The absolute worst you can get. Such an awful company. The deductible and out of pocket max status online is in accurate, you have to call their support line, then they have to email someone else who will call you back a week later just to let you know how close you are to your deductibles. The automated voice system is designed to make it as hard as possible to speak to a real person. I need a specialty medication to survive, they just stopped covering those without notifying ANYONE. Thats $5.6k they want me to pay every month for 2 doses. Unreal. If you like spending money and being on hold for hours each day get molina! Hot garbage.

My children are recently enrolled with Molina and there is no way to get a hold of anyone with this company. All I want to do is figure out and change their provider so I can get their appointments scheduled. I havent even received their member cards yet and their coverage already started so I have no info. Ive called multiple numbers and I got hung up on multiple times. It seems that they are insufficient with answering a phone (picked up line and background noise with no one responding as well as choppy service). I also keep getting transferred to the wrong departments when I clearly followed the prompt and asked to be transferred to member services. Im super frustrated and want to switch insurance companies already!! Terrible means on communication. It should not be this difficult!

I never resort to a one star rating unless I really have to. There is absolutely ZERO person to reach. They mistakenly terminated coverage for my WHOLE family all of a sudden. The only way we found out was when we actually need the medication and go for a refill and then got a message that our insurance is terminated. This is the second time it happens and there is NO HELP offered from the Molina Customer Service. Continuously made “on hold” and dropped my calls after waiting for them for 2 hours, and this happened repeatedly!! I’m switching as soon as I can, and you should AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Horrible ins. Because of my age (25) they refused to give me more than a 1 week supply of pain meds at a time (20 told to take 3-4 times a day) and then telling me that it has to last 30 days after an extremely major and painful surgery. Definitely wouldn’t recommend getting Molina to anyone around my age unless they really want to suffer.

Whats the point of paying for insurance if you have to fight them for every medicationMy issues are way more important to get resolved quickly than self inflicted diabetics that we have to pay for (referring to type 2, you did that to yourselves; I was born with my health condition).I requested my med to be filled a week before and now 2 days before Im supposed to take it or even have it delivered, the prior authorization suddenly isnt valid I always order early enough but this is ridiculous. Choose LifeWise instead. I had to deal with them way less between having to see my doctors less and talking to them to get what I need plus they count copay cards towards your OOPM and deductible, which means you get 100% covered meds and services faster.

Not surprised by the reviews and know now that I’m not the only one.I’ve been trying to get coverage for a month now and I’ve been out of my asthma medication which helps me breathe every single day. I have had Molina Medicaid since April 2020 and in all that time they have stonewalled my every attempt to seek reimbursement for life-saving mental health services I have had to pay for out of pocket — on an unemployment salary no less. I have lost count of the number of customer service reps, supposed insurance specialists, and case managers who have all given me inconsistent information or promised results only to throw my faxes, emails, and snail mail documents in the trash. That is, if we even got that far — my calls would frequently be dropped in the middle of conversations and no one would call me back even though I always gave them a callback number at THEIR request. I have been transferred to out of state call centers, been prompted over and over for the same information, and had complaints filed in my name without my requesting them. I am a patient person but over a year fighting for continuity in medically necessary care is unacceptable by any standard. I have sympathy for the unfortunate souls who have to take calls for them all day, it isnt their fault their employer is so callously indifferent to suffering. I am appalled at this company, that they claim to care for their patients health is a tragic joke.

Worlds Worst Phone Support. Most of the time, when I get through to a representative, they hang up on me. When they dont hang up on me, they abruptly transfer me to a branch of the company that isnt able to pull up my info and cant help me, forcing me to call back. This all started when I got a call saying Molina couldnt cover anything for me because according to them I still had insurance through my previous provider (though my coverage ended with them 10 months ago). I was told to contact my previous insurer and have them email/fax a letter confirming that my insurance with them had in fact ended. So I do that. I then call back the next day to confirm if they got this, and after several more hang-ups and improper transfers I get to a representative that tells me that, no, sending the letter confirming my termination of benefits wasnt what I needed to do, I needed to call Washington Health Plan Finder and have them update my 834 file. So I call them. And theyd never heard of an 834 file, but they resent confirmation that I had benefits through Molina anyhow. So I call back, get hung up on again, and then finally, FINALLY, get to a representative that informs me that they got the letter and that I have insurance through them.I spent 4 hours over the last 2 days getting this sorted out, the vast majority of which was going through the automated phone system for Molina over and over and over again, and then sitting on hold after being transferred to the wrong department several times.

