VEG was an amazing light during a very uncertain time. It was a very scary experience when our old pup, Emerson, went into heart failure, but VEG really made me feel like he was cared for and in good hands. Everyone who worked there was so nice and hospitable. Emerson was in their care for 2 nights and VEG allowed us to come see him whenever we could, answered our phone calls and plethora of questions, and were a great support when we weren’t sure if he was going to make it. Thankfully, they were able to stabilize Emerson’s breathing and send him home. VEG sent photo updates, and made us feel like Emerson was a priority, not just another patient- especially when their waiting room was packed with emergencies. I feel very grateful that we ended up in VEG’s care, especially Dr. Stewart. She was so amazing, a perfect balance between knowledgeable doctor and empathetic caregiver- we really trusted her. We are so grateful that Emerson ended up in her care, and he really seemed to love her too. We cannot give enough praises to her.Other staff members told us how they sat with him all night when he was anxious in his holding case, how they prayed for him, and how they tried a bunch of different foods until she found one that Emerson liked. We were actually visiting from California when we came in, and I wish we could bring VEG back with us - I’ve never experienced a more caring vet facility.

On June 10th I took our kitten Steven in to Veterinary Emergency Group. He was in respiratory distress. Both Steven and I were immediately brought back into the examination room where he was attended to right away. I was never away from my kitten. Tests were performed. Steven’s lungs were drained, and I was able to sit right next to him while he was in the oxygen cage. I was able to be with my animal for the entire visit, it was amazing. The staff at this clinic was caring, explained everything they were doing to help Steven, and though the diagnosis was not a great one, I was comfortable that my cat had received the best care available. So far Steven is doing very well. He is eating well, and his breathing has remained normal. Along with the recommended medications from the clinic, I have added some natural remedies and he is doing great. Hopefully this will have a happy ending.I cannot say enough good things about VEG. I will never go to a different emergency clinic; you treated us like family. Thank you for your compassion in a very difficult time. Thank you for taking such great care of my cat. ❤️

Ive used this vet twice for emergency situations with my English Bulldog and they are amazing! The first time was after Gia got spayed and she stopped breathing on the way home. I brought her in and they checked her out completely to make sure everything with the surgery was okay. (I did not get the surgery done here) and I felt much better after the full exam was completed by this place. The 2nd time was when Gia jumped on a gate and her nail almost ripped off and was barely hanging on and bleeding. Both times they were able to get her in right away and explained everything fully. They are so caring and the doctors are always willing to get on the phone and explain their process before doing anything which is really comforting in times where you are unable to go inside due to the pandemic. They are reasonably priced for being an emergency vet and I am glad they are right down the street from my home, especially in time of need. They are so sweet to the animals and they really do care about the pets and pet parents.

My dog Toby had some kind of weird reaction to a sting or a bite of some kind. He was behaving very strangely. I called VEG and advised them of the situation and from the first call to the end of the entire process they made me feel like they really cared. The receptionist came out to the car with me and helped me get into a room straight away. The doctors were kind and patient, even when I had to go back a second time an hour later. The check in and payment process was all done from my phone while waiting for the doctor. Totally seamless.I would definitely recommend Veterinary Emergency Group.

I was at a complete loss on Sunday, as my Veterinarian was closed, and my beloved Macaw, Siena, had a terrible reaction to a drug prescribed to her that weekend. Very few Emergency Clinics treat birds. Veterinary Emergency Group, although they were completely inundated with Emergencies, took my bird right away, no questions asked. Everyone there was so nice, patient, and professional. They also took wonderful care of my Siena, which gave me the time necessary, in the interim of scheduling with my Veterinarian the next day. Siena was able to come home with me by days end, as they got her feeling much better. Thank you so very much VEG, from the bottom of my heart. You are all truly a blessing!

My 1 year old Bichon, Dolly (as in Parton- not as in Hello) , came in very sick with a serious cough and was throwing up every two hours. Dr Chuck Kalb and his team took such amazing care of her. They administered medicines and vaccines and within 24 hours she was literally healed and back to normal. They explained exactly how they were going to treat her and how each medicine should help her symptoms. Then, the doctor himself called the next day to check in and see how she was doing. They did a GREAT job and will definitely bring her back should she ever get sick again!

