I wish the experience that led me to hire Irvin were better, though Im sure thats the start of any legal proceeding. Before coming across Irv, I had to go through three different private attorneys. I can tell you none of them were half as competent as Irv with my restraining order or criminal proceedings. Irvin represented me recently. I interviewed him along with two other attorneys. His rates were comparable to the other two. The main reason I chose him instead of the others was because he doesnt accept too many cases at a time. He was always ready to make enough time for me. It was clear from the beginning through the trial that he was overly prepared. He made a point to prepare for the worst case scenario. He was up front from the beginning (even before I hired him) about the good and the bad of my case. I never got the impression that he was trying to tell me what I wanted to hear just to get my business. As evidence of this, his tone and demeanor didnt change after I hired him. He helped me to feel at ease before each court date by telling me exactly what I needed to know and what I needed to do before hand. He told me things as specific as to put my hands by my side when called or what to wear for trial.My favorite thing about Irvin was the difference in the way I felt appearing in court before he was there with me and after. My case certainly wasnt anything big as far as criminal standards are concerned but it was obviously important to me and of course something that would effect my life. Ive had some experience with lawyers in the past and they want to make money so they focus on the big cases that will produce the most yield. I didnt find this was the case with Irvin, from the beginning he was sure to be involved listening to all of my side of the story, reading through the case and was always responsive when I reached out with a question or anything I thought of after speaking with him initially. When I first hired him he even came by and met me at the scene in order to get a proper look at the damage and to take pictures that could later be used in court. Also Ive had experiences before where the lawyer doesnt mind dragging out a case and getting the most bang for his buck on the time. Irvin was not like that, Im not a rich person and he was willing to do his best to end the case as fast as possible so that the case didnt drag on and cost higher fees. A note for anyone that may be involved in a case at Brighton district court I noticed that he knew many of the court personnel and had spoken to the ADA at the court before hand as well. I think its an extra benefit that hes a person with good relations at this court, when hes defending your case he would be seen as a straight shooter whos known to the court rather than just another lawyer off the street defending someone who they see as a criminal. I would hope I never need to, but should the need ever arise that I would need another attorney I would not hesitate to reach out to Irvin again.

I hired Irv in an effort to be granted a hardship license after my second OUI offense. I was originally going to go myself--THANK GOD I did not. From start to finish Irv was a master of his craft and had clearly been through the process many times.
