Wonderful!Not quite as much variety as the flagship store in Denver, but they have a good selection and a pretty good garage sale section. The staff are always quite helpful, especially Emma over in footwear. She gave me a ton of advice in choosing a new trail runner after I wore through the sides of my old ones.REIs prices are always a bit higher than other places but they have great care for their members and a great return policy.

Great store, the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. Someone different checked on us at every area and made sure we knew where everything was. Were staying at the Embassy next door and got bored inside so we built a snowman outside today to welcome you guys back in the morning after the snow storm!

REI is pretty good overall. But their recent policy changes on warranty an returns definitely makes it less desirable to shop there than it used to be. Also if you are really into your sport such as climbing or biking you will usually find better gear at a local shop.

Shout out to Ryder for an awesome customer service experience with curbside. He was very helpful with a return of mine as well. Always such friendly and helpful employees at this REI.

I could have bought these online for $120, but I bought them at this REI for $150 because it was my first time buying this specific shoe and I like how REI normally takes care of loyal customers in case it ends up being a bad shoe. I hiked in these shoes no more than 10 times in the Colorado mountains and they are already falling apart. They have a soft foam which is disintegrating underneath of the rubber. Now I’m tripping on rocks because the rubber is loose and it catches everything. I’ve spent thousands of dollars in REI and never returned anything, but I was hopeful that they would help with this situation, I was wrong. Being told that there is nothing that that they would do was very disappointing with how much I buy overpriced gear at REI because of their warranties. After talking to friends, Scheels is more customer friendly, so they will get my business from now on.

We just stopped in to get my wife (and ultimately the rest of us) fitted for some new hiking boots, and while the experience started off kind of terrible due to some less than stellar customer service in the shoe department, Kristina came along and completely changed the experience for us!Kristina is very knowledgeable, super friendly, and incredibly helpful!!! Look, I LOVE REI, but I just watched this particular location turn away someones perfectly well-behaved golden at the door. Rudely, at that. Ive ☆never☆ seen an REI turn away a dog, including my own obnoxious hound. Unacceptable.

Great store and staff. However, PLEASE be careful with bikes in and around the store parking lot. My full suspension mountain bike was recently cut from my cars bike rack as I was shopping. I was informed that this isnt the first time. Thieves have eyes on this lot. Triple lock your stuff.

The staff here are so patient, knowledgeable, and professional, I have never walked out dissatisfied. They are working hard to keep the store safe and clean while maintaining a sense of fun! They you!!

Pretty good. But their shoe department workers seem overwhelmed. Also being Boulder I expected better selection. Every pair of socks seems to be around $20 here. They had signs in shoe department saying everyone needed to be patient because people were going outside for for pandemic, so don’t think I am first to complain. It was very easy to get a large backpack for a 14’er overnighted though. Line for cashier was 29 minutes.

Its a small REI with limited stock, but great selection of books on Colorado, and most of the basics are there if your replacing something.

Have never had anything less than a great experience at REI! The employees are friendly, knowledgeable and love to help in anyway they can. I recently purchased some ski boots and Mike in the ski area spent over an hour with me making sure they were the right fit as well as teaching me and answering all of my questions. I love REI - definitely recommend for any outdoor industry needs!

Good place, you can find anything you might need for your camping needs. The guy at the front was so helpful to help me find a nice product that fit my needs, he had a lot of patient and explained me all the differences with other products. Is not pretty easy to find places like this one.

Rented Mountain Bike from here and very good service. Since I was visiting out of town and didnt have bike rack, they agreed to store my rented bike overnight too.

I have been an REI member for more than 25 years. Since there are few alternatives in Boulder, we have to make do with this REI store. The REI flagship store downtown Denver is a good point of reference. Excellent customer service and very professional. Improvements regarding how customer service is carried out at this location in Boulder are needed. Some staff in Boulder probably wished they were outdoors instead of selling outdoor gear. Strange attitude. There are of course variations within the staff. I have bought outdoor gear on 6 continents.

Haley at the Boulder location went out of her way! Great customer service! Clean, well organized and plenty of staff made for a super shopping experience.

I was able to find just what I was looking for in a three-in-one jacket. Customer service is very good. It also helped that there was a cash back offer from Google Pay for REI.

Had a gnarly gash in my board, did a major repair and full tuning. Very pleased with the outcome. Would recommend for ski/board repairs! Members get a discount

Refused to change my tube saying my tire was old. Then tried to sell me a $50 replacement tire. Went to another rei and they changed the tube no questions asked.

Real nice REI. Havent really had a bad experience at an REI, but there this store in particular was a good store. A lot of items were in stock and the store crew was truly knowledeable about several in depth questions that one might know only if they personally used the products themselves, which goes a long way. They were honest regarding any item defects concerns I had asked about, and nobody was bugging me asking if I need help all over, yet someone was always quick to find if I had any questions at all. I noticed a pretty good dedicated snow/ski team, that was another factor that made this store stand out. Not the largest REI, but definiately a great one.

Ordered a power station online for delivery to boulder rei. Waited 4 business days for it to arrive. Extended my trip in boulder for 2 days, exclusively for this item.Received an email that the item had arrived. Great! Got to the store and they told me that they were shipped the wrong item and that I would have to wait at least 2 more days. So not once, in your whole logistics chain, did someone verify that the item matched the one that was ordered?I just ordered >20 packages off of Amazon and guess how many were wrong?0.I like to support rei, but my perspective has soured significantly.