Thank you so much to this facility. We woke up to our cat coughing and sounding like he was choking with labored breathing. At 3am i quickly googled an ER vet and found this. They promptly answered the phone and told us to come right away. The entire staff was extremely kind and quiet super focused on their job. Dr. Sarah Stewart is the best veterinarian Ive ever come in contact with. She knew what was going on with my cat right away and gave me an extremely difficult diagnosis with empathy and compassion.I seriously have tears in my eyes, this Doctor cares so much, its so obvious. We were able to bring our boy Skinny Cat home that morning and they called to check in on us for the next few days. I even called many times with questions and they were always so welcoming. Dr. Stewart put my cat on to medications and got us a quick visit in with a veterinary cardiologist. The cardiologist prescribed the exact same medication and dosage. She truly has what a veterinary ER needs. The love and compassion when us people and our pets are at our worst. To be met with someone so knowledgeable and empathetic and warm was unbelievably amazing to experience during a horrible night.I truly trust her judgment. I wish she could be our primary care vet but she is in a place that really needs someone like her.The rest of the staff, reception, veterinary technicians, all so kind and compassionate. They also helped me out financially providing me different options on how to provide the best care without going bankrupt.I hope to never return but if i have another emergency i will without a doubt return here. Also their base emergency visit is $110 which is am amazing price compared to even some regular veterinary visits. They will work with you here and help.Thank you again to Dr. Stewart and all if the staff here. ❤️ Skinny cat thanks you too. 🙏

It started with a stray cat having a very large litter of kittens on my patio. After a day, the mother had gone missing and I was left with newborn kittens. By the next morning I was frantic. The kittens were not making it. I called everywhere I could think of and no one would or could help. I called VEG at around 6:00 in the morning and told them the situation. By now I had only two surviving kittens that hadnt eaten in about 24 hours. They had me bring them in right away. They told me that if there is any way they can save them, that they would, and if not, they would be able to go peacefully. I was so grateful and thought my ordeal was over. The next morning, the mother had returned, in very bad shape. Once again I called VEG, and once again, they told me to come right in. I cannot express how grateful I am that they were there and willing to help me. They were so kind and understanding. They are honestly the only reason I was able to get through these past few days. I cannot thank them or recommend them enough.

I put one of my dogs down there and they were nothing but sweet and caring making sure it was okay. I brought my sick bird there when no other vet would take him even though it was an emergency. I didn’t know they took animals other than dogs and cats but they took him and did everything they could to try and save him. I brought my bearded dragon in today when the first vet that took him didn’t try even a little bit to care for my baby. They again took my pet in and did everything they could to help him! She was sent home with pain meds and a cone. We were up all night as she seemed to be in a lot of pain even though I gave her what was sent home with us. The next morning I called into work so I could spend the day with her and keep an eye on her. When I picked her up to go potty she dragged her back legs and walked in a circle and then just collapsed. I immediately got in my car and brought her back to VEG. I waited outside while they checked her out and withing minutes Dr. Howell was back outside to give me the grim news. She had literally overnight become paralyzed. She said this was unfortunately common in Chihuahuas and due to Sophies age, there was not much that could be done for her. I was devastated to say the least. She brought me inside so I could say goodbye and they let me sit with her for as long as I wanted before. Doctor explained how things would happen and then let me stay an hour or so holding my sweet Sophie after she was gone. A number of staff came in to tell me how sorry they were and to ask if I needed anything. The level of caring and compassion was wonderful. A life has been saved. VEG did the aftercare for Tyler. It’s been a week since his procedure of unblocking which was done at Delray Beach Animal Hospital and since he had spent 36 hours at VEG for his aftercare. VEG took good care of him and even played the music he likes to help keep him feeling at peace. Tyler isn’t easy. He’s a scared cat at vets but VEG did their best to make him feel at home. Tyler is now able to pee. Every day, the amount of urine increases which is such a blessing. Tyler’s life will continue. VEG partners with Delray BeachAnimal Hospital so prices were reduced due to that but honestly, if it’s an emergency just go straight to VEG. It’s easier on the pet and the prices are actually cheaper if it’s all done in one place. Tyler is now on special food and he is enjoying his regular activities like sunbathing and getting irritated at raccoons. I found the entire staff at VEG to be very patient people, investing greatly in the welfare of your pet. God bless you if you have to take your let for an emergency. I hope that this review helps the person who needs to read it.