The Molina Subscriber website is a steaming pile of waste. It appears to have been designed in the 90’s and never updated. The Subscriber site is terribly, frustratingly, horribly, irritatingly SLOW. It generally takes between 11 and 16 seconds to load a selection when clicking between their navigation elements. I would say, well that might be ok if I lived in a rural area, however, I live in a major metropolitan area and my internet speed is 115 mbps. They waste precious speed on providing a date and time clock with a second ticker! Who needs that when we all have a task bar.I would prefer to call the subscriber support telephone number to speak with a real person however I find it near impossible to get past the automated computer without being Hung Up on / Disconnected. This is outrageous. At this time in technological development, I should be able to log into my Molina subscriber profile and Easily find and update my address or telephone number. The user profile section is so small and poorly designed I barely found it. I should also have an option to Live Chat with a representative if I need assistance. Most companies in 2021 provide bot services that will connect to a live person once past bot abilities. Molina does not.The site employs absolutely NO Responsive Design, it’s a waste to try and use this service from my cell phone. For instance, if I’m at my doctor’s office and need to check on an eligibility. For some reason, their Auto pay system doesn’t carry over from year to year if you stay with the same plan. They will change your primary care physician without your consent. Instead of using confirmation pages with continuous navigation they use annoying Alert message.Oh, and if your try to leave them a message in their contact form, if you fill out the text field before selecting a reason, the logic in their programing will erase the message you took time, effort, and energy out of your day to describe. The logic on this site is outdated and rubbish. I pray for the sanity of anyone who has no other choice but to have a Molina health care plan.More Adventures with Molina Websitte...Today I used the Molina “find a provider” search to look for a Behavioral Health provider. The first three providers whos listed telephone number I called turned out to be fax machines. The next provider I called, sounded to be someones personal family telephone number from the answering machine message. The fifth provider I called turned out to be part of a musculoskeletal rehabilitation group. I am now giving up on the website to help find a provider. Either the information they have is out of date or the programed functions are calling the wrong information from their database of providers. Some day soon I hope they can fix this problem.

Im a new member and I chose Molina thru the Washington Health Exchange because of its affordability (I dont have major medical issues, knock on wood) but Im beginning to regret that decision. As a new member, I registered on MyMolina portal for patients so I can choose my PCP. Well, the website is one of the worst Ive ever visited (and I do website testing for a living)!First of all, the site has a delayed response to any actions taken (e.g. clicks), and once it recognizes the input, it takes forever to render the new page (including logging into your account). Furthermore, other than Make a Payment (which works smoothly), none of the other functionalities seem to work (e.g. Find a Doctor). The page takes forever to render, then returns a blank page after several minutes, yes, MINUTES!Ive now been on the phone for 2 hours trying to get the information I cant get from the website. It took about 10 minutes to answer a series of automated questions about my account, and then a 90 minute wait to speak to a representative (hello, how about a call back feature?). The Rep then asked me the same automated questions from earlier before answering any questions. After I explained to her the website issues, she agreed to transfer me to a supervisor. Im now waiting close to 30 minutes to be connected with a supervisor. Now, what if I need a life-saving medication urgently but cant get a refill from a PCP because Molina Healthcare cant/wont provide that information in a timely manner? I suspect mine is not an isolated incidence but a common occurrences so I want to warn all would be customers NOT to do business with Molina if you value your life.EDIT: Ive already emailed Molina TWICE in the past two weeks and gotten no response at all. I dont give out bad reviews unless I have no recourse left. If you truly care, youd go find my emails and call me ASAP to remediate, NOT asking me to contact you thru your faulty comm system.

Even when there has been miscommunication theyre always right on it going the extra mile. I havent had service like this in years! Im grateful for all they do.

