Great hospital. Doctors/surgeons are excellent. OR. PACU Nurses are great. Nurses and Nurse Technicans are very good and extremely helpful. Inpatient food is even very good. It should be a 1 or zero start for their automated system. Do you guys realized how many advertising you have while a patient waits minutes, half and hour, an hour over the phone!!! Disgusting. The patient needs relaxation nor more stress while waiting on hold. Going for my 5th call now. 22 min hold on the first. Gastro department. The five start is for care, even thought I got Rx a pep medicine that I am allergic and one of the reasons I could be having pain, and therefore colonoscopy. Went to hospital again in person to have them change my Rx for the colonoscopy pep. Pharmacy doesn’t have record of it. Calking now to have them prescribed a medicine that I am not allergic. 3rd dealing with this. I appreciate the texts for prep, but I need someone to answer the. phone! Didn’t they listened when I told them I might be allergic to PEG!!

Please go elsewhere. This hospital is not state of the art or current. I have had to file complaints repeatedly to get the incompetent and unprofessional staff to do their actual jobs. The buildings, hospital rooms and waiting rooms are long overdue for a make over. Hold times are exceedingly long, you simply cant get anyone on the phone or follow up without calling repeatedly. Calling there is a job in and of itself. Some of the Drs are arrogant, defiant and incompetant. Some of the Drs are elderly bordering being senile.

Hospital staff are friendly except for the operators answering the phone. I asked me to connect me to whomever handles claims because it wasnt an automated option. She wasnt friendly answering the phone in the 1st place but proceeded to give an attitude when asking which department. I said I dont know thats why I pressed zero for the operator. She put me on hold and, Im assuming, wasnt going to deal with me and another operator picked up the line. So as long as you dont have to call there, this is a great hospital.

There are much much better hospitals in Boston do not waste your time here you may come out worse off than when you went in. My husband was readmitted this Monday with a staph infection after he was discharged barely two days after surgery with a wound vac in a 12 inch incision and two drains, no instructions, no antibiotics, and no confirmation of a visiting nurse after a major abdominal surgery. To top it off when he was told he was being readmitted apparently they didnt even let the floor know, he had to walk himself to his own room after waiting alone for nearly 2 hours in an empty part of the hospital as it was after hours. If youd rather not put yourself or your loved ones at risk then avoid this place. Horrible care all around, we would never go back.

Arguably the worst, least professional medical experience I’ve ever had was right here at Tufts Dermatology.Tufts can be defined by junior, insecure B- and C-rate medical staff.Their insecurities (“awkwardness”) resulted in failure to ask the right questions, conduct proper due diligence and ultimately failure to avoid a totally unnecessary procedure.Tufts takes no liability. I will never go back unless I have no other choice.

The Drs and nurses are great here!! Very caring. Only negative thing was, I had surgery here, my husband was the responsible party to drive me home after having surgery. I was in the hospital for I think 10-11 hours. He had to wait out side in his truck the whole time. It was 20 degrees out, he had to keep paying meter for parking, running the truck for heat, no bathroom. They should consider a (clean space) or some area for responsible parties in such situations as this or for the responsible parties of those who are admitted as well. I felt so bad he was out there the whole time with others doing the same.

Total hip replacement at Tufts verses NE Baptist was huge. I had a robotic hip replacement at Tufts with Dr. Joseph Kavolus, anterior approach, much less invasive, spinal anesthesia, discharged day of surgery, also walked and did stairs. Pain was mild to moderate managed with Tylenol, naproxen and gabapentin, NO NARCOTICS. I am now 2 weeks post op and I am ambulating with a cane only. The nursing staff at Tufts was exceptional; Jane in pre-op and PACU,Rachel in intra-op, Lisa private nurse and Allison from Physical therapy . It felt like a personalized spa treatment instead of a hospital visit.Total hip replacement at NE Baptist, posterior approach, general anesthesia, moderate to severe pain, stayed to 2 nights in the hospital. I had constipation from the narcotics along with nausea and vomiting. The scopolamine patch did not help at all. My recover was prolonged and I needed extensive physical therapy. If you need a total hip replacement, robotic arthroplasty with Dr. Joseph Kavolus at Tufts Medical Center is the way to go, far superior.