We are investigators for animal equality. We received many complaints, regarding Veterinary Emergency Group. The complaints were not regarding the service the animals received, it is regarding the process of how an animal is going to be treated. Obviously, if someone is taking their pet, to an ER, there usually is something serious. We brought an animal that was thoroughly checked out, by a state, board licensed, Vetanarian. There was absolutely, nothing wrong with the animal. We then brought the animal to, Veterinary Emergency Group,(Boynton Beach Florida). We said that the animal was not itself, in the last few days. Not eating, drinking or behaving as usual. After 30 minutes, we were told that the animal needed several tests, and the cost to do the tests, would be over, $1100, not including other services, if needed. We informed, Veterinary Emergency Group, that the cost would be impossible to pay. We literally went through a pawn shop, back and forth, transaction, and ended up paying, not even a third of the original asking price. We met several other potential clients, while we waited for our perfectly healthy animal, to be treated, that were asked to pay a ridiculous fee as well. Conclusion:  The practice(s), regarding payment & service are unacceptable. Either way, they will treat your pet. They dont have a choice . This is marketing 101, on steroids.

Dahlia had her first litter on October 7th. I called the VEG the moment I saw green discharge coming out of her. I spoke to a receptionist and she was able to get Dr. Sanmarti who calmed my nerves immediately. He told me to give Dahlia a couple tums, that she was going into labor, to watch her and to call them back once she progressed. Well, this was around 9pm on Tuesday. On Wednesday, at 2:30 am, Dahlia went from being uncomfortable to pushing out her first pup. The next pup came at around 5am. The tums did amazing for her labor and contractions! Well around 8/9 am, Dahlia had stopped pushing and contracting. I had given her tums, but nothing. I called VEG back and spoke to a Dr. Rodgers who told me to give her a couple more tums, some more time, then to come in if nothing progressed. Around noon, I decided to take her in. I brought her to VEG, was immediately allowed to come back with my baby and her two pups. I was greeted by Dr. Rodgers who sat with me and I was able to sit with Dahlia while the she did an exam. She told me her plan, and another nurse explained the pricing. Dahlia had an ultrasound to show that there was a puppy, maybe two, but that the puppy had a semi-low HR. Dahlia got oxytocin. We waited. Nothing. The dr and nurses were constantly checking on us. We did another round oxytocin. Still nothing. Dr. Rodgers ordered bloodwork. Everything was normal so there was no need for calcium or IV electrolytes. By this point I was getting antsy. Dr. Rodgers did another ultrasound and told me that if the contractions didn’t progress, a csection would be needed. The nurses then brought Dahlia and I to a private room so she could relax and continue to nurse her two puppies. They even brought blankets for us. There was always someone checking on us. We were never left unattended. Dr. Rodgers came and informed me that Dahlia would need a csection as she had a concern for fetal distress the longer we waited. Another nurse came and explained it would be around $7k. Outrageous! I explained to Dr. Rodgers this wasn’t financially possible. By this time it had been 4-5 hours. I was more than exhausted, so was Dahlia and I just wanted to leave. I was packing up my dog and her puppies. Dr. Rodgers told me not to go and she went to see what she could do. I began calling around to other places to see who else could help. Dr. Rodgers came back and I kid you not, stopped me from just getting up and leaving. Even though the price was outrageous, we were able to work it out. I can’t thank Dr. Rodgers enough from stopping me from leaving! During our wait with finances, Dahlia was already being prepped for surgery. I was able to be by her side throughout the ENTIRE process!! This is a huge selling point for me! I was able to watch her csection performed. I was a nervous wreck. My toes were going numb and I could barely breathe. I tried my best to hold my composure. I watched my baby’s surgery like a hawk waiting to see the little ones still inside. One finally emerged, but she was lifeless. The doctor passed her to the nurses and told them to try to resuscitate the puppy. My toes and fingers felt even more numb and I held my breath in my throat. I watched two nurses go to work on the lifeless puppy. From needle maneuvers, thrusting techniques, sternal rubs, oxygen and a heated blanket. It was extremely difficult and you could tell everyone was on edge. These girls didn’t quit! Kaylee checked the pup’s HR, and still heard a heartbeat. They kept at it for over 20 minutes. We finally saw the puppy take a breath and the girls continued to work on her until she was breathing on her own.I can’t thank Dr. Rodgers enough for not allowing me to leave. Momma and her last pup wouldn’t have made it.Im not a fan of veterinarians, having bad experiences with so many over the years, so I choose to take care of my pets on my own. This place made it feel like home.Thank you Dr. Sanmarti, Dr. Rodgers,Alycia, Jackie, Sam G, Amanda, and I’m sure I’m forgetting a name or two. This group of people saved two lives that day.