I bought a pair of boots that were great for a few months now they are falling apart I have glued them multiple times. I was lied to when I bought them and was told they were falling apart do to normal wear and tear and was not elegable for replacement

Hurts to write this, because they are usually great. Spent $130 to get two skis ready for the season. Waxed and edges price is on point.Came to pick them up and wax/edges were fine. They ended up finding a crack in one of my binding so “had” to set my din to the lowest setting and send me on my way. I can obviously set my din to what I need but I wouldn’t have spent the money on wax/edges if they had realized this when I dropped them off

Ive shopped at REIs in various places a long time, but the womens section in this store is disappointing. Theres more athleisure, yoga and casual clothes and many fewer technical options than the mens side. My partner frequently finds items that have no complement on the womens side from brands including Patagonia, Arcteryx, and Smartwool most recently. I end up having to order something or buy elsewhere. Frustrating.

I have been here numerous times over the years and I enjoy walking around and talking with the employees, but today topped it! I really enjoyed talking with Tay, in the backpacks. She helped me narrow my search down to two different packs all the while talking about our adventures and it was really genuine. We need more Tays!

Needed a new pair of hiking shoes. REI has a wide variety and luckily sale prices. The sales person was very helpful and informative. Very happy!

The bike shop including Brett and Jeremy and the store manager Karen were wonderful to work with. I had an exceptional situation that required a lot of attention and understanding. It was a long journey to find the right solution to my problem and the team was great at hanging in there with me. It was such an individualized experience and the service could not have been better. Thank you for helping me, REI is the best and the employees are even better.

Loved the proper social distancing and mask requirements and one-in-one-out requirements they’ve put in place. In terms of being a “Flagship Store”...there are zero equipment displays; you have to set up every tent and chair you want to try out yourself (unlike their flagship store in Seattle). They were also out of propane tanks and water storage containers. Their selection of freeze dried meals was pretty small (only half the mountain house range of food).

Getting into the parking lot can be a little tricky at this busy Boulder location but once you open the door a greeter points you in the right direction.

The employees are friendly, knowledgeable and it was a great experience!

Always a great experience

Even in the post covid world, this REI is organized, clean, and providing fantastic service. They have less inventory than the Denver flagship downtown, but its still worth a visit if you enjoy the types of products they sell. One thing in particular that I appreciate is that they are allowing in-store shopping which the downtown Denver still is not. The staff was friendly and helpful, dont be afraid to ask questions!

I had one of the best customer service experiences at REI Boulder. There was a warranty issue with a carbon Cannondale that I purchased, both Karen & Brett took care of the issue and ordered me in a brand new bike. Brett additionally went the extra mile and hand built the new bike to make sure it had zero problems. Thank you Brett & Karen, your management and customer service is second to none!

REI are doing a fantastic job keeping the store safe. Limited entry, six foot spacing in the outside line, hand sanitizer and masks available, six foot spacing for checking out. Personnel are monitoring the lines. A very pleasant experience. Well done REI.

My wife and I recently went to the the REI in Boulder as we were looking to purchase a new bicycle for commuting and dirt trails.Allison L. was the associate that assisted us, and she helped us out to find an appropriate bike and even make sure the fit was good for me on the in-store trainer. She was very patient and we had her attention the whole time. Her and her associates even gave us tips and tricks on using and maintaining the bike while we were checking out.Of the REIs that we have been to, this location stood out for the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff - hence why I am leaving this review.

This is a fantastic store. It has almost everything you need for you next outdoor adventure. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

REÍ Boulder has social distancing requirements plus masks required for those over 2. No additional signage so your children will stand outside in the heat to then be told they must wear a mask at age 3. If you don’t have one they will give you an adult sized mask for your toddler. If it doesn’t work or your child won’t keep it on they ask you to leave. This is not the state requirement. Please take note so you are not turned away with small children in tow.

Took a moment to find the everyday commuter/student bags set aside from hiking packs, but once found plenty of options and sizes to make a choice.

I’ve been an REI member for years and years and bought all my climbing (shoes, rack, rope, draws etc) and hiking gear here. When I asked the older woman working here if I could use my REI credit card that I had a picture of (since I’d left it at home) she told me “no” which is reasonable but then gave me such a hard time when I tried to give her my REI number. She kept asking me “is that the real number?” And when I said yes she wouldn’t put it in until I looked pleadingly for help from another employee. Lost me as a customer and I’m bummed because I loved REI!

Have always had good experiences at REI.Today I was in to buy new ski boots as I thought I had grown out of mine after two pregnancies. Jenny measured my foot, took my boots apart, showed me how to strap them up and concluded I didnt need new boots after all. I was so grateful for her expertise and patience, even as it did not end in a sale for her. Another great REI experience- fortunate to have this store and great staff like Jenny close.

Huge thanks to Adam, Joel, and one other associate whose name I did not catch. Really appreciate you guys taking the time and effort to make sure myself and a couple other groups of customers got the best fit possible for our rental equipment.Especially since y’all stayed after closing time on a Friday night. I love this location! I have been getting my snowboard serviced here and the staff is always happy to offer up recommendations with me, even about local snowboarding resorts and hikes! Someone is always around to answer my questions about gear and Im so thankful.

Ive had many positive experiences at the Boulder REI. One sales associate worked very quickly and competently to resolve a complicated return last month. Ive also had excellent help in the shoe department while picking out running shoes and hiking boots. Even though this location is often quite busy, they are well-staffed, friendly, and efficient.