If you show up at 7 AM on a weekday morning, youll only have to wait an hour (they open at 8 AM) and youll be out by 8:30 AM.The staff is professional and their Medical Records department is top notch. Your experience will be extremely different depending on what services you need at Tufts Medical Center.Pros:- My primary care and gynecology experiences at Tufts have been great. The doctors have been very friendly, empathetic, and good at listening to my health concerns, which is a priority for me, as a person with new comorbidities including behavioral health concerns such as anxiety and chronic dp/dr.- Never had any insurance problems using Blue Cross Blue Shield (Out of State).- Doctors take their time with you, and I have never felt rushed to leave. Sometimes there is a wait, and they are often behind schedule, but once you meet with primary care, they give you all the time you need. I once sat with my primary care doctor for 45m getting all my questions answered.- Parking in the city at Tufts garage is a fair price compared to other parking garages. I think after validation (a stamp from the front desk when you visit your doctor) we paid something like $13 for 2 hours. Compared to other garages that charge you $25+ for more than 1h, the former price is fair.- They do a basic screen for COVID once you enter any Tufts building, give you hand sanitizer, and a mask to switch into. COVID-wise, I never feel unsafe visiting Tufts. They keep their facilities clean, have bins for used/dirty pens, keep hand sanitizer everywhere, block off seating with tape for social distancing measures, etc. Worry free.Cons:- Unfortunately I had a very traumatizing experience at the Gastroenterology/Hepatology department. The doctors there were completely unempathetic to my situation. One of them made me cry and almost gave me a panic attack because she started arguing with me about my care, and baiting me into trying drugs and tests that I did not want to nor need. She did not want to let go of our argument even when I asked if we could move on. She clearly was not trained in methods of de-escalation, and did not give me the impression that she cared about me or my chronic pain. She talked over me when I tried to ask questions, and rushed as she talked while I was being informed of a serious condition. As a person who already undergoes therapy to address trauma, this experience was absolutely unacceptable and damaging to my mental health. I do not want anyone else with comorbidities and especially BH concerns to go through what I did, so Im writing this review to let anyone who needs compassionate and competent Gastroenterology/Hepatology services know to please think twice about going to Tufts. I switched over to a hospital in Newton/Wellesley run by Brigham and Womens, and I have been receiving more competent and less stressful care there. You deserve compassionate care. Sadly the Gastro/Hep dept. at Tufts is not where you will receive it.- Its clear that the primary care doctors are pretty overworked. You need to wait weeks, sometimes months to get an appointment with your pcp. The pro in this situation, is usually that if you cannot get an appointment with your designated pcp (the familiar face), then they will send you to visit another pcp at Tufts as a stand-in for who you would usually see. Still inconvenient at times because if you have comorbidities, you have to re-explain your medical history.

This hospital has a good reputation but on the inside it is horrible, I have done my internship during 2018 and it was one of the reasons why I had depression. In the interventional Radiology they care of sterility is low, when the patient is about to leave the room, the doctor puts the dressing without cleaning the incision itself, and this part in my eyes was the worst of all, since it can cause infection (imagine your skin to be bloody then you put on it a dressing without cleaning your skin first). Can you imagine that they have a resident every month and the problems is not here, after the resident spends two weeks, the consultant let him do the procedures alone!! I could not believe what I saw. The staff were allergic to the foreigners especially the females. Literally every time I think about this hospital I feel so bad that it was one of my memories, I am entitled to a better option.

I understand miscommunication, I don’t understand laziness or anything less than what a HOSPITAL is supposed to provide for us. And it scares me because nobody helps with these kind of things. We’re supposed to remain quite when our health and lives are in others hands. The patient care, medical and nursing stuff were absolutely outstanding, particularly in the Surgical Intensive care Unit. They saved my brothers life, and I will be forever grateful for their caring ways. But the hospital is the most atrocious place to visit a patient. More so if you are a handicapped person. From the parking - very poorly signaled - to the locked doors making it compulsory to take egregious detours, to the unavoidable staircases - try to negotiate them with a walker! - passing through the confusingly signaled corridors while trying to find the signs for the right ward... the whole place is a maze (a mess!). And to make the picture complete, the Main Entrance of the hospital is closed on Sundays! They might as well put signs: Visitors keep off!Five stars for medical care. Most of the doctors are overloaded with too many patients and instead of hiring more doctors they just let patients wait for hours or have the nurse burst in and interrupt every 15 minutes while the doctor is still seeing the patient. There are so many medical breakthroughs and miracles happening everyday but I think the biggest miracle for this place is how they managed to avoid being shut down after so many malpractice lawsuit being filed against them. Anyways, got great help, some meds and ointment to take care of the swelling and some instructions for follow-up care that have worked great. Thanks again!

Excellent hospital, doctors and nurses alike. Doctors arent uppity like the community hospitals, they answered my questions and treated like a person. I use the endocrinology dept mostly.

I called this hospital at least 4 times to find information about my brother on Christmas Eve. I was run around from nurses station to nurses station. I am very upset that service was incredibly horrible. On top of that my brother is deaf and I had no way of speaking with him directly. In the past this hospital has always been wonderful but as of now I would not want to deal with them ever again and would never recommend anyone calling in to find out information because you will be sorely disappointed. And they do not staff any interrupters on a holiday so if you are deaf, good luck with communication.