The bad news is that I’ve had to visit this location 3 separate times for emergencies... The good news is that every single time, my dog was treated for her unexpected illnesses and injuries with compassionate care, and professionalism. I know I can always count on and rely on getting the best attention for my beloved baby with VEG. Thank you for all you do!

Also they updated us throughout the visit. Very fast also even though they were busy still only around 2 hours. The price good they will ask you what needs to be done and discuss what you want done. And work with you about the final bill. So all in all 5 stars.

My 8 year old golden retriever Millie ate a fully fermented dough just before going in the oven. We took her to the VEG group and they were so kind and patient and professional with Millie. She had to stay overnight to empty her stomach and be observed but she did very well with the excellent care from the staff and was released the next afternoon. VEG followed up the next day to check on Millie to make sure she was feeling better. I give them the highest ranking and would certainly go again with any emergency.

I would like to thank your emergency veterinary group for your kindness and thoughtfulness during one of the hardest moments of my life. I took a chance by going to you in the middle of the night when my dog wasn’t feeling well and you far surpassed my expectations. You treated my precious dog like she was one of your own. You spoke to me with kindness in your hearts as I was not sure what was even happening to her. You chose my dog’s well-being over making money and for that I am truly appreciative and grateful. I only wish that I knew about you when my dog was healthy. I know for sure I would have chosen your group as her veterinarian doctors. I highly recommend your Veterinarian group for anyone experiencing an emergency with their pet! Thank you for all you did to help my dog in her time of need.Susan Rich

I cant say enough about this wonderful emergency vet and the amazing staff of techs. and doctors. They were there for my family and pup when we needed it the most. They treated my pup expertly, giving her a few more good days before sadly, taking a turn for the worse. When the time came to make the heartbreaking decision to let her go, they were so compassionate and provided the clarity we needed. It was the most peaceful and respectful process. I could not have asked for a more humane goodbye. Thank you for what you all do but most importantly HOW you do your work!

The staff here was polite, informative, and timely in updating me on Lola’s status. She stayed overnight and was released back to us the next morning after they were able to monitor her post surgery. They were so compassionate and understood that she was scared and in a lot of pain. Dr. Novak took care of her mostly... Highly recommend!

Yesterday, I transferred my cat in in critical condition. I was unhappy with the care she had been receiving at her hospital and move her out quickly. I called VEG and spoke with Dr. Yacavone on the phone and I knew right away I felt safe her. When I arrived with Peeka, someone was waiting outside and move her in quickly. The team brought me to the back to try to help her. Every single nurse was so nice and comforting. Though my sweet baby did not make it, I could not have asked for a better staff to help me. Losing your first fur baby is the hardest thing ever and the staff here was so kind and comforting. Dr. Yacavone was compassionate and an amazing person. Thank you for trying.

