Absolutely one of the nastiest receptionists I have ever spoken with. I inquired about possibly being a new patient, and before I can even finish my sentence she said “okay a doctor needs to refer you”. She didn’t even ask me if my doctor referred me, she just assumed because I was calling and not someone from my PCP. Also, no where on their website does it list that I need a referral so should they should make that known. Especially to young people, we don’t necessarily know how to go about this and need a little guidance. Her tone was disgusting, could not offer me any references, and did not greet me at all like “hi good morning how are you?” Just said “Carter Psychology” and I had to say oh like hello how are you but before I even could, she spoke over me. And reading the reviews - I’m not the first person to say that your receptionist is absolutely the most unpleasant person to speak to. In this line of work, you’re greeting people that are not in the best state of mind and need therapy, etc. and need to be hand held or given that extra oomph or go that extra mile to make them feel like they’ll be taken care of. Maybe try hiring someone who is more sensitive and people friendly. I’ve been looking for WEEKS for a good therapist or psychologist to do talk therapy with and I finally found someone here and was turned off in a matter of two seconds from the receptionist. You made someone who was finally ready and excited to actually see a professional and turned it off within the matter of literally a minute phone call. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Our child had a neuropsychological evaluation with Dr. Veronica Medina at Carter Psychology. She worked awesome with our kiddo. The evaluation was thorough, and the final write up gave us every recommendation and tool we needed to proceed. This included what accommodations and therapies our child needs at school, the types of therapy needed outside of school, and even books to read. She is also very responsive and easy to contact. Highly recommend Dr. Medina at Carter Psychology.

I cant say about the other psychologists, but I saw Dr. Christine A. Profito several years ago. She had no empathy. She told me one day that I was unattractive and thats why nobody cared about me. I never came back after that. I have dealt with low self esteem, body dysmorphia, and bulimia since I was a child (and she knew this). This remark caused me to spiral back into a restrictive eating disorder for several years afterwards. This woman should not be allowed to have this job. Frankly, its robbery that shes charging money for her trash therapy.

The billing staff are terrible. They will tell you there is no co-pay for a service then, bill you. I recieved a bill for $200 because they cant figure out the billing code for my insurance! Im all for paying for a service that I recieve but its expected for a business to be upfront about the cost. Talk about bad ethical business practices.

Finally a good child psychologist!!! I held off on writing this review for awhile to really make sure but Dr. Brendan MCCollum is such a great child psychologist and has done wonders for my older child! If youve been looking for someone for your kiddo, I highly recommend Dr McCollum!

Front desk staff not knowledgeable & unaccommodating. No one knows what’s going on or is “new.” You will not receive a timely call back, and if/when you do- they have no idea what to do. Don’t waste your time here folks...there are plenty of other places to go with people that actually want to help. This office is far from it.

Very poor customer service. Showed up 10 minutes late due to traffic and wouldn’t see me. Rescheduled and no one confirmed it and I have a business card saying it was the following Friday. Now won’t reschedule because I missed and appointment without paying a 75.00$ missed appointment fee. Place is a joke and a rip off. I just need my test results. No one use this place. Front desk people are all unfriendly and not helpful. I’m in the hospitality business and this is not how you should treat clients.

Unable to provide patients with regular weekly appointment times. Overbooked. They would call me weekly to try to fit me in because they didn’t have enough availability. Mental health needs continuity & this practice sadly could not provide that.
