks Dr. Tally, youve changed my life!