Horrible is putting it nicely. My 9 year old shi tzu Bentley had been coughing & gagging. Took him in. At first, the vet seemed to care & ran test. The vet explained he had fuild in his lungs & needed oxygen. They place Bentley into an oxygen cage & he did start to breath a bit better. At this point, the bill is already @ $980. The vet than proceeds to tell me he needed to stay over night in the oxygen tank & his lungs would have to dry out on their own. It was going to cost $1k to $1500 a night w/ no guarantee. I went outside to catch my breath & call my vet Bentley has had for over 6 years. He told me to take Bentley home & to be @ his office at 8am. I told the vet I was taking Bentley home & she got upset & told me my dog was so sick he needed to be put down. She actually shut the oxygen off & would not release him for another 20 mins. She argued w/ me & told me he if I didn’t let him stay, he needed to be put to sleep that night. I got my dog out of there & he made it thru the nite. The next morning @ our vet, Bentley just needed to be put on medication lasik & blood pressure. He was in heart failure but my vet said no way he needed to be put down. Between changing his diet, the medication & the loving care of our vet, Bentley is doing amazing. No more coughing, haggling or fluid in his lungs. If I would have listen to the vet at this ER cause she was upset I refused to pay the ridiculous price just for oxygen and no meds, she wanted me to put our baby down. Do not take your pet here! Drive elsewhere!

We got Sofia from Big Dog Ranch back in December of 2020. She was the cutest little thing and although I wanted all the puppies to come home with me we (my boyfriend and I) had an instant bond with Sofia. Unfortunately unknown to us she came with some medical issues. One of them being her left shoulder. We had 3 incidents with her shoulder and every time we took our little fur baby to VEG. All the doctors I have dealt with (Dr. Alexis G. Dr. Moses and Dr. Sarah) were so kind loving and caring to my Sofia. All the vet techs were so nice as well. On the last visit it was recommended to see an orthopedic surgeon. We have an upcoming appointment. Any emergency issues I will be coming to VEG. If you have an emergency please take your fur baby to this hospital you wont be disappointed. Its a 24 hour operation so I have comfort in knowing if a medical emergency arises they will be there. Thank you VEG for all your care. 🥰😍❤❤

My French Bulldog Creature, is the absolute love & light of my life. On Friday April 16th around 9pm my neighbors dog broke through my fence & attacked my poor Creature. VEG was the only emergency vet that was open & answered first ring. They took care of my little man like he was one of their own! Every single person who worked there was comforting & compassionate & they made this distraught Mama feel at ease.Dr. Sarah Stewart is an absolute earth angel. She made me feel light years better about the surgery my pup was needing, she was so knowledgeable & all around wonderful. I came to pick him up at 2am & Dr. Stewart was such a ray of light, I couldn’t help but smile & laugh even in such an upsetting situation because of how awesome the entire night shift staff is. I 10/10 recommend them to anyone who has a fur baby emergency. They’ve stayed in touch with me throughout the entire day, checking on my sweet Creature, they’ve been completely assuring & they are helping keep an eye on my pup until I’m able to find a primary care vet. This is honestly one of the best, if not the best Team of Animal care specialists that I’ve ever met!

David was so kind and sympathetic when I called freaking out because my 17-year-old cat had what was probably a seizure. I brought him in, and the final decision was to let him go. I was able to hold him and make sure he felt loved as he drifted off to sleep. I am sorry I do not remember the Doctors name, but she was very kind and understanding as we discussed options. Of course, I would never want to be in that position again, but I am so grateful for the compassion they showed.

I had to use their services recently when one of my cats got very ill & collapsed. Every vet and tech / employee was very kind and caring. Very professional. Aslan had to stay in the hospital for 2 nights which was excruciating for me and very stressful for him because he was so scared. The techs there made his stay more bearable for both of us. They loved on him like he was their own. They and the vets did their best to make him feel safe. I was able to visit him twice a day. A special thank you to Lily, who went way over & above to be sure he ate something while she was working. They bonded & it made me feel much better about leaving him. I kept telling them I wish they had a regular practice during business hours as Id make them my regular vet. Of course, their prices are high, being an emergency clinic, but I would do anything for my babies. I highly recommend this hospital.

