What a great salon! Rob Smith is the one to go to. Ive recommended Rob to many friends and they seem to love their cuts by him. Hes honest and will tell you upfront what he believes is great for you. Im always satisfied after going to him. Would highly recommend him for cut or color!

I went there on a Monday not even realizing they were closed but the door was open. I was politely greeted even though I pretty much barges in on there day off. I asked if they had any available walkins a very nice lady which I believe was the manager offered to cut my hair. She was amazing super talented and great conversationalist. Defiantly the best haircut I’ve had in a while.Will for sure be returning for my next haircut. Thanks again guys for cutting my hair when you were closed!!

I recently had my hair cut and colored, by a wonderful stylist. Her name is Sandra. I will come back here again, and make an appointment with her. The color is perfect, and she really takes her time.

Like another reviewer I am new to the area and got a coupon for a free haircut. All I needed was a trim, seemed safe enough. The “stylist”, Alex, butchered my my hair with the first swipe. A year’s growth gone! I kept asking her what was she doing. She just kept laughing and cutting. In the salon’s defense they had another stylist try to fix it, but that was pretty much impossible. Ever time I look in the mirror I am reminded of the horrid experience with Alex at The Gallery Salon. I don’t know how long it will take for this mess to grow out but I know where I won’t be going in the future. Avoid this place! The coupon is definitely not worth the upset of looking in the mirror everyday crying.

Being fairly new to the Gallery Salon and Spa located at 5275 University Parkway in University Park, Fl, I must say that the staff from owners to stylist assistants are top notch. I personally owned a salon for 12 years and am now thankful for being a part of this amazing team!!!! We have had a positive change in management and Amber is AWESOME. There was a woman that graced me with her presence yet was a definite negative to the salon. Luckily for the future of the Gallery Salon, Beverly has been put to the Hills!!! Pay close attention to this warn my neighbors.I went to The Gallery Salon at University Parkway in Sarasota today and it was the worst experience I could imagine to have in a simple hair cut. It was a “daymare”!I earned a coupon that came by mail to my house in my surname for a free hair cut and decided to take a chance to know the place.I had a long straight hair and wanted to have some layers and shortened a little... The place “looks nice”, but unfortunately for me was terrible.The hair cutter (a blonde girl that I don’t know the name) started with the front and just made a straight short cut in my left hair side... then she saw what she did and she started shaking a lot. Dropped the hair dryer, cut her finger and there was her blood in my hair and even in my hand. She was extremely stressed out, repeating the mistakes over and over and it was only getting worst. So I asked her to be calm, more than an hour after, and to call someone in charge there. I showed my destroyed hair to the person and she only could feel sorry about it and offered me to return another day for someone else to try to fix the mess they did. My daughter is getting married in 4 days and I felt helpless. I’m just wondering if this girl that tried to cut my hair is licensed because cut someone else hair without it is not legal. I hope nobody else will be faced with this awful situation. Never accept a “free something” if you don’t know the professional.Then after all these problems, I went to Great Clips in Market Street and all the girls (hair cutters there) were horrified with my hair and offered me to try to fix a little because to fix properly I will have to wait for my hair to grow. One of the professionals there named Crista, made me feel calm again and made my hair looks much better. Chris is an excellent stylist. She knows exactly how to handle my crazy Irish cowlicks and make my hair look perfect. Oh, and the only time I have to wait is when I show up 20 minutes early. :-)

The salon is clean and the person (not saying names) who did my hair was nice HOWEVER. My hair cut is terrible. I asked for a slight trim to my short hair and it’s completly lopsided. One side is a good inch longer than the other in spots. The fact that I paid $65 for this cut and they said I’d have to pay again for them to fix it is a little crazy.... shouldn’t have to pay for a mess up. Very disappointed.

And when you show up she will act as if you are an idiot. What happened to customer service? And the way she treats her staff is criminal. Do NOT support this tyrant! She is evil!

This is a beautiful Salon----Domenic Rocco is the best hairdresser and a great guy who cares about his customers. His scissors are magic.

I had a coupon out of the coupon book and scheduled my appt online etc letting them know I had a coupon. When I went to pay................NO ONE knew of this coupon, not even the stylist whos picture and phone number was right by the coupon. I had only cut out the coupon part of the coupon,and they honored but I felt like I had cheated them! But come to find out I was correct.So make sure you bring in the whole coupon or maybe the stylist shouldnt print them if she doesnt remember.

The Gallery Salon doesnt care about families or employees. My experience there was horrible and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. The salon manager Beverly is a shady dishonest person and is really taking the place down.
