This place is so nice and very professional. Took my daughter today, and my daughter fell in love with the owner. Mrs. Shelly took her time and really gave me some recommendations on how to protect her hair. Im bad with hair so Im very thankful for meeting her. I plan to book myself appointment asap.

I LOVE this salon; I’ve been coming here since 2003. Santa is a great stylist and she is very friendly, professional and personable. They do a fantastic job coloring (my highlights are gorgeous) and they get me started very quickly. If I had to give one area of improvement, it would be that they “detangle” from the root which is a HUGE no-no on natural hair. When I told the shampoo girl she said, “I don’t have time” 🙄 Oh but there’s time for the comb to keep getting stuck as you struggle to rip through my hair??? ... Other than that, service is A+, even throughout the pandemic. The owner Shelley is cool too. I highly recommend this salon! (I’m natural, 4A/4B, mid-back length hair).

Even in the midst of a global pandemic my experience at Visions was nothing less than excellent. I was met with a temperature check at arrival followed by required frequent use of hand sanitizer. I have been going to Visions for over 15 years. So that alone tells you how satisfied I am with the service. I have had mutiple stylist (Perla, Santa, Kendri) do my hair during the absence of my primary stylist Shelly. Shelly through the years has provided the best cuts and colors I have ever seen. She has styled me through constant changes and good ideas to include: short relaxed styles, natutal short styles, color changes to include blonde and red, and the most amazing wig and track cuts I have ever seen. Shelly has a love and passion for hair and the ladies she serves!

Love love love SANTA! I went natural a couple of years ago. I have type 4C hair. It’s very coily. Let’s just say my hair requires a lot of detangling. Santa recommended products and showed me how to embrace my hair. My hair Is now soft, healthy, bouncy and behaving.

Horrible management. I got my hair done at this salon and everything was fine until it was time to pay. I inserted my card twice, the first time it said it didn’t go through and the second time it went through and I signed for the purchase. The teenager at the front desk responsible for all payments said that their computer still shows it didn’t go through and asked me swipe again! I checked my account and SHOWED her that it went through and I was not going to pay again. She called the owner who was not on scene and they both harassed me for several minutes passing the phone back and forth until I eventually walked out. The owner had the teenager follow me to my car and take a picture of my tag!!! I was not walking out in the tab....I showed that the payment went through and gave generous tips. This is not how you treat your customers!!! I will never go back!

I guess it was BET Night this past Wednesday, totally different vibe than the other times Ive gone. Had a most unpleasant convo with the owner (been coming here for over a year but never met her before) who admitted she was having a bad day...but I gotta thank her for her rudeness because she helped me figure out where else I can take my money.

I DESPERATELY NEEDED MY HAIR STEAMED BECAUSE IT WAS FEELING SUPER DRY. I WAS RUNNING LATE THAN MY ORIGINAL APPOINTMENT TIME AND THEY WERE STILL PATIENT WITH ME. MS. SHELLY WAS EXTREMELY FRIENDLY, CALMING, NURTURING. SHE TOOK THE TIME TO EDUCATE ME ON THE PRODUCTS SHE WAS USING, SHE DIDNT RUSH ME. ADDITIONALLY, SHE TOOK THE TIME TO SHARE WITH MY THE PRODUCTS SHE WOULD RECOMMEND FOR ME TO USE AND HOW TO CARE FOR MY HAIR IN BETWEEN APPOINTMENTS. HIGHLY RECOMMEND MS. SHELLY!!!AS OF 11/26TH- IDK WHO THE RECEPTIONIST IS....BUT SHE ISNT VERY WELCOMING. I FEEL BAD FOR THE OWNER BECAUSE I DONT THINK SHE IS AWARE OF THE VIBE/ ENERGY THE RECEPTIONIST BRINGS TO REPEAT CUSTOMERS. I DIDNT EVEN MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.

I had a great experience at Visions. I took my daughter (6 yo) and sister-in-law. We all received the dominican blow out - roller set on natural hair. They got trims and flat ironed - they both looked fabulous. I got a wonderful hair cut. They had a great process in tact to move each of us from one station to the next. I did not feel rushed at all - they took the time to make it right. I would highly recommend going there. Great prices and great service. Thank you Visions!

I have been going to this salon for years, the ONLY salon that I go to. Santa is excellent! The owner Shelly is Awesome! My hair is natural, no perm, and because of this salon my hair is long and healthy. My wedding, babyshower, anything this is my go to salon.

My beautiful 4a/4b hair is completely ruined thanks to visions hair studio. I went in with thick, full, voluminous 2 Years natural virgin hair (with some heat damage in the middle and on one side to keep it honest). I left with paper thin, bone straight, limp hair with no life. This was a month ago, now my hair is a type 3 loose curl type of hair at the roots and bone straight relaxed looking hair at the ends. I’m two washes in and I have no hope. When I blow dry my hair it looks like a grown out perm, which is the exact thing I was trying to get away from when I removed relaxers from my life. Two years down the drain. Only go if you want your hair to basically die.