I cannot thank the doctors and the entire team at VEG in Boynton Beach enough. We brought our baby Louie, a15 year old dog, in on Memorial Day. It was very busy and our dog was severely dehydrated from being sick because we tried a new food. They told us if we had waited much longer he wouldn’t have made it through. He spent three nights there with an IV and tremendous care and he has bounced back. Dr. Laura de Amras attended to him most of the time we were there and she is amazing. The staff is so caring of not just your pet but of you too. They let us come in and stay with him any time of the day. I sat on the floor and held him for hours and finally after a few days he was able to stand up. We brought him home today and he’s doing really well. I have never seen a team of people work so well together. They do not stop for a second and stay completely focused on all of the animals that are there. I want to thank everyone of them for their care and kindness. To the owners of this ER you should be very proud of your staff as represent you better than you can even imagine. I hope I never have to go there again but If I did, I know I would be in good hands.

The primary goal of this establishment is to extract the maximum amount of money from your pocket. The medical attention to your pet is a serendipitous side effect. The same profit driven approach applied to human medicine is now available for your pets.I arrived with my 8 year old dog who was suffering from pain toward the rear end - abdominal pain. It was actually a back strain of some kind but I appreciate that dogs cant speak so its not that simple to diagnose.First thing I notice was the references to my baby girl by the receptionist who was probably genuinely concerned but it still fits with the notion of humanizing a pet in preparation for you paying a bill equivalent to a human visit to an emergency room. I noticed some literature through the window, reinforcing the idea that your pet IS FAMILY. There is nothing accidental about anything here - this is a very well run business where nothing is left to chance.Within a matter of minutes I have an email informing me that my estimated bill with be $1,100 and change. The final bill was actually $1,238 . If you can believe it, the payment form asked if I would like to make an additional donation. More mind games here - trying to act like a charity when they are a hardcore profit based enterprise.A battery of tests were immediately performed and this is where I have a problem. There is no question of, lets prioritize these tests and do them in order determining if we need to perform the next test based on the results of the prior test. When you are diagnosing a problem in any other domain, you will go step by step until you reach a conclusion. When each test is a source of profit, there is no incentive to economize. It is possible in my case that all of the tests were necessary ( but I doubt it ).My dogs life was not in danger. There was no hurry other than to separate me from my hard earned. This is what this business is about. Now it happens that I can afford to pay this bill but there was an elderly couple there who were clearly quite poor. A business like this is going to leave people like them in debt and real financial hardship.I imagine that this is the way things are these days and that most of the employees are well intentioned and probably not very well paid ( but on commission I dont doubt ). HOWEVER, be under no illusions. THEY WANT YOUR MONEY, AS MUCH OF IT AS THEY CAN GET OUT OF YOU. I recommend that you learn to monitor your pets vital signs and think before rocking up here unless you are very comfortable economically.

This place was recommended to us by a family member. Our family had a house fire and all of my three dogs were trapped inside. The firefighters managed to get them all out but they were not in the best condition at all. From the moment that you got to the ERs door the people there were ready to attend you right away and were extremely kind. For the care that my dogs needed I already knew it would be costly but the one thing that they told me was that the last thing I had to worry about was the money and that the most important thing that matters is their health. I 100% recommend this place to every animal owner! The doctors were on point with calling with any updates and answered every question I had. Unfortunately, one of my dogs didn’t make it since he was in the house inhaling the smoke the longest but I feel more at ease knowing he wasn’t alone for those few days he was in the Emergency Room. I know he was in good hands and had a lot of love from the nurses and doctors there. Every single person who I encountered helped me in so many ways not only financially but emotionally. They sent beautiful orchids and a loving card after his passing and just the fact that they thought about my family and gave their condolences shows proof they truly care for their patients. I was able to sleep a bit better knowing that even though my dogs spent days and nights at the ER that they were in good hands. For any pet owner who is looking for people who care more about your pet needs rather than your wallets I recommend this place and the experience I had with everyone was a 10/10. Thank you guys for the love and support you gave me and my family during this hard time in our lives. You all made it a little less bitter and I love you all so so much.. thank you for taking care of my Luca and my girls. I will forever be grateful to all of you ❤️.
