ASK THE PRICE BEFORE SUBSCRIBING TO THEIR SERVICE. OR DONT BOTHER.I made a mistake of not asking the price of a SINGLE visit before getting myself into one.They charged me $500 for a 10 min visit and for giving me a prescription of Tretinoin. Thats it. How incompetent can they be when they think they are owed $500 for that? When I was emailed the bill it was just another billing summary. No break down. It says $500 and the “type” says “charge” and the “reason” is just a number. No information on what was even coded or what was even done in that appointment.Please do check other reviews too, which have similar stories.I wouldnt recommend this place at all

I first booked this place online through zocdoc. It was in network with my insurance and recommended. I called the office to verify the appointment. The woman I spoke to was pleasant and confirmed everything. I even was sent text reminders for the appointment all the way up to the morning of the appointment. When I arrived, 2 of the office ladies were extremely unwelcoming and rude. They treated me like I was inconveniencing them. Meanwhile, the waiting area was empty. After giving my name and the time of my appointment, I was looked at like I had two heads. They first claimed they had no record of me at all; then I was told that I called and cancelled my own appointment the day before, and that no appointment was found. Which I find interesting, I was blamed for cancelling my own appointment, yet I showed up to my very appointment. Not once did the office say, hey I think we made a mistake here. I then get asked all my information again, and then come to find out, I was told that someone else who has the exact same name as me, had the exact same email as me minus one letter, and lived in Boston a neighborhood away from me was also one of their patients, and that they must have mixed up our profiles. They then continued to throw their other co worker who deals with Zoc doc appointments under the bus right in front of me. Extremely unprofessional. I was frustrated to say the least. I then had to re-verify all of my information and insurance all over again, and make another appointment. Luckily they were able to get me in only 15 min after my original appointment. After that, the exam went fine. A month later, I get a bill in the mail for $400. I decided to call and ask to see how much an office visit is for new patients. Again, the woman on the phone responded really rudely saying “well we don’t bill you, we bill your insurance” and I waited for the next response. That’s when she told me an office visit can range from $100-$280. Thats when I asked why I was being charged $400, and I requested an itemized list of what I was being charged for. She informed me that she gave me a list of pricing for an uninsured patient. I asked if I could pay out of pocket instead. The woman put me on hold. Another woman came on the line. She was very stern in telling me that it would be illegal. When I mentioned the prices I was just told by her coworker, she told me she didn’t know anything about the prices on the list I was given- yet she told me she was the supervisor. When I said I had never been to a dermatologist that charged that much for an office visit, her response was pretentious and she said “well we are a privately owned facility, you’ve probably never been to one of those before”. When I said I wasn’t going to be be able to pay this in full right away, I asked what my options were, and she stated that “as a courtesy, we can do a payment plan for you because we don’t normally offer that”. Which I appreciated, but at the same time, was still very pretentious. When I was emailed the “itemized bill” it was just another billing summary. No break down. First rate dermatology care! Joop and his team are attentive, eagle eyed, compassionate and responsive. They listen to your concerns and give you answers you can act on. Punctual but never hurried. Always good humored! I wouldn’t go anywhere else, and strongly recommend them for your care as well.

Unbelievably incompetent staff. Get left on hold for ages and then just hung up on. Getting insurance verified requires going through a maze of incompetency related to registering with MGH - who are also incompetent. Baffling that hospital is considered the number 1 hospital in this third world hole of a country. I wouldn’t trust Boston Dermatology and Laser to remove a mole from my butt and I hope you believe me when I say YOU SHOULDN’T TRUST THESE INCOMPETENT PEOPLE EITHER. They quite simply DON’T CARE.

Ive been a patient here for 10 years. Very professional staff, clean facility. Ive had a few procedures to remove suspicious moles and treatments to remove large age spots on my face. All done extremely well and not a sign that of any of the work was done within a week.

Called to find out how much a consultation costs out of pocket (not treatment, just the consultation) and the receptionist said its company policy to not provide that information over the phone. I asked if I could speak to them face to face and they said they still wouldnt be able to give me pricing because its up to the provider. And they said Im unable to contact the provider directly to ask. So how am I supposed to avoid surprises and make sure I can even afford the consultation? Taking my business to someone who can give me an estimate on what a consultation costs out of pocket.