If we are trusting doctors to approve test and imaging request, can you guys get doctors who actually read the notes. I just got denied by David Harris because he THINKS Im getting the test again but I never had it done so it was a renewal. I have to wait weeks and weeks to find out if something is wrong with my heart because your doctor cant do his job

I have gotten just about the worst healthcare from Molina, that is even possible to imagine. It is finally at the point I am saving money to file a civil tort action against them for a great many of the problems Ive seen in the 65 reviews I read. Rather then fill pages of all the issues they have created, I just noticed that in nearly all negative reviews contacting member services has proven to be nearly impossible for many people. Here is a trick that worked for me just a few minutes ago. I called the number on the search results, and of course got over 5 minutes of repetitive information about items no thinking person would ever call them for and when it went to the please listen carefully because our menu options have recently changed recording, rather than attempt any extensions after the 1st non-response, when it got to the message to either give them my Molina card # (which was the entire reason for the initiating call) OR give them the last 4 of my social security number. (Just the last 4 gives ID thieves far more info than most are even aware of. At that point I simply kept hitting multiple 000000000000s until it gave the this call may be monitored or recorded...message. Within 3 minutes I was talking with a member services person. Again they wanted either my Molina number or the last 4. I told them my name, address, and birthdate, letting them know they can look up my account with that info instead. They did, so I was able to order a new card (for the 5th time) but also had them give it to me verbally, and after writing it, read it back to confirm. I already know out front they are going to deny deny deny, so it is just more fuel for the tort action. Think about this: with the length of time it takes to GET any specialist referral/appointments regardless of the severity of what is being tested for, then having those tests/specialists denied and having to wait up to another year, every single one of those patients IF THEY ARE DEAD OR INOPERABLE by the time such procedures ARE fought through, THOSE patients pose no further cost to Molinas financial bottom line, nor can they complain, hire attorneys, and/or file civil tort actions. And believe me, their actuarial accounting experts as with ALL insurers know this to a depth we cant imagine! So fight, dont give up in frustration or confusion, fight for you and your children! I hope this helps someone. Vinny S

I have been trying for over a month to get a refund issue resolved but for some convenient reason, whenever I bring this up, the call drops or they transfer me to someone else and feed me outright lies. I am FED UP and I want my damn money back. NEVER get Molina. Avoid them at all costs. They just steal your money and lie to you.

I signed my son up for Molina after he was born not realizing what a shoddy company this is. His premium is 305.59. I paid his premium in May for his insurance to start on 6/1/19. Later I find out that the start date has been moved to 7/1/19, so we went a month without insurance unknowingly. At the end of June they left me voice messages saying his premiums weren’t paid and that his insurance wouldn’t start. The 1st call back they told me that I have to pay two months in advance. The 2nd call they told me that I needed to pay for my insurance with them if I wanted his to start. I wasn’t purchasing insurance for myself. They told me that I would have to talk to the exchange and fix it or else they were going to cover me as well. The exchange knew nothing about this and confirmed that I wasn’t listed on the policy. After fighting Molina they applied the 2nd payment they forced me to make to my sons account as a credit for August.I set up a bill pay to mail his premiums in. I accidentally mixed up the last two digits on the account number so they cashed my payment and applied it to someone else. They then sent me a late reminder bill saying that I owe them $600. (The premium is only $305). The woman on the phone told me that she would put in a support ticket but that it would take 10 days to process and that if I didn’t make another payment they would cancel my insurance. I spoke to her supervisor who said she would need all of my banking information faxed as proof that I paid. I requested email, which she refused stating that it’s against HIPPA law to send proof of payment via email. (I checked, it’s not, and in fact they are required to provide alternative means of communication). She laughed at me on the phone and told me that I could contact a lawyer if I wanted my money back. She then transferred me to the medications department because I was trying to make a second payment so my infant doesn’t loose coverage. He told me that I should just give Molina access to my bank account so they can remove funds on their own. If I can’t trust them to handle my payment appropriately what makes them think I’m going to give them full access to my bank account????Luckily my bank is disputing the stolen premium payment.Molina is a horrid company who does not care for their customers. Trust the reviews and use a different company!!!