I had an appointment at 12. Was 15 mins early. Got my hair shampooed, wrapped and sat under the dryer. Everything was going good until my hair stylist starting not only getting her hair shampooed but trimmed and rolled. My dryer went off twice and I still sit waiting for her to finish getting her hair done. This is very professional and although I like how she does my hair, i do not think I will be returning. She could have gotten her hair done after she was finished with her appointment.

I have been going to Visions for eight years. I highly recommend Visions, they are reasonably priced. Customer service is amazing and the do not fry your hair. If youre in the Bowie area come and check them out you will not regret it!

I’m natural and I went here recently to get my hair straightened for a bday dinner. The woman who washed my hair called it NAPPY as she detangled with a fine black tooth comb (FIRST MISTAKE). I ended up fussing until she used a wider tooth comb and sectioned my hair to detangle. Then I noticed she was combing from the root down (SECOND MISTAKE). By the time she detangle everything, so much of my hair was pulled out that she was hiding the breakage in the comb she used.What makes it worse is not only was she ignorant on how to handle natural hair, but they ended up up-charging me for being natural. Also was gossiping in Spanish with the other hairdressers in the shop about my hair, as if I’m not partially fluent in Spanish!The only positive is Kendri knows how to straighten your hair without hurting/burning your scalp - a rare commodity in Dominican salons. Must be why she’s overbooked with walk-ins and you end up sitting there for 6 hours to get your hair done. I got in at 10 am that day and left at 3:30.My advise - if you want a good blow out/straighten and you’re a naturalista, make sure you go to someone who specializes in natural hair. Otherwise you’ll get this treatment.

So this was my first time and I went to get my hair shampooed and blow dried and curled in March 2019 so Santa did my hair and I loved it but about 2/3 days later my hair had a awful smell to it I thought something was spoiled or poop so I asked my co worker to smell my hair and she said it smelt like perm 😳😳😩😩😩 so I went To get it washed again at another salon and we could still smell it so I went Home thinking to myself ok it will go away ohh no it won’t so then I went to get it washed again and the stylist informed me that I had heat damage to my hair and that some kind of chemical was used on my hair as well so now when I wash My hair it burns a little and my scalp is always red so idk what they did to my hair be I’ve been natural for over 6years I’m very disappointed 😔 and confused as to what happened and someone else told me that they put chemicals in their shampoos and things so I will never go back to them again bad service 😭😭😭 hopefully my hair goes back to how it is supposed to be because I need My hair and scalp back normal because some of my hair has fallen out as well this is ridiculous I’m never going back EVER!!!!!!!

Visions has been taking care of my hair for over 10 years. I absolutely love them...if your looking for a place to love on your hair (natural or permed) come to Visions!!

I went to this salon for the first time today and got a wash and blowout. I had removed my sew in earlier that day and wanted something presentable for the time being. The wash was very uncomfortable. It was as if she were digging her nails in my scalp and removing the dirt herself. After washing, apparently my hair got super tangled and she said if she were to de tangle it itd be $10 extra, if I were to do it itd be free.. All I was thinkin was.. My hair wasnt tangled before I came in here, isnt this YOUR job? Fast forward to styling. After being under the dryer forever, she then blew out and straightened my hair using entirely too much heat. Two stars because my hair was indeed blown out.

This is the worse salon. They are highly disorganized. The customer service is atrocious. No one even bothers to greet you or say hello. The shampoo girls dont want to work and argue over whos stuck washing your hair. The hair stylistsonly know how to fry your hair at the highest heat. They know nothing about hair care. There really needs to be a manager or owner on site at all times in order to make this disastrous place function at least to a mediocre level.

The owner is SO RUDE and has absolutely no customer service skills. I went in to get a simple color change. From blonde, to black. The lady who colored my hair just threw the dye all over my hair like it was shampoo! If youve ever had a professional do your color, they ALWAYS part ur hair in sections, and brush the color in with a coloring brush. They did not do that! After I got home I noticed some blonde streaks STILL in my hair! And more brown/blonde as the days went by. I called and requested to speak with the owner and after the call, the receptionist started texting my phone WITHOUT my permission! The owner NEVER called me back! I called back three weeks later and spoke with the OWNER; after explaining, she had an attitude and said So what do you want me to do about that? She was so unprofessional! REAL Professional salons, when they make a mistake or the client is not pleased, they try to do everything to make it right! Not ask what do u want me to do about it I was so turned off that I dont even want to go in to show her anything! Its people like this that make it hard to support black owned businesses. THIEVES!!!