My 81, now 82, year old Father broke his ankle last September in his assisted living facility and had surgery at Tufts. After two casts it finally came off and he was in a boot. However upon the boot being removed we noticed his repaired right ankle that his foot is now crooked and her cannot straighten it out. Hes in a wheelchair and cant use that ankle to push the chair while hes wheeling it. Not sure who to talk to about this since it seems to me that this shouldnt be the case, appears that someone did something wrong in resetting his ankle. And somehow during all follow up visits etc no one at Tufts could notice it was healing crookedly,??.

I hear the complaints about having to wait too long for your nurse to answer the call bell or to get something for you. All hospitals are giving nurses too many patients and it will only get worse if Question 1 doesnt pass. VOTE YES on QUESTION 1 and you will get better care. Hospital administrators are telling you a bunch of lies to prevent the bill from passing. Ive been a nurse for 41 years. I know what Im talking about. QUESTION 1 / VOTE YES

Tufts medical center in Boston CAN be an excellent hospital if they replace SOME of the nurses who don’t appreciate when you call them and tell you give me 2 minutes and the 2 minutes become 2 days until you complain to someone and then all of the sudden they try to become pleasant. I can name one nurse but i won’t. She is the worse that i have ever seen in any hospital. The CCT are excellent. The doctors are excellent. The case managers and social workers are excellent. Please look at some of your nurses and retrain them to be compassionate and ready to do their jobs which they are getting paid for.

Excellent PCPs and surgeons. For years, I loathed going to the doctors . When I changed my PCP to Tufts, that all changed. Not only does he take all the time needed, he will take you without an appointment anytime you really need to see a doctor. I recently had a surgery that greatly improved my health & life. The surgery was flawless and enjoyed a short recovery time. The staff is top of the line and there is little doubt as to why Massachusetts has the best medical professionals in the country.Happy Travels!TimothyOLA Travel & Leisure Traveling The World, Together

I am extremely impressed with how personilzed the care is. The Pediatric staff and nurses are mostly seasoned people and are always willing to go out of their way to make the experience the best possible for the family and the children. The Floating Hospital is a small enough place that you feel comfortable and know the staff, yet big enough that 99% of what can be done in the bigger local hospitals can be handled here with a high level of professionalism.

Billing is unhelpful, they ignore insurance companies. Won’t connect you to anyone who can help.

Well Im supposed to be giving birth here in less than 3 weeks now and if I wasnt so far along I would change my hospital! I just moved to MA (as if that isnt stressful enough) so I didnt have much time to prep and get a new birth plan set up. I am not looking forward to giving birth here and actually very nervous that my experience will be as poor as the staffs communication skills. ALL I WANT IS A HOSPITAL TOUR. I havent even seen the place and I guess I dont have the right to just show up and check out labor and delivery on my own- WHICH if you cant provide me with a tour I should at least be able to see the unit Im going to be delivering my child in! I am IRATE I have been calling for weeks & have gotten absolutely nowhere!!! I am being told the same useless things and just going in circles. After being transferred to L&D Im told that my doctor needs to set it up (who I didnt even have a chance of meeting yet) and was given Ashleys number. I called my OB in Braintree where I was also told to call Ashley but they allegedly had nothing else to do with the process. I called Ashley over a week or two span before anyone even answered the phone (you REALLY need to get a voice-mail set up). I gave all my information and was told I would receive a call back. Five days later (being today) I called back again where I gave my same information again to be told I will receive a call back after speaking to her supervisor- which I highly doubt will ever happen. Considering how far along I am, I dont have weeks to wait for a freaking phone call to set up a tour & it shouldnt be that hard (even if rooms are filled, I would like to see the unit and hospital itself)! I called L&D again who didnt even know if tours were single or groups, if I could register online, or if there was any other way I could go about it. All she said was to have my OB call them on my next appointment to see if they can give me a tour then. What in the actual hell is the difference if I call or her? I need the tour either way. I am so disappointed in my experience already and I havent even stepped foot in the parking lot yet! Thanks for adding more stress to my pregnancy and giving me nothing but low expectations of your practice! Apparently Im not the only one who had issues with l&d staff so maybe you should look into doing something different.

When you are at the office they take care of you okay, however, good luck ever getting ahold of your doctor. The office told me I would be called regarding my tests results same day. I kept calling and didnt hear back til the next week when they call at a time I specifically said I would not be able to answer. It has now been two weeks since the testing. They called 2 minutes before I got off work and I called right back, but since the doctor had called me after business hours I could not be put through to them. I do not feel at this point that they care to help me at all.