I could write a novel on my horrific experiences with this fraud of an insurance company. Ive been a member of Molina Healthcare for years. Ive also been diagnosed with Crohns Disease. For years I had been taking a low-grade opiate called Tramadol for my pain, and everything was fine, save for a very occasional flare. At the beginning of this year I was cut off completely, cold turkey, from this medication. No one informed me I was going to be losing it, I didnt become aware until, out of said medication, I was standing in front of my pharmacist expecting my next refill. Now, I understand that this last year has seen a crackdown on opiate prescriptions. I understand the reasoning behind this. What I dont understand is how Molina has somehow come to the conclusion that this means that people who were genuinely receiving relief, relief needed to live their lives, suddenly dont need it anymore.I was forced through the full gauntlet of withdrawal symptoms. Molina wouldnt allow anything to help, Molina wouldnt allow any other pain medications, and worst of all, Molina employees lied to me for months about the situation. It got to the point at which I couldnt spend any more time fighting them, so I decided to just try... not being medicated. That did not work - you cant wish chronic pain away, though I imagine thats about the level of understanding the people making these decisions at Molina have. Eventually, I was able to, after a literal month of battling with Molina, every single day, get them to agree I needed the medication, and for a month I was myself again.Until I ran out of that particular refill, and was cut off, cold turkey. Ive gone through the process described above three times, and Im currently working through my fourth, this year alone. That means Molina healthcare, without a word to me, has cut me off of a medication which is dangerous to stop cold turkey three times this year. That means Molina forced me through the full gambit of withdrawals THREE TIMES, in this year alone. I had to quit my job. My life has been reduced to a smoldering heap of what it once was. Since this occurred originally Ive lost sixty pounds that I did not need to lose. Im in a stupor, daily, because Im not able to get more than a few minutes sleep at a time. My breathing has become ragged, my eyesight has gone blurry, my heart is constantly racing - and not to mention the literally crippling pain from my Crohns which I feel every second of every day.Today, I was informed that Molina is now refusing me the medication which helps me sleep at night. That was the straw that broke the camels back. I called in to Molina and calmly and patiently worked my way through their ridiculous, circuitous phone tree, until I ended up with a young man who told me his name was Alex M. What does the M stand for? He wouldnt tell me. He also wouldnt give me an extension through which I could reach him. I, at length, explained everything Ive written here. I explained to him, while making sure to note that I fully realize none of this was HIS fault, that the company he works for has essentially ruined my life over the course of the year. By the end of our conversation, Alex M. has assured me, multiple times - I made him state it - that I would now be able to pick up my tramadol again, and that I would not have any issues with picking it up until the prescription was out of refills. From the ease at which Alex was able to do this I was already about 90% sure he was lying. And as it turns out, I was right. I immediately called my pharmacy, and my doctors office afterwards. Neither of them had any indication that anything had changed with the insurance company. Neither had received the authorization which Alex M. had PROMISED me hed given. I was lied to by Molina, there is no other possibility. Please - for your own health, for your own well being, STAY AWAY FROM MOLINA HEALTHCARE.So thank you, Molina, for ruining my life. I truly hope none of you responsible for this are put through the hell youve put me through.

I’ve been on crutches for 4 weeks with a knee injury. I went to the doctor for a medical referral so I can get an MRI and Molina denied my MRI request. They said I need to do physical therapy before approving the referral, but I can’t even straighten my leg. I know I have a meniscus tear, but Molina isn’t letting me advance through the process so I can get surgery on my knee. Now I’m having to wait weeks while I still can’t walk. Horrible insurance, do not care about the actual well being of their patients.

I just called them four times. Every time music stopped playing in maybe five minutes, and I didnt know if I am still on the line. Then in a minute another music started playing. That pause was weird. Then Ive heard a ring... and it seemed like someone answered me, but I couldnt hear anything. I tried to talk, but no answer. On the forth attempt a guy answered me (he was nice), saying that the system is down at the moment and asked me to call them back within one hour.I would say, it is not a good customer service - technical issues affect it too much. I guess, unfortunately, I need to switch to a different health insurance company.Update: I called them in one hour and I spoke with a customer service representative Jessica. She was very friendly and helpful. Even she didnt find any of my old doctors on Molina networks list, she did help me out to find other doctors near me. Thank you Jessica!

