I started to go to Lecom a few years ago and now both my wife and I have gotten our teeth deep cleaned and a few filings done.I am very happy at how they operate. They are a school so have some patience and be prepared for a longer experience than a regular dentist. The students have to stop periodically and have their work checked so it takes more time.Ask the students and dentist questions be proactive and you will enjoy your dental experience better

Be careful wasting your time here. I was a new patient and thought I could save some money by using there services. I was dead wrong. My dentist name was Mina Bassaly and on my first visit he was polite. After consultation he began to be pessimistic of they could actually do. At first I was told something which seem to change after every appointment. I ended up wasting two months of my time in four different appointment. In the last appointment they said there was nothing they could do for me. Mina Bassaly was a horrible dentist and would not recommend him to anyone. He is just looking for a easy case. Do not be fooled they are very limited to what they can do. Do not use their services for anything. Just a big waste of time.

This place is a nightmare.I went in for a filling. The dentist running the clinic was too busy to supervise the student that worked on my tooth. I’m now looking at a root canal and crown because of the damage that was done to my tooth. $4,000 worth of work from a competent dentist to fix it.

LECOM is a place where students practicing and training for their craft are also helping the general population save A LOT of money! Thanks for being here, LECOM. Staff and students were professional and fun! It may take a little longer than a regular dental office, but that’s due to the fact that students are closely monitored, and every step is under the watchful eye of a highly qualified dental instructor, who is a practicing/retired dentist as well. It’s also interesting because as the instructor is explaining steps and procedures to the student, you, the patient, are getting a good understanding of what’s happening. We’ve used LECOM twice over two years for some very specific dental needs, and they’ve never failed. Highly recommend!

If you are a college student with hopes and dreams of attending this dental school...maybe consider a learning institution that has more promise of a future. A college like Trump University. After spending well into 5 figures and a year of her life devoted to the Master of Medical Sciences degree with an A minus GPA and great DAT scores, they wont even have the decency to respond to my daughters application to their dental school. Diploma mill. Dont believe these grifters. Theyre only out to make a buck and leave you with a worthless piece of paper after jumping through all their hoops and believing their promises.

Have had seven teeth pulled and two crowns put in eight months ago, still have not received my partials, the school is suppose to be open from nine untill five yet nobody is answering the phone until two hours later my temporary partials broke four times, once from eating a French fry the last time ,last Thursday some Spanish lady put in a temporary crown she kept telling me not to eat on it, that night it fell out it had little cement in it and was very thin and split on both sides. I could go on but I have to say I am an unhappy patient.

A lot more affordable than seeing a practicing dentist. Just know that the people treating you are students who are required to have their work checked by their instructors (who are licensed dentists), so visits will take longer. The facilities are very nice and clean, and the students really care about their patients.

This is a school. If you think you were perfect as you were learning your trade, stop lying to yourself. The Doctors in attendance check every phase of the work and the students are eager and willing to work with you. Whiners and complainers, please stay home. If you , like me, appreciate being able to afford to maintain oral health, I hartley recommend you use their services. Mistakes happen, get over yourself.

5 for GREAT services from the students! However, the receptionist Kim was very rude on the phone. I asked her a question about services offered like if they did teeth contouring, and she responded maam.... these students are only third year we dont offer cosmetic dentistry. In a very condescending voice. - I didnt realize giving customers an attitude was in the job description. Ive frequented these services a handful of times with my mother, I obviously realize the background of the school. She could have just said no, have a nice day.

After several years of being seen here, I apparently became an unteachable case. My last student was willing to extract my teeth, this new student however did not want to work with me because of my tmj. 3 visits later with the new student, xrays, checks, etc each day lasting 3 hrs just to tell me this is your treatment plan and we cant do anything about it, see another dentist If you have any type of jaw issue, even teeth grinding they will note you as a unteachable case to. Though my experience with my last student was awesome, I should have done the extractions then with him apparently since then theyre rules changed so if you are anything but a cleaning and regular check ups, Dont waste your time here.

They said they would do dentures for my 93 year old mother for $668.00. Upon this she decided to have them pull her remaining bottom 7 teeth which cost her about 500.00 which she paid right away. NOW, that she has no teeth for almost a year- they say she has to have an operation to remove some bone and this will now cost about $2000.00 all told. They will not do dentures for her unless she has the operation. NO TEETH, LOW INCOME AND her Patient Rights have been ignored. Their EXCUSE- oh so sorry, unfortunately....... BS!!!!! DO NOT TRUST LECOM DENTAL to keep their word. When a person 94 years of age is FORCED to go under surgery in order for them to keep their promises- DONT TRUST THEM!!! They are a scam, untrustworthy and liars.

Ive been going to Lecom for several years and loved them. Today I came in for my appt and after checking in they took me to the chair, introduced me to my new student and asked me if I had paid. I told them the receptionist said I had to see my new student first. The student then asked me if I wanted flouride. I told him I didnt have the extra $20. Then he said I had to pay an extra $45 because there was a new rule that the $45 was to look at my gums. So they now charge $95 for a cleaning. I left in tears without my cleaning. How unprofessional to say the very least!! I should have been informed long before I drove an hour, checked in and sat in the chair!! Ill never go back. I feel so scammed!!!