Ive been going to Boston Dermatology for 15 years and am so impressed by their expertise and approach to patient care. Dr. Grevelink treated my husband when going through chemotherapy, and Ive been going to him since for both skin surgery and checkups. Along with his knowledge, expertise, and skill, he is always so welcoming, gets to know who you are, and makes sure to answer any questions and explain things thoroughly. The other staff are also very helpful, attentive, and competent. I highly recommend them!!!

I did a virtual call. Everyone was quite lovely. However, I was prescribed something that was way over priced, as this was potentially expected, I was told I would be prescribed something else if need be. I called back for the next prescription. I was told I would be contacted. I never received a call, email or any contact back. I only remembered to write this review, because I just received the bill which is normally $350 for a virtual check-up. I basically booked an appointment for no reason, and now no longer even want to pay more for another virtual check-up and then prescription as well. I will look for other more affordable and reliable mediums.

Professional and friendly. Love this office and would highly recommend. I have received top virtual visit care during the time of the Pandemic. I cannot thank them enough for their care. It is heartwarming to feel taken care of not only as a patient but as a person. I had some urgent issues a few months ago that thankfully have now subsided. I thank the entire care team. Got my annual skin check yesterday with Erica Lundgren at Boston Dermatology and Laser center. In a quick appointment, she checked my body for moles, sliced off and cauterized a mole on my arm, and froze a growth in my hair. She’s great. I’ve been going to her annually for about five years. Nearly every year, we need to take one or two skin growths off. So far, nothing cancerous, but I do have a history of basal cell cancer on my nose. That was removed by a surgeon from Boston Dernatology & Laser Center about 6 years ago.

Everything was very professional. The staff was following all of the recommended protocols for COVID-19 protection.

Natalie Jones (Physicians Assistant) and the nurse were both excellent: competent, friendly, quick. The office staff was polite & efficient. I got an appointment the same week, booked easily via ZocDoc. Even though Im a new patient, Natalie did everything on the same visit with no artificial separation of an initial consultation and later treatment.Full credit to the practice for letting a PA handle routine procedures like mine. Thats better for everyone. As long as the weather (and your health) is good enough for a short walk, then the office is convenient to Red and Green lines.

This review is for Dr. Erica Lundgren:Not only is she extremely beautiful and easy to talk to but she changed my life. I had persistent cystic acne that would not go away. I thought my face was ruined until she prescribed me Accutane. I did 2 cycles and it completely stopped all acne on my body and renewed my skin forever. Accutane is a very tough drug to be on which led to me calling the doctors office when I was stressed out and being rude to the girls at the front desk. Erica politely called me back and understood my situation when this happened instead of just ignoring me like other doctors would have in that particular situation. I don’t have experience with the other dermatologists at this office but I recommend this place because of Dr. Lundgren. Thank you Erica and Boston Dermatology and Laser!

Ive been going to Boston Dermatology for about 3-4 years now for laser treatments and skin checks. I have also tried Botox twice. I find the office warm, inviting and very clean. The office staff couldnt be any friendlier and the Dr. and PA I see there are top notch! Anytime I have had a follow up question, they get back to me right away. They will be my life long office for any skin issues!

This is the worst experience I have ever had within a medical office. The office staff was completely incompetent, rude and unprofessional. I received two bills on the same day from the office with one bill telling me I was 30 days overdue for a bill I had JUST received!I also received numerous missed calls from their office within a two hour time span. Leave me one Voicemail and I will call you back, please do not keep calling! When the office did call me, they never introduced themselves on the phone and were very rude. They also promised they would call me after my biopsy results which they never did.I am extremely upset with my visit to Boston Dermatology and Laser Center and I do not recommend them to anyone!

I went in for a routine skin exam which was not even performed. The doctor was a female not even the doctor I that I made the appointment with. I felt very uncomfortable and was asked why was I here for a visit. Hello look in your file!!!!I then received a bill for a specialist co-pay, I am outraged mostly when it should have been a yearly exam.I can go on and on but this is a very unorganized practice and very cold and unproffesional.