The customer service is basically non-existent. I have been with the same Dr. for 16 years and she is in their network. They assigned me a PCP that isnt accepting new patients. I have tried for 4 months to get my PCP changed. I just opened the mail for my new card and it still has the wrong Dr. on it so I have to sit on hold AGAIN to try to correct it. I have also completed the change online more than once. What is wrong with these people?

Absolutely the most negligent insurance company Ive ever worked with. They force my partner (who has molina), to get his prescriptions through Accredo Specialty Pharmacy. Accredo has taken 3+ weeks to fill my partners life-sustaining prescription, and even though our local Fred Meyer has the prescription on shelf, Molina refuses to approve getting the prescription from Fred Meyer. Due to this, my partner is in excruciating pain, and we are still waiting for Accredo to fill the prescription.EDIT- although Molina has replied to my review, they were unable to do anything different when I contacted them, and my partner is still waiting for his medication.

Update 5/21 Billing issues placed on hold, call comes back again and drops after being placed on hold. NEVER AGREE TO BE PLACED ON HOLD********************Update 4/30/2019 Molina responded with a reiteration of denial of coverage. Stated that they had paid previously in error. Hung up on after being placed on hold again this company needs to be removed from the healthcare marketplaces. They seriously try to avoid speaking to you. *******They continue to deny covered health services. State it is because of no preapproval. Preapproval is not required in WA state for these services. Hour on hold, phone disconnects. This has happened twice. Finally reach someone and get transferred... call drops. Their business practice is to do everything possible not to pay. 1 star is laughably too generous.

If I could give negative points for this provider I would. They should be ashamed to call themselves health care providers. The government needs to shut them down, total waste of tax payers money. I am included in those tax payers. They would rather have mentally ill on the streets using street drugs than pay for their prescriptions. Shame on you! Plus I was hung up on when I called them out on scamming the our tax money.

Horrible. The companys claims paying and customer service departments were in no way prepared for their expansion from Medicare/Medicaid programs to individual insurance policies. Seventy-five percent of my claims have been paid incorrectly and their customer service reps have no knowledge or ability to research even simple matters. The standard answers are: 1) the provider should contact us (and they all are), and 2)youll have to file a grievance. I watch all my bills carefully and know what they should be paying, but for others Im sure they are not getting the benefits they are paying for. Also, customer service hold times are very long, and they have a very limited of ancillary providers (e.g., radiologists and anesthesiologist) even in the Seattle area. So even though theyll cover some claims, youre paying full bone for them, not getting a negotiated discount which is one of the advantages of an insurance plan. And their negotiated discounts with their providers seem very low and often are way more than their cost estimator says it should be. I cant wait to dump this plan! I went cheap and boy am I paying for it!!!

Molina is the epitome of a soulless corporation designed to profit off of human suffering. This company mainly manages healthcare plans for Americans who are eligible for Medicare and Medicaid, programs funded by tax dollars that are supposed to provide healthcare to the neediest Americans. Instead of taking those tax dollars and using them to provide caring, competent, and comprehensive medical care to people in need, they routinely refuse to to reimburse physicians and deny coverage for necessary, emergency procedures, leaving countless lower income Americans saddled with pain, illness, debt, and misery while they rake in BILLIONS of tax payer money in profit. My boyfriend has Molina. A few weeks ago he was bedridden with severe pain, throwing up, fever, yellowish skin, etc. He missed a week of work and was barely eating. When he kept getting worse instead of better we decided to make a trip to the emergency room. The doctor there recommended same day surgery because his gall bladder was so inflamed and his symptoms so severe. Fine, we thought, who are we to argue with medical opinion especially when my boyfriend was in so much pain and discomfort he was no longer able to function? So he had the surgery, we went home, he feels much better and went back to work less than two weeks after the surgery. Guess what? Molina has decided not to pay for this surgery because they deemed it not medically necessary. Even though my boyfriend was unable to work, unable to eat, unable to walk or shower without support. Even though the attending physician in the emergency room recommended immediate surgery. That doesnt matter to Molina! After all, how can they siphon billions of taxpayer dollars into their own pockets if they are using that money to actually provide healthcare to people? Disgusting.