Simply one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a business.Ive had experiences with dental schools before--my experience with the IU School of Dentistry in Indianapolis was excellent, though I moved before the work could be finished.I first went to LECOM in Bradenton late last summer (2015). My girlfriend and I both needed some work done and we cannot afford dental insurance. From the beginning, I should have known LECOM was not going to go as well as things did at the more reputable school in Indianapolis; they did everything they could at LECOM to suggest to me their students were not competent enough to treat me. Finally, they decided to go ahead and try, which seems noble, except they made it seem as though I were being accepted into some exclusive club.Early on, I explained to them that sometimes I will have a bad reaction to the anesthetic and might need oxygen. In the beginning, they told me they had an oxygen tank and that would be okay.Meanwhile, the student responsible for my girlfriend treated her so poorly my girlfriend ended up not going back for further appointments. For months and months and months I waited for some sort of treatment to actually begin. The first time they shot me full of the anesthetic, I had a bad reaction. They wanted to keep pumping me full of the drug they use. I told them that was not a good idea at the moment. I suggested they get me oxygen and the teacher in charge huffed out, suggesting I had just asked her to split an atom with a jackhammer. It was agreed they would have a specialist take care of this particular operation the next time I came to the school.Well, that next time was this last Monday. What they did instead was tell me that I was too much of a problem for them, that they werent going to waste their oxygen on me.How much time did I waste going to this shoddy school? And, of course, I still have a painful tooth that is keeping me awake at night.Avoid this place at all costs. If you cant afford dental insurance and you cant find another school to go to, I would recommend knocking your teeth out with a hammer. Im sure that will be a much more pleasant experience than dealing with these people.

On November 6th, 2017 my six year old daughter had an appointment at the Bradenton facility. My four children and I had already been attending the office for approximately one year. On the way out, my daughter walked to the back of the parking lot to see the statues. As I pulled my vehicle around to let her in and proceed home, the security guard walked over to my vehicle and began to get aggressive with me, insisting I could not park there. I explained how we had an appointment and my daughter just wanted to see the statues before we left. I was not parking there. He raised his voice at me and threatened to call the police. My reaction was to drive to the front of the parking lot and call inside and ask what company the security guard worked for so I could file a formal complaint. The secretary did not know, so I turned around and drove back to the security guard. When I asked him what company he worked for, he became even more aggressive. He rushed behind my car, took a picture of my license plate, told me he will find me and called the cops, explaining there was an irate woman on the premises. I fail to see how me questioning his employer equals to being irate. Ultimately the police arrived, laughed about the situation with the security guard and Dean (who refused to speak with me, regardless of my request for him to help resolve the issue at hand), and charged me with trespassing. On a day I had an appointment.Initially, I contacted human resources and was in contact with Aaron Susmarski. He seemed interested in resolving the problem and referred me to a woman named Amber. I had to contact Amber three times, whereupon the third time she became slightly rude and insisted that she reached out to me numerous times during November, stating my mailbox was full. However, phone records indicate that the only call she made was the one to confirm the situation. Nor is it possible in any way that my voicemail was full. When finally speaking to her, she refused to answer any of my questions and referred me to the legal team. Aaron also contacted me once again, but still refused to provide the information I requested. It is now almost March and I am still waiting for the information I requested back in November. The legal team has not reached out to me. I would like to know what company the security guard works for, what has been done to discipline his aggressive actions toward a mother and child, and why I was fingerprinted in front of my six year old daughter for trespassing on a day I had an appointment. The way I was treated is unacceptable and the stress and anxiety caused by this situation has affected the physical disabilities I already suffer from. The Dean of that school is a disgraceful human being for not even trying to help after his guard threatened us.*As of 3/29/18 I have been threatened with legal action if I contact them again asking for the information.

I have a terrible leak in my life. I never got the dental treatment that I should have received. I wanted one of the students to visually look at tooth number 14 for me. The security guard escorted me off the property. I just got the dental work done by an emergency dentist in Celebration, FL. She drove up in front of my aparrment and I went into her van. I had the x-rays during my appointment. I am a 30 year old Autistic lady who was denied services by Lecom Dental School.

Not having adequate dental insurance led me to Lecom. The facilities are modern and bright and the students and instructors are very friendly, However. I went in for an emergency extraction and I need dentures. The painful tooth was not removed because it could be saved In fact the 6 teeth that I have left were deemed healthy even though, the are cracked and painful. So they made up a treatment plan that included restorative work in order to get partials. The work was so out of my financial means I had to stop at $1500. I got a different tooth extracted and the tooth next to it was chipped during the process, also had a root canal that has left my tooth very sensitive. Truth is Im afraid to go back there and have been in pain for the past year.

I was given LECOMs phone # by the Social Service Coordinator at the Senior Apt. Complex I live in. The information sheet said LECOM was opening a Denture Course/School at their Dental School in Lakewood Ranch, FL in Jan. 2017.Myself and another resident here are both in need of a new upper denture. I am actually a CDT with an AS in Dental Technology, which was a 2 year course, then National accredidation, so I was a bit dismayed to hear I had to commit to every Tues. for 10 weeks in that courses Denture clinic with a Student if I wanted to get a single upper denture there. The other option I was told about after numerous transfers to get me to someone in their regular school Dentistry Clinic was to come for 3 appointments, for full panoramic xrays, a complete health and dental exam and to listen to their pitch in how they could better help me instead of dentures ( and certainly at a much higher cost). When I said neither if us had any remaining teeth and only wanted to repair or replace our current dentures, as we were on fixed incomes, I got the OH NO, we will not repair dentures that werent made here, but we could still come for the 3 appt.and up sell deal. They didnt even reply when I said But you havent had onsite labs in the past and wont until Jan. 2017.Sorry, but I know the business if Dentistry and Dental laboratories well enough to steer clear of this one. No one knew much about anything, or even how to find someone who did.
